Myself Dr Sutariya planned to go Bhutan. So I called Sotc, shahin sheikh, for more details. She asked me to pay certain amount to book air ticket from Ahmedabad.it was I think 2 nd may.
She dicussed tour package charge for three star plus hotel too.
Next day payment was done but hotel were not booked
On Monday we tried many times to contact for further payment and hotel confirmation but SOTC office hadnnot replied. After two days that says hotels are not available so they reduced package and asked to book lower class hotel. I insisted for the hotel THEY saiD in advance.
SOTC office denied so i had no way to cancel my booking. So I sent mail for cancellation.
Today phone comes for refund but cancellation charge 8000.00. why should I pay it as sotc initiated it.
SOTC spoiled my tour. Infact THEY have to pay compensation. I asked for actual money.
IF HOTELS WERE NOT AVAILABLE THEN WHY THEY BOOKED AIR TICKET.
ITS THIER OFFICE BEARER FOLT.

    This is ramesh palan here we have been highly fed up of the kind of service that has been given to us after paying the full amount of the trip they dont have the courtesy to revert to us and give us a bill on time before juss one day of the trip they have not shared any driver details with us when we being responsible call them and ask them to call us bck they tell us that within half an hour we shall do so but they are never on their words as usual please we are highly tired and fed up please revert to us as soon as possible

      We had booked a europe travel for 4 people along with a group of 28. Due to some emergency we 4 people couldn’t travel. Ss per the initial discussion with them, they had assured us to return the deposit if the visa process is not initiated. When we called them they told us once we get your replacement we will refund the amount. Now, they have already got the replacement and the group is even returning back from the tour and still they have not refunded our amount. Now, when we call them they say yes we have to return the amount and we will return by next week. They are saying the same thing from past 3months. This is really frustrating keep them calling every week and we receive the same response.

        Group of 6 senior citizens booked a tour of the far east from 27 march to 6 april. From day one there was problems. No meals were booked on outbound flight to malaysia. We reached kl hungry and tired and almost immediately we had go for sightseeing. Half day tour of malaysia took place at night where we hardly saw anything. Shows how badly everything was organized. Next day prog was equally unsuitable where there were mainly rides and water sports. Most nightmarish of the whole trip was the journey to singapore by road. The coach started 2 hrs late and we had to stand on the road with all our baggage. We drove for 4-5 hrs nonstop and when we finally stopped it was only for 15-20 mins. We were cheated by sotc as they said they will be arranging a pvt vehicle for us but changed at the last min. At both malaysian border and singapore immigration we had to carry our baggage ourselves and wait in long queues, most strenuous for senior citizens. We were not informed abt this by the travel agent. When we reached the pick up point nobody was there to receive us. After constant calls to the local agents there was no response. When we finally got through we were rudely told they have no information. We had to take a cab to hotel. Throughout our stay in singapore we got no info abt where and when we are going. We had to make constant calls to local agents which made our telephone bill high thanks to the indifferent and callous behavior of the agent.in pattaya again sotc goofed up everything. They arranged a trip which the local agent said was dangerous and unsuitable for senior citizens. We had go for another prog for which we paid 3000 thai bhats out of our pocket. Just shows the throughly careless don’t care attitude of sotc. When we reached bangkok we were rushed off for sightseeing even before we had checked in to hotel. The next day nothing was arranged for us and we contacted sotc they said that we didn’t inform them that we wanted a prog to be arranged on that day. Whose duty is it to arrange prog... The customer or the travel agent. We had to fend for ourselves by arranging a prog ourselves and paying 7200 thai bhats out of our pockets.
        Surely for all this torture and trouble we have been through we deserve at least compensation for what we have spent.

        We had called the customer care of SOTC but they were most indifferent and said they cannot help us. Told us to contact the agent who booked our ticket. Again shows the don’t care attitude of SOTC after all they have taken lakhs from us and so why should they bother.

          Airasia had suspended all flights flying out of mumbai after the 29th of april. There is a press release in the times of india informing that on the 18th of february. Inspite of that sotc (Harsh sharma) booked our package on the 1st of april. The package included airasia flight from mumbai to bali on the 25th of may!! They sold us a package containing flight that was not existent!! I booked with them inspite of having many other options as i was misinformed and misguided by them! When they realized the goo[censored]p they wasted a precious week in trying to sort things out. After that they just apologized and decided to refund the amount! I had even booked my connecting flights for the trip. I will be loosing out about 12000 rs on that!!
          There is ample proof of their ulterior motive in misleading us in purchasing the package. And then doing precious little to rectify the mistake! I want to mention the names of all the executives i have delt with from sotc. They have been misleading, unprofessional and down right crooks, if i may say so!

            I have booked international tour with sotc, paid an advance amount of 40000 for 2 members. Unfortunately due to medical emergency i was not in a position to travel. I opted to cancel a week before the travel start date, chennai sales manager atchaya assured me that she will get at least 70 percentage refunded if i produce a valid medical certificate. I submitted the certificate as requested, now she has really changed her attitude towards me. She said she can't pay the amount and that too in a arrogant manner. Also she is adding we need to pay more money as we cancelled just a week before. Is this the way the company has to behave with customers, that too sales manager behavior towards customer is not tolerable. Think from customer perspective, you guys are running business for consumers. And without customers you guys are nothing.

            Booked Kenya Tour for three persons from SOTC Salt Lake, Kolkata. by paying 90000 for three family members. Asked for cancellation more than 45 days before the journey due to medical reasons . But they are reluctant to refund the advance amount. Asked for Doctors Advice, . The relative Prescription was provided .Now they want diagnostic report and yet I am uncertain whether or not they will refund or whats the end of this harassment . Similar to other complainants they are threatening that apart from this we would have to pay more charges Not expected such an unprofessional approach from SOTC. Its no denying once they get the payment their attitude changes . Will the appropriate authority look into it ?

                Dear sir,

                I have booked two tickets "east éurope glimpses" as guided group tour. I have been specifically guaranteed that the group members also will be from hyderabad.

                As understood from intenery and as informed by sotc the visa will be arranged by sotc as a group.

                After paying the advance money, now sotc informed me that i have to fend myself for the visa and pay rs 6500/- which will be adjusted in the price after handing over the receipt. This is not stated in the intenery. The intenery include visa arrangement by sotc and now i have to fend myself for the visa which is contrary to your commitment.

                I have not been advised of the price of the trip finally. As i myself cannot manage the tour, we approached credible agency sotc for arranging the group tour. The sotc visa dealing staff is not helpful to obtain my visa and most uncooperative. The dealing staff is shouting, argumentative and not courteous even to a senior citizens. As we have paid the advance money, we have been left in the lurch and under their mercy.

                Let us know what is the option left to us.

                  worst travel experience ever

                  I booked a singapore tour through sotc. They had booked a very very very bad hotel property for us, which saw before handed and notified the same to them and asked them to change it immediately. The service team of sotc said that they will change it. When we got a final tockets and confirmation details it was the same garbage hotel property “cherry loft “ in singapore. They assured that it was a good hotel and if encounted any problem...

                  This company trick you to book tickets to out-of country destinations by saying cheaper prices by one person and coax you to pay advance of at least 40% of ticket price, once you booked, you will be given different price list by another person and he says this is final. Later you will be given tickets in the last minute to different starting point and different destination point. Don't trust these people, i had bitter experience. Better chose a travelling company in your city not far away place, because at least you can go and fight personally.

I have faced the same issue even and paid Rs. 60, 000/- the booking amount. their modus oprandi is same as you have mentioned different people will commit different things and the same person wont ever come and speak to you. I am looking forward to file a case against SOTC and even take this to Ministry of Tourism and screw up this SOTC... need people who have faced the same issue to come together and fight for this. seems SOTC is not a Holiday maker but a holiday spoiler.

                    I had travelled on european splendor departue 13 sep from delhi.

                    Would like to provide feedback and my horrible experience:

                    1. There were so many sales call at the time of enquiry but after paying booking amount, there was no proper follow up on the visa. Always i had to call and enquire and push for visa process.

                    2. At time of booking, i was told that money for jungfrau can be given in india also. I asked for the same to be taken from me in india only. Then after booking i was told it would be taken in switzerland only.in switzerland i was asked to shell out only cash and that too in euro only

                    3. How can you not accept card or online payment in europe when all payments done in india were online? To add to that, i was told by your agents as well as matrix tie up person that card will be used everywhere and is accepted at all places, so no need to carry much cash.

                    4. As a result i was not carrying enough euro and dollars were also not accepted. So i had to exchange money in venice where i was charged 40 dollar for converting 120 dollars as conversion fees. Which turns out to be close to rs 2500 which is complete waste had i been informed earlier to carry cash.

                    5. Being a group departure, no online checkin facility was available. However seats could have been blocked by you.
                    As a result while departing from delhi, i and my wife had to travel separately. Borading pass attached for reference. How could you not block seats. This is very basic.

                    6. My booking had 1 jain meal. On delhi-rome flight we were served jain meal where as on paris-delhi flight, no jain meal was served. On enquiring from air-india officials, they told there was no such special request received by them.
                    As a result we were left with no meal option on return. How could this be a miss?

                    7. Our itenary had 3 days stay in same hotel at switzerland. But at run time, we were told that for 1 day we will stay at interlaken and only 2 days in the original hotel.
                    The 1 day hotel arranged was a very small room with separate individual beds like a make shift adjustment room booked in hurry. Pics attached for reference where ceiling is slanting and also beds are separate. How can this be done to a honeymoon couple. On compaining to hotel, it was told that no rooms were available

                    8. On last day, our flight was at 10 pm and we were checked out at 11 am. There was no proper arrangement for us till then and we were basically owandering on streets. How could you treat us like and leave us to sit in hotel lobbby for more than 6 hours.
                    Do we deserve such a treatment. Why could not a proper arrangement or early flight be booked.

                    Also to add to the joke they are ready to refund around rs 700 which means they acknowledge their was a lapse from their end.

                    At the very outset it indeed is our pleasure to have your presence on our tour and we thank you for the same. While we have noted your points we politely we have also taken a note of your feedback regarding your pre tour experience and wish to clarify as follows:-



                    Jungfrau Optional Excursion:-

                    With regards to your query on Jungfrau optional excursion, passengers are given the flexibility and the freedom to choose what sightseeing and attraction they wish to visit based on their preference and enjoy at a nominal cost paid to the supplier directly on tour. Our tour manager confirms that she had given an option to all passengers who wish to avail the said optional tour to pay in Euros as well as USD.



                    Flight Seats:-
                    With regards to your query on the flight seats, we wish to inform you that the airline had allotted seats and issued boarding passes accordingly post which changes were not possible. Our operation team confirms that for inbound journey the seats allotted were together.



                    Flight Meal:-
                    With regards to your query on in Flight Jain meal request, we have noted your feedback and as a gesture of goodwill would like to offer (without prejudice) a refund of Euros 5 x 2 @ 76 = INR 760/- totally for you and your wife . Kindly give us your acceptance for us to action accordingly.



                    Hotels:-
                    With regards to your query on Switzerland Hotels, we wish to state that as a tour operator we accommodate our guests in hotels that offer good value for money. We have mentioned in our brochure that the hotels depending on the city and the day to day itinerary, your hotel may be confirmed either in the city center or away from the city center or in the surrounding areas. We wish to state that all hotels are subject to availability and the best available options were provided accordingly for the group.

                    Hotel Rooming:-
                    With regards to you query on Interlaken Hotel room, in European hotels rooms are smaller in size as compared to other destinations. On persual of the world wide web City Oberland Hotel, Interlaken is a 3 star category hotel with facilities and amenities accordingly.

                    With regards to your feedback on two separate beds we wish to inform since the hotel was running full no spare rooms with double beds were available however we have noted your feedback.



                    Check out time:-

                    With regards to your query on check out time, We would like to inform you that that the Standard International check – out rule for all parts of the world permits passengers to check out at 1100 hrs accordingly. Also our tour manager confirms that she has advised to keep your luggage at the hotel concierge and explore the city on your own post which transfers were scheduled to the Airport.



                    With this we trust we have addressed the queries raised by you, we would look forward to having the privilege of you and your wife travel with us

                    update on the complaint is that i got a call from SOTC some days back trying to persuade be in accepting a Rs 10000 SOTC voucher to be redeemed for future travel.

                    I refused them saying why dont you accept the lapses and mishandling done by you and talk for suitable compensation.

                    What would i do with your voucher when i wont like to travel with you again.
                    It is of no use to me.

                      These people cheated us not once but twice. First when we went to europe it was suppose to be a 15 days trip starting in venice but sotc people informed us on our day of departure that our visas haven't arrived and we will join the trip two days after and they never refund the money that was lost in first 2 days next incident happened days before in singapore where we asked for five day trip but gave us only four days. We are busy professionals so we dint see itenery but they never explained orally, when we asked they said you have signed so you can't do anything and got nearly a lakh from each o[censored]s for five day trip. They cheated us. Sotc chennai office is bad and we will never travel with sotc again. You guys are doing a bad job. Thank you

                        Hi,
                        I have had a very bad experience with sotc thane branch, maharashtra today where we have not been given clear information about the additional charges that we need to pay for our travel to singapore while using credit card.
                        We were told to make a part payment at the initial phase of booking and the remaining within 30 days by vasundhara in the office. We did payment for 30000 inr via credit card without any charges.
                        While doing the remaining payment of 1lakh we were told that if we pay via credit card we will have to pay 2.2% additional charges on that amount. This wasn't conveyed to us at the time of initial payment else we would have done the entire payment that time itself and we would nit be changed extra.
                        This is very wrong on part of the employee and sotc to not convey details clearly and put us in a situation where we had to do ccheque payment.
                        In the country where mr. Modi is talking about going cashless if these companies start charging us 2.2% additional on going cashless then what is the government doing with the rules and policy for these companies.

                        We were also told that we would have to pay lesser a little later as the dollar value will go down and hence did not do full payment then. The dollar rate for singapore increased instead of decreasing and i had to pay 6000 inr extra. Had she told us that it could increase as well we would have done full payment then

                        All these things look like a very bad trick on consumers when the established firms like sotc does the same.

                        I would really want the regional officer for sotc, thane to take this up and give us the renumeration for all the unclear charges that we had to bear.

                          We have been put through lot of misery and anxious moments, when we opted for glimpses of east europe tour conducted by sotc, recently. Despite booking and paying for the tour well in advance (& repeated requests from us) they did not file the visa application till the last minute. As a consequence we were running around for my wife's visa till the last moment. These stressful moments are entirely due to the laidback approach of their sales and visa application teams in bangalore.

                          Their bangalore office employees (Barring one deepti) lack the sense o[censored]rgency required and carry a huge attitude on their shoulders. Their senior managers do not respond to your complaints and are very arrogant. Sotc does not have proper sops to make your holiday planning stress-free.

                          On the day of our journey instead of preparing for the tour we were running from pillar to post to make last minute adjustments to our airticket and had to incur a loss of rs.12, 860 on account of the last minute changes. Finally we received the visa at 4 p. M on the day of travel but were shocked to learn that the duration of stay allowed was shortened by the visa authorities because of submission of incorrect details of stay mentioned by the sotc team, despite providing all our details in advance. Our vacation spirit was marred before even the tour was started. With the result we lost out 2 days of site seeing in the beautiful innsbruck, salzburg etc (Out of 8 days) and felt really cheated and short changed by sotc when we had to return early to catch the flight. While the tour manager was good and empathetic the hotel accommodation is mediocre in all cities. The dinner is usually served in dingy indian restaurants and all o[censored]s were herded like sheeps to the basement or one corner of these places. The food is too basic and insipid as sotc bargains hard with these restaurants while negotiating.

                          Overall i can summarise by saying that if you want to enjoy your tour one should avoid such tour operators as sotc as they have grown very big, very poorly planned, show little empathy with the customers and overcharge you for each and every extra services.

                            I have booked for splendid europe tour with sotc on 23-03-17 and confirmed the final rate as rs. 199700/- including all govt. Taxes etc. Which i have mentioned on their voucher/consent letter, the copy of which is enclosed herewith. We are 3 persons in the family for which i have booked the tour and paid an advance of rs.1, 80, 000/- @ 60, 000/- per person by cheque on[protected]. The remaining amount was to be paid before 15 days of the tour date which is 5th july in my case. The tour was to start from 5-07-17 to 19-07-17. At the time of payment of balance amount on 23.06.17, the manager of the sotc, shri anurag has told me that i had to pay the euro rate difference which i declined but he had compelled me to pay the difference which comes to /- rs.10090/-. I had to pay rs. 199700/- * 3 = 599100/- instead they have recovered from me rs. 6, 09, 190/- (Dif. Rs.10090/-) further they are charging 3 euro per day per person for 15 days europe tour towards tip for coach and guide. On the 5th july and 19th july, there was neither coach nor guide provided, however they have charged the 3 euro per person (It comes to 3*3*2 = 18 euro). Further, the guide was provided only at london, rome and paris i. E. 3 days. Remaining 12 days no guide was provided. However the sotc tour operator has recovered the charges of guide. I now request you to help me in getting refund of euro rate difference of rs.10090/- + 9 euro per day (For we 3 persons) for 12 days which comes to 108 euro.
                            During the tour, i have learnt from my co-travellers that they have not paid euro rate differnce though it was asked by sotc.

                              On Europe tour with SOTC except the tour guide I had a bad experience with SOTC

                              1. Inspite o[censored]SP of guaranteed hotels in Premium Grand Tour of Europe . The hotel was changed from Ramada Regina to Park Hotel Du Sauvage which was pathetic and moreover the venue was changed from Engelberg to Meringen.

                              2. The sales people make false commitments, which they never deliver.

                              a) Surcharge charged which was never quoted and mentioned at last moment.
                              b) Early Check-in promised but had to remain stranded for 6 hours at London.
                              c) No queing at Disneyland was promised which was baseless and utterly false.
                              d) coah arrived late by 2hrs-30minutes, and then in writing making an excuse of traffic which is utterly false.
                              e) charging amount at last moment, few hours before departure

                              The sales people and back office, customer support people are lairs, irresponsive.

                                Sotc package of Europe was horrible. Hotels were #### and food inside the hotel including dinner and breakfast were disgusting. This is my worst trip ever in my life. Totally waste of money. All the services were poor. In Europe the tour manager Deepak khanojia was such a bad person. He does'nt take care of senior citizens. We were all bored in this trip due to trip manager deepak khanojia. The one who is travelling to europe should take another package like cox and kings, thomas cook because they are much better than sotc. Sotc tour travels is totally waste of money.

                                  Our Recent Euro Trip – Very Bitter Experience

                                  Dear Sir,
                                  It is indeed very painful to inform you that the recent Europe trip organized by SOTC and team was very un-professional and pathetic. I have listed a few instances below which indicate the amount of agony our group had to undergo during the course of the tour.

                                  We believed the assurances and promises of the local franchise Mr .P. V.Rao regarding the package offered and based on this trust we had opted SOTC to organize the tour.
                                  But to our dismay and disappointment nothing went as per the agreed itinerary.

                                  We had stated very clearly that we would be requiring accommodation in the city limits but everywhere we were provided hotels which were nearer to Airports.

                                  Park Raddison @ Heathrow which is very much an airport hotel

                                  Novotel @ Paris which is more of a motel rather than a hotel and near the airport and moreover the lifts in this hotel were not functioning.

                                  Schipol @ Amsterdam which is again near the airport.

                                  Arcadia @ Hiedelberg which is very far of from the city and condition of the hotel was so pathetic that even the ACs’ were not there .

                                  Swiss [protected]@Zurich Zug was so bad that there was no water even for us to consume. Moreover lack of medication, lack of proper transportation and lack of good restaurant added salt to our injuries.

                                  The only consolation was at Lucern which was decent enough in all aspects.

                                  Another instance which I would like to bring to your notice is that we were literally served food in the store room at Hotel Swissever, and we were asked to remove our own plates after consuming our dinner.

                                  In spite of willing to pay extra from our side for the change of hotel we did not receive any response from your side.

                                  Nearly 2 – 3 hours of time was wasted everyday in travel from the place of accommodation to the city due to which we were not able to enjoy the local cultural beauty and events.

                                  In addition to the above, I would also like to bring to light an incident indicating the un-professional approach of your tour manager Rohan and the driver John who behaved in a very indecent way and were very much demanding in attitude and were trying to exploit the situation.
                                  One of the members in the group had forgotten his mobiles at an Petrol station and this was found out after having barely travelled 3 kms. On requesting Rohan to turn back the bus to collect the mobiles, he did not relent and in turn said that it would cost 100 euros to go back and pick the mobiles. He finally agreed but at the cost of 20 euros being paid.

                                  How would you justify this act of one of your associates.
                                  Keeping the above bitter experiences in view how do you expect us to recommend your organization to other groups and within our circle. I have no other choice but to share my bitter experiences with all the major garment associations across India as well as the chamber of commerce at Vijayawada who will have to think twice before opting for the services of SOTC

                                      We feel cheated by sotc, where we had paid rs.1, 20, 000 as booking amount of 2 persons for amazing europe with zermatt. Due to unavoidable circumstances we had to postpone our plans for the tour, we notified the same to mr. Sukesh kumar, sales executive, sotc ambala about 1 month prior.
                                      They refused to return any amount, moreover started asking us for approx. Rs.10, 000 more per person. We had even paid for visa charges which they didn’t refund as promised earlier or didnt even accept the option to change the person travelling with me so i could have gone with some other member of my family if not my fiancé on the same day so as to atleast save our booking amount.
                                      Our family including our grandparents have taken many tours from sotc in past whereas now as per their behaviour and reviews from many other unhappy clients they have clearly become a money minded business trap where customer satisfaction is considered last.

                                      We haven’t utilized any of their services and even after informing about cancellation about a month prior they didn’t refund a single penny nor did they adjust the amount in another tour. When we ask any breakup of why you think our payment should be forefeited they don’t have clear answers.
                                      Thus, now we are forced to take legal action against the same to protect our rights and to save other people from getting in clutches of companies like these.
