Hi,

I got a call from SCB and they promised me to give a Manhattan Credit Card with some offers promised.I told that i am not interested in credit card but if you can give me the card with the said offer then only i will accept it.The person promised and gave 100% assuarnce on the offers committed. But i got a lower card i.e Titanium card. When i got the card, i went through the terms & condition and found that it does not have the offers promised to me. So, i complained in the bank, after listening to my problem they told that it will be converted to originally promised card with the offers as promised within 7 working days.But after several weeks i did not received any follow up call or any communication on this. So, after a long waiting i got frustated and asked them to cancel the credit card for which they have given a reference no[protected].

I want that bank must not commit any thing which they cant give. Over which they have activated some pack due to which i need to pay the bill for RS 900. This become very frustating from customer side and due to which customer looses his trust towards all banking sector. I want the bank and the person who promised me on the offers to be penalized.

    I am holding a credit card of Standard Charted bank and they sold me Policy against that card which I wished to cancelled. But their representative says It should be cancelled later to obtain full amount. Now as days have passed they are not able to cancel the amount they promised and the Bank person who sold me that policy is not picking up the phone as well.

    Also the second Card they gave me saying I will get a Ticket free on the Purchase of one ticket. When I tried to purchase and avail the benefit they say offer is not available. While on purchasing they said scheme will not get cancelled.

    Its the worse credit Card experience I have ever faced from any bank and I will suggest all not to get a credit card of standard charted bank.

    Credit Card — FAKE PROMISES

    I Mohammed Mohiuddin and i am holder of icici bank credit card, And i am holding card more than three months, I applied for internet banking password more than 100 times through online, every time bank official said to me that your password has been dispatch you will get it in 7 days, but fail to deliver me. And i lodge a somany complain to icici bank senior officers but also vain. Once again I kindly request to icici bank, Please send my password as soon as possible.

      Hello,

      I have been using the credit card from standard chartered bank since more than 3 years. Two months back i made a partial payment in the card. The bill was 13500 Rs and i made the payment of 8500 Rs. Next month they put the interest charges of 1000 Rs and the total bill was 15600 Rs including other things. I made the full payment of 15600 within the payment due date.

      It was a big surprise for me when i saw the bill again and they levy another 1000 Rs as interest and 700 RS as late payment fees. I wrote a mail to head.[protected]@sc.com to know the reason. They mentioned we have put up the charges for the two month previous partial payment.

      Last time i had simillar issue and head.[protected]@sc.com worked well after lot of heated discussion but situation is worst now, they are not even ready to reply back.

      I dont understand even if we do the full payment how can they levy the charges like this and if they does then throughout the life they would be charging it for no obvious reason. I have also observed that in the name of some service tax intereset they charge extra every month eventhough the amount is less.

      I completely annoyed with this situation and i recommned not to use the Standard chartered bank credit card. Hopefully i will stop this card using soon.

      Standard Chartered Bank — extra charges

      Dear Sir,
      My name is Kewala Nanad Joshi, I belong to Almora , Uttarakhand, I have taken loan of 150,000/ from above mentioned bank and they paid me only 144,000 / and then they fix the instalment of 4383 per month for four years and that was going from my account through e payment. but last year I had to left Delhi and came to Nanital. suddenly the bank has increase the minimum balance limitfor saving A/c from 10 thousand to 25 thousand. Since I was not in Delhi I could not use their service so I refused to mentain that limit and they were agreed and they asked me to pay the instalment by cash before 15 of every month I have been regularily paying my instalment. but now I have received a call from them that they are asking for late payment charged after one year. for last one they have not said any thing.
      Now please sir guide what should I do . In face I have been paying them 18% interest already.

      I have also had very poor experience with Standard Chartered and ended up cancelling their card. I'd recommend escalating to the highest level within their company and if they do not respond, then raising it with the Banking Ombudsman.

      Once again these people has charge an interest of 644 Rs after paying the full amount last month. They dont deserve a bank with good bisness ethics.

      I am closing the card ..i Request to reader to do not use there cards.

        Hi All,

        Its really a disappointing behavior after following SCB officers from a quite long time. I have a salary A/C of SCB with TCS where as it was communicate us :-

        1 - Free International Credit card & 2500 reward points after activation of A/C.

        It's like you guys used some business tactics to pull the users. Right now with frustration i am going to cancel this card & put the same in online media where i can guide others not to select this bank. Where as no one respond to us even my Relationship Officer Vinod Kumar whose cell always seems ringing & Customer care people (Chadrasekar) behaved very unprofessionally. I am not ready to go for any follow up with you guys.

        Pls. guide me how to cancel this as i am not at interested with any service with SCB.
        I would take this issue with online consumer forums as well.

          I was holding a credit card of Standard Chartered bank.
          I have purchased a holiday package for 3N/4D from bank's telephonic sales department. 9 emi also paid by me and after that request to bank to cancel my package and refund me as per the terms. Bank executive informed me that as per terms paid amount can not be refund and i also agreed for that.
          in the statement of month august they have charged me Rs. 750.00 for annual fees and when i called at customer care to cancel the credit card because initially information was given that it is free of anuual fee. bank executive registered my request on telephone and assured me that i will receive verification call in 48 hours and my card will get cancelled after that but i did not received the verification call till today, even they have not inform me the reason why my request was not processed?
          Every month bank applies the late fees and penalty on card and amount made of Rs. 4776.24

          It was bank's duty to provide the perfect information to customer on time so customer can settle the account immediately.
          i have also send few email to bank but they have not provide correct information in their reply.
          and bank was going on increasing the outstanding amount by applying late fee and interest.

          i would like to get legal help against bank

          kindly suggest me the way or do the needful

            This is Gurmeet Singh. In Sep'05 i had used SCB Credit Card worth INR 7074.09/- which as per Bank's records, cheque payment got credited 15 days late after Due Date in Oct'05. I had deposited cheque well in time, don't know why this got credited Late in their System?

            Its these Late Charges & Interest Amount ~ INR 500/- in Oct'2005 which have become INR 41161/- till date. This Pending Payment came to my notice when i got my CIBIL-CIR Report.

            During these Last Eight Years, I had never received any Call/Mail/E-Mail from SCB bank, that i need to pay this due amount. Also, I have not used SCB Credit Card in these eight years (assuming Card is Closed as I have already paid due amount way-back). Bank has already closed this Card in 2006 but kept on charging interest and late charges without any notice/intimation to me.

            I approached SCB bank, DLF Cybercity Gurgaon Branch, Their Collection team is demanding INR 13000/- for obtaining No Due Certificate on this Credit Card. Is this amount Justified taking into consideration above mentioned facts?? Why should i pay so much amount for which i am not at fault??????

            Please help.

              Massages 1 - (10:11:38 PM, 18/02/2013) thank you for using standard credit card no. Ending 0910 on 18/02/2013 for EUR 97.89 for easy emi option on amounts above inr 5000, call[protected] t&C apply

              Massages 2 - (10:14:44 PM, 18/02/2013) thank you for using standard credit card no. Ending 0910 on 18/02/2013 for EUR 16.46 for easy emi option on amounts above inr 5000, call[protected] t&C apply

              Massages 3 - (10:16:38 PM, 18/02/2013) thank you for using standard credit card no. Ending 0910 on 18/02/2013 for EUR 112.52 for easy emi option on amounts above inr 5000, call[protected] t&C apply

              Unfortunately I never used my card for that shopping at that moment and before 7 days. I don’t have any idea who DID the shopping by using my card. I have been using this card for the last 1 year without any problem. It looks like fraudulent transaction and my card has been hacked by somebody. Even if I am using 2nd authentication screen (password protect) for any purchase, my card has been hacked. Already I have blocked the credit card. I have neither shared credit card information with anyone a password. Already I have send complaint letter to bank. I am not in a position to repay this amount which is not done by me. Please guide me how I can get help in this regard to waive this purchase amount by the bank. I’M awaiting your positive response from your side. I hope you will understand my problem.

                My Credit Card No: XXXX XXXX XXXX 4190

                This card is blocked around 5 to 6 months back and still I am receiving the statements. I want to know why this is happening. This card is blocked without any intimation. And it is linked with my ICICI prudential and I have faced so many problem due to this. I don’t know once again the card is activated even I don’t know that. When it is active status the Amount 2000/- is deducted from this card.

                One more main thing with this card is I have taken one pakage instabye, and that is converted into EIM every month around 370/-. Iam paying every month along with my credit card bill. One fine day I know that I need to pay this instabye account separately. That I dont know even the sales persons also not informed when I took this. I know when I have called to customer service. But because of this the late payment changes have been added on this card. Even I have not used this service. To discusses this I have called to customer service 3 to 4 times and asked them to transfer the call to higher authority and they have not transferred.

                Two days back I have received the call and they are asking you need to pay amount. I have explained each and every thing what happened exactly, they are not listening my words.

                I want to resolve this issue as soon as possible.

                  Since Standard Chartered Bank took over from Barclays Bank , they have not issued any card towards subject card number. As per SC Bank , the outstanding amount shown in the statement is incorrect . I have made only 10-15 % purchase of the subject card . The rest 80-85% amount of the outstanding amount is the interest component . More ever I have made major payment towards the card..Please do waive off the interest amount & requesting SC Bank to mail me the revised statement ( without interest component ).

                    I had a credit card of Standard Chartered, I have pay all the dues on time still my name has been put on CBILL because of which I am unable to get the top up loan on my existing personal loan. Could you please let me know as to why my name is shown under CBILL for it when I have paid all my dues in timely manner.
                    Hi Harish,

                    I am not from the bank but just another consumer. CIBIL is a repository or information store which provides certain information about a consumer to banks. There is no problem if your name is in CIBIL, the problem is if you have a less CIBIL score. I think the highest is 1000 and it keeps reducing if you have a bad credit history (overdues, cheque bounces, late payments). You can request a CIBIL score report from their website and look for what has happeded in your profile if you have a less score. I have did this before and it was really helpful to me. They do charge you for the report though.

                      As per the Shell Stores located next to Shell Petrol Bunks in Bangalore, there is no fuel surcharge is applicable on any Card transactions. This is true with most Credit cards. This is valid also, because we not only buy Fuel from these stores, we buy many other items.

                      I had 2 transactions on my Standard Chartered Credit card at these Stores and both the times the Fuel surcharge got added onto the Transaction amount, though the amount is not just for Fuel alone! When I called up the call centre, they confirmed that this amount can not be reversed and they will continue to apply this surcharge for Shell Stores!

                      Are there any Shell officials who can take this up and deal with?

                        I am using SCB Credit Card and i am really not satisfied with your bank.

                        Problem : ON 02-11, I GOT SCB SCB CREDIT CARD and at the time of open/making credit card in your bank, Your executive told me " sir there is no annual fees , its totally free" , but after 1 year when i got statement of FEB'2012 , in that Rs.750/- charged for Annual Fee .

                        I had register complaint in your Call center on March-2012 and they had REVERSAL of Rs.750/- in next month statement (March'2012)

                        And Again after 1 Year when i got Statement of FEB'2013, you are charging ANNUAL FEES of Rs.750/-

                          Dear Sir/Madam
                          My credit card ending 2200 has since being locked by Standard Chartered Bank. I have been receiving messages regarding nonpayment of dues in respect to this credit card whereas the payment of Rs. 8,485/- due against this card has already been made by me and has also been acknowledged vide statement dated 7th February 2013 issued by the bank.

                          I have also made an online complaint vide reference number KMM[protected]LOKM in this regard as well as requesting for my refund of credit balance amounting to Rs. 115,246.81/- against my credit card number [protected]. Receipt of this complaint has been acknowledged vide email dated 20th February 2013. But to date the same has not been done.

                          I have spoken to executives of the bank several times though they have assured me positive response but no outcome so far. May I request you to take up the matter at the earliest and ensure proper refund and reinstatement of my card.

                            As per my telephonic conversation with Ms.Jayanti we have lodged a complaint with number : [protected]

                            I had confirmed it with the bank with the lounge names whether I have a free entry or no.

                            I was confirmed that if I am carrying my Priority Pass I would just be charged a dummy transaction of Rs.25/- only then I choose to enter the Lounge. Moreover I didnt even give my Credit Card , I just gave my Priority Pass , so how can you charge me without me presenting my credit card?

                            Whereas I have today recieved a statement which shows a payable amount of Rs.4070/- whereas the last date for payment was 10th Nov 2012

                            I want to inform that I am not making the payment under protest and I am not ready to pay for someone else's mistake
                            I hereby demand for reversal of these charges ASAP

                            Now Im requesting them to atleast give me a break up of all the cahrges levied into my account but still no reply from them

                              Hi,

                              I acquired a personal loan from Standard Chartered in April 2011 and until now the EMIs were collected through cash as the bank notified me that there was an issue with the ECS request or the bank MICR code. I received a response from ICICI, where the ECS request was made for EMI debit that Standard Chartered placed the ECS request only on December 2012. For all the EMIs I have paid until now, Standard Chartered collected a fine as late fee from me, I would like to get this money back including the Rs.1000 I paid to ICICI and Standard Chartered last month. This is to inform you that I had received an sms from Bank (LM-STANCH) stating that I have made transaction of Rs 18943.85 on 28th Feb 10:30 PM bu the transaction was not done by me and as asked in the sms to reply by entiering digit 2 i[censored]nauthorised I had replied with 2 also which was also suggested by Customer service officer . Just after sending sms received call fronm + 401 but not able to communicate even after 10 mins holding.
                                  2. Again called to Customer service officer asked to block my card as per him same has been done.
                                  3. 3rd call to Customer service officer again came to know that one more transaction of Rs 17000 (approx ) has been done, sms for which was received on 1st March 13:30 PM mentioned that ( Transaction for GBP 228.27 has been done processed without addtional factor of authentication that is prescribed by RBI) which was also not done by me.

                                  4. Calling Customer service officer again resulted in him saying that the identification can only happen after 48 Hrs.

                                  This is an fraud transaction which has happened on my card and request your kind not to charge any amount in the monthly billing for the same as well as stop the transfer of amount to merchant for these 2 unauthenticated transactions immediately..

                                  Even after doing instat call to customer card they have not stop payments to merchant

                                    I got a call from a sales executive of standard chartered bank to apply for a credit card. After i applied for the same i made a purchase of rs 1200 for which I did not recieve any statement from the bank. After a couple of months i got a statement from the bank with a due amount of Rs 2500 including charges of Rs 1300 for returned cheque. After my investigation with the bank I realised that my crefit card has been linked with my standard chartered Account which I have already closed a year and half back which obviously had no balance.

                                    I have a couple of ques:

                                    How can thr bank do an ecs without my permission and that too with an account which has been closed long back? Is this the way by which the bank have been making money?

                                      In ITO Branch , of Standres charted bank a employee ( Mr. Jagdish ) is getting harassed by his manager ( Mr. Malik ) . Harrasment was in shape of Over loading of Work , late hours Sitting, work presuure , insult of others, and so many theses types of activitys. so the employee is gettind day to day mental diorders. he was so worried about his job. he was doing his job for his family. He had a mother, a little daughter his wife and one younger Brother. But after a limit of getting this garrasment his health going down suddenly and he was absunt around 20 to 25 dyas.when he came to the office he was fully distrubed by mentally. his seriuosly mental conditions he was not used to spend a good time with his family, he forgotted all works of office and also his major contacts his detaisl .

                                      then his family decide to give the resign. after one week of resign this shock to getr a new job or his mental disorders he had expired yesterday ( 27.03.2013 ) .

                                      Its all becuse of His MAnager . Its not a way to handle the employee at this level . Now who will be the responsible of Family's take care.

                                      MAnager should not be like Mr. Malik. if Manager should be sincere , loyal and humenity is the most effective constraints.

                                      all should take the ghard action against this. otherwise it can be happen again with any other employee.
                                      A person Mr. Anand Chaturvedi staying in my building has taken a loan from the bank and has fradulently given my telephone number. Now the bank knows that we are just staying in the same building and still keeps on calling us. They ask us to call them or else we we have to pay the money. We have had no information of our number being given to standard chartered bank for any purpose. if this call continues then I will have no option but to file a police complaint. please ensure that I do not get any call from your bank. we get a call from standard chartered bank goregoan.

                                        I am Thirumalai Srinivasan from Bangalore. I am holding SCB Credit card. In the last month I made a payment for Rs.1700.00 to my supplimentary credit card. As per their collection department while making cash payment, we can give either one credit card number and while processing the payment, they will credit it to both Primary and supplimentary cards according to the due, and it was happened in that way, before also.

                                        But now the last payment was totally credited to my supplimentary card instead of both and they charged late payment fees of Rs.350.00 to my primary card.

                                        When I called and asked the customer care department and their grivance cell two weeks before, they said the will reverse the late payment charges.

                                        However, I received a letter generated on 27.02.08, stating my primary card is overdue and it was already blocked by them without informing me.

                                        I belive this is not a good practice and always there is a poor response from their customer side. They are not co-operating with customers.
                                        i am rajesh, when i applied for the credit card the bank who issuing the c.card that iam defaluter so that they cannot issue me the c.card, but iam haveing a car loan &4 personal loan which about 10 lakh till day i payed all the E M I properly.
                                        Thru my personal intrest i infulens my self i find out that standard charted bank made me in defulter list in CIBIL, i dont have any transcation in the above mention bank so kindly persula my complaint

                                        it is regarding the credit card that was issued to me. since i had returned the card and mentioned that i do not wish to continue since some DSA had promised that no charges will be levied to me as fee. but i was sent a payment reminder. also this card was provided to me basis my existing card to which some amount was due. i had to take a personal loan and had made all the effort to clear te outstanding BUT the bank without any notice decided to apportion the amount and credit it to my gold card, which in all means is UNFAIR. I have tried explaining this issue several times. If the bank decides to apportion on its own judgement, I believe the bank is not reflecting the "TRUST" element in its fairness. Just because I hold a corporate account, I am being sent a letter that the amount due will be credited to my account. I want this issue to be resolved asap. am not a defaulter with your bank, i have a home loan running with the bank for past 4 years, you may wish to check the records.

                                        I Mohan Nair lodged a complaint on 28/06/2008 on your email Id head .[protected]@in.standardchartered.com regarding the above mentioned cards. There was no response from them and I was told by your helpline to contact you . The details are as follows:-

                                        I am holding the above Gold & Visa Credit Cards of your bank for the last 10 years, having combined credit limit to Rs 2, 00, 000/-. Further Titanium card was issued to me in the month of Feb 2008 canceling GOLD & VISA Cards with some added features with assurance that the credit limit of Rs 2, 00, 000/- will be available for this Titanium Card for which you have debited Rs 5000/- from my A/c. as one time special fees. Today on 30th June 2008 when I got credit card statement through my email I am shocked to see that my credit limit has been reduced from 2, 00, 000/- to 10, 000/- without assigning any reason . The phone banker when contacted by me could not give any satisfactory reply.

                                        Please let me know why my Credit limit has been reduced with out informing me and why Rs 5000/- was debited to my card A/c for a limit of just Rs 10, 000/- only. In the day-today market of competition when every bank is offering free life time Gold or Titanium card with higher credit limit, why I should not return my card to the bank for cancellation.

                                        I regret to say that why this treatment was given to me in spite of our long relationship of more than 10 Years

                                        If I do not receive any satisfactory reply at the earliest from the bank I will presume that bank is not interested in building relationship with the card holder.

                                        Kindly look into this matter seriously and arrange enhancement of my Credit Card limit to Rs 2, 00, 000/-

                                        I am having saving account in your Gurgaon branch. I have taken one credit card from your bank. After some time I have taken one scheme also. I t was misguided by your customer care people. When I went to take benifit I was not satisfied. So I requested to customer care to block my credit card & scheme. I did partial payment for scheme and and cleared outstanding payment also. But I refused to pay full payment which was for scheme. Your customer care people ensured me for that. After that again I recieved the bill. I again called up to customer people. They told me that your complant is registered. They have given me complaint no. also. The problem was not resolved and still I was recieving bill on my mail. I become used to ignored those mail that because I was fadup from all that.
                                        All that was so many months back. I have changed my residential during these days and number also. As this problem was not resolved so I did not take care also for that I was very frustrated fom that.
                                        Now today when I went to ATM to withdraw the cash, I came to know that my account is blocked. I called up again to customer care people but they told me that your outstanding is due. I again explain all things to Ms. Ritika (Customer care) & Mr. Shabir (Team leader).                                         Please also note that payment of the entire outstanding amount of Rs 195386.34 referred in the aforesaid letter has been duly paid by me as per the payment schedule described therein, i.e. a down payment of Rs 17000/- followed by 11 monthly instalments of Rs 16216.94.

                                        We are surprised to find that on 31/05/2010 you have reported to Credit Information Bureau ( India) Ltd ( CIBIL) my default against my Credit Card dues at your bank.

                                        Further, you have reported default of the same amount of Rs 195914/- to CIBIL against the Supplementary Card issued in the name of my wife, Shafali Ghosh. This is a duplicate reporting of default against a single card, which was paid as per terms of settlement as stated above.

After this there was no call from the bank. About a week back i got a call from Shaha Finlease Pvt. ltd. stating the the outstanding is 2,97,000.00 for there 9 Years and asking for the settlement of Rs.41000.00. I have requested them to send the complete transaction statement, which they were not able to send. So please suggest me the best way.

                                        Sales people have a target to achieve at the end of the day and will do any thing to have it achieved. What you need to realize is that some insurance agent has used your card to apply for a policy in your name. To rectify this issue you will need to call the insurance company and have the policy closed.                                         Why Standard Chartered Bank Sending me Bill while i have broke that card One year back as per customer Care Instruction and drop in Box, because i got some false information from executive when i got details docs from Bank, i read that and i found that some annual charges for this Credit Card.

                                        This is to bring to your notice that I, Monika Choudhary is being harassed by the Standard Chartered Bank. I had a credit card from them some 9 years ago that is when i started working, must have been 23- 24 straight out of college with the first job and credit card, so had no clue about banking, finances etc. I got that credit card because of the company i was working in. It was given to all the employees who joined. It was a additional income kind of thing for me. I realised quite late that its not a boon but a bane. I was being harassed at that time also when I couldnt pay up the amount due to them so I closed the account settled the entire amount and got my credit card blocked. End of story.
                                        But it did not end there after 9 years in 2011 they (the recovery agents) are coming back and harassing me that at that time i did not pay some 139 rupees to the bank so now after all these years the interest has amounted to Rs. 1, 31, 154 so now I am suppose to pay the bank this amount because I could not pay the meagre 139 rupees at that time! They are also saying that I did make a 1000 rupees payment to the bank and asked them to close the account. But I dont understand why will a person pay 1000 rupees and just not pay 139 rupees, because he or she will get pleasure of not paying up 139 rupees? So that the bank can come back after 9 years and say boss you did not pay 139 rupees at that time so now with all the interest you have to pay 1 lakh 31 thousand rupees!
                                        I cannot pay the amount even if i want to because firstly I'm not employed anymore, as due to recession the company shut down the brand i was working for in 2009. So past 2 years i am jobless. I got married recently and hence now im financially dependent on my husband and he too doesnt earn that well that he can pay off the debt. Plus i have no investments and savings left because it all got consumed in the wedding as my parents were unable to take care of everything themselves (my father is retired).
                                        Please advise the way forward as they have my phone numbers and address and they are harassing me and my family.

                                        Chartered Bank Credit Card (No. [protected]) which was settled on 24th
                                        June 2005 forRs. 7500/- paid by cash to the bank. Even after the settlement,
                                        the bank continued to show me as a defaulter and kept on adding the outstanding
                                        charges. This was reflected in my poor cibil ratings and let to a denial of a
                                        personal loan application to Axis Bank on 9th May 2014.

                                        to Standard Chartered Bank on 10th June 2014 with the copy of the settlement
                                        letter and payment receipt. With many further follow ups they accepted their faults
                                        and ultimately corrected the records and informed cibil that outstanding
                                        against the aforesaid card was zero on 1st July 2014. Cibil correctly updated
                                        their records and informed me the same on 4th July 2014.
                                        Extremely poor service by Standard Chartered Bank. I had to face huge humiliation and loss for not getting the money at the right time. Need to comenstate for their mistake.
