Tata Photon Plus has quietly reduced its speed beyond free/bundled usage from 155kbps to a meagre 64kbps for Rs.700 prepaid plan & 128kbps for Rs.850 & Rs.1000 prepaid plans which is disgusting.It is not all suitable for today's intutive online applications & movie,games,music downloads which demands more speed.Also I think I am not getting value for money.Its competitors are providing satisfactory value for money plans.The Authorities should fix 256kbps as the minimum speed-which defines the broadband speed in India.Hope the authorities will consider increasing the minimum speed.

i cannot agree more...forget about downloading its taking me ages to open a page!!! If you guys are listening you should definitely do something about it.

    Dear Sir,
    I am a photon plus user for the last 3 months.In this month my plan is 10 GB unlimited plan. When my usage reached 8 GB, they have capped my speed to 128 kbps without any confirmation. I gave 3 online complaints about the issue and I have contacted the customer care for 5 times. Their behaviour was unexpected. Some of the guys are saying that my usage has been crossed 10 GB. But, actualy, my usage was only 8 GB. When I contacted the customer care, they have also confirmed the same thing and promised that it will be corrected within 2 days.. But, after 5 days also, the issue was not resolved.. They are saying that "Whatever you can do", when I told them that I will complaint to the consumercomplaints. Please deal with this issue

    hey man, is it the speed u get in torrent downloads coz even i get the same speed : max : 10kbps while downloading torrent files.
    They are shaping the traffic for torrent softwares. It is a common practise to put a cap on p2p softwares in the Western countries.But atleast they admit that they do it, but here in india, these guys clandestinely put a cap on unlimited plans.
    lets get together and kick their !
    trust me we will win!

    All we have to do is get in touch with as many people as possible here who are victims.

      Hello Sir, I have purchased TATA PHOTON WHIZ usb modem5 months ago. I heard that TATA PHOTON has very good speed. But, when I hv started using it, I got so upset using it. Its speed is so slow. I decided to sell it to anybody else bcaz of low speed. but i am not getting that much prise bcaz every1 says that they dont want TATA PHOTON WHIZ. So pls tell me what should i do with it. bcaz of slow speed i am not getting the updates of Antivirus which costs 1000 Rs. so pls help me to improve the speed.

      low speed ( less then 153 kbs) of tata photon whiz in ---housing board , kumbha nagar , chittorgarh.
      last week we are buy TATA Photon Whiz AC8720 but there speed is not good acording his specification.we are very harced by its service responce.
      this connect is very low
      my money is very loss online recharge not support my tataphotonwhiz connection it is too bad for me

        Dear Sir,
        My name is Aditya Gulati , I had purchase tata photon plus [protected] last month. but the internet surfing and downloading speed that i am getting is very low and not what they advertise. I have complained in the past and they told me that their system is showing good speed on my connection while i am not getting the same speed. Sir either tell them to stop giving wrongful information in advertisement or improve my speed.
        Also they told me that the instrument will work all over india, while thats not the case . it is not working in Haryana.
        Also they emailed my account information in which they gave me a number to call on in case of any problem which is[protected] which is not correct number.
        sir, i would like to disconnect my connection but now that i have bought their instrument , i am stuck.
        This is unfair and unexpected from such a reputed company.

          i beg to say that i have to pay my tata photon whiz bill for the month of november.but the office where i use to pay the bill is closed from 25 days.so i could not pay my bill for november and the bill for december is also issued but my internet connection is disconnected from 29 nov 2010.so sir what action i have to take for this .

          TATA Photon Whiz — Billing

          Dear Sir/Madam,

          I have got connection of Tata Photon Vhiz on 23rd Sep 09 and offer was given me for Two months free/unlimited data usage, so idealy offer should be valid till 23rd Nov 09 but as per my current bill they billed from 21st Nov 09 to 20 Dec 09 instead of 23rd nov 09!!! this two days amount increased a lot to me and as new customer they did not informed to me before!!!
          I have tried to clarify on helpline but I did not got satisfactory awnser from them...

          I have taken my Rs.299 (Night 11;00 Pm to 7:am unlimited free) plan, right from the begining of new connection which i had taken and in the very next month automatically the plan has been changed from 299 to 399.           I was using TATA Photon wireless Internet and i lost my device and i made a complaint to block the device and i have made my final payment. I have told that i paid my final bill but i lost the receipt and it was not updated probably and i asked them to give me a call back once they verify it properly. But without informing anything they sent a advocate notice to my house. I don't mind paying the bill again but i have to come to chennai and then only i can pay will there be any problem if i pay by this month end. And i should not receive anymore notice from the their law firm.

          Myself saurabh kumar on dated 11.06.13 and 12.06.13 my mobiles no- [protected] balance was nil, after 3G recharge and i call customer care but he don't pick my phone and disconnect my phone without satisfactory answer . Money does not matter it was a serious case because use many peoples TATA DOCOMO service, i m capable for online complaints to this FAKE telecom company, but any uneducated person do not have handle this situation.this is a clear cheating case, and i hope you understand my problem and put this matter infront of tata docomo

            I have recently bought TATA Photon+ with Olive V-ME101, a high speed internet application. The Photon+ guy came and installed it, but the signal was not received in my computer (my friend the next street got it installed and working fine). He uninstalled it, and tried to reinstall, but he could not reinstall it...it was detecting the device but clicking the Autorun would not open the installation wizard. When I plugged out and plugged in, it would detect the device, but says the device is installed and ready to use. I have tried to remove the program completely through Control Panel, still it did not help. The guy who came knew only to install it and did not know anything apart from that. He has stopped receiving my calls, the photon distributor's office in my place also are not responding properly. they say people will attend my complaint but are not attending.

            The TATA Teleservices customer care itself is in question now... Why don't they have the right people for the right job? My account is activated, but my modem is not installed. Why should I pay the bill then....which will come promptly to my address at the correct date. Why should I be charged for not using any service of theirs? I hope my plea will be forwarded to the right person so that I can get my problem solved.

            Hi,
            I am having the same problem. It took them 7 days just for the tech guy to call me and ask my problem.
            I don't know how they run the business but it all seems to be a big fraud, they promise you that it will get resolved in 2 days.Finally I had to raise my voice just to make them do something about it.

            The tech guy told me that the software had problems with the 64 bit Windows 7.
            If they knew it had problems then did they sell it in the first place.
            I feel like i'm robbed of my money, the least they could do is refund my money.

                As promised before purchase of tata photon plus modem, it is being adiced that customer will get 2.1 MBPS speed but the speed is 130 KBPS. I have raised 2 complaints about the speed and also requested to stop the services until the issue is fixed.

                First complain raised on 4 Dec 2010 - Poor network speed - they adviced the issue will get resolved by 15 Dec 2010, still the issue is not resolved.

                Second Complain raised on 17 Dec 2010 - The connectivity was still the same and requested to stop the services and service should not be billed from 4th Dec 2010.

                I requested tata photon to get the Modem back and refund the mony ie. Rs.1999. They have not responded back yet.

                Please help.

                Tata Photon+ — pathetic network

                my broad band is not working at all.i lodge the complains two times at customer care but no resolution from them.
                so i urge the complaint forum to take effective action against the company.They totally misguiding the customers.please help.............

                Thanks for your response, I just want to raise a concern at this platform that the sales team should not convince the customers to purchase the connection if it is known to tataphoton sales team that a particular area is not having adequate bandwidth to provide the required speed as promised. As in this case when i logged a complain then engineer said that Kalewadi/chinchwad area is not having required bandwidth in ratio of the customer.

                My Tata Indicom connection number is [protected]. alternative number is [protected]. Email address is dharmendra.p.[protected]@gmail.com. Again i would request to get the modem back and refund the money as I am not at all happy with the response received at the moment.

                This is the worst service I have ever seen, as tata indicom guys has mentioned I have raised my concern on given mail I'd and already registered two complains as mentioned in my initial mail regarding speed issue but I didn't get even a call from Tata indicom customer care.

                Please don't go with this service anymore, this company should be sue in court.

                  my whiz no is[protected] and on 16th december i purched photonplus the dealer told me scheme is that when u purchase photonplus whiz will be automaticlly diactivated and 1500 will be adjusted in ur bills 125Rs in each bill and i purchased the same at Rs2499 on 16/12/2010 neither photon plus activated nor whiz stop function and i told customer care the refused the scheme and said u must talk dealer but the dealer is not picking phone and avoids my call my photon plus no is [protected]
                  Hello Tata indicom, you guys have just a Content ready and do a copy paste everytime against each complaint. Don't cheat customers over here without action on the complains.

                    I am using tata photon+ from last 1 year. Now i changed my location of residence near SKIT college But here is Photon+ works fine for some time but it suddnely it goes at 0.0Kb not internet access. I called Tata customer care they came back to me after 4-5 days they tested signals. And said me that network team will contact you shortly. but no response till date i called back today (after 7 days) to customer care they said me that matter closed. they written in notes that there is no coverage so use photon whiz...LOL!!! Personally i am saying if photon+ not working near jaipur's Most popular engineering colleges then why photon+ launching schemes for students. I talked with SKIT college students about this matter they tell me that we buyed Photon+ prepaid but now we don't recharge because here is No Speed access in our college.

                    Most important palaces where students Leaving is Tonk phatak And jagatpura (SKITCAMPUS, GYAN VIHAR UNIVERSITY, VIT CAMPUS), SEEDLING COLLEGE.

                    IF NO SOLUTION MY FINAL DECISION IS TO DISCONNECT PHOTON+ .

                      My Tata photon Id is: [protected].

                      I am deeply saddened by the response by Tata teleservices. The service has been pathetic. Its been months . Every month I pay 1000 rs recharge for my prepaid tata photon plus and promised 3.1 Mbps 5GB and 155 later unlimited for 30 days.

                      BUT I ONLY GET 155KBPS and the speed is so slow. It is not even 155 kbps. Kindly look into it. My money is being wasted.

                        I have used [protected]@2GB plus [protected]@200/- for night usage last month.

                        Today i got the the bill of rs 2008/- , Which claims i used just 923 Mb during the night and used remaining 3967Mb in the day(total download = 4890/-). But it is just rubbish. I used internet most of times in night and i will be in the office in the day time. even downloading i keep it in the night. but the bill says exactly opposite. Where as the fact is i just used 1500MB to 2000MB during normal timing and remaining 1500MB to 2000MB i used is the addon timing. Thus actually i should get the bill which might come around 1000/- rupees, where as it is actually 2008 rupees.

                        I request Tata photon not to make false and fake policies and sue the peoples money.

                          Tata Photon — My Service not activated

                          Hello Sir/Madam,
                          I'm Ashutosh using tata photo+ service and I'm new customer (having service till 19 days). They've provide me the bill amount in installment by mail/alert. I've done online payment (1382/- on 2nd Oct, 491/- on 5th Oct and 2236/- on 6th Oct) total amount I've paid Rs. 4109/-. Still they've not activated my service. I've all the transaction ref. no. related to my payment. Also I've called to CC (Customer-care) 10-12 times. Two time they've generate a request no. against this issue for me and answered me that "In next two hour your service would be activate". Strill I'm getting problem and 45 hours has crossed but my service has not activate yet. Still I've not get any reponse on those request no. which they've generated for my problem. Also they've not provided me better solution and provide me new time durtaion, but not get any useful solution.

                          Please assist me, what shoud I do in this case?

                            What a Fake devide Tata is providing. Last 5 months I am getting speed 100kbps and download speed= 7kbps. I have called so many times to customer care executives and they told me to uninstall and install everytime. Till now I have installed 20 times, but the issue has not been resolved yet.

                            At last they logged a issue on On 30st Oct. After 2 days Tata engg visited to my home and measured the speed i.e. 240 kbps and download speed is 10 kbps. On the next day, how did you confirm that it has been resolved? Nextday i measured today with Steedtest.net and got the speed= 160 kbps. What a fake
                            system the tata have?

                            Still I am giving more than 1000 rupees per month for 7 kbps speed. Is this
                            expected from a user to take such amount with this rate of speed?

                            Is there any otherway to go to court?

                              Hi Tata photon,

                              I am using 650 with 1 GB plan during month.
                              Last month I was using 750/- plan.
                              During the first month of my connection i was using 650/- plan then shifted to 750/- plan.Now shifted back to 650/- plan.

                              What i observed during these periods is, during the 650/- my speed of internet connection is slow, but when i shifted to 750/- it was normal, but again i shifted back to 650/-, now again my internet connection has become slow. i raised twice a compliant during my last 650 plan period about this issue, but they just checked it but did nothing. now i am facing the same problem.

                              So i feel you are providing the service in double standard for different customers. even though you claim, speed of internet for both tariff(650/- and 750/-) is same. but in reality for 650 plan you give less speed and for 750/- the more speed.

                              I request tata photon not to do double standards based on the prices.

                                I am writing this for those who are planning to buy tata photon. Here is my story.
                                I got a tata photon card with the purchase of LCD TV. I was told I need to pay Rs 999/- and that's all I can use it for 3 months free. I had confirmed with the dealer as well while buying. But to my surprise in the first month only a bill has been generated(dec 2, 2010). When I called the customer service they gave me a ticket and said we will resolve in 2 days. It is dec 14. No resolution. Everyday I need to call and follow up. There is a mail from from tata indicom (see bellow). When they cannot keep up the SLA they should shut down there business. I have been talking to a senior person name Salima. She is also absconding. Sincere advice DO NOT fall into there trap.

                                  Hi, I am an employee in Accenture Services Pvt. Ltd.

                                  I went through the tata photon website and ordered the device on 29th Nov, 2010.
                                  The device was sent to me within 2 hrs.
                                  I submitted my DL and the notary of my rent agreement. At that time, the dealer said that no problem, things would be done.
                                  Later, the next day he called and said that the notary cant be accepted and we need to give any relative's local address proof in that case.
                                  We then gave the Ration Card copy of our relative. Then again, we were told that the device would now start by 3rd Dec.
                                  when it didn't, I called Pravin who said that there is a technical problem, it would work on the next day.
                                  This continued for 5 days more.
                                  Finally, when I shouted at him, he finally said that it wont start as now, the ration card would also not work.
                                  At this, I asked him to reimburse the money. He said ok.
                                  After that i everyday called him to get the money back and he everyday said that the things would be done the next day.
                                  This continued till 12th Dec.
                                  After that he stopped picking my calls.
                                  With every new number I used to call, he used to cut the call the next time.
                                  Finally, I asked him what this was (through a message) and he said he wont refund the money, I do whatever I can.

                                  Kindly address the problem as this is just negatively affecting the company's repo.

                                  Please let me have my money back as soon as possible.

                                      This is pertaining TATA PHOTON PLUS connection that I bought on Dec 4th 2010.

                                      Whenever i connect the Modem (USB Stick) to my PC and after all the require installation it prompts an error stating "CONNECTION TERMINATED".

                                      Also logging complaint with Customer care doesn't seems to be working for me as there isn't any response from TATA side. Call center promised to send a Technician at 8.30 on Friday 9th Dec but no one turned. I again called on Dec13th early morning and was promised a technician would visit today itself. But alas no one turned up.

                                      Whenever I call the customer care the incumbent every time conveys that this has been taken care and engineer will surely visit for resolving the same. The first time the agent hung up the phone. I had to call 3 times to manage to get to the supervisor who promised to escalate and waiting yet.

                                      The call center also told me that irrespective of when I the internet service is actually activated by Tata, the 30 day validity will start from Dec 4th. What a rip off!

                                      Is this the famed TATA brand name & service?

                                      Either Tata Photon shud start my service immediately & start the validity date from the day service is activate or they should refund my money and take back the USB stick!

                                        Hi All,

                                        I have purchased Tata Photon Whiz - unlimited plan. Tata Indicom sales promised 153Kbps. After connecting the modem, net was activated for 2-3 minutes. Then it was deactivated itself. i had tried all possible ways without success. I have given 4 complaints (Nos.[protected],[protected],[protected] and[protected] to customer care, but no use. I have checked the speed during first couple of minutes when it get connected by using various online speed tests. I have found the speed is around 10-50 Kbps.

                                        I want to disconnect it and am thinking of filing a case in consumer court.

                                        I am also having the same problem!!! I disconnected the connection today only. I had following problems.

                                        1/ Very slow net speed (11.3 kbps surfing speed & 2 kbps down load speed.)

                                        2/ They could not solve the problem in 10 visits (Approx 6 hours free stay at my home with free water) and then blame it to my Latest laptop & antivirus (Strange!!!)

                                        3/ The person whom they call a service engineer is not an engineer I know more than him and some time I give him tips to resolve others problem (Shame on them!!! now onwards I will call his service layman)

                                        4/ Now I will describe how do the service layman solve the problem (a) open the site www.abeltronica.com (b) check the surfing speed (c) If the surfing speed is above 25 kbps the customer is not having any problem even if the service layman himself is not able to open his gmail & rediff accounts (Funnnny!!!) (d) go back to tata indicom office and close the complaint (closing complaint means I have visited the customer doesnt matter if customer is happy or not)

                                        5/ Now on every 14th they will call and tell me pay the bills (for the services which I could not avail due to their pathetic network). how shameless are they??

                                        I am happy that I got rid of their pathetic services

                                        Your service resolution is again even more pathetic. He called me and asked what problem I am facing and then apologized that they are not capable (or incapable) of resolving my problem and asked the permission for closing the complaint which was logged by you.

                                        Now It is clear that you cant give good services at Jamshedpur, so Jamshedpur people beware of TATA Indicom.
