I regret I should have checked reviews before, this device is pile of sheet. Dont waste your money in buying it, better go for any wired broadband. I am paying ~900 PM and always had a trouble,during normal

human hours(not talking about midnight!) this device hardly gives 15KBps, some time even simple ping doesn’t work. If I report a problem then tata executive visits my place 2-3 time and then no improvement, lately they installed antenna at my place but still it sucks, same speed,now I m going to burry it down and buy new wired broadband. Actually this guys are tricking people, speed they bost and advertise on TV is approximately true when only few users connected to their base statition, but that cant be a case in india, so it’s never going to work. Also when they give a demo, or want to close a ticket some how they trick the speed of you device and from next day its same again!

      I did the online data recharge for Photon Plus on 11th March. The money got deducted from bank account but it did not get recharged at all. After 2/3 days I called customer care[protected] again they gave me the max resolution date as 21st March (before 21st they will recharge), but nothing happened till 22nd. I finally called helpdesk again which gave me some other number to call. I called the other number [protected] and got the msg "your resuest could no be completed" : such a great service!!!!
      Its been 11 days I am sitting without internet connection at home.

      I am facing the same issue. I tried to Recharge my Photon Plus using the link mentioned on their website which is http://www.ichoose.in/etrade/recharge.jsp and it diverted me to RechrgeItNow.com. I made the payment which got debited from my account and then the website did not respond.

      Do try to call their toll free helpline number[protected] which is such a joke right now. Try to navigate through their IVR options and for first 5 minutes you'll laugh and then slowly you start getting angry as none of their options take you anywhere. Call from any number and without even asking any of your details they will say that your outstanding is Rs 52 :)

      Anyways, lets see how much time do they take to revert my money or activate my connection.

        I have bought a Tata Photon Prepaid connection in Feb'11 and refilled it with Rs.650/- givinga usage of 1GB.

        On 18th March 2011, I had only syncronised my email outlook (where I recd 4 mails, average size 20 kb and sent 2 mails average size 20 kb). I did not surf the net at all.

        This has been happening since I have taken this connection.
        I am in a confusion as to whether to continue with this connection or throw away this device.

        Hope this is resolved asap.

          Tata Photon Whiz Modem — Overbilling and Not cancelling

          I was user of Tata photon wiz number-[protected] and account no[protected] by name of Vinay kumar prasad.I had given request for Cancillation and stop billing as a response received on docket number[protected] on 7 th june.After that again i have received on message for settlment of dues with amount of 970. I have paid this amount against settlment the acknowledge number of payment reciept is-MSDCO[protected].Inspite of cancillation agian tata indicum is producing bill and sending on my mail ID every month.Now i am using prepaid of TATA PHOTON PLUS modem number-[protected] by the same name Vinay kumar prasad.Why i will pay the zero uses Tata photon wiz number-[protected] and account no[protected].Please stop my billing and cancil the wiz no-[protected].This is a overbilling by company for zero uses modem.Please take a neccessary action as soon as possiible.

            I do stay in the heart of Pune city(near deccan) and I have got a Tata Photon Plus connection few months ago. The average speed I was getting was somewhere near to 250kbps. I launched my cpmplaint with concerned departmen and they send an engineer to visit my place. He examined the speed of connection and taken few screenshots which clearly mentioned that my speed was varying between 90kbps(min) to 300kbps(max). After noting down the speed, the engineer disappeared from my place saying that complaint will be resolved in 24 hours. After waiting for couple of days, I again called up customer care for status of my complaint where I got a shocking answer saying your complaint has been closed as you are getting correct speed of 300kbps. This is accepted speed and we can not do anything further on it. I immidiatly closed off my connection on the same day but it's really surprising to know the answer of concerned department.
            If 300 kbps is what Iwill get in the central area of the city then there is no point of getting such connections.

              My name is santosh and my tata photons number is [protected]...No one supporting me i have raised so many complaints no update...

              last month i got a call from delhi customer serivces they told they provinding new connection (tataphons) for 17000 only and unlimited.access...but i told them that i have airtel postpaid connection address proof only because i was new in bangalore... they told ok... I paid 1700 and got the connection

              but after 7 days also my connection is not started, when i checked it they told i need to submit another address proof. then I submitted my rental agreement also they asked 100 extra also and i paid 100 also
              waited for another 5 days but my connection is not activated...

              I already paid 1700 and got the devices not able to use since last 1 month... what is use?

              Please some one ( Tata phots) can help me

This time show my account wrong 18 march 2011 usage show my account difference . my account unbill show 349 mins or internet meter show 315 mins. so your my account show wrong information . so how to believe your bill is right. plz explain me. i had Proved your sent me wrong bill. this problem check your system.

                I've logged a complaint since 3 Mar with customercare.[protected]@tatatel.co.in, Done three mails to the nodalofficer.[protected]@tatatel.co.in. But seems nobody is interested to work on my complain.
                Even my complaint has been closed WITHOUT my permission and consent.
                I have explained the issue to the customer care for about 8-10 times wasting hours on calls. Spent 1.5 hour at the Tata agency - company outlet from where I got this device.
                It has been enough of my patience testing now. Finally I've decided to raise the matter to the consumer complaint forum. I hope it’ll be useful in some way.
                The complaint number is:[protected].
                Summary of the issue:
                I bought an ACER Laptop on the box of which it is mentioned:
                "Ask for your Tata Photon Plus at just Rs 750/-.Also get free additional usage benefits up to Rs 2500/-"
                The explanation of the statement was given like-
                This gift is applicable only on Rs 650/- postpaid monthly rental plan. 5 months rent becomes = Rs 650/-*5=Rs 3250/- out of which 2500/- is off and hence you are asked to pay the balance of Rs 750/- now, take your device and enjoy the free 1GB usage every month for the first 5 months.
                I took the connection on 28th Dec, and this month the monthly rental bill has been generated and EVERYBODY from the Tata Photon side (except the Agency from where I took the device and applied for the connection) is denying for any such offer/promises done to any of their customers. Now they are trying to put the whole blame on that Tata Agency. Whereas the ACER laptop box is still with me that reads out the offer in a very clear way.
                Even if I am ready to accept that no monthly rental freedom of 5 months is there, Tata Photon department has nothing to explain me regarding the offer statement clause: “Also get free additional usage benefits up to Rs 2500/-“
                I'd be very much thankful is this forum can provide me any help from the torture this Tata Photon people are providing me for paying the amount that they’ve falsely charged against me.
                I can provide all the mails, interaction IDs of almost all the calls that I've received from Tata Photon customer care, Tata outlet address etc. if needed.
                this is what my concern is ...
                your team has spoke to me - thats true
                my complaint has been CLOSED - thats also true
                BUT NOT WITH MY PERMISSION
                my complaint is NOT yet resolved !

                May I know what resolution has been updated ? because till date I dont know any resolution ..whatever you are talking about.

                  I bought one Tata Photon + mobile broadband from your department on 13th March , I have paid amt. of Rs. 1600/ (cash on Delivery) but till now I am not able to activate my device due to the lack of LOCK CODE (4 DIGIT) . So as per I called one guy he gave me 14 digit pin code. But I am not understanding anything how to activate my device. and more over my Device is Post paid (500 rental) .So I need my device LOCK CODE (four Digit) to activate my device as early as possible.
                  so take the needful steps.

                    Dear Sir/Madam,

                    I am using Tata Photon+ wireless Internet Service. The actual speed promised by the ISP is 3.1 Mbps. But, I have never got such a speed from the device. It is always below 0.25 Mbps approximately. I have
                    raised several complaints through their customer care. They sent their technical staff to my home twice. But, nothing worked. Every time they say their server is down currently and the speed will be ok in couple
                    of hours. They are also trying to convince me saying that the speed will be good during day time, that too after 11:00 AM and the speed will be low from the evening till next day morning. As I am going to office, I will be using the internet only in the morning before 10:00 AM and evening after 9:00 PM. So, I have never seen a good speed in this device. I always have 94% to 100% signal strength. Today is Sunday and I am at home and trying to see its good speed(?) . But, please see the attached screen shot for the speed
                    that I get even at day time.

                    I am using a 10GB plan and paying Rs.1213 every month. But, I cannot even use more than 1 GB every month. So, I am paying the additional cost for more than 9 GBs which I have never used.

                    They are shaping the traffic for torrent softwares. It is a common practise to put a cap on p2p softwares in the Western countries.But atleast they admit that they do it, but here in india, these guys clandestinely put a cap on unlimited plans.
                    lets get together and kick their !
                    trust me we will win!

                      I have purchased a Tata Photon Plus device on 16feb 2010 my tata photon plus number is [protected]. Tata Photon Plus claims that this device has the speed up to 3.1 mbps but I did not get speed beyond 20kbps - 30kbps. Also customer care of tata frustrates the consumers a lot. We have to keep waiting for 10-20 mins just to get the call picked up on customer care.

                      whenever do The call customer care they alwas try to tolerate my request and they ar unable to full fill their candetion as they commuted.please solve my problem.

                      I HAVE been facing tata photon plus number [protected] and internet speed problems from several weeks but the problem has not been settled till now by tata photo customer care they claim they are the fastest internet speed providers but this is not true

                      Tata Photon + — Speed issue

                      Hello there, I am not sure if somebody really reading this feedback/complaint.

                      First of thanks for making me fool. You guys at TATA phton+ are doing a gr8 job doing this to customers.

                      This is about tata photon + i purchased 1 week back. As per your big adverts and everything... i was supposed to get a speed of 3 or 2 or 1mbps but since inception all i got is 270kbps. When i raised the complaints and everything, at the end one fine lady from customer care center tells me as per company policy you are getting the best speed of 270kbps. When I asked her what about 2mbps or 1mbps , she says that is our company policy to tell you 3mbps and then screw you :)

                      Anyways, you guys be happy atleast my 1200 or 1500 rs.

                        Dear Sir,
                        I own a Tata photon device which I purchased in new delhi last year for Rs. 3500. I relocated to J& K last month and wanted to discontinue the services for a certain period of time. I must have called the Customer Care a thousand times about temporarily disabling/ stopping my services . I was shocked to hear from them that in order to do so I would have to come to the Head Office personally at Delhi which is totally ridiculous and inconvenient for a busy professional.

                        I want you to look into the matter and suggest me what to do. It doesnt make any sense to travel 1000 kilometres to just close the account.
                        Alternatively you may suggest a transfer of services to J&K.

I paid 800 for three months unlimited roaming connection but thy will not provide the service.                                 I have bought photon whiz dialler from Orissa bhubaneswar in the month of july.At the time of purchase the executive has informed that the speed of the device is 256kbps.But whwn I started using this I am hardly getting 2-3 kbps speed.And the service also stops inbetween.I am doing some official work and now the service is getting stopped 5-6 times inbetween.From 2 hours I am trying to open up my mail but its not opening.When I have noticed this firstly I have made a complaint about the speed,but at that time the technician told me that the speed is maximum 153 kbps.
                                This is absolute cheating.When I have bought this device I have clearly mentioned that it is for official purpose,and the executive gave all wrong informations stating that the speed is 256kbps whereas actually the speed does not come maximum 2-3kbps most of the times.I am a Tata employee.The photon plus is available with good offers for employees.But my brother bought whiz from orissa by beleiving all wrong informations.It is absolute cheating.Tata being such a big brand should not promote such kind of cheating.Even my mobile provides better speed than this device.How you all can cheat people that to employees so badly.When I have talked with your executive regarding my complains he told me to log a complain and go for a replacement.I want to surrender this device,provide me a complete refund of the amount given for the device or else replace this device with no further charges a high speed device asap.Stop my billing asap.I officially surrender this device and I need complete explaination regarding providing wrong information by executives for selling devices.
                                Request you to look onto this matter asap.

                                Sorry but the concerned department over here is not the technical department.
                                The device was sold to us giving us false information.

                                So, I want to surrender this device, provide me a complete refund of the amount given for the device or else replace this device with no further charges a high speed device asap.

                                Stop my billing asap.I officially surrender this device and I need complete explaination regarding providing wrong information by executives for selling devices.

                                TATA Photon Whiz — TATA PHOTON COMPANY has given me false bills

                                I have taken a TATA PHOTON WHIZ connection on december 2011. The dealer had promised me it gives 30-40 kbps download speed. But when I connected to my computer it gives only 6-7 kbps speed. After that I complained two times in customer care. They said me to rectify it. But unfortunately they did nothing. After one month the connection is discontinued by them. And they continue sending me false bills for three months because the connection is already disconnected. why I give them false bills where as I have not used. And now a female person called me and said a case is registered on you. This is not fair to me.

                                  Hello Sir/Mam,

                                  This is Dhananjay Dahiwal i purchase TATA Photon+ for Internet access last month, i am using that on my Linux Machine but from 1st day it was not working in Linux i follow all the steps which you provide in your manual even i follow the steps which is in net, but still i am not able to use it. I call TATA technician so many time but he is not responding me. The technician name is Vishal and his no. is [protected] he is from Pune.
                                  I don't want your Service now and my request to you stop my connection and refund me my all money. If you think that i use that Photon then check it from 1st day to till i not use it. OR change the TATA Photon+ device and give the proper service, otherwise i have to take HARD step.

                                  Please do need full and Awaiting for Reply.

                                    Dear Sir,
                                    After recommendations from my colleagues I opted for a Tata Photon Plus connection. Agent's worked promptly and I got a device installed with temporary access for 72 Hrs. I handed over the documents to him whatever he asked. After 2-3 days one person came for verification and within next 2 days I got a SMS from Tata Photon customer care (TM 121) regarding address verification which says that your photon no is [protected], your address is XYZ, you will get welcome letter in next 7 days. After that I called the agent again and get the connection activated for permanent use.
                                    After using it for 3 days the connection was disconnected. Again I called back the agent and asked him about the reason, this time he asked me for depositing Rs 500 as bachelor deposit which he never mentioned at the time of providing the connection. I searched Internet for any such rule for getting a Tata Photon connection and got nothing. I asked him to show me any such rule which says that bachelor's have to pay Rs 500 as security deposit, for this he says there is no such written rule but you have to pay then only we will reactivate the connection. I was reluctant to this so I called at customer care, customer care told me that your address verification is -ive that's the reason for disconnection and they do not have any idea for Bachelor Deposit. I asked customer care if the address verification was -ive why they send me a +ve address verification message and activated the connection, for this there was no proper answer. Again I called back the agent and told him about my conversation with customer care executive, for this the agent told me that "your address is verified, may be the database which is available to customer care is not updated. You only pay Rs500 and your connection will be activated." I asked the agent you kindly come and collect your device and refund my money back, he says that we can't refund the money, either you pay Rs 500 and get your connection activated or you have to keep that Photon device.
                                    I was very embarrassed with this answer and so I tried to talk to higher authorities. I got Ms Suguna Shetty's no ([protected]) from customer care and called her. She is zonal officer, but unfortunately this was not her direct no. So somebody from her helpdesk picked the phone and after listening my problem she raised a complaint for me which was supposed to be solved by 5th march. Today I got a call regarding that complaint. The person told me the same thing that you have to pay Rs 500 to get your connection activated, I asked him the same thing "Just show me is there any such rule like bachelor deposit" and there was no answer. After this the phone was disconnected and within five minutes I got a mail that my complaint is closed. I was surprised that without my consent how they closed the complaint. Everyone I talked to help is asking same bachelor deposit and they are saying device money will not be refunded. I just want to know that why customer should suffer for company's fault? fwe details are given below for your reference. Please help, I just want to get rid of this crap connection and want my money back.

                                      Sir/Madam,
                                      The Validity of My Photon Plus (No. [protected]) was 05.03.2010 with balance of 3890 MB. I got recharged for Rs 250 on 05.03.2011 at 8:15 pm from Yash Communications Shop No.119/A, Near HDFC Bank, Sec-110 Noida (UP). The Shop person told me that He has charged the photon plus but not received the reply of confirmation. He told me that please confirm it from customer care. I called up the customer care of Tata photon plus and asked about the balance and validity, he told me that your recharge has not been updated yet, I asked what if my previous balance will lapse if it does not get updated on same day. he told me that I am making a note entry in your account vide Interaction No.[protected] describing the problem.
                                      Then I called up the customer care on next morning i.e. 06.03.2011 and asked about the recharge update and balance. The customer care executive told me that your recharge has been updated on 06.03.2011 at 9:40 am. so your previous balance has been lapsed and only current balance of 250 MB is available with validity till 06.04.2011. I requested him that i have already communicated the problem during last night then why my previous balance is not added, but he refused to help me at all.
                                      I felt very disappointed with services of TATA Photon plus. It has happened with me 2nd time. They are looting us and we are unable to do any thing.
                                      Please help.

                                        I have taken a Tata Photon Plus connection no [protected] for more than one year. Initial 5 Months it was giving me speed up to 200 kbps. For the last 4-5 Months, its speed never goes beyond 100 kbps. Often, I am unable to open up web sites. I have been pating my monthly dues without virtually using the services. I never get connected to their customer care no. Efforts to give online, complaints is also equally frustrating. After filling up some entries in the e-complaint format, the moment I try to select the 'district", the web page disappears.

                                        The" brand Tata" is known for its business ethics. But it seems, with Photon plus they have sacrificed that and have acquired the brand name of 'worst internet service provider'.

                                        If they can do something to improve upon the speed, let them do it or else, i am going to surrender the modem.

                                        i regret to say this that my tata photon+ device is not giving me the speed as reqired or as given in 3mbps.starting few days gave me a good speed but now it is to slow that it takes so much time to open a page.this is just like a frod to the customers tata is just a frod what i have to say.

                                        Please look at this and make sure that minimum it cathes 1to 1.5mbps.Otherwise i have to surrender it.
