After recommendations from my colleagues I opted for a Tata Photon Plus connection. Agent's worked promptly and I got a device installed with temporary access for 72 Hrs. I handed over the documents to him whatever he asked. After 2-3 days one person came for verification and within next 2 days I got a SMS from Tata Photon customer care (TM 121) regarding address verification which says that your photon no is [protected], your address is XYZ, you will get welcome letter in next 7 days. After that I called the agent again and get the connection activated for permanent use.
After using it for 3 days the connection was disconnected. Again I called back the agent and asked him about the reason, this time he asked me for depositing Rs 500 as bachelor deposit which he never mentioned at the time of providing the connection. I searched Internet for any such rule for getting a Tata Photon connection and got nothing. I asked him to show me any such rule which says that bachelor's have to pay Rs 500 as security deposit, for this he says there is no such written rule but you have to pay then only we will reactivate the connection. I was reluctant to this so I called at customer care, customer care told me that your address verification is -ive that's the reason for disconnection and they do not have any idea for Bachelor Deposit. I asked customer care if the address verification was -ive why they send me a +ve address verification message and activated the connection, for this there was no proper answer. Again I called back the agent and told him about my conversation with customer care executive, for this the agent told me that "your address is verified, may be the database which is available to customer care is not updated. You only pay Rs500 and your connection will be activated." I asked the agent you kindly come and collect your device and refund my money back, he says that we can't refund the money, either you pay Rs 500 and get your connection activated or you have to keep that Photon device.
I was very embarrassed with this answer and so I tried to talk to higher authorities. I got Ms Suguna Shetty's no ([protected]) from customer care and called her. She is zonal officer, but unfortunately this was not her direct no. So somebody from her helpdesk picked the phone and after listening my problem she raised a complaint for me which was supposed to be solved by 5th march. Today I got a call regarding that complaint. The person told me the same thing that you have to pay Rs 500 to get your connection activated, I asked him the same thing "Just show me is there any such rule like bachelor deposit" and there was no answer. After this the phone was disconnected and within five minutes I got a mail that my complaint is closed. I was surprised that without my consent how they closed the complaint. Everyone I talked to help is asking same bachelor deposit and they are saying device money will not be refunded. I just want to know that why customer should suffer for company's fault? fwe details are given below for your reference. Please help, I just want to get rid of this crap connection and want my money back.
