I recently bought Tata Photon Plus from the Tata Photon Office @ SL Plaza in Cochin. The plan that I subscribed to was for 900 PM under unlimited Plan. What was promised to me was a) Speed of 3.1 MBPS till 5GB and 155KBps Beyond that as per month offering.

This is what I had selected after reading their Manual. Now what they are saying is that they offer speed UPTO 3.1 MBPS but what was written in their manual is speef OF 3.1 MBPS.

What I am getting is hardly 10-12 KBps.....this is insane. I called their CC 2 times and all they say is that the speed is dependant on the number o[censored]sers etc. What they are talking about is the Contention Ratio however no where in their manual is anything mentioned about Contention Ratio.This to me is cheating.

After talking to their CC, I am informed that the Contention Ratio is 1:10, so I should be getting Speed of atleast 700 KBPS but I am not even getting this. So even in that aspect they are cheating and lying.

Its not even 1 month since I purchased this and want a refund of the Device for which I paid, 2500/-. I need Refund of that device.

Somebody please tell me how to go about it

    I live in electronic city area of bangalore.I have been getting no network and very poor speed problem.I have also booked a complaint with tata photon.However my complaint was closed saying that they do not have an immediate fix for the issue and that they will resolve the issue as soon as possible,

    It has not been resolved till now.I had asked the executive who came to my place to give me the device about the signal strength in the area and he had assured that the signal strength is good.

    However I now feel cheated . I have already purchased the device for rs 2500 and now there is practically no network coverage in the area.Also the customer care is not able to solve the problem.This is terrible on part of the company.The device number is [protected] and the complaint number was[protected].

      Well this is the worst ever experience i have ever had with any company. i filed my complaint on 9th of this month but till now apart from big promises i have not got any thing. forget about resolutions, nobody even visited me. and to top it all now you are saying my case has been closed and resolved. shame on you people(punjab team), you are really spoiling the prestige and name created by TATAS.

      last thing i want from your side would be if you ask for bill. Because i am paying for downloading, which i could mot do because of such a low speed. i am sorry but in that case i will only give money for browsing otherwise i will see you people in consumer court for not only providing me worst ever services but also for mental torture and loss i have incurred because of your apathy.

        my tata photon whiz device bearing MEID number A[protected]EA got damaged and was replaced by a fresh device purchased from Ganderbal out let bearing MEID number A000001A7C2AEC.
        unfortunatelly the device with MEID A000001A7C2AEC got broken into pieces. however the initial device with MEID number A[protected]EA was repaired and is ready for use. it is requested to kindly activate this device at an earliest.

          Dear Sir,

          I have purchased Tata Photon plus yesterday.

          The sales person did not show demo in my PC. He activated the card from other PC and he asked me to do the same process in my PC. I have followed the same and i could not able to connect internet. It shows the following error message when i am trying to connect internet.

          Error 366: The modem already in use or not configured properly.

          Kindly advice how to resolve the problem.

            I bought Tata Photon plus service on 4th oct 2010, while the product was sold the promise made was that i will be receiving min of 700kbps up to 3.1 mbps. I received the same on first day of my service. the next day the speed went down to 100kbps and from that day till now he same probel presist. i was promised that my speed will be the same for the whole month but the Tariff says that i will only have the promised speed up to 5GB and it will reduce to 100kbps. i have not exceeded the limit yet and still receiving 100kbps.. i registered my complaint in customer care and also called the nodal officer. the nodal officer has diverted my number and there is no proper response from tata. i have been complaining from the day 2 i bought this service. i am totally dis satisfied with the service and the response from tata. either they have to fix my connection or refund my money. If i do not receive response with in two days. there is no other way rather than taking this thing to court.

            **NOTE : one of the tata technician responded on the second day of my first complaint and said that my area is marked under black list as the no of connection in my area has exceeded the limit. then why was this device sold to me**

I never felt good. services are not satisfatory. last time their engineer came and said that some server upgradation is going on, , i need to wait . I waited for good 10 days but then nothing happnd. Also, whn I calld custmr care, I was suggstd to ask for some waiver whn i rcve my nxt bill.ufffffffffff...rubbiish

                I am one among the millions of people, who trust the brand name of TATA., and thereby have purchased TATA PHOTON Data card.

                The Data card No. is [protected] and my account No. is[protected].

                With blind faith on your system, I have paid all my previous bills, and the current bill, corresponding to the period 30/08/10 to 28/09/2010 was very high, and we asked for an itemized billing.

                We were shocked to notice several irregularities in the billing, and lodged a complaint with your customer cell, and spoke to one Mr Udayakumar and Ms.Saranya.

                They were irresponsible, and were insisting us to pay and accept the bill without any complaints, and spoke to us in a reckless fashion asking us to disconnect if we don’t want, or if we are unable to pay.

                The way and manner in which your people answer has totally shattered our trust on TATAs.

                We request you to kindly review the bills immediately and send us the correct bill and apply due credits to the excess payment and intimate us.

                We have asked for itemized bills for the previous bills to check, but, your customer care (less) people are answering in the affirmative.

                Review all our previous bills, and give credit for the excess billing ( if any) and send us a revised bill immediately.

                If we are not getting an appropriate reply from your end, we may be compelled to seek redressal at an appropriate forum.

                  I took photon+ connection on 16th October 2010 and I never used the internet for totally more than 5 hours because of the extreme slow speed in my area ( Thiruvanmiyur).I thought that photon+ will give speed upto 1.5Mbps (which is half of 3.1Mbps speed which Tata claims) but what I am getting is not even the 100 kbps and sometimes I am getting 30-70 Kbps. The reason I took photon+ because of it High Speed, now I am very much disappointed with it. I raised a complaint and the customer care executive and came verified that I will not more than that...he asked me to fix an enhancer at my house but he told after providing enhancer also I will not get more than 300 Kbps. I am shocked because I am getting this speed in a main area of chennai (thiruvanmiyur).

                  I will see if I can get the speed of 1.5 Mbps , or I have to surrender the connection and will have to go for alternate best service at my area..

                  I purchased Tata photon plus pre-paid connection from Sangeetha Mobiles pvt ltd Stores on 21/07/2010, Basavanagudi, Bangalore. They collected the documents from me and activated the instrument. Later they never sent the documents to the Tata head office.

                  After couple of days my connections got disconnected due to non submission of documents. I contacted the shop people, they just kept me in blank for about 2 months saying one or other story on documents.

                  Later I directly approached the Tata Teleservices Head office on Hosur Main Road, Opposite Forum, Koramangala Area, submitted documents on 14/07/2010 along with a request to convert my pre-paid to Post Paid connection. They asked me to pay Rs.100 for raising a ticket which I did as per their direction. They assured me that connection will be resolved within 3 working days.

                  After waiting 1 week time I called up consumer care and filed a complaint on 19/10/2010 at 11.20 am. They assured me the complaint will be resolved within 21/10/2010, 11.20 am, that is the resolution time. But in between I called up more than 10 times to the consumer care people to check my status, nothing is happened.

                  Now who is in the Tata Teleservices, to whom a consumer/customer can directly interact. How my connection will get sorted out. Is this the kind of service any customer expect from Top brands of the country. My A/C No [protected].

                    On 27th of september I made a call to customer care about the device, which was not working.than I re charge with Rs.100, and again I call to customer care for the same problem, they promise to send somebody for resolving the problem, but till the date I did not get any service from the companies end, rather they said that as Rs 100 was not usede by me it was been charged, but for what?
                    and within the period I call them several time to resolve the problem but no response has been made by the company.

                      Hi,

                      This was my first interaction with any of the Tata's services and this is the worst response I got, after a follow up (which I did) of atleast 20 times with their customer care executives and the network/technical people in Hyderabad.

                      I got my Tata connection activated on 15 Sep 2010 with Account no.[protected], and the speed I am getting while downloading any of the files, is not beyond 20kbps (that too in rare cases), reason -- they have not updated my speed for the new billing cycle again, (as this is the cap plan of till 10GB usage at 3.1mbps, though then as well the speed was never beyond 50kbps (in any case this is not even the 10% of what they claim), but after the change of the cycle they did not renew the speed again) and this speed is even worse than a Mobile Office low speed connection I have -- And these Tata guys are charging Rs1,100 for this sub standard speed and no proper customer attention.

                      I tried to register a complaint with the customer care people, but the guy did not register my complaint and ask me to wait for 6 hrs (thus, giving a false deadline). As expected nothing happened in that time and I called up again and the lady asked for the complaint no. (strange -- you do not register the complaint, give me time and while calling again, ask for the complaint no.). Anyways, I got it registered with the following complaint no.[protected]

                      After following up 'n' number of times and always getting some false deadlines, finally receive a mail saying the following:

                      "This is regarding your docket number[protected].
                      We regret to inform you that, we are unable to process your complaint within the time committed to you.
                      We shall take some more time to resolve the complaint"

                      Without stating the reason and mentioning the specifics of this "some more time" (leaving it open ended at their discretion of solving or in all probable cases not solving the issue), even after taking so much time already and assuring me of it to be done within the stipulated time, every time I called them (atleast they should have stated the facts, in case there were any, instead of lying blatantly). The clear problem as I figured (after speaking to all the executives and network people) is with their technical team in Hyderabad, which does not care to resolve customer issues.

                      The issue is still pending and they have done nothing in this matter (and this is my worst interaction with any of the customer care services ever)
                      Thanks for atleast replying back after so many calls and efforts. But please stop giving me false commitment and be honest in accepting if you cannot resolve this problem. If this is the top priority and express work, that nothing has happened and nobody took efforts in even calling me till now (even after 5 days of your posting this message), it is really sad. Would further request you guys to just state here if you cannot resolve the problem and I would never like to use any of the TATA products ever again.

                      Please let me know the time (yes the "exact time" instead of just mentioning that you are trying etc, because none of your network team guys, "the people actually responsible for this" has ever contacted me) as to when will this get resolved. For your information, my another new billing cycle is started and still the speed is real slow. This is my last request mail here and if the issue is not resolved in this week, please atleast send someone to take back your device or just call me to throw it. It is of no use for me to still sticking to this connection while paying my due bills on time.

                      Hope you TATA guys understand my situation and frustration, but at times the speed is so slow that to open google as well, it takes more than 30 secs, have tried using different browsers, laptops etc but of no use and you guys have not even thought of calling me, yesterday I again called your customer care executive (someone named Rupali) and she put me on hold for half an hour pretending to transfer the call to network team, but no one picked up there. If your network team does not want to resolve the problem just accept it. Anyways, this is my last attempt here before throwing away your connection/device. Attached is the link of the test I took on speedtest.net as referred by one of your executive. At the time when the speed should be the highest at night, its nowhere close to 3.1mbp as you claim (not even 10% of that), while as per my billing cycle and your executives etc, I should have got 3.1mbps during this time.

                      Still not received any assurance from you guys, and at tonight 2 AM, I am not able to access a site like google right now, and using my mobile office connection which is 1/10 of the cost you charge and 10 times the speed you give, even to write this message, it is really very shameful on the part of you TATA guys and your networking team (which is actually responsible for this slow speed -- btw would prefer to give the money in charity instead of paying the bill to you, that too uselessly). They do not call me up, give false assurances on this site and do everything but try solve my problem, would have preferred if you had solved my problem instead of writing "Greetings from Tata Indicom!"
                      So finally have decided to THROW AWAY THIS CONNECTION. Have just seen another connection at my colleagues' place which is 10 times better then you guys (wouldn't name that here, just to save you guys from slight more shame, anyways right now any of the decent connection is better than yours) . But have made up my mind to use that in future, so finally no more plight and you guys keep your connection. have thrown your device in the dustbin, if you have slight decency, you can disconnect and stop my connection right away.

                      Tata Photon Plus — Worst response from customer care

                      Dear Sir,
                      This is in concern with the response received from your customer care, regarding the speed issue of my tata photon broadband connection. I am using this service for my official purpose. And due to worst speed I am not able to connect to IBM network & so I have missed many official online meetings.
                      Also, I have taken this connection after getting confirmation of very high downloading speed of 160 to 200 kbps (my broadband plan is of 3.1 mbps) from tata photon outlet. And currently I am getting speed of 20 to 30 kbps.
                      As per the confirmation of high speed from tata photon outlet, our complete project team had bought this connection & now this is not at all worth.
                      After continuous follow-up with customer service for last 3 months, I am not getting any positive reply. So I am registering this complaint. And still if I won't see any positive reply from your side, I won't have any other option than going for some alternative. This change will be implemented in my complete team.
                      I hope as a TATA brand ethics, you will revert to this complaint on top priority.

                      Tata Photon Plus purchase was the biggest mistake I have done. They promise speed upto 3.1 MBPS and their executive confirms that the average speed will be 3 MBPS for sure, while selling the instrument. I took the plan for max speed and 10GB download limit. After connection I got 400 KBPS and called customer care, they said the speed is really low and unexpected and opened a call for technical assistance.

                      The tech people called and asked me the speed. Hearing it to be 400 kbps, their answer was funny to say the least " U r getting right speed sir. The average speed is 300kbps to 600 kbps, but no one gets more than 600 kbps. If only the speed is less than 300 kbps, then log a call". Asked Whythe speed is no where close to 3mbps as promised. The answer gets more funny " Speed varies on lot many factors sir, mainly the number of customers in your area. If its more, you will get less speed".

                      Means as Photon will earn more from more customers, the speed of each customer will die down, but payment remain the max. Great business... Carry on...

                      It is a rata type answer from TATA photon. I am also facing a similar problem. I lodge the complaint and within a week, I get e-mail that your ticket has been closed.

                      Not able to understand how this segment of TATA's is working. Someone need to drag them in MRTP court for unfair trade practices

                        the connection is increasingly showing speed of 7.5kbps to 20kbps whereas the threshhold of calling a service broadband is 32kbps

                        Last two years I had taken Rs.400/ plan in photon plus that was working good style and I was satisfied with this net.
                        Last eight month I am not getting normal speed, I complained toll free no so many persons came to me and looked the position of speed and go back, that I will complain my senior because ping is too much 350/400/275/370.
                        Like that, I cannot solve that problem, my officer look after this matter, All men told like that but I have got eight
                        Month money loss, Rs.3200 to 3500 rupees, because I cannot get my speed which Mr. satish sagar[Tvs holder at site no 1 Kidwai Nagar Kanpur] told to me that you would get 3mbps speed up to 1 GB.
                        Now I am not able to pay Rs.958.rupees to company I, am-retired persons how I can afford wrong bill?

                        Kindly think in positive way and please do help me any how because I can complain to you only, rest is you can do Batter for me. You are able to do everything.

                          The last date to recharge my Tata Photon Plus was 20th October. i recharged it on 18th using online recharge but due to some technical error they say that it ll be done on 26th October and henceforth my balance will not be carried forward. This shows callous attitude of company and is unfair on its part. Since, I got the recharge done within time, I should have got the balance forwarded. And if not this is just fooling public that the balance will be added

                            Hi, created this id here to provide the solution for this problem, I have been facing this problem for months, contacted customer care, visited service centre, did installation many times but the problem appears again.
                            Installing of tata photon software/ windows again and again can provide you temporary solution but useless
                            It works fine for just 5 – 10 minutes and error comes again
                            I have found permanent solution for this problem now, follow these steps:

                            1.Copy the following code [only the text in bold].

                              Hi,

                              I purchased Tata Photon + Mobile Broadband Service in the month of July 2010 and in view of the extremely bad connectivity, I surrendered my connection within the first 10 days o[censored]sage. The modem was returned to the Tata executive on 22 July 2010. I was promised that the amount paid by me at the time of applying for new connection amounting to Rs.2999/- will be refunded entirely within a period of 2 weeks after necessary processing.

                              After that, I consistently followed up with the Tata executives for refund but my repeated visits to their show room only gave me consoling replies saying that their office handling the refunds has been shifted to Pune and hence there are some delays. Every time I visited the showroom, they have been telling me that the refund would be coming in 2 weeks.

                              Nerul East Showroom visit on 14 Aug 2010 - Was promised the refund within 2 weeks.
                              Next visit on 18 Sep 2010 - Met Ms. Fatima who confirmed that no processing was done and again promised the refund within 2 weeks.
                              Next visit on 10 Oct 2010 - Met Ms. Rashmi, who apologised and said that she would contact me within one week to advise the status. There is no call and no further promise to refund the amount.

                              When I contacted Tata Photon + for the first time, it was my trust in the name of TATAs rather than anything else. However, whenever the performance was very bad, I had no option but to return the connection. But it seems TATA wants to thrive on these kind of small amounts causing deep annoyance to general public.

                              What is the way out for me?

                                Tata photon plus peoples are not qualified . they are Just new peoples . I don"t know how come they are doing there business . Tata is real big company .and they are doing business in Capital of India . and they so untrained peoples . I just called to them and I asked to them I just bought new connection and I want to liknk my Outlook express e-mail account with tata photon plus . they said they have no Idea .
                                before i was using this outlook express e-mail account with my MTNL account . I just removed my MTNL account . because of Tata photon plus . and now they say they have no Idea . I am a Business man and my all e-mail records in my outlook express e-mail .

                                so I am feeling very bad ,. that they have given me this answer .

                                please take need full action .

                                  Tata photon –You cannot carry speed

                                  I kept getting calls from executives regarding ‘Tata photon plus’. But since they were not giving any unlimited plan I did not want to take it. Then they would say they have Tata photon whiz which has unlimited plan but speed is low. Then on 12th August I got a call from one executive saying that they have come up with a new offer o[censored]nlimited plan and 3.1 Mbps, rent of Rs.950, after 1st 5GB the speed will reduce to 128kbps, and I will get a discount of Rs.200 for 1st one year for purchasing their modem.
                                  Cost of photon +: Rs: 2399 + Activation charges Rs: 100/-
                                  There is no roaming charges, can carry the device anywhere throughout India.
                                  This was basically the deal. But since I had problems with Tikona earlier, I wanted to clear everything about the speed. So I asked her the fluctuation rate of the speed. How much low it will drop and the max I will get, coz I know I won’t be getting 3.1 Mbps and all. I shared my experience of Tikona with her. Then she told me that though 3.1Mbps is the maximum speed, I will get an average of 2Mbps and sometimes it will go down to 1Mbps. She guaranteed me that the lowest speed I would get would be 1Mbps in Bangalore. I told my location and all to ask about connectivity in that area. Only if I cross 5GB limit then only will my speed reduce to less than 1Mbps and will go to around 120 kbps, and will regain its original speed during the next billing cycle. She stated that with an example and all. I told her that right now I am using Airtel gprs connection which is giving me around 100 kbps speed and it is sort of constant. I am paying only Rs.98 for recharging that, So if the speed is going to be less than 1Mbps then I have no point in paying Rs.850 more for a low speed connection. I asked her to send the executive and he has to show me the speed, then only will I take it.
                                  The executive Mr. B. Chandrashekar came from pagepoint services. In his plan list he didn’t have the unlimited plan. While filling out the form I had to ask him to mention the plan fully on the paper. He was a bit reluctant to write first, only after getting ok from his higher authority did he he write the full plan. Unlimited 950 and all. Then he told me Rs. 100 for activation for which he did not make a bill. He said it will come in the first bill. So totally I paid him Rs. 2600. Then after activation, we checked the speed, it was coming to around 900Kbps. He told its peak time and all. Since the lowest promised to me was 1Mbps and this was sort of in that range, I accepted.
                                  But, later I found that the speed was fluctuating again. Sometimes it doesn’t connect also. I connected it on both laptop and desktop, same problem. Sometimes it shows as low as 50kbps to a max of 800kbps. Average of around 200-300 Kbps. 800kbps comes once in 3-4 days for 2 hrs max.
                                  Then when the CC executive (Mr. Daniel) called me I raised my issue with him. He gave me a complaint No.[protected]st Sep) regarding the speed and No.[protected] regarding the extra Rs. 100 for activation charge. On 4th Sep Executive Sharan came and visited my place to check the speed and that time it was showing 800kbps, so he closed the complaint and went. Half an hour later the speed decreased to 100 kbps. Because of the speed issue I haven’t downloaded much, in fear of crossing my 5 GB limit.
                                  Then I get a mail stating that:
                                  “We would like to inform you that your complaint vide docket number[protected] has been closed on 02-SEP-10. Hope you are satisfied with the resolution provided”
                                  On 3rd I made a complaint No.[protected] which was closed on 4th
                                  On 29th Sep I called CC and gave a complaint regarding speed again No.[protected] to Avinash.
                                  On 30th I got a call from Abhinav (CC) regarding this. The speed in the morning was around 530 kbps (10.45 am) and when he called was around 833 kbps (11.15am). I told him to keep the complaint open since the speed was fluctuating. At around 2:30 pm it stopped connecting and there was no net till evening.
                                  I got a call next day asking me about the complaint. I said the speed is fluctuating now and also made a complaint about the Rs.100 not being deducted in the first bill. For which I was told that I was given a resolution that I would able to use that much extra while downloading. This wasn’t communicated to me while closing the bill, cos why would I agree to for extra usage when I have unlimited connection. Doesn’t make sense. No.[protected]. And No.[protected].
                                  In between I had gone to their website and registered grievances with the MD and all regarding this issue. For which they responded:
                                  “We understand that the concerned team has got in touch with you and you are experiencing an average speed of 800 kbps but you are not satisfied with this speed. We would like to inform that we have always advertised that Photon Plus connection provides speed up to 3.1 Mbps downlink. A subscriber under standard test conditions on EVDO REV A technology used by Photon Plus can get speed upto 3.1 Mbps and this has been validated and approved by TRAI. However, the actual connection & browsing speed depends on a variety of factors, including the number of simultaneous Photon Plus users in your area, time of the day, webpage accessed etc. Thus, in most real-world situations, you can expect average speeds of 300-600 Kbps “
                                  This was not what was promised to while taking the connection. I had specifically asked the speed, after that only did I take the connection. So what is the point in saying this now?
                                  On 3rd their executive Sharan came to check the problem. That time the speed was between 130kbps -400kbps. He also said if I am not satisfied, I can visit the main office in kormangla and apply for disconnection.
                                  Complaint No.[protected]
                                  I made a complaint again for disconnection because speed was slow and in between I had visited kerala for 10-15 days where I could not even connect to the internet, though it shows full range. So much for roaming!
                                  On 9th October I went to the Kormangala office for disconnection. I spoke to the manager Mr. Sharavanan. He said he cannot do anything cos it’s the agencies mistake. They have to give the refund. He said “Now we are not promoting as 3.1 Mbps speed but mobile broadband speed.”
                                  What is the use of changing the term once I have already bought it by getting cheated? That time these guys were promoting saying “You can carry speed. Upto 3.1 Mbps” also the ads were like fast and furious giving wrong impressions.
                                  He said he will get in touch with the agency and get back to me by Monday. But no calls came.
                                  Then Tuesday I got a call from an executive to check my satisfaction of their product. I blasted him about all the complaints and no response. He took a complaint again No.[protected].
                                  On 12th I got a call from Soumya (CC) saying that Rs. 551 has been deducted from my bill and I can make the rest of the payment. I said I am looking for disconnection and refund, not a discount in the bill. I told her not to close the complaint. On 13th Morning Nagraj(CC) called to say the same thing and he just closed the complaint saying that I have to make a new complaint. I seriously don’t know what to do with these cheapskates. Today I got a mail o make the payment. Why should I make the payment and continue when they haven’t responded to me. Where should I appeal?
                                  Don’t trust these guys. They are real cheats. I get irritated by their closing complaints mail and messages. Wish they had done some prompt service like this to give proper resolutions!

                                  Tata Photon Plus — False Promise

                                  Tata photon plus boasts about giving a speed up to 3.1 MBPS..BUT I am getting a pathetic speed of 12 kbps. The service provided by them is not up to the mark. What to do?
                                  Same here dude. I think if this was USA we could sue them and all. TATA is regarded as one of the most honest companies in the world. But I have shared same experience as you...Maybe these cheats will learn a lesson from someone some day...

                                  Finally they read the complaint here and called back and said that i can come and collect the Rs 100 they charged me for the "free" bag. But what about the Rs. 2500 that i have been charged for a device that gives no more than 1 mbps when they are advertising a speed of 3.1 mbps. According to their lawyer-like-fine-print stance they advertised it as "upto" 3.1 mbps, saying that it will not always give 3.1 mbps, but it should at least touch 3-3.1 mbps sometime right? It never goes beyond 1-1.4 mbps, so what'ts the meaning of writing upto 3.1 mbps. As if this cheating was not enough. Now they are repeatedly calling and trying to convince me that they assure speeds of only 256 kbps and that i should be thankful that i get 1mbps. Despite me telling the caller sternly 10 time he continued to repeat the line like a broken recorder "1 mbps is enough", not listening to what i was saying at all, what a bunch of machine fed . First they sell us short then they tell us that we have not got less, that we should in fact be thankful that we are getting more than 256 kbps. Wow. Haramiyon ka jawab nahi.
                                  Without solving anything these [censored]s sent the below email, all they did was get some stupid exec to call and and get me to do some time timepass setting changes on the computer which resulted in no difference in the slow speed whatsoever, their device is not capable of giving speeds above 1.4 mbps yet they advertise 3.1 mbps, the truth is that they have oversubscrubed customers and it is not possible to give everyone 3.1 mbps, so it is like fitting 200 people in a train coach meant for 100 people, bloody [censored]s, i hate my country because nothing gets done to such cheat companies, i emailed the DoT guy and he simply pointed me to go to the DoT website, he is paid by Tata as Tata lists his email id on their Site, all chors, shameful

                                    I bought tata photon plus, at Delhi for 2600/= (non-refundable) with monthly tariff of 1350/= per month.
                                    Contracdictory to their claims of max speed upto 3.1 mbps, to my sheer astonishment I have never experienced even a normal browsing speed. complaints have been lodged several times but the problem persists. Can I lodge a police complaint of cheating ?. Can I go to a consumer court?

Yestarday I purchased the connection and after activation I found the connection worst, infact slower than GPRS internet available over GSM mobile. I called the shoppe person from whom I purchased the device. He give me one stupid explanation saying that unless my documents gets submitted I would not get the broadband speed. Being not convinced with the answer I called you customer support 3 times every time I got the troubleshooting steps o[censored]ninstalling the photon software reinstall blah blah etc.
                                        I am not getting a download speed more than 20 to 22 KBps over the connection. And if it is the case it would not definitely serve my purpose of accessing office mails through VPN. Selling the device saying it’s a 3.1 Mbps broadband and getting 22 KBps is really a shame.
                                        The last person I have spoken to is Mr. Ranjit he claims to be supervisor. He informed me Tataindicom is currently facing issue regarding the slow speed. And this would get resolve within 30th Nov 2010. If this is the case the company should have displayed a public notice while selling the device. I could not afford to use the Photon + with such unacceptable speed unil 30th Nov 2010. I that case I need by money back ASAP. So as to switch to other service providers.

                                        This is furthur comminication regarding the Complaint No : 198635. Yestarday your engineer visited my premises and himself found the Fhoton + not giving satisfactory speed. He has also mentioned that there is some network problem around Tata Fhoton and which would not resolve until Nov 30 2010. Your Engineer also has taken the print screen sent an email to his superior which I am unknown about. I cannot simply continue with such slow speed internet connection having knowing that Reliance datacard is giving much better speed at slightly more money, which is absolutely not a concern.
                                        So this would be my request toy Tata Fhoton plus to refund my money fully as early possible before I take this matter any further.

                                        This is regarding my complaint number 199050. Someone from Tataindicom called me and he was too rude and talking in a manerless way to a customer. Inspite of the Engineer visit yestarday at my home that person is arguing with me and not accepting the fact that the connection is slow. This doesn’t surprise me. This is one more example of worst customer satisfaction and customer care in India. Service providers like you will make customer suffer in n number of ways. It’s a harrassment actually. Let me see you through legal formalities with your SLA and contracts. Its enough making customer fools.

                                        i agree with above. Tata photon is poor service provider.
                                        they give fraud answers on asking about slow speed. like upgradation in your area is going on, there is server down in your area, we will solve this issue till 15 dec2010.
                                        what about charges? they keep charging for 3.1 MBPS.

                                        i would tell others not to go with Tata photon.

                                        try Reliance instead atleast they have good service n customer care support.

                                        The Services of Tata Indicom is detiorating day-by-day.

                                        The standard of Service when i subscribed to 4 years was much different from what is it today.

                                        I am thinking of switching to another service provider because they couldn't find appropriate solution to our queries.

                                        I completely agree. They issued a tata photon(Customer MDN no: [protected]) to me on 8th Dec 2011 claiming it would give me upto 2 MBS despite knowing that there are known issues of network issues and speed in my area (Lokhandwala Kandivali East). The speed never went beyond 0.12 to 0.14 MBS! When I raised with the center (Thakur Village) the lady behind the counter claimed that it is not she who issued it to me, in fact she knows that there are issues! They finally agreed that I surrender the device to them, which i did on 22nd Dec 2011. The center gave me in writing that a refund would be given to me but there was no reply from them for a month. I escalated it to the Nodal manager of Mumbai Ms. Sarala who feigned surprised and claimed that no refund request was sent for my device and that she would take up my case and ensure a refund as soon as possible. Again no action for another one month. I have escalated it to the Appellate.[protected]@tatadocomo.com Mr. Vinay Rao. But didn't get any response from him either, in face nobody picks ups at. [protected]!
                                        Today it is 3 months(19th March 2012) and I am still waiting for a refund. They would knowingly trap you into buying tata photon and quick to take money from you but would take ages (am hoping they would do it one day for me!) to refund you back.
                                        STAY AWAY FROM THEM.
