I have purchased Tata photon + at Croma/Belapur on July 2nd 2010 under reciept No.[protected]. I am A.P.Udupa, a retired Railway employee and am frequently on duty at North frontier Railways. After I purchased the device duly charged, it worked for around 3 months, i.e up to 25.09.2010. After coming to know that it is not working, thinking that the balance might have exausted, I have recharged the device under receiptMSBM[protected] but still found the device not working.
In this connection I have contacted Croma at Belapur several tomes but could not get any feedback. While purchasing the device from Croma/Belapur, I have submitted all the required documents as demanded. My Photon + No. is [protected].
I am at present, at Guwahathi, Assam on duty and am in need of the device.I will be here for 15 more days.
I request you to help me in the matter.

      Hi,

      I had taken a Tata Photon Plus Prepaid Connection on 11th of September 2010. I took an unlimited plan of Rs. 850. After using the internet service for 2days, i started getting this 734 error. I called up the helpline number provided by the Tata Photon Plus i.e.,[protected]. But these people misguided me and told me that something bout dedicated balance(actual balance) and made me get it recharged for Rs. 50. As told, i got it recharged, but after using the internet for just 15min, i started getting the same error. After i called them up again, they said its a technical fault from their side and the plan has been changed. They also said they have written a mail to the higher authorities regarding my plan change. They assured me that within 12 hours, i will be getting the internet service again. But to this day i have not got the internet service. Everytime i call them, they always say the same thing. I even went to the Fatima Nagar branch and the same thing continues. My money went down the drain for trusting you people. I DEFINATELY wont recommend Tata Photon Plus to anyone. Their service is just crap. I[censored] people dont know how to provide proper service, then why the hell do you provide service? I[censored] people have man power constraint then get more people and get the job done which you assure your every customer wid sweet talks.

      Never expected this from Tata. If you people continue doing this, your end is not far. As i have seen from other complaints, you are already on the track of going down. Take my advice, and see what you can do in this matter, else you wil be digging your own grave.
      This problem is rediculious...
      I am using windows 7 ultimate 32bit.
      i installed the drivers for photon with the app ...
      it worked for 10 to 20 min... and just... giving the error message ...
      734...734...734...
      this is hopeless...
      what the problem is there with photon +
      its speed is also low ...
      please solve this problem as soon as possible...
      or i am going to messs it up ...

        Don’t buy it from satya niketan(delhi) tata photon dealer , they are cheaters. They don’t know anything about billing.I was under 950 unlimited scheme(200 discount),i was told by them that i will not receive
        any extra amount than 750+tax.My first bill summed up at 1485.The dealer instead of admitting his mistake,assured me of getting waiver and told me to pay 750 first then handed me a ’kachha bill’.Next morning customer care calls up and i told everything about my billing problem then i was told the dealer never made any request for waiver and i[censored]r saying u wasn’t told that first month bill will not come as per scheme so we will check it with dealer.Two days later they called and told dealer did not admitted to his mistake so we can’t give u any discount..I had to pay 700 extra for my first bill coz of their ignorance and unhelpful attitude.

        Speed is good but when u download something it show’s its real face and it also depends on the area where u going to use(works fine in my satya niketan room on top floor, pathetic on ground floor) .But it’s any time better than other service providers. Before purchasing call the customer care and check every single detail o[censored]r scheme, don’t rely on what dealers promise.

        So you think i wrote my complain without registering it first with you people. Well i already filed the complain with your useless customer care. I got a blunt reply that dealer told that he had informed me about first months billings process, and you people believed him over your customer. So live with it, m not interested in going through all the horror i faced talking to different people again.
        WHOSOEVER went thru that complaint...please note that i have been given a waiver by tata photon. So i dont need to pay the extra amount. I don’t know who worked it out my dealer or my regular complaints, but m happy.

            I AM USING THIS DEVICE IN KOLKATA, BUT I THINK IT'S THE WORST DEVICE FOR NET CONNECTION. MOREOVER, THE CUSTOMER CARE IS ALSO THE WORST. I AM GOING TO THROW IT OUT- PLEASE DON'T BUY THIS DEVICE.
            Please do not try to show your 'understanding' towards your Customers online. You have the most lethargic, incompetent people under employment, starting right from the person who picks up the call to the person who claims to manage and supervise them.
            Your technicians submit false reports in order to avoid work. No matter how many times I call your Customer Harassment department, I receive the same response over and over again, the end result is nothing but my boiling blood.

            I would never advise anyone to go for Tata Photon+. How it achieved the title "Device of the Year" is beyond me! The only reason I can think of is that being of bribery to the ones who claim it to be so. After all, they are just as credible as what they support - utterly despicable.

            It would certainly be in my right mind to sue Tata Teleservices for Customer Harassment. I vouch to REMOVE your introductory message claiming yours to be the Device of the Year as it is one of the most misleading statements you could come up with.

            Speedtest.net proves to you that my phone's 2G GPRS works FASTER than your so-claimed Device of the Year.

            I pity those who are under the employment of Tata Photon+. Even Suresh Kalmadi has done a far better job than them.

            The most humble step you can take is to remove that message, expel all your employees and hire new ones who can actually DO something USEFUL, recall all your devices and work on what you can do best for a few years before you actually decide to show your faces in the market again.

            Considering how you have been harrasing me all this time, this is a highly dignified and humble complaint post. Anyone else would have barraged you with a concourse of expletives.

                Dear Sir/Madam,

                I have been using Tata Photon+ (service number - [protected]) for the last 6 months. My usage has never been more than Rs 1200 a month. But for the last couple of months they have been sending me bills of high usage in spite of no change in my usage pattern. The net amount payable last month was Rs 3666. My current unbilled amount is also close to 2000 and there is still more than a week to go for the billing cycle. I have tried attaching the relevant bills, but since PDF format is not acceptable here, I am unable to do so. I guarantee you that there has not been any change in my usage pattern, nor have I indulged in downloading/uploading large files. I request you to look in to this and kindly help me as I can't pay such a huge amount, specially when I know I haven't used it. Thank you.

                  I m one of the TATA's Photon Plus customer....
                  I gona give u the feedback about this..
                  As they advertise, this is not the best product among the other available services in the market.
                  There are many such reasons to confess my opinion on TATA. some such are
                  1. Not Available at time
                  See friends, we purchase the wireless devices such that they will be helful when we are in need irrespective of where we are, weather we are in travelling or in some othere places...
                  The main purpose of this is ruled out by this TATA WIRELESSS SERVICESS or whatever ....
                  I have face many such critical situations where i m in desperate need of the internet connection(one such is when i m in travelling) but when i tried to connect to the internet it started giving error like remote computer did not respond and several other such for several other situations...
                  2. not only that, it has several negative points, in short there is nothing postive to talk about except for boasting themselves as their best product among the competetors in the market

                  So dear friends, Every individual does the work of gathering the feedback befor purchase-its a humans nature, i[censored] are looking so, here is the above feedback.....after reading this decide yourself which way to choose..

                  I have taken TAT photon + service (with speed 3.1Mbps). Plan is 950/- unlimited usage.

                  What I have observed is I am getting only speed of 20kbps for downloading. I am fade of the speed. I am thinking of changing the provider.



                  I am feeling like being deceived. Can something done about this or I change provider.
                  Dear sir,

                  (a) I have just purchased a TATA Photon Plus on 05th March 2011. It was very disheartening
                  after realizing that I am getting Whiz speed while I am paying for Plus services. I am an Army
                  Officer and posted in Kupwara, J&K and TATA is the only company which is providing the
                  Wireless Broadband Internet services, so it is heavily used service by army personals as well as
                  civilians here in this area.

                  (b) My query to TATA company is why it not providing the PLUS services in this area. And if
                  the company is unable to provide PLUS services then why I am charged for that. I should be
                  paying for Whiz service.

                  (c) In addition to this, internet service is not uninterrupted. Many a times we loose
                  connectivity.

                  (d) In the view of above, i would request the company to do the needful for providing the
                  PLUS services in Kupwara, J&K and if not then the customer must be charged for what they are
                  provided.

                    I had been used tata photon whiz postpaid connection since 7 months.Since last 5 month tata photon bill that i paid to tata teleservices is ok but after completing 5 months tata teleservices sent me tata photon bill by adding account level other charges 100rs extra which had been not applied before 5 months.the account level other charges rs100 applied on my tata photon whiz connection last 3 months though i paid because of i didn't know the details of account level other charges.I registered my complaints regarding account level other charges they registered my complaints at tata photon customer care for getting my account level other charges refund but yet they didn't give me refund and also not clarify the matter about account level other charges also not providing me correct resolution to me. So thing is that i want only my account level other charges refund of 3 months so i request you to help me out to solve this issue as soon as possible.

                      I have bought device costing 2400/- with 2 GB free for 2 Months
                      I got first months billing 1GB rental and 1GBfree with Rs.1230/- for my 3GB Consumption.

                      Second month also approx same amount

                      Now when I asked customer care they explaining Monthly rental charged for free period...
                      It is horrible with TATA Photon..
                      Provided docket no . but no resolution till today...horrible.
                      I dont know if dealer cheating or company cheating...
                      One customer spoke me as per plan the billing is correct. I completely disagree that where the dealer offered me as per pune regional offer

                      2GB/pm for 2 months, which they again and again explaining me when I contact the dealer. If that is the case why customer care is not speaking to dealer and rectify this issue. If it is a wrong commitment given me, then why cant they take action against them and blaming the company name.

                        Dear Sirs,
                        This is notify you that, I have connection of TATA PHOTON WHIZ of CHATTISGARH AREA which is very poor in service. I am receving only speed upto 8 Kbps. TATA PHOTON WHIZ # is [protected], I have made complaint yo local vendor and customer services also and I got complaint docket #[protected], and assured from customer services that ur problem will be resolved within 24 hrs. After 24 Hrs. I again complained for the same to Customer cell. This time they told that service engineer will resolve ur problem within 24 hrs. Alas till this moment nobody has visited to resolve the problem, I have called the customer service #[protected], [protected] & [protected], but nobody is attending calls. I am totally amazed for poor services of reputed TATA GROUP.

                          EVEN I REGISTERED COMPLAINTS REGARDING POOR INTERNET SERVICE & CONTINUOUS FOLLOWING UP WITH CUSTOMER CARE EXECUTIVE, TILL NOW MY PROBLEM IS NOT RESOLVED.

                          FIRST TIME ON 18TH OF SEPTEMBER I REGISTERED A COMPLAINT & THEN ON 21TH OF SEPTEMBER, AGAIN I RAISED A COMPLAINT, CUSTOMER CARE EXECUTIVE TOLD UR PHONE IS NOT RESPONDING, THAT'S WHY THEY ARE NOT COMING & AGAIN CUSTOMER CARE EXECUTIVE TOLD UR PROBLEM WILL BE RESOLVED WITHIN THIS TIME PERIOD, BUT I AM TILL UNABLE TO ACCESS MY INTERNET SERVICE PROPERLY & DOWNLOAD SPEED IS 0.0-1.0KBPS (SAID AS 3.1MBPS).

                          I am sankar nath mahapatra from Bangalore. I am using Tata Photon+. My details are following:

                          I would like to bring you notice that the above mentioned product is not working, which is posing a threat to my regular employment. My Tata photon stopped working from starting, i.e., on September 10, 2010 after which I have contacted costumer care but it asked for some account no. but i was not getting any account no. from u/srvice provider and also send e-mail regarding the same.

                            My name is Amit Kumar. I have purchased Tata photon Plus recently for my home and office use. However from the date of purchase i am not able to get the speed of the product as it was communicated while purchasing the product. Finally i called upon the customer care and they sent an engineer at my home. He talked to his superiors over the phone that i am getting TataWhiz instead of Tata Photon + and assured me that the problem would be fixed within 24 hours. Finally i got the Tata Photon + at my office, CIVIL LINES. However, the problem still exists at my home(Jagat Pur Burari). So i called upon the customer care again and talked to the manager Aakash and Gurjeet consecutively for two days. Aakash told me that the engineer will revisit you as you have network concerns and the last engineer has sent the incorrect parameters but strange no one arrrived and i called up again and Gurjeet told me the engineer has visited according to his database although no one arrived at my home. So i am no place at this time. Its a pathetic product and service that i have ever come acrossed. I should have purchased Reliance net or idea. Please help me out of this problem if anyone can otherwise i have to return this product.

                              Hi, my name is navneet. and i have been using tata photon whiz. I would like to mention the way i was treated and the insult i have been through in past couple of days. I noticed that i had no more use of internet services, so i decided to disconnect it. So, in order to submit my application for disconnection of internet, i went to this TATA indicom store in PHASE 3B1 in MOHALI (PUNJAB). When i told the person sitting on the front desk that i wanted to disconnect my internet, he told me to go and talk to the lady who was sitting behind him. I approached her while she was talking to someone over the phone. I waited her to finish off the call. After 2 minutes, she was done with the call and i told her that i wanted to disconnect my internet. She told me to talk to the lady who was sitting to her left. When i approached her, she asked me why did want to disconnect the internet so i told her that i was not in need of internet anymore. She opened my account in her computer asked me that i had to pay the due amount and it will take 4 days to get it disconnected. I said it was okay i can pay the amount right now and asked her to take my application. (Her attitude was so wrong. She was acting like i was an illiterate and she was superior). She refused, saying that it was in the name of my mother and her signature are mandatory not mine. i said okay i will get an application signed by my mother tommorrow. I wasn't yet finished and she started talking to another customer. I said thank you, but she ignored it. When i left the store, i was feeling so insulted and harrassed. the next day i went with the application duly signed by my mother. When i went next day, there was some other lady. i told her the whole story and she repeated the same procedure so i told her that i had that application signed. But she said that the id proof of your mother is required without it, application can't be accepted. I told her that i woud come tommorrow with the id proof and asked if there was anything else i had to do along with the id proof. she said only id proof is required. Again i left the store and felt like a fool because the previous lady didn't inform me that the id proof is required. She was so arrogant that didn't even bother herself to talk politely. So i went today along with all the required documents. There was the same lady whom i had talked to, the first time. I gave her my application and she asked me to pay the due amount. I paid the due amount which was 771. i asked her to confirm if my internet will be disconnected by 4 days. She said it'll take 15 days and she said it so rudely and carelessly. Again i was so frowned by her attitude. so atlast my application was taken today 23 september 2010.

                              I HAVE BEEN USING OTHER TATA PRODUCTS AND I AM PRETTY MUCH SATISFIED BY THEM. BUT THIS EXPERIENCE WAS TERRIBLE FOR ME. I am so unhappy and disappointed by the attitude of that lady. I don't know her name, but she is the one who takes care of disconnection of services. i went at around 11 am.
                              I also wonder why TATA being such a good company, hire arrogant people to represent TATA. After such a terrible experience, I swear i'll never go to tata indicom outlet, and never buy tata mobile service. i'll tell all of my friends about this incident.

                              TATA Indicom — carelessness and overcharging

                              tata indicom company discontinued my net connection saying my bill limit of 1000 rupees is met. company not deducted 30 hours of free surfing as mentioned. amazing fact is, that they charge you of surfing even if you take data card off from laptop.that way they say my bill is excessing to 1700 and they refuse to discontinue, so they can charge monthly fixed rental.
                              they fool thier clients in net divices also. black device they sell around 2700 rs and blue one of same configuration of around 1700. device simply works with older gen. xp and not with vista. on complaint they send unexperienced and novice persons who cant settle your problems. customer care executives are useless fellows and cant satisfy you and company says strict no when you ask to close down account. you are stuck with those devices and they pressurize you to pay u bills without mentioning device costs.

                              TATA Photon Whiz — some applications are not opening

                              dear all.
                              m using tata photon whiz modem since last 2months.my tata indicom number is [protected].and account number is[protected].since last one week farmville application is not at all opening.whenever i m trying to open an error118 shows on screen.i ve tried the moden on other sysytems also .but the same error message is coming.please help me out.

                                As advertisement are going on for popularity of tata photon+ broadband with speed of 3.1 mbps is just looking like fake.
                                Clearly, I want to say that its 3G speed works only in some hour of the day like in morning or late night.
                                I know that at that time server has less load but this not means in other working hour it slows at the rate of 256kbps. Very embarassing when I saw this type of misbehavior of a trusted company.
                                I hope this forum will work for me as soon as possible it can.
                                (I think this could be a problem of 3G handling stations.)

                                  too slow speed of internet
                                  hello,
                                  I am sumit kumar, I brought photon plus device on 9th august 2010. from the date of purchase I have never been getting net speed more than 0.5% as per their maximum speed. A number of complains I have submitted there from 2nd September of 2010. every person from customer service centre asking for additional time but not a single results came, till now.
                                  what can i do, please suggest me.

Since tomorrow is a holiday....

                                    Another complaint of mine is regarding the speed mentioned.... the speed mentioned while purchasing your product was 3.1mbps download link and 1.8mbps upload link..... But i have been using this product for almost 1month.... but unfortunately never experienced such speed.... the download link speed lingers around 40-50 kbps or even worse sometimes.... i am greatly disappointed on this issue and request your authorities to take an immediate and effective action on this issue.... i had also posted a complaint earlier about this but there was no proper reply.....

                                    I kindly request your authorities to look over my problems as soon as possible.....

                                      Recently I have purchased a tata photon plus device. august 3rd to be precise and my tataphoton number is [protected].
                                      I have taken a monthly plan of 10GB free data download which costs rs 1100/- and with a discount of rs 200/- it comes down to rs 900/-. I have also opted for a night add-on pack of 10GB data which costs another rs 200 and the website claims that the night add-on pack is applicable only from night 11pm to morning 7am.

                                      I opted for this combo of 10GB day time and 10GB night time which is going to cost me totally rs 1100/- (900 + 200). Since i'm a student and i'm not still earning, i was using this very carefully not to cross my allowed free usage of total 20GB. most of the time i was using night time only.

                                      After few days of my usage, i was calling them and mailing them regularly enquiring about my night usage details. They kept on saying that it is not possible to view them separately and that i can check my total usage (day time + night time) together on the website online and that the night usage will be deducted at end of the month in the final bill. I have the proofs of all this conversations in my mail. Every one said same thing , not to worry and go ahead and use it.

                                      in the last week of the month they have disconnected my device saying that i have crossed my credit limit of 2500. I was shocked... !! at that time i just used 16GB of data most of which is night usage. so i still had 4 GB of data left. When i sent a series of mails, and a series of calls, they said that it was a mistake and they told me to pay rs 1600/- to acitvate the device. When i asked them that why shud i pay more than rs 1100?? they said that they would adjust the extra amount in next months bill. I paid the amount.

                                      I was very scared of further usage and used only 1GB more and that too strictly night time. At the end of the month my totall bill was rs 4600/- out of which it said i cleared rs 1600/- . This time i was totally shocked and again had to call them around 10 times. sent them many mails. They again said that they would check it.

                                      Finally one day i got a call from them saying that my bill was absolutely correct. I told them that i still have 3GB of data left for the month and how can it cross rs 1100/- . Finally they revealed the top secret that for claiming the night usage, i should disconnect my device and connect it at 11pm again. Otherwise it will be counted as day usage only. Even on the website they did not give any such information.

                                      I was very angry with them for not telling me this from the beginning of the month inspite of hundreds of interactions. After arguing so much with them they said that they can only give rs 500 discount.

                                      I ended up paying rs rs 4120/- when i'm supposed to pay only rs 1100/-

                                      They looted from me rs 3000/-. The government should sue the company for looting the customers.
                                      I'm a student and i had to struggle a lot to get those extra 3000 rs. please do justice to me. and save many others from such a disaster.

                                      I had great respect for the TATAS for their sincerity and loyalty... but now its all gone.

                                      "Day/Night classification for data download eligibility in relation to a particular session will be done on the basis of start time of the session."

                                      According to the above statement, If I start a session during Day time(7:00 AM to 11:00 PM) and continue the session into the Night time(11:00 PM to 7:00 PM), without disconnecting the device, it will be considered as Day usage. But, if I start a session during Night time and continue the session into the Day time, will it be considered as Night usage?

                                      And one more thing. Who on the earth would understand that, from the website that we need to disconnect the device and reconnect it.

                                      The above person clearly stated that even after repeated queries you have not told him about disconnecting the device.

                                      It would be better if you mention the details about the disconnecting the device on the website(Should be easily accessible to users. Not somewhere hidden where even google can't find them).

                                      It would be even better if you remove this irritating procedure of disconnecting and just do the classification of Day/Night usage based on the time, by just starting a new session whenever Day/Night time starts.

                                      Do you feel that a mere 500rs is a good will gesture when he is just a student and had to pay 4000 bucks?

                                      Who in their right mind can understand their terms of disconnecting the device for night usage by just looking at the info given at the site? i am really disappointed that these things are taking place with a company like TATAs.
                                      "if i start a session during Night time and continue the session into the Day time, will it be considered as Night usage?", i dont think they have any answer for that subbu88!

                                      I thank adityatelidevara for sharing his problem because i was almost about to buy the device.Now i should look at other options like Airtel or Reliance. For me money is not imporant, but the service is what we all want!!
                                      And i would recommend all the people not to go for a service where they think they can getaway with anything once the user buys their service.

                                        I have purchased a Tata Photon Plus device on 3rd Sep 2010. Tata Photon Plus claims that this device has the speed up to 3.1 mbps but I did not get speed beyond 10kbps - 20kbps. Also customer care of tata frustrates the consumers a lot. We have to keep waiting for 10-20 mins just to get the call picked up on customer care.

                                        The issue has not been resolved yet and Tata customer care says it will take 3-4 months to resolve this issue. You people say can you go with this tired, slow and poor service.

                                        The service has really made me into a deep stress and frustration as I have suffer with a lot of loss of time/work and money just due to Tata Teleservices Ltd. Do you also know Tata teleservices made many consumers of our great India in deep stress and frustration just because of its worst service in India.

                                        JAAGO GRAHAK JAAGO!!!

                                        Last but not least, never make a mistake of buying Tata Photon Plus!!!
