My name is Deepak Negi, I got my photon activated on 3rd of July 2010. I advice everyone not to buy a photon connection they have a very poor billing system in place. From 3rd July 2010 to 02nd Aug 2010 it shows my current data usage of 2334mb I was surprised to see that because I thought it should have been around 700mb obviously if I have only used only web mails and a few social networking sites also include my Automatic updates of windows and any other updates on other applications are turned off. And I got mad when I saw the unbilled usage on 8th August 2010 which shows in 5 days my current data usage is beyond then 4 GB. I suspected a billing problem and I registered a complaint number[protected] and which was expected to resolve by 14/08/2010 and it is not resolved yet despite the quick resolution from Tataindicom I noticed another serious issue which is even though you don't use your photon for the day it shows you the used data which you haven't I again turned back to their customer care and they only suspect a cloning issue and funny part is only few of them. Technically it's poor also after getting authenticated to the server the modem a lot of time bugs with no internet packets
a lot of time for the three days it dint work and once 10 days also however I always get to see the unbilled amount and data usage increased day by day. Promises by them are fake they never call back for the resolution they will entertain your problem and surely increase some mental stress every time they call.

Considering below issues of other photon users finally I decided to block my photon connection to release my mental stress. WOW I was happy to know it was already blocked because of the credit limit approached though services got blocked.

IS IT POSSIBLE IF YOUR CONNECTION IS BLOCKED AND YOU EVERYDAY SEE YOUR UNBILLED OR DATA USAGE GETTING INCREASED

I really don't care now whether they resolve it or not.
I am posting my complaint to let everyone know this what happened.
HELP please if anyone can.

    i purchased tata photon whiz on 2nd jan 2010.i got free usage for a month.but the service was so pathetic.your will unroot your hair but the webpage won't open.the local dealer 'G Keswan' told me that its the network problem for sometime.so i waited but it was not resolved.so he recommended me PHOTON PLUS assuring that it will give a better service.so i changed to PHOTON PLUS around 20th march.the speed was little better. and...

    my wireless usb device is not activated

    There are serious issues of absurd/overcharging in respect of my Photonplus internet post paid connection no [protected]. I had a balance of Rs.450 on 02.08.10 which got lapsed as I could not recharge on line due to failure of Tataphoton plus ichoose site. On 03.08.10, I refilled Rs.200 but Rs.125 got deducted in few minutes without any use. On repeated complaints, I was informed I had a negative balace which had been deducted. As per usage as well as information in my account, I had balace of rs.450 on 02.08.10. Despite repeated complaints, there has not been any redressal and I end up spending another Rs.200 on mobile phone charges. On 23.08.10, again Rs.85 got deducted in just 2 min o[censored]se wherein I downloaded a file of hardly 150KB. This is not expected from a reputed company like Tata. Pl look into & reverse my wrongly deducted amount without further delay.

      FOR A FEW MONTHS TIME AVOID TATA PHOTON INTERNET CONNECTION ..

      TO ALL THE OVER-BILLING COMPLAINTS POSTED HERE, THEY ARE GIVING A SIMILAR SWEET RESPONSE THAT THEY WILL RESOLVE IT..

      BUT IF THE INSIDER HAS TO BELIEVE , WE MUST AVOID TATA PHOTON AT ALL COSTS FOR A FEW MONTHS, UNTIL THEY GET THEIR SOFTWARE PROBLEMS SORTED..NO COMPANY WILL ACCEPT ITS DEFECT ON AN ALL INDIA FORUM...

      Well I agree with the above. Till 14th Aug my usage was showing 10.6 GB and from 15th Aug to 22nd Aug I was not using it as I was packed with the family occasion. Today, 23rd Aug, 2010 which is my billing date, when I checked it online, its showing the usage of more than 15 GB. Thats really pathetic. Same is the case with reliance serivces. From where we will get the ethical services? thats the biggest question.

          Hi,
          My Tata Photon Plus Account Number is[protected] and my Tata Indicom Number is [protected].
          I have had some surprise emails recently from Tata Tele Services that I have crossed my usage limit.
          On checking my usage details, it is very clear that I did not cross my stipulated Usage limit of 10GB as on 7th Aug 2010(the last date of billing cycle).
          I have still not recieved the Bill for the month of July(8th July - 7th Aug).
          On further checking, I found that the Bill has not been generated for the month of July(8th July - 7th Aug).
          And their computers have merged my Usage details for the month of August with that of July and hence according to their computers, I have exceeded the Credit limit allotted to me.
          To top that, my account was barred from accessing the net today because I allegedly crossed my credit limit(which very clearly,I have not).
          So to sort this out, I called the customer care who transferred me around to 5 different persons where 4 of them could not understand my problem and gave me the same answer that I need to go to a far away place called Baddi(for no mistake of mine) and pay the outstanding amount of Rs.1250(Which is supposed to be nil) to get this sorted out.
          Finally the 5th Person(Whose name I dont remember)after 90 minutes in the call understood my problem and created this docket number[protected] for me.
          Anyways, I now went to the nearest Tata Indicom outlet and deposited Rs.1800 today and now I have my net connection up and running.
          However,this amount will be exhausted very soon if Tata TeleServices do not generate my previous month's bill.

          Now Tata TeleServices,if you are seeing this, Please send me the bill for the billing cycle starting 8th July to 7th August after adjusting the amount that I have just deposited.
          And please sort this out as soon as possible as I do not have time for going through all this in the future.
          If this situation arises again, I need to switch to a rival product where I hope I would get better service.

          Tata Photon Plus — Incorrect Billing

          Hi

          I took photon plus in the month of Aug and got 1st month free rental. I'm into Rs750 2GB plan, and during the bill period 05Sep 2009 - 04Oct 2009, my internet usage was only 1.3GB and my photonplus bill was reported to be Rs 1236 for the month of Sep. When my usage itself didn't cross 2GB, how come my bill is Rs1236 when my plan is just Rs750??

          Made several calls, askd them to rectify the bill and also requested them not to disconnect my service as the billing fault is with tata. Finally today i made my 23rd call to customer care in this regard, the customer care says my connection has been dropped as i didn't pay the bill. Tata photon plus cu. care sucks in this regard. They dont fix the problem and top of that creating more hassles.

          Please let me know how can i take this upto their higher authority

            This is to complain you regarding the TATA PHOTON, I am having with me. My name is Pravesh Lakhera and my Phone Number is [protected].

            I have bought this device from "ADITYA INTERNATIONAL, Vikas Marg"

            I have been to your service center "KHURANA BROTHERS, Vikas Marg" for more than 5 times since this problem has occured they have changed the device for 5 times but still its not working, everytime it is showing "DEVICE NOT FOUND". Both of them are not able to tell me what is the problem with the device or your connection.

            But 5 times is more than anyone's patience. I have my other works also to do, will you please check the problem and let me know what is the problem and how it will get corrected and how much time will it take?

            Or tell me if you people cannot solve this problem, then please refund my money back and I will discontinue with your services, as I am already fed up of your bad services.

            Kindly look after this issue and let me know regarding the improvements, if any.

              Sir,
              I had rechearced my photon whiz no [protected] with a Rs 333 easy recharge pack which I was told was an unlimited plan. As I had a negative blance of Rs 18 I had also recharged with Rs 10 and Rs 50 topup.
              Subsequently, after I had surfed the internet for only 2 hours all my balance was deducted and I have since not been able to log on to the internet through the photo whiz.
              After I had contacted the customer care they told me that some sites are chargeable, but could not provide me any information as to which sites were chargeable, nor did the dealer had earlier informed me that charges might be deducted for some sites.
              It seems tata photo has deducted my balance at its wishes and is fooling customers with such unlimited plans.
              Also even if it deducts charges for plans how much can it deduct for 2 hours surfing certainlly not some Rs 480/-.
              Sir kindly look into the matter and stop such malpratices.

                iam prakash chandra juyal bought tata indicom photon 6 months ago in the monthe of january, my usage is limited upto download limit of 1GB a month thats why i bought this plan,this month bill period 21/06/10-20/7/10 they have given me a bill of Rs 2714, which i dont know on what basis are they charging when i know that i havent used to such a limit,iam submitting an application asking them to discontinue the service and informing them that i wont be able to pay the bill until n unless they provide me with the details of the usage as well as the correct bill.

                TATA Photon Whiz — wrong billing

                Hi my name is Mr Mukul Roy . I am a Photon wizz Customer. But I am not satisfied by your Monthly bill for the month of OCT 2010 . My rental is Rs 574 per month but I was charged Rs 683 for the month of Oct 2010 with out any usage of your service. As I was out of station for the last month . So I was unable to use your service . But can you explain me why I was charge Rs 683 rather than Rs 574 with any usage ? I have already paid the bill as per due date. But I want to kno abt this wrong charge of bill on Photon Wizz ??
                So please do the needfull to correct this problem or else I will Be Bound to leave your service .

                  They advertise speeds o[censored]pto 3.1 Mbps but provide only around 250 Kbps in a city like ahmedabad. What is the minimum quality of service they guarantee to provide? They defined the maximum at 3.1 Mbps, but what about the minimum? Even at 50% quality of the advertised speed would be around 1.5 Mbps. They should not mislead the customer with such false advertisements. The customer care service of Tata Photon is equally pathetic. First of all, they don't answer you and even if they do, they don't solve your problems at all. They just tell you to follow certain steps to increase the speed, which actually has no effect whatsoever in the speed.

                    I am a tata photon plus pre paid customer. I want to recharge my connection by credit card thro' internet. I could not get any facility in your website for this. Please let me know how i will recharge my connection thro' your website by my credit card.
                    most companies allow recharge and purchase through credit cards. so its really surprising that a big service provider like tata photon from tata cannot offer this service. i had written a mail to them about this a few days back, for which they haven't given any response till date.

                    i am vedula nageswara rao. i had tried thrice to recharge my tata photon online through net banking but my a/c has been debited thrice and recharge was failed all the 3 times. twice my amount has been refunded and one more txn is still pending for refund. sorry to say, VERY POOR SERVICES.

                      I AM USING PHOTON+ SERVICE, MY PHOTON+ NO [protected] GENERALLY GET A SPEED OF 204kbps TO 500kbps SPEED WHILE USE, WHICH SUPPOSED TO BE 3100kbps AND FEELS LIKE . WHEN I LOG OUT FROM ANY SITE ,SOMETIMES IT TAKES 6 MINUTES DO THAT OPERATION.
                      CUSTOMER CARE OF PHOTON IS THE WORST DEPARTMENT IN THIS WORLD. WHEN WE COMPLEAIN 4 THE SPEED THEY SAID SIR WE CANT DO SOMTHING WE GIVES 300 kbps U GOT VERY GUD SPEED.                         I purchased Tataphoton+ wireless broadband service on 29th July 2010. The account number is[protected] and the dell number (I hope I got the spelling right) is [protected].

                        When I purchased it from a dealer, I was promised activation in 2 days, i.e. by Saturday, 31st July.

                        I contacted the helpline number and they raised a ticket[protected] on Sunday 1st August.

                        I was advised to go the Tata Indocomm dealership in Madhapur Main Road, Hyderabad to have them check the installation.

                        I went on Monday, 2nd August. The person there checked my installation, then uninstalled it and installed it again.

                        He then closed the earlier ticket -(which had the status of Service Engineer had called, but Customer has not responded - obviously completely untrue as I did not receive any call).

                        Anyway, he closed that ticket and gave me a second ticket number.[protected]. The Service Engineer turned up that evening at 6:30 PM and could not resolve it. He called his Test Center and they confirmed that my Credit Check had an invalid entry and that needed to be corrected.

                        Right after that, I received a call from someone from Tata Indicomm. He said that the activation date mentioned in my application was 04th August and that I would receive a call and it would all be sorted out.

                        He then closed[protected] and raised ticket[protected]. I called today on Tuesday, 3rd August and wanted to inquire about the status of this ticket.

                        That ticket was now closed and I was given another ticket[protected].

                        During all this, I was being continuously assured that they were "extremely sorry about the inconvenience and it would be sorted out very soon"

                        I called today, 04th August 2010 to ask about this ticket, I was told resolution is underway. I wanted a timeframe, but beyond saying "Sorry for the invconvenience" no other firm commitments were made nor was I informed what exactly the problem was.

                        I asked to speak to the Supervisor - a Mr. Ahmed came oneline and I asked him how I could get my money back as I have wasted a whole week just being given the runaround.

                        He says Tata will not return any money. He said it politely, but this is still ridiculous. He now mentions that my application has mentioned 5th August as the activation data - a complete lie and contradictory to what I was told on Monday.

                        I would like someone from Tata Indicomm to tell me why they should not be classified as thieves and liars based on my above interaction.

                        They do not have any provision for return of the money paid for the Modem that has not been activated and does not come with any assurance of activation, beyond mere platitudes.

                        I will do my best to convince my colleagues and friends to rely on the local cable operator to provide internet access rather than these branded crooks.

                          I am using tata indicom photon +.
                          on 03rd Aug 2010 i have asked one of your service centre at Old Bus Stand, Opp to Glass House, IT Park building personally to Recharge it for Rs 200/-
                          Till today (04 Aug 2010), i dint get any recharge and i am not able to work with device

                          Please recharge my device as soon as possible
                          and The servic prooviders that unit are not responding properly, they wint lift calls or otherwise they are lifting and not talking.
                          This is my complaint regarding Recharge and The service Centre People also.
                          Please take necessary action

                            I have taken a tata photon plus on 30th of july 10, my device MIED no. is A000001AA3FB47. I have requested for the details of the device in net and one Mr. Munendra from Prithvi infocom agency brigade road called me stating he is from tata. He offered me the device and i booked it blindly thinking that Photon is the gadget of the year. I have submitted all the documents to them as requested by them & my device got activated two. That was the only day I enjoyed Tata photon as i experienced speed. Since then, I am suffereing. The speed went down on the 2nd day itself to 20-30 kb and I recieved call from tata (sajitha)stating that they need passport scan copies too as they hv to submit before 31st evening or else my device will be disconnected. I have taken trouble and sent it to them and they assured all documents are in place. Next day itself my device got disconnected on 1st or august.

                            I have already made complaints to them several times ( ref docket no.[protected] but all are coming up with a new response and reasons. I have submitted the agency no. to them and delivery boy no. also. It was promised to me that within 24 hours my service will be activated because documents has not reached HO. One guy said you have not recieved the Invoice yet, it will be activated once you recieve that, one Gentleman Mr. nagraj called me yesterday evening and connected me to the delivery boy through conference and promised within 15-20 min service will be activated. Not surprising one lady called me half an hour back stating that your rental agreement needs to have notory seal thats why your tata photon plus is deactivated.

                            I am fed up with the customer care now. Because all are just responding to my calls but nobody is giving me a solution.

                            Everyone please be carefull Tata photon carrys speed and they will screw you with much faster speed.
                            I have sent a mail to there nodal officer also around one hour back. but till now i have not recieved acknowledgement of complaint too.

                                My Tata Photon Number is [protected] ,Application Form number:MHROM1625990.
                                I have a standard chartered credit card, and I got news that I can get Tata photon+ in 1499 rupees. So I decided to buy, but I did not find any shop for
                                that so on 23/07/2010 I gone to the Head Office of Tata indicome near pune court. I don’t know what kind of office was that, so much security, perhaps to
                                avoid customer(sale/profit). I asked to security person that I want to buy Photon+, he introduced me to sales person roaming there, but unfortunately he was
                                not aware of that Offer of Rs.1499, he told me that go to the indicom office at Matri House FC Road Pune.

                                On 24th July I gone to that office, I told to the lady there that I want that standard chartered offer but nobody knew about it, what a joke, that offer was
                                running from last 15 days and your sales office don’t know. after 2 hours of calling and discussion they knew that yes that offer is on and you can take. so I filled the form and gone to payment counter, I said that I want to pay by credit card, again joke, he said my credit card machine is not working so I gone to ATM to take cash, as soon as I withdraw money he called me that now credit card machine is working, I came back and gave him my card, he swapped my card but not able to do because device was not charged, so he said wait for 15-20 minutes and let me charge that machine. After 30 minutes he gain try and result was same, so in finally I paid in cash and asked the executive , when it will start?. He said till Monday an executive will come to your home, and he will activate your modem, but that day he did not tell my A/c No, Photon Number etc., and not even any contact number to know the status.

                                I waited till Tuesday but it was not being activated, because he did not give me any contact number, so I had to go again to that office to ask when it will
                                start, he cheeked some mails etc and replied, An executive will come to your home today till 9 o'clock night, I asked his contact number but he said we don’t have any contact number here and he will call me and ask the status. But nobody came to my home and even he did not call me to ask the status.

                                On Thursday (29/07/2010) I again went to office, and said when it will be activated. again he smiled and said that your name is in today’s
                                list wait till 8PM or call me, This time I asked for his contact number aggressively so he had to give me. as expected nothing happened, so I called him, now look what he said “the executive who suppose to come to meet you shown negligence and he written that your address is not confirm and my mobile is not
                                reachable" then I laughed/surprised that how u able to call me if he is not. He said no problem sir tomorrow I will activate your devise from here and will
                                tell you how to create profile there.

                                Next day I called him again at 4PM he said call to me after 5PM. I tried his mobile from 5 PM to 8 PM it was switched off, after that I was able to call him, He told me steps to create a profile and then he said click on connect. It got an error message "Error: 768: Remote computer did not respond". He told sir
                                tonight till 9PM a person will come to fix this problem. as expected nobody came. so another day I called to customer care they said your modem still not
                                activated.

                                This is the problem I am suffering from: I want to ask some questions to you people.
                                1. Is this the way to do business? I am also do work, if I will do work like that my company will throw me out.
                                2. Why Tata indicome works like government office, lazy and pathetic.
                                3. Do you really want to sell your products or everything is just to teas your customer.

                                In my life first time I am dealing with Tata indicome, I had reliance mobile; I am very much pleased with it. I had BSLN wireless modem I was happy with its
                                service, because of speed I decided to move from BSNL to Photon Plus ...but I am totally frustrated now
                                Now I understand why tataindicome is not able to compete with reliance and other big leader. I want to tell you one thing surly if these people will work like
                                that you cannot grow.. Tata’s name cannot save them.

                                Again I am requesting to you people activate, my modem or give me back my money with interest and also give me back my money I have wasted to make call to
                                your pathetic executives.

                                  I had taken a Tata Photon Plus connection recently through the Standard Chartered Bank customer special offer. I was promised by the sales executive who approached me with this offer stating that there would be a 20 GB free usage for 2 months. I received the device on 13th July’10 and got activated on the same day. Since I did not get any welcome calls I called the call center the next day and requested for details of my plan. The call center agent had given me the following information “July 13th to August 13th and August 13th to September 13th is the free period and I will be billed only if I exceed 20 GB. My first billing cycle starts from September 13th” Later I was disappointed to see a bill which has got generated
                                  I raised a complaint with the call center agent -Complaint#[protected], promised that I would get a call back but till 28th July none of them had called me back. Now when I call the call center for updates on my complaint they inform me that it has been closed and they are not ready to give proper explanation. What type of customer service is this.? If the very 1st billing cycle is going to be of this status then what will be the condition of the future billing and the service.?

                                  **MY GENUINE ADVICE TO ALL OUT THERE** BUY ANY CRAP EXCEPT TATA PHOTON PLUS. THEY JUST TRY TO CHEAT THE CUSTOMERS AND EARN MONEY.

                                  CONSUMER COURT COMPLAINT SHALL BE FILLED BY AUGUST END. THEY HAVENT RESPONDED TO ANY OF MY EMAILS...YET..
                                  They are selling post paid cards for cheating business, so that raise the billing and getting the money from the customer. And helpless customer paying the money for the sake of device cost, which they purchased
                                  I am even troubled in prepaid service. I recharged on 18th October but they say that it ll be done on 26th October and hence the balance will not be added forward
