There was an issue with a particular channel (Zee Studio) reception which was not coming at all. We raised a complain a technician visited us. He was not able to solve the issue and said he would send another technician. He also suggested to change the channel package subscription. No other technician visited us. Later we changed subscription package itself. Our new package does not include 'Zee Studio'. Later we found that Tata Sky has levied a service charge of Rs 170/- on 15th Nov, 2015.
We raised a complain asking the reason for the charge as there was no service provided by TataSky technician as he was not able to solve the issue. Every time we get standard reply saying - "As requested, we would like to inform you that the account is not in warranty hence the field repair charges of Rs.170.0/- will be applicable as per the policy hence we are unable to credit the amount."
I have sent several email asking them to explain the service provided and justify the charge. But always we get standard reply. Once even they accepted to credit 100 and then 120 but it was not acceptable to me as I should have been refunded full amount of Rs 170 as it is illegal charge.
First complain number is - SR[protected]
then several auto generated request number are there which get generated every time I send them the mail - M8I6M6E, M8R46MW, M99VVV8, M99VVV8, MB4V5K8.
So the crux is -
1. There was an issue with one particular channel reception. Other channels were fine. (This also suggest that there were no issues with equipments the consumer is associated with)
2. There could be some other technical issue with 'Tata Sky' infrastructure. It is out of my ambit to comment further.
3. No resolution was provided by visiting technician.
4. Suggested 'official' resolution was to change the subscription package by visiting technician.
For this we were charged Rs 170.

Thanks for atleast noticing my mail. But I don't have any particular complain to any executive. My complain is about illegal/unjustified charge levied by Tata Sky. Whatever executive discussed with me is also representing Tata Sky not him/her self. So my complain remain same which I am again repeating -

As this complain is just dragging without any resolution, in my first step I am going to place this whole incident on Tata Sky facebook page today evening so that others should also be knowing about how Tata Sky levied unjustified charges and put his customers in mental agony including whole family members having two senior citizens who are deprived of entertainment (TV) since December.

Here is the update from tele-conversation -
Initially they confused with subscriber ID, probably because I have another connection in different city. The subscriber ID related to this complain is - [protected]. They should have got these details with the complain number in the subject line.
I got first call from Shruthi at 11:14 am on 12th Jan from [protected]. After correcting the confusion over subscriber ID she got the history of complain. When I explained that the issue of 'Zee Studio' reception was not solved by the visiting technician. He suggested to change the plan and also told that he will send another technician to solve the issue.
She accepted the issue over phone and told that she will activate the account (as currently it is deactivated because of low balance) and credit INR 100/-. I refused this offer as my fight was against the illegal charge levied on me rather the amount. So if they accept the charge is not justified then they should revert the charge fully. Then she said that she need to contact higher ups and call later.
Next call I got from Shruthi at 11:39 am on 12th Jan from [protected]. She told she had contacted and discussed with someone and at max they can credit INR 120/-. I didn't accept this for the same reason. I asked them to reply the same over the email.
After this the mail mentioned above came saying just - "As requested, we would like to inform you that the account is not in warranty hence the field repair charges of Rs.170.0/- will be applicable as per the policy hence we are unable to credit the amount."
As they did not reply in detail I have write all this in email for the record.
So my question to Tata Sky is - what service they have provided and charged INR 170/-? What was the issue with customer owned devices and what was the resolution?
Hope I will get some detailed response rather that the standard response as earlier. You can contact me at [protected] but I prefer to have discussion over email.

I assume you are aware of the issue reported. The complain was- "a particular channel was not coming - 'Zee Studio'". This package was in our list of channels earlier (a-la-carte channels) when the complain was raised.
The service person came and he could not find the solution of the issue. Please note that the issue was NOT fixed/root caused. He said that he may send some other person (might be senior technician) and left.
He even suggested to change the package subscription - so weird suggestion from Tata Sky technician (official suggestion).
Later we just changed to 'Base Package' and added channels.
When he was departing we also said that we should not be charged as you have not found root cause neither you provided any technical solution. There was no issue with set top box and nothing was resolved by your technician.

You must have noticed that there was a recharge of INR 300/- after his visit and change of package subscription too. Afterwards we found that Rs 170/- service charge is charged. And we found it unreasonable/unjustified. The same can also be repeated in future. Hence we were reluctant to recharge again until we resolve unjustified charge levied on us.
My personal opinion until the issue is proved to be with the equipments at customer site, customer should not be charged just because a so called 'technician' visited at customer place. If the issues is with Tata Sky infrastructure customer should not be charged for visit. Anyway it is policy decision.
In my case I was charged with no resolution ... ohhh sorry the resolution was to change the package subscription and its charge is INR 170/-.
