Hi,

I am staying in Sukh-Shanti Apartments,GH-15,Sec-56,Gurgaon.

All the apartments are geeting daily newspaper delivery quite late in the morning(Not earlier than 9.00AM).By this time,most of the people already had left for their offices.

I have complained to the relevant delivery boy and the relevant newspaper manager who comes for money calculation.But their response is that we have insufficient staff for delivery.

I request to kindly take this up and help lot of customers in our residencial apartments for getting their services.

Wrong information published in the Times of India - Coimbatore City Times dtd. 2-Mar-2013, Saturday regards to Event of Engineering Expo - Techno4 at Codissia Trade Faire Complex, Avinashi Road. When I reached to the Codissia Trade Faire then i came to know from security person that the Event of the Engineering Expo is postponed. I lost approx. This is to inform that I have been a regular subscriber of times of India English newspaper for the last 3 years. Till date I have never received a valid and printed newspaper bill from the newspaper company. I questioned the same to my paper boy and he helped me in contacting some so called officials of times of India who were the City/Regional Heads. Even they spoke very rudely and when I was hell-bent on receiving a bill, they told me that I get the same. Its been now 3 years and did not receive a bill for the same. My paper boy says that he is helpless as he is not given the bill and hence cannot provide us. This is a serious concern as it can cause a lot of financial loss to the ex-chequer.

On follow up action of your Gariahat Dealer Mr. S mondal ‘s representative Mr. Ram Babu Kamathi and also as a permanent customer-of Times Of India I paid yearly renewal cheque for Rs 390/= on 26.11.2012 in your favour to be effective from 01.12.2012. The cheque was debited from my a/c on 5.12.2012. But you issued 12 monthly valid cupons, stamped on 15.12.2012 . While paying monthly bill to the hawker he asked for 14 days' price from 01.12.2012 to 14.12.2012 in addition to the I month’s coupon. Logically the last month’s coupon is valid up to 06.12.2012 issue/stamped date being 7.12.2011. At best the hawker can ask for 8 days’ price( From 07.12.2012 to 14.12.2012) not for 14 days’.
2. In order to resolve the issue please clarify the position as to How the coupon is valid For 1 month i.e.,30 /31 days’ or from Issuing date 07.12.2011. Coupons are issued on monthly basis and for 12 full months the issue date may be different but seems to be effective from 01.12.2012 in our renewal case. So please advise your Gariahat Dealer to value the Dec’12 coupon for full 1 month and not from stamped date (15 days’) and oblige
3. In response to our several enquiries to your Gariahat vender for clarification his reply to us was against any such payment for 14 days’ but on the contrary advised our hawker to element such type of customer henceforth and did not valid the coupon for Dec ‘12 from 15.12.2012. As advised by your Dealer do you also suggest us to discontinue reading Times Group of News papers to oblige the vender? If not, please advise your Gariahat vender and us suitably about the effective date to avoid any confrontation..

On 26.11.2012along with renewal cheque of Times of India we also paid the 6 months' renewal subscription cheque for Rs 175/= debited to my a/c on 19.12..2012 for your Bengali version 'EI samay' to be valid from 15.03.2013 since last subscription ID no. 30841975 coupon No: 9017791 Order No: [protected] dt. 15.12.2012 is valid till 14.03.2013. But unfortunately and inadvertently you again issued coupon from 15.12.2012 with fresh ID no::31158080 coupon No: 872907 Order N0: 27698675. This is done by the scrupulous, RRE name : Ram Babu Kamathi of Gariahat Dealer S.Mondal on 1st renewal. . On enquiry, Ram Babu assured us to accept all coupons to effect till it finishes i.e ,14.10.2013. So I request you to give effect the renewed ID NO:31158080 ,Coupon NO: 8729070, Order No:[protected] w.e.f. 15.03.2013 instead of 15.12.2012 to till 14.10.2013. Pl settle the issue in such a way so that I can utilise all the 12 ( 6 old+ 6 renewed) coupons i.e, for the whole year.

We have subscribed for annual Newspaper plan in January 2013.
And a cheque of 299/- has been deposited on the name of Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd.
The cheque was realised by 7th of Feb but till date we have not received newspaper.

The sales person, Balu took the cheque but I cannot contact him. He visited me in Iyyapanthangal, Chennai-56.

hi i m prashant jagdale reader of toi i lk to purchase d newspaper on daily basis myself . i saw that d seller in baramati area take rs 9 for sunday times while it shws d cost of 7rs so why one can pay 2rs more for d issue . sometime we couldnt get timeslife in d issue in sundays paper so i hv sinceir request to toi to look into this .and proper circulatin of newspaper at coorect price.

I have recently paid the subscription and the period started from 1st Feb 2013.
The Details are: M. Arunachalam, Plot # 34, Rajaji Avenue, Valasarawakkam, Chennai-600087.
But only on 4 and 5th the paper has been dropped and no other day it was.
I am irritated and going to complaint through consumer court. Actually a private vendor is correctly supplied till 31st Jan 2013 and now i am regretting why i should have stopped him.
Do the needful immediately and need an explanation for this within 48 hours from the receipt of this mail.

I take TIMES OF INDIA newspaper from SHUBHAM ASSOCIATES (U-5/27,Ground floor,DLF phase III ,Gurgaon),(Mob:[protected]).

He mischieflt gives a bill of Rs 190/- every month and when i asked about the details he said 5/- for each day(5*30=150) and 40 /-service charges

whereas the actual price of newspare is 4.5/-on week days and 5/-only on weekends,that comes to( 4.5*20) + (5*10) approximately taking 5 saturdays and 5 sundays, and 20 woking days.
And also as per my knowledge he is wrongly taking service charges which is also inappropriate as we have seen this in any other place we have resided.

the issue is small with respect to money involved but is a mirror of wrong people in all spheres.kindly try to resolve the matter.

I have subscribed for annual subscription with Times of India. When i change my address from Padi to Thirumullaivoyal i am not getting received my paper for the past 4 months even after repeated follow-ups with stupid/mad/non-sense Times of India Chennai/Thirumullaivoyal office

Whenever i am sending mails or calling them they are not at all bother about the same. If they unable to deliver the paper or return my money then for what the [censored] they are publishing that they one of the leading newspaper supplier

I renewed my subscription to Times of India newspaper for the period from 1st October 2012 to 30th September 2013 on 17th September 2012 giving my cheque. Cheque was collected by Mr. Veeraswami from my home. (He is the same man who collected by subscription for last year on 21.09.11).

Newspaper was not supplied from 1st October as was expected. On questioning, regular newspaper boy said they have not received any instruction from TOI. When I contacted crm.[protected]@timesgroup.com (whose email is given at the back of the receipt) by email after a few days, I was told the cheque is not cleared. Then I came to know that the cheque GIVEN ON 17.09.12 was deposited after 1st October. Crm.chennai was so arrogant to tell me by e-mail to issue a ‘stop payment’ order or stop subscription!! By the time cheque was already cleared by my bank. Besides, a stop payment order would have cost me money as bank imposes some charges.

Newspaper was not supplied until 23rd of October 2012. After that newspaper was missing intermittently. Now during the month of December 2012, newspaper was missing on 9th, 10th and from 13th to 18th (date of this note). Crm also informed me that new subscription actually starts from 14th October 2012. He/she could not answer as to why newspaper was stopped from 1st October as earlier subscription should have continued till 13th October if crm is to be believed. This shows how ignorant a responsible ‘crm’ is about facts.

In the meantime one gentleman Mr. Madhavan from TOI, Chennai along with agent Mr. Shanmugam had visited my house in October on a fact-finding enquiry trip when I was not at home.

I have sent several e-mails to crm but no action seems to have been taken. Another significant development is: the delivery man had told me to ‘renew subscription with him and not directly with TOI’. As such, when Mr. Veerasami came to renew subscription I called the agent Mr. Shanmugam on the number he had given last year ([protected]). He did not answer the call. (most of the times he will not answer phone calls). Only alternative left to me is to file complaint with Consumer Court against TOI for deficiency in service and cheating.

Newspaper is an essential product which is exempt even from bandhs and hartals.

One thing is clear: the CRM and his/her agent Shanmugham have been successful in discrediting TOI which is a respected newspaper.

I am writing this to various Consumer Organisations to spread TOI’s reputation to maximum number of people!!!

I paid one year subscription to Times of India chennai and i was assured of paper will be delivered from[protected]. But till to day no paper i received i sent two e mail complaints but no action. I keep calling their chennai office since 31-11-12 and every day i am lodging complaint but no action from their side. Very worst.

7 months back I have subscribed for Times Of India News Paper for 6 months and completed the time period. Again one month back I have paid the amount for Times of India news paper & I received for 2 weeks only. Later I am not receiving any paper (since 2 weeks), if I called the concern person they replying as they will check it. But still no proper response. And in first 6 months also I didn't received paper for a week.

I am a regular user of times of india news paper from past 15years. i am the resident of mahesh nagar, near gudimalkapur market. i have subscribed 6 months/200rs offer. From last few days paper boy is giving Deccan cronicle paper instead of times of india. some times he is not giving paper at all. i have informed him. still the result is same.

i am requesting you to take action as soon as possible.

I have paid annual subscription Rs.990/- by cheque no187274,dt.29.03.2012, cleared from SBI Wadala branch on 30.05.2012, and Rs.1/- by cash to Time of India vendor (Paperwala) Mr.Salvi. pathanwadi, malad (east) mumbai - 400 097, till date no coupon issue by Times of India. If Times of India unable to start (daily news paper) subscription copy to me then please refund my payment Rs.991/- a waiting your reply.

LAST 2 DAYS SUPPLY IS STOPPED ON THE GROUNDS THAT MY SUBSC.PERIOD IS OVER. I have registered for yearly subscription for Times Of India(TOI), second year am renewal for the same @ INR 299. But this year local News paper agent asked to pay extra amount INR 240 per annul. Which is close to annual subscription for the paper. when in renewal my subscription I did't get any info for the extra charge distribution to an agent.
I have asked many times to the local TOI news paper agent, They hav't give any proper reason but still they want extra money for distribution. I had delayed two weeks for issue subscription @ INR 240, but the sane time they hav't issue my paper... At last i had given half yearly charge @INR 120, After that only am getting the papers.. This is worst Distribution, Per month Distribution cost INR 20, for the paper INR 25..
If This is so why are we not informed when Renewal happen. we could have avoid TOI will go some other news papers..

I have been a regular reader of English newspapers for the last 66 years since I was 6 years old. My late Dad was instrumental in getting me to read the popular English newspaper then i.e. The Indian Express in the fervent hope that I would improve my knowledge of English although my mother tongue is English being an Anglo-Indian. Nowadays all sorts of English newspapers are being produced and the himalayan blunders that they commit in their write ups will soon make a person forget the little English one knows. I have been reading the Times of India for the last 9 months and the number of mistakes that I have found is so disgusting and nauseating. For instance today there is a write up that states - "cremated body of infant resurfaces mysteriously". How can a cremated person resurface? Are you so ignorant that you don't understand the meaning of "cremation." The Oxford English Dictionary states that "cremation is to burn a corpse to ashes". How then can a cremated person resurface? In another item of news it states that "they conducted searches in the residences of their houses." What a laugh! Don't "residence" and "house" mean one and the same thing? You are strutting about and shouting and publishing that your paper is the "numero uno" among readership, perhaps among people who have very little or no knowledge of English. On top (2) you state "check text spelling before submitting" does it not apply to you? Are your proof readers so poor in English that they don't know what sort of himalayan blunders are being committed and being published? You are a laughing stock among people like me who are submerged in the English language and I am sure that there are 1000s of people like me. It is totally unforgivable for a paper of your standard, that too now "numero uno" (sic) to publish such sort of rubbish and nonsense. It is even more highly disgraceful to allow such blunders to be printed and published. Hope you will be more careful atleast in the future.

REQUEST REFUND OF RS.299/- GIVEN SO THAT I CAN AT LEAST MAKE MY OWN ARRANGEMENTS TO PURCHASE AND READ.
