We are regular subscribers to TOI Chennai edition from nearly its inception.
Earlier a group o[censored]s used to subscribe to The Hindu, but because we found it to be very politically slanted, we all discontinued with the Hindu paper and switched to TOI Chennai edition.
But of late, especially after Mr Arun.Ram has taken over, we find that the Monday editorial page is very much political. Prior to the Tamil Nadu assembly elections, every Monday he used to write very critically of the then State Government . But now after the state elections and another political party taking over, he has been very soft on this govt. This is in spite of the fact that there are strong criticism of the functioning of a few ministers in the present ruling pary, which have appeared in a lot of media, where these ministers have been severely criticised. But Mr Arun Ram’s page has not even a whisper of these goings on.
Please note that there are several o[censored]s, who will expect impartial behaviour in respect of National Newspapers. We expect that where criticism has to be issued, there should be criticism.

Kindly note that if this kind of attitude is going to prevail in your Chennai edition, you will lose a lot of readership of your TOI paper.

Myself Dr. Tirthankar Basu, resident of Dwarka & a subscriber of TOI under "Times Super Offer-24 months" vide Subscriber ID: [protected], Order Ref No-DNA 0046135 w.e.f-01.02.2021 (copy attached for your ready reference).

My submission is regarding one complaint note against Vendor Mr.Manish DV0979, who is creating mess on coupon collection, paper distribution & False claim of News Paper supply, charging extra money illegally in the name of "supplied News Paper", unacceptable gesture & denial to supply TOI news paper from tomoro (15/06/2021). Above incident happened during 13/06/2021 & 14/06/2021. Some instances are here under-

(i) Referring my earlier subscription of TOI under "Times Super Offer-12 months" vide Subscriber ID: [protected], Order Ref No-DFB0117078 w.e.f-01.08.209 which was terminated during July, 2020. During that period for complete 02 months he did not deliver News paper on the ground that on and often i use to be away from my residence. Such kind of his decision attract punishment under your code of conduct.

(ii) Very recent he demanded coupon of 9 months of my earlier subscription with a funny statement that " he did not collect" from me, which later he confessed receipt of said coupon of 9 months, which he demanded earlier.

(iii) Immediate after that he claimed for payment of News paper (TOI)for 06 months that as per his statement he delivered to my home during September 2020 to January, 2021(Gap period between end of my last subscription period i.e July 2020 to beginning of my recent subscription period i.e. February, 2021, which was NEVER DONE. Vendor Mr.Manish DV0979 showed one self made List of supplied TOI News Paper, which is neither authenticated nor as a proof of supply & my consent to supply, as a result i denied to pay his False Claim of payment. Please note that after the end of my earlier subscription in July, 2020, i categorically instructed him not to supply any News paper till further instruction from me.

(iv) Failing to get his said claim of False bill, He threatened me by saying " From tomorrow i will Not supply your News Paper. You better find some other Vendor". Such kind of act attracts strong Disciplinary action against Vendor Mr.Manish DV0979.

Please note that, Vendor Mr.Manish DV0979 is your designated Vendor for supplying TOI as per my ongoing subscription of TOI under "Times Super Offer-24 months" vide Subscriber ID: [protected], Order Ref No-DNA 0046135.

Above matter has been verbally briefed to your Dwarka Area Incharge Mr, Deepak Anand (M-[protected]) over telephone on 13/06/2021.

To me, above matter is quite serious. As per my subscription terms, barring me from daily news paper supply by the decision of a "Vendor" will be a serious offence & i hope your department will take appropriate action Immediately.

I have taken an annual subscription of TOI and ET . I am being harassed by my area newspaper fellow who stops the paper whenever he wants on the account of delivery charges. Where is it mentioned that the delivery charges will be extra at the time of subscription? I have not received paper from the last 4 days. Who will bear that paper loss? Kindly intervene and save us from this harsh attitude of the these people.

I wish to make an annual subscription to TOI.

I have been told that apart from paying annual subscription charges to TOI, I will have to pay Rs.20/- pm to the vendor for delivery of the news paper at
my ground floor residence.

The reason given is that the TOI gives almost negligible incentive to the agents/ vendors for supply of this paper.

This is quite unreasonable .

Please ask your city office to resolve this issue, so that the citizens are not left at the mercy of other people .

Please respond soon so that I can take an appropriate decision.

Not yet received any confirmation message about Cancellation and refund.
Pls look into the matter and settle the issue as early as possible.

I had renewed my subscription of TOI newspaper for 2 years in April 2021 by making payment online for the same (received acknowledgement for start of Newspaper from 25 April 2021. However, till date they haven't started any newspaper nor any communication about the same. Area Manager, CRM or customer care numbers are not reachable. Distributor is not sent any list for delivering newspaper at our end. Mails sent to grievance section are reverted to us stating to wait for few days. On Inquiry, it has come to my notice that they haven't renewed any newspapers since past 1 year even after collecting subscription money. Since there was no revert, i have requested for refund for my subscription with charges for damages. However, haven't received any reply for the same yet.

I started getting SMS about renewal of my TOI newspaper subscription in end April. When I contacted TOI, they said renewal was due in June. They collected the cheque from me on May 11th.
Since yesterday my subscription has been discontinued. I spoke to customer care last morning. They said I'll get paper from today. No paper today also. If you're not interested in renewing the subscription, kindly return my cheque, TOI. (SBI chq no. 670886) I am anyway able to catch up on news online. So why waste my time following up with your incompetent customer care team everyday? Kindly take action immediately.

My annual subscription was renewed online in April 2021 for 2 years. However inspite of several complaints made to the crm, and vendors haven't received any paper till date.
Now they are not even reverting for initiating refunds for the same.

Payment of Rs 799/- cleared by bank on 28th April 2021, vide chq[protected] drawn on HDFC bank. The vendor nor myself have received any intimation and I had to pay cash to the vendor. My Contact number is [protected]

I subscribed for TOI Chennai Edition for one year, in Nov 2020.
I got SMS confirmation stating that my subscription will commence from 01.12.2020 (valid till 30.11.2021). I have also done delivery address confirmation.

I made my newspaper agent deliver the paper from 01.12.2020 and he has been doing that. I have given him the subscription ID.

However, he tells me that he has difficulty getting his payment.

I took this up with Mr.Balaji (which name was given by my agent as the contact person in TOI, Chennai) on 1st June for a second time. On 3rd June 2021, he said he had informed his office and they would send.

I wonder why if a PDF version could not be emailed to me in 3 working days that have passed so far when the mailing of the receipt itself has been delayed by 7 months.

The article on the front page of TOI dated 7th June 2021 has a printing error.

The timings given in the article has a printing error of 8am which should be 8pm, the article pertains to the opening time of restaurants and bars in Haryana.

I am attaching a picture of the article below as a proof of the same.

An article in TOI reporting the opening of restaurants and bars in Haryana has a typing error of the timing these restaurants and bars are allowed to open till. The time duration is stated as 10am to 8am which doesn’t make sense and can be misleading for the reader.

It is really disgusting inspite of repeated phone calls he is not delivering the paper regularly in time and when I make a call that I have not received the paper he delivered two days paper on the second day

Myself yogesh gaikwad staying at nerul came to my niece wedding ceremony and going home on dated 06 June 2021 from mulund check naka depot, the bus range was after 40 mins . When I went to ask for bus is not available the driver batch no. 6430 was given unacceptable answer and told me that you guys never argue with the train and now go and talk to trains also. After waiting since 1 and half hour with my mother aged 65 years the bus came (512) . Only issue after a gap of 40 mins (only on sunday) the best bus should be closed on sunday,

Every year start from 1.4, TOI Circuation is stopped.
I get reminder message to remit renewal subscription in May and I pay immediately either through cheque if a person approaches me or through onine. After continyous follow up only, delivery is taking place say by 15th June.

Though I am paying the Annual Subscription, I am getting paper only from Mid June to Mar end.

This year also same thing is happening.
My question is
1)Should I loose almost two months papers ( Apr to June 15th)?? though I am paid for the year.
2) Why the person should not approach last week of march or reminder messge to be sent to my Phone instead of two months later.
CH[protected] is my customer ID. i Remitted on 26.5 but yet to get the paper circulated.

My annual subscription was renewed on 31.5.2021 through credit card payment. The paper has not been delivered to date. I made several calls to the customer care no. and there has been no response, except for saying that it is pending approval. When my payment has been received it is unethical to not deliver the newspaper

The local TOI representative Mr. Siva says he cannot help as I made payment through the online portal.

Hope the delivery of the newspaper starts immediately. If you have difficulty in processing the subscription renewal I request you to refund the amount at the earliest.

Since you started in Chennai, I have been a TOI reader, and this is the kind of treatment I receive.

Look forward to action at the earliest.
