Subject: Sales executive’s mistake caused us loss of money - Requesting senior official’s intervention
Problems faced
• No transparency in billing procedure.
• Policies of Tanishq not communicated at all.
• Lack of integrity of words. What was committed was not the end result.
• Horrible customer service.
• Managerial staff paid no attention to the issue
• Detailed bill was not given even upon request
I had purchased gold bangles and ear rings from Tanishq, Mukti world, Kolkata on 15th April 2017. The sales executive that attended to us is Mr. Abhijit Dutta.
We exchanged three gold items of non-Tanishq gold. And Mr.Abhijith Dutta had checked the purity as well.
1. Necklace – 20.28kt
2. Chain - Hallmark
3. Bangles - 21.81kt
On enquiring about the exchange policy Mr.Abhijith Dutta confirmed that the hallmark gold will get the exchange rate as per the date of purchase gold rate. No other Tanishq policy was mentioned to us.
Irrespective of the chain purity 8% of the gold weight was reduced on the total gold amount. This was not communicated to us. After melting the purity of the melted gold of 21.8kt was considered for hallmark chain. This resulted in money loss for us.
Mr.Abhijit Dutta had not given the exact numbers of the transaction upon repeated requests. The gold amount that we had exchanged was more than the bangles that we chose. This was held until the karigar closed the section and left the office. After this he had suggested that we buy some ornament to close the bill. He had rushed to finished transaction even when it was not the rush hour.
Mr.Abhijit Dutta had not let us do the calculation before the bill and took the pen away to finish his work. After this he made the bill.
After we did the maths of the amount by ourselves the numbers did not match to the amount that was committed to us. So we went back to Tanishq store, Mukti world, Kolkata on 21st April 2017.
We had asked for detailed bill and asked about the transaction details. Then we were redirected to floor manager Ms. Piyali Dey. She had implemented all these false strategies.

False strategy 1:
They had started out saying Mr.Abhijit Dutta is an experienced person and he can’t do a transaction in the way it was done to us.
Reality: On confrontation Mr.Abhijith Dutta had agreed that he did not mention the Tanishq exchange policies to us. He had agreed that it caused financial loss but he can’t do anything about it.
False strategy 2:
Since we were a new Tanishq constumer we were not aware of it. Otherwise the old Tanishq constumers will know.
Reality: Even upon repeated requests the transaction numbers were not given to us.
False strategy 3:
Upon the next purchase of the gold to the same amount of the gold that we bought they offered to reduce 20% of the making charges. They would write it down to us and said only next transaction they would do it.
False Strategy 4:
When we asked to exchange the item with another item Mr.Abhijith Dutta said that 4 staff members are looking for the original bill which is needed for us to make the exchange and they could not find it.
False strategy 5:
There was rush in the store and hence the policies were not explained. This was not true either.
The Store manager, Mr.Avijit Chatterjee paid almost no attention to issue and did not make any attempt to sort the issue.
1. Our request for exchanging the Tanishq ornament with the gold that we exchanged with was also denied.
2. Our request of exchanging the Tanishq ornament with a gold coin was also denied.
Mr.Abhijit Dutta apologised and said that it was his mistake and we should consider it and let it go. And upon next purchase at the same store he would give us a better price.
No effort from the store manager was made to resolve the issue. He sent a packet of sweets through his staff when we were leaving the store which we refused to take.
This breaks our trust in the brand of Tanishq and the Moral values that Tata Groups maintain. There is no accountability from the sales person and managerial staff.
We are totally disappointed with the Tanishq experience and shall not make any more purchases personally and shall not refer any friends to the group.

    I had purchased Titan Obaku. NB9415SL01 I want to change the watch strap.. but there is no stock available in Mumbai
    I nearly visited 5 world of Titan and more than 40 Titan authorized dealer... They are saying that company have stopped the manufacturing this product. How can I get rid of that either I want my strap changed or else I want 70% on my money back. The cost of the watch was 7800...

      I bought a titan edge brand watch worth approx rs. 14000 from titan world showroom, vijay cross road, navarngpura, ahmedabad. Within 6 months of purchase, i have given my watch for 3 times repairing and still it is not working properly. It is still running behind the time. I have complained to titan regarding this to showroom where they provide stereotype answers without any seriousness. After escalating to higher management, i got a response that they are saying that matter is under investigation.

      I doubt the product quality as it was offered with 40 % discount (It was costing me around 14 k rs after 40 % discount). I cant afford to go every month for repairing and dont like to waste my time in back and forth communication and fighting with titan for the solutiom

      I want my money back along with compensation for whatever issues i have faced

      I am still awaiting for solution and a moment when my case will be closed
      We are at MG road gurgaon store. My wife birthday is April 1 and she got SMS that she can get 10% off on purchase till April 15. However, store person Himanshu Chauhan is not able to help and asking us to solve it on our own. The person just sits in chair and has poor attitude.

        I purchased Xylys watch on 22/10/2016 from Kalyan Nagar Titan showroom
        Variant: NE9101SL01

        1.
        Next day of purchase it stopped working. I went to the showroom again and they told it is battery problem and got it replaced

        After using it for 3 months, it started running slow. i had to adjust the time again.

        Now belt got cut so badly that i cant use it

        Back cover of the watch is not fixed properly, i am worried to use it in watter

        After buying such a costly watch, i had to visit the showroom for repair multiple times, it is meaningless. Please let me know why so poor quality product is being sold and frustrate the user.

        Now Titan is ready to replace the strap. Who will address other issues?

        I Have Purchased Titan Karishma watch From flipkart Online on 29/03/2017.But Now on apr 7 the colour of the strap is fading.Te wrist watch has 2 years warranty.Please Check Over This issue.
        There is no update from the Titan company even after 11 days
        Worst watch and worst service :(

          I gave my watch (9440sm01) for service in kengeri upanagar titan store on 18/02/17 and they told approximate delivery on 22/02/17 but, still now I didn't get my watch back.. I'm seriously frustrated by calling the showroom ppl coz they keep on telling it will arrive in 2 days sir but it almost 2 months.           I have bought Titan watch 1632SBA last year. I have submitted it into the service center in bangaalore in Indranagar. After 21 days they are saying it cannot be rapaired and we have no parts and you cna take your watch back.

          What kind of solution is this??

            Last year we purchase one ladies Titan watch of Zoop model from Titan Naupada Thane show room, then with in one month of after warranty tare the watch belt .
            I given to Titan Company through Premier agency Viviana Mall Thane for replacing of new belt on payment condition .(18 Feb 2017)
            I received call from company, Ït's Not possible"and Today Mr. sanjay (Premier agency Viviana Mall ) told me yes This watch is Use & Throw in dustbin"

              I am an NRI I had placed an order for a frame and glass. My eye was tested at the store itself and I showed them my glasses that I am wearing. The power I have is pretty much and hence the frame I chose I asked them repetitively if the glass would fit the frame, to which they said said it would absolutely fit.

              On receiving the frame today I see the glass jutting out of frame. And the finishing is extremely bad. I paid 6000 INR for what. The salesman knows no manners. He is a tall fellow with glasses. He lies and is a cheat. There is another chubby salesman and a woman who did the eye testing. They are all cheats and thieves. I want my refund. This is highly unethical to promise something and deliver something else

                I have purchased a Titan Watch XYLYS model No. 9212 SDA, the strap of the watch is torn, so I wanted to change it.

                I searched for the strap in many Titan Showrooms in chennai, and to my utter dismay I came to know that the watch has to be given to any of the Titan Shwroom, s and in turn they will send the watch to Bangalore and then get the strap from there, which will take atleast 45 days.

                I am terribly disappointed that to get a strap I should have to wait for 45 days!!!
                A company of repute liek Titan, why not they make things simpler for the customers. My complaint may be taken up on priority basis, need ful done at the right time

                      I purchased HTSE watch from Noida sector 18 store on 31st Dec 2016. There was problem in the watch since the beginning so I submitted in back to the store. Since then all I am getting is fake promised from Store manager Mr. Neeraj. First I submitted the watch somewhere around 17th Jan 2017, they keep the watch for 1 day and returned to me saying it will work fine now. 2 days late I again submitted the watch complaining it is still not working. They again kept it and said it will be repaired in maximum 20 days. Then they call me after 25 days that you can take the watch it is repaired now. Half hour later after collecting it from them it was showing the same problem. I again submitted it on 17th Feb and still the watch is not with. The manager is not capable of delivering at least a commitement. Everytime a false commitment.

                      Last time they told me the wacth would be completely changed and delivered to me on 8th March 2017. Today is 14th March and still there is no response from them.

                      Request someone to please look into this.

                          Hello Titan, I have bought Obaku 3 years back and now struggling to get the strap changed in Pune. Can you explain the logic behind selling 6-7k watch and not manufacturing its strap? There are so many complaints for strap for these models and you IDIOTS are just copy pasting some idiotic auto reply. Is this a professionalism? If this is the kind of service Titan is providing then whats the difference between buying your **** watch and a road side watch?

                            I purchased a Titan wrist watch on May 2015. Its chain has been loosened. I referred watch to Varanasi showroom and they referred to a better place.I even showed it to Alambagh dealer and they referred it to Phoenix mall showroom whereby they referred me to Hazratganj.
                            This is really shameless on your part and adverse against the repute of TITAN as a result of which I am compelled to lodge a complaint in consumer forum.

                              This is to complain about the wrong information being shared by your sales team. Sales team from South Extension had made us invested for the Gold harvesting. i had invested 2 scheme (one for 3000 and another one for 2000). When they were in our office for display their scheme, I had mentioned about the passbook not needed since I do all net banking transaction. At no point in time they had mentioned about the passbook is necessary for the scheme.

                              My investment started on 22nd Jan 2016 and finally all money was transferred by net banking. in the month of October 2016, spoken to Jyoti at South Ex when she mentioned that the last installment will be on 22nd October post that no money required to be paid.

                              On 22nd Jan, spoke with her again about the refund process and I had informed her about the passbook not being with me but the online information about the payment already available. As per her passbook was not necessary and I could take money in cash from the show room of 2000 scheme but the other one will be transferred to my account since the amount is more than 25000.

                              I visited showroom with my cancelled cheque but then another gentlemen informed me that i will need to get the stamp paper affidavit about the lost of the passbook without that the money will not be given and informed me that Jyoti was wrong. Also can’t be given as per RBI guideline.

                              When I had requested document where it talks about affidavit but the document shows in case you are claiming the money without paying the complete due and without having the password. It was a very unforeseen situation since they kept argued with me finally agreed to pay since all my due were cleared. They agreed to refund my money since the entire due

                              Finally I gave the cancelled cheque and was informed about the money will be given only after 20 days since that is the process and the transaction happens from Chennai. Tentative date was given to me was some time post 15th February.

                              I have now received the money last week, which is the principle amount e.g 50000/- only. Did follow up with the showroom about the interest not being proceed, I was informed about the interest will be given as a voucher not money and the same will be posted to my address.

                              Just wonder why these things are not being informed at the time of taking the scheme, on the whole this gives me a feeling about the Tata Code of Conduct are not being followed and no time I was informed that the interest will be only in voucher, people do save money for their requirement in life had I known that only the principle money will come back without any interest, this amount could have been saved in the bank rather than Tanishq. Today is 28th February and the voucher is still not received.

                                I purchased a watch on 16 th Dec 2016.from The world of Titan store Kalyan.Thane district, Maharashtra, Mrp 7995, After Discount 7195. After few days I return the product and got credit note of it. Then on 26/2/2017 I bought a watch for gifting with that credit note and watch was 5800/- Mrp. So they deducted 5800/- from that Bill/Creditnote as they treat one n same.and wrote with pen Balance as 1400/- On Date 8/3/2017 I went with that watch to get credit note which was Gift packed n unopened. What they did is give another receipt stating 7195/- but giving clause with "Can not be used in Schemes/ offer". what's the point in this.i have actually bought a watch when it was having offer.then it was exchanged.it's really wrong to do such Cheat acts with customers.n top of that the person handling the matter was behaving in such a Bad manner, it never look like I m dealing with a Titan executive/shop owner.

                                    I purchased fasttrack watch around 2.5 years back for 1300 INR. watch's crown got broken and cell got over 2 months back from now. I gave to repair crown and new cell to WORLD OF TITAN address is WORLD OF TITAN, 7 & 8, 27th Main, HSR Layout, Sector-1, Bangalore - 102.
                                    they charged 410 INR and handed over me on 21st Feb 2017 with 6 months of warranty. Watch again stopped on 5th Mar 2017, when i went to store again they said watch needs service and for that they charge 300 INR. how come in 15 days it stop working and watch needs service! I strongly believe they have done something wrong with the watch. They are making business like this. They would have told me for service when i asked them for change crown and cell! giving 700+ INR for service is quite big amount i feel. They are bluffing i am sure. please let me know what can be done.

                                        I have my edge watch since 2 years. before 3 4 months suddenly the back of my watch came off and the screws of the back was not there. i gave the watch in one of the ahmedabad service center for the fitment of the screw. after i got my watch back just in 1 month it stopped working. again i had to give it to another service center, from where i came to know that the service center did not fix the back ring properly during the last fitment. so i had to give away my watch for a week to fix the ring and also the batteries for the watch was replaced during the same time which was chargeable though it was your service center mistake. now after another 2 months replacing the batteries and new fitment of back ring, my watch has again stopped working. what is the benefit of buying bloody 15000 rupees watch, i dont know what quality Titan has been using and what kind of service you are offering. Highly dissapointed with the product quality & service.

                                        Expecting a watch replacement after this hassle and mental harrasment. or otherwise i will surrender my watch at your service center which henceforth i dont wish to use and then i will go for consumer forum.
