I had purchased a Tommy Hilfiger watch worth of Rs 9000 a couple of years back from Malabar watches showroom, thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. I had maintained the watch pretty decently and was very happy with its design and performance. Recently it stopped working due to battery drain out. As I was staying in Kengeri, bangalore, Karnataka during that period I approached the World of Titan showroom on 27/03/15, Opposite 5 star chicken outlet, Kengeri satellite town, Bangalore, Karnataka. As they dint have the tool required to perform the repair they said they will send it out to some other service station and return it by 30/03/15(Service form attached). I was planning to return to my hometown on 1st of April and the date of delivery was comfortable for me.On the 30th of April the staff from the showroom called up informing me that the repair was not completed and they needed 2 more days. As I had to leave on 1st morning I told them I will collect the watch on 31st evening even if the repair was not done. On the 31st I went to collect my watch knowing the fact that the repair would not have been done. I was ok with it and was planning to get it repaired from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, my hometown.
To my surprise I found my watch returned in a very bad condition. Dial being displaced and the back panel full of scratches( Pictures included), Effort has been done to open the back panel using some old age tools I guess, There are multiple scratches which shows how carelessly the service was done. I noticed it and asked the staff there about the condition of the watch. He was repeating the same music, give us 2 more days. I said that is not possible as I was leaving the town and would not return anytime soon. As I was in a hurry due to an emergency I left the store without further talks with the staff. I was irritated to the core because of this and Titan being the holding company for Tommy Hilfiger in India I least expected such a rubbish service.
I took the watch to the same place from where I bought it to get it checked once I reached my hometown. They recommended me to lodge a complaint as the watch's condition was worse and just changing the battery might not restore the watch to a good working condition. I am extremely dissatisfied with the happenings and the watch seems not to be usable now. I wanted to use the watch for a couple of more years as the colour of the dial and the black metal strap was intact and was really happy with it. Now I am unable to use it further and the value I perceived from the product is lost.
I expect a very serious and fair response from the team. I have called the showroom staff in Kengeri and told him I am going to complain and he could'nt counter me with anything as he was aware of his mistake and utilised my busy schedule as an opportunity to hide their mistake. I am staying back in Thiruvananathapuram, Kerala for the next two months.
Please do the needful at the earliest.
