I am writing this utter frustration. On 21st June, my wife and kids have to catch train from railway station and at 6:00 pm, I booked uber. Driver called me up asked me my exact location and then destination. I waited for him for more than 10 min while the ETA was showing 2 min on uber app. So, I called him and found that he had switched of his phone. I kept trying. I realized this guy had ditched me, I canceled it and booked uber again. I called up the driver and told him the destination. He told me he wouldn't go there and asked me to cancel, and I cancelled. I booked uber again and called up the driver and got the same answer that he would't go there as there is heavy traffic. I asked him to cancel so that I can book another one. He didn't cancel. Since I was getting late, I took out my own car. It took me around 10 min to take my car out as it was in parking. When I had just stepped out of my society gate, the driver called me again and asked me where should he come. I think he was monitoring my location and thought I had taken another cab. Since I was just outside the gate, I asked him if he could come there. Then, he said no. since it is for Anand Vihar railway station, he wouldn't go. He was trying to play extra smart with him. I really felt bad about this. My family could have missed the train. And the funniest thing is, uber was deducting my money for each cancellation. I wondered why can't uber understand that why someone will keep cancelling his trip, and then, booking again for the same destination. I would have sought help from some uber representative at that time, while what I got in return was a charge for each cancellation. I am surprised at such behaviour o[censored]ber driver. If no driver goes to some destination, uber shall inform us while booking that due to congestion on the route, cabs won't go there. Uber app let me enter my destination and showed fare as well, but no driver turned up.
I know Uber refunds the money, but can they think of the mental agony and frustration that one goes through when one gets stranded for such reason. I could have missed my train. I drove fast and could have hit someone too. I know my behaviour on the road was not right but Uber inflicted this. I surely expect a better service from Uber.
Uber India customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
I have already paid my trip fare in cash and got the receipt on my mail too. The amount that was shown was 338 and the bill was also of 338 but on Sunday when I was trying to book can it is showing 329 pending and asking for pay the same.
