I am a customer of Vodafone. I recharged my friends phone [protected] using the vodafone website on 18 sept. I website took a lot of time to process the request and though the recharge of Rs 81 was done, the money was deducted twice from my account. It is mentioned on the site that in case the recharge is not done, money will be reimbursed in 5 days. When i called customer care, they said that since u didnt call within 3 days from the problem, we cant do anything and u shud go to hearest vodafone shop. I contacted the vodafone shop but the guy keeps postponing the thing and i have not got the money till now.

One more thing, i got a call a few days ago that the connection is not in my name and some other guys name though i submitted my driving licence as proof. Now they asked me to resubmit the proof.

Vodafone sucks big time. In 2 months of service i have encountered so many problems as compared to no such problems with Airtel which i used for 2 years.

I purchased the SIM card of the number [protected] around Arpil last year 2008. I had submitted a self attested photocopy of my Driving License as my identity proof and shown the retalier the original DL as well.

I have been using the service till today 03 October 2009 afternoon. I found the line temporarily disconnected. On calling, they said, they have found that I did not show my original identity document while purchase have disconnected the service as per Government Regulation. I have to take my original DL to a Vodafone Store to get the service restored.

    I ask :

Why could they not check my document at purchase?
How could they allow an unaothorised service - as claimed now - to run for more than 18 months?
If they have an issue after this long, why should they not come to me and collect the document?
Why would they not ask for the document instead od disconnecting the line?

Please could you take stern steps to reveal the unfair practise and force to shell out compensation for the harrassment?
I have purchased a vodafone prepaid SIM ([protected])on 10/10/09 and submitted the requaired documents to the retailer at the time of purchase.Initially my no. was activated but after 2 days suddenly it was disconected. When I called the customer care(111) they said they did not receive any document although the retailer is claming that he has sent all the documents to the company and he can't do anything else. Both company and retailer are pushing the ball each other's court and I am suffering without any fault. Could anybody tell me what should I do now?

I placed a request for DND in the middle of the month of July, 2009. I was told from Vodafone that it would take a ridiculous 45 days to action the request! Anyway, after that I waited patiently for 45 days, bombarded by numerous unwanted SMS's every day (some even came late night and early morning!).

After the stipulated time of 45 days was over, I found that there was absolutely no change in the number o[censored]nwanted SMS I receive everyday. The same senders continued to irritate me. It was as good as no DND request made at all.

I called up Vodafone customer care and was asked the details of the SMS received. As I delete these SMS the moment they come to me, I was not able to provide all the details at that time. Instead I told them that it is not one or two senders that I receive SMS from but rather there are more than 50 different ones. It ahd not changed at all after 45 days. So it would be better if they check if my DND is working correctly. Disappoing me they said that cannot be done and that I should call back with details.

The next time I received such an SMS, I called up the customer care immediately and provided the details. To my astonishment they said that it would take 21 days to process this particular complaint against this particular sender! I was dumbstruck. They explained that for each of the 50 or 60 odd senders I have to follow the same process and lodge complaints individually! And they would be individually dealt with within 21 days of lodging of the complaint! I didn't know what to say.

I am not familiar with this forum. But if there is anyone here who can do something about this, please help. My details are:

      Mobile Number: [protected]
      Area: Delhi NCR
      Example senders:

TM-BINDALS (message suggests shops present at Rajouri, CP, Kamala Nagar)

TM-MEHTA CO (message suggests OMAXE HILLS Apartments, Surajkund at [protected] and [protected])

I was using Vodafone postpaid connection (Number -[protected]) with STD charges Re. 1 for 1 minute. I used to pay 150 fixed charges for reducing STD charge From 1.50 to 1. Mid of August I got offer that we can reduce STD charges to 50 paisa (south India). I have called customer care on August 28th evening enquired about it. I got advice that I need to deactivate 1 Re. STD plan and activate 50 paisa south India STD plan and they sent me each message format. As they advised I have forward both SMS to their sever number (111) on 28th evening. I have called to customer care on 31st August and ensured about this activation, they told me next bill onwards my south India STD charge will be 50 paisa per minute.

But September month bill which is generated on October 1st charged Rs. 1.50 per minute for south India STD calls.

This is simple way real cheating or irresponsibility ……………..
        Hello Kuria,

I too accept with your complaint...same thing happen for me but it is for the month of november, they deactivated my Rs. 1/min plan and charged Rs. 1.5/min with out activating 50p/min even though i send the SMS for activation. When i called the customer care they are telling they didnt receive the SMS but received deactivation of existing offer...actually once we send for new offer activation, old offer will automatically deactivate because two offers of same STD cant be possible(this is what the customercare person told me when i enquired about this offer in Oct) now they are asking for confirmation SMS...who will keep SMS once we get confirmed and box is full.

This might be a chance for the mobile operators to cheat customers by getting extra bill amount for one month or until they get noticed of it by saying all these stories of not received, not reach server.

My suggestion to all is pl. keep your SMS or mails that you sent to mobile operators until your problem is resolved or plans are activated...this is bitter experience i faced

ON 02/10/09, I received a promotional message from Vodafone about their Rs.35 Bonus Card at 11 :40. I promptly recharged with one such Bonus Card for Rs.35 and received confirmatory messages at 11:53 that it has been successfully refilled by Rs.0.86. After a few phone calls, I realised that my Bonus Card priviledges had not been activated and I was being charged a lot higher than what I imagined. Even at 6 15 pm nothing had been done by Vodafone, afterwhich i contacted Customer Care executives, who after making me wait for approx 5 mins on the phone refused to take any action and said they were helpless to do anything in this regard.

It is ironical how Vodafone advertises it's Customer Care with the 'Happy to Help'' slogan when most of them are rude and are anything but happy to help! Is this how Vodafone has decided to cheat its customers with false confirmations and promotions?!

I had purchased two numbers of Vodafone mobile handset with free two SIM cards since 4 months last in my name. At the time of purchase, I had deposited all the documents such as xerox copy of Photo Identity Card and my photo. But since 5 days last, one of my number i.e., [protected] has been disconnected by the company for reasons not submitting the proper documents. When I asked the dealer where I had purchased the mobile(Mini Store, Opp. High Court, Chandini Chowk, Cuttack),he told me that your documents is missing and you produce the documents again. This mistake is occurred by the carelessness of the company. Kindly see the matter urgently and connect my aforesaid number immediately. This is for your information.

In above bill Vodafone charged Rs 2931.90 against GPRS and Rs 10 against SMS-International. I have NEVER use GPRS facility and also not sent any International-SMS. I made numerous requests on phone/e-mail/personal visit to Vodafone to delete these wrong charges from my bill amount, but they just keep repeating only one thing - bill is correct! I requsted Vodafone to furnish me details of allegedly surfed websites with timings, but they regretted for the same. My average monthly charge remains not more than Rs 150 to 200. I have made request to Nodal Officer of Vodafone, but no result. How can a customer pay for the things which are not availed? Vodafone is not giving any positive response.

                    Dear Sir / Madam,

This is regarding disconnecting of vodafone mobile number [protected] (Gujarat) on Sept. 23, 2009. Without any prior intimation, Vodafone disconnected the outgoing & incoming call services to this number. Approaching the Vodafone Customer Care, officials stated that the number has not been verified by them and hence the services to the number has been disconnected.

The fact was that some agency personnel, hired by Vodafone to carry out Verification activities in Gujarat, had approached us earlier and got our credential verified. Despite this, without any prior information or intimation, Vodafone disconnect services to the said number. Disconnection of services for couple of hours would mean severe loss to business since mobile phone is a major source of communication in this modern world.

I think Consumer Forums should take appropriate action against authorities to prevent such rude action actions from Cellular operators.

                          Hello,
The same happened to me just few minutes ago. I just got a message from Vodafone that MCI services has been activated on your number even i never spoken to any customer care executive regarding this service. Is it the new way they found to fool the customers. They deducted 30rs. from my balance and now i am gonna call their customer care and seriously going to shout on them...
The same has happened to me too... I did not even speak to anyone at vodafone regarding MCI. It just got activated and im being charged 30 Rs. Its just sad that they should resort to such devious means to cheat long term customers and increase chances of them shifting to another service.
The same thing happened to me also...I have never talked to the customer care to activate the service...Kindly do the needful
                          +1

On September 29th 2009, whenever i tried to make an outgoing call before getting connected to the network the advertisement runs for about a minute. I felt really really very irritating to hear that instead of hearing the ring tone.

when i try to make a call who gave permission to put advertisement there?
Have i asked them to play advertisements before reaching the number i dialed?

If this happens again then i am going to throw away my vodafone prepaid card and i am going to switch to someother service.

I hold a vodafone connection ([protected]) and have been suffering with poor network and call drops. This is on for past 8-10 months and have made several complaints with Vodafone but all in vain.

Vodafone promises "Happy to Help" but its all rubbish as no action has been taken against my complaint.Guess this needs to be changed to "unhappy to help".

This is one example of organisations being least consumer centric.

                                    Its time to move on!!!

                                    Vodafone — Unhappy to Help

I changed my mobile from postpaid to prepaid connection. I registered for the same on 6-Sep. The people at the stores assured the change to be done in 24 hours.

For 24 hours, i did not have any active sim with me. After it crossed 24 hours, i called 111 and they told it takes 48 hours. Frustrated, but still keeping calm, i waited for again 48 hours.

When it dint work out, i called 111, but the person there had nothing to tell but to tell me to call from Prepaid phone, i wonder why they cant internally connect. As my husband also has a postpaid and we dont own a landline number, i searched in net, luckily i got the number from which i had registered for the pre-paid connection.

When i scolded over, my phone got activated within 2 mins as he told (He told reason for not activating was their systems were down, come on they should send mail at least). If activation takes just 2 muns, why is it a process to follwo 24 hours or 48 hours.

Are vodafone people not trained properly of the general rules about how much time it takes for activation?
Or does it depend on situation like if phone does not get activated in 48 hrs, they will say it takes 72 hrs and so on.
Are the customer care IVRS that you have not connected between postpaid and pre-paid?
The call is also charged at 50p/min when u get in touch with customer care, that too half of the time is spent in their calling out our names, "Mr. X, i am very sorry for the inconvenience" they will say but are never sorry for the same.

Are you really happy to help?
I recently visited Vodafones Gallery at Sector -23, Seawoods, Maharashtra, regarding transfer of SIM from my moms name to my name.
I have to tell you, they were not at all interested into looking into my profile.
First they told me to collect all the documents and bring it to them and there is no problem in doing so, i also had specifically asked them if my number would change (they answered no), if my plan would change (they answered no).
After submitting all documents they simply said that previously told cannot happen because my number was from MNP(Mobile Number Portability), i simply could not believe it.
Why dont you'll just look closely into matter and provide customers with the correct information, i asked?
The executive there simply started smiling at me. It seemed as if he didn't care.
I should also be telling you'll whenever i visited the gallery, there always used to be a lot of arguments going on between irritated customers and helpless executives.
Vodafone needs to improve their executives behaviour and attitude towards customers.
Really vodafone's executives at this Gallery are " UNHAPPY TO HELP" and they just don't care about your problems.

On 18th September 2009 i had recharged online thru Vodafone website my wife Mrs. Geeta Anchan's Vodafone account (cell no [protected]) for Rs. 305/- I have received a confirmation mail from Vodafone (mail enclosed for reference) and my bank account was also debit for the same.

Even after two day when the phone account was not credited we tookup the matter with Vodafone and we were given to understand that no such recharge is available. Whereas it was available no the website of Vodafone as on that date without which it would have not allowed me recharge the account.

Even today i am struggling to get back my Rs. 305/- or the recharge account credit.

In my last verbal communication i had informed them that i will approach trai for the wrong pratice of Vodafone. I was given a feedback that i can approach anyone in this world. I feel such things should not be allowed in India.
