We purchased a Polo Comfortline in April 2012. We received a "fancy" manual along with the car, which was like a coffee table book. Book encased in a fancy leather pouch, Glossy pages, printed in Germany & Great to see and feel. However the manual contains details of "high tech" features - NONE OF WHICH ARE INSTALLED IN ANY OF THE INDIAN MODELS. IT IS A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME EVEN OPENING IT, as 90% of the gadgets featured in it are not even installed in the HIGHLINE MODEL. It is a Manual probably for issue to European customers, when they purchase their cars there. Even the Engine details do not conform to the ones manufactured in India.
I emailed the Dealer (Thane), who stated that they are not responsible for the Manual and asked me to contact the Pune HQs. An email to them elicited no response, other than to say that they would look into the matter, which no one did and there was no further correspondence from them.
I e-mailed their Germany office thinking they would at least take action. GUESS WHAT??? Other than a gentleman there forwarding my mail to the Pune HQ and asking me to contact them - NOTHING WAS DONE.
NO REPLY OR RESPONSE from anyone in the entire VW organisation.
Repeated mails again resulted in TOTAL SILENCE on this issue.
IT IS A SHAME THAT THE INDIAN V.W. MANUFACTURING ORGANISATION CANNOT PRODUCE A DECENT MANUAL FOR THE INDIAN MODELS. Probably everyone there thinks they are doing customers a favour by even issuing a Manual.
Seeing their recent newspaper AD (showing a man with his finger on his lips) is probably is a warning to their future customers ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE RESPONSE. TOTAL SILENCE or NO RESPONSE.
A "great" Company with a non existent Customer Service office.
SHAME VW India.

    Dear sir,

We have bought a high end POLO vehicle mp04 cl 2127 on 5th may 2013 from Sirani automobiles Pvt Ltd bhopal dealer of Volkswagen. My vehicle got accidented on 22 november 2013 and left front portion got damaged.when my vehicle get inspected on showroom for 3 days they asked me to come to showroom and with proper inspection they told me that it would cost 2.5 lakh to repair the vehicle and from this 1.1 lakh would be my consideration as rest of the amount would be paid by Insurance company.where i agreed and had also sighned the document of estimated cost. From next day procedure of further inpection was started that took 15 days approx.I was regularly in touch with Miss Sapna an Executive of Sirani automobiles Pvt Ltd dealer of volkswagen but she was stick to her point and never told me about any extra costing. She asked me that i can pick my vehicle within 25 to 30 days.in the mid i was regular in touch with her but there was no response from her side regarding the delivery of vehicle and not even from the showroom manager.then the showroom people misguided me and asked me for some more days and this goes on for 2.5 months. At last i was been asked by the insurance person Mr Sameer whose company Bajaj alianz has a tie up with the dealer to pick my vehicle from showroom on 2nd February 2014 and told my consideration of 1.13 lakh.after 10 minutes i again got a call and he asked me to pick my vehicle on 4th february 2014 and i agreed on that and when i reached the showroom to pick my vehicle they ask me to pay 1.7 lakh at the end. I talked to the manager and general manager of the showroom regarding this then they told me that the 3.86 was the total cost on vehicle. There was no intimation from their side about the escalation of the costing in vehicle. Now when i told them that i was not intimated about this and i am not ready to pay the extra amount they asked me for some time and now they asked me to go to the court or any where else.I talked to Mr sammer but there is the same answer from his side.I had bought this vehicle as volks wagen is a renouned germen company and i had heard about their services in metro cities. But the service i got from dealer of folkswagen is pathetic.i had already complained about this and there was no action been taken against dealer. Now i am bound to go to court against dealer, company and insurance as i was been mentally harrased by your dealer Sirani automobiles Pvt Ltd bhopal.

Kindly do something about this and take any action against the dealer and insurance company..

Respected Sir/MadamI am one of the customers of Volkswagen residing in India owning a Volkswagen beetle with registration no. GJ5 8515.Our company namely Sahiba Limited is one of the biggest textile houses of the country having more than 3000 employees on permanent basis. We own multiple cars of your group which makes us your premium customer(audi, skoda, volkswagen). We own well reputed luxury cars like range rover too. We have around 100+ cars registered under the name of our company for our executives. The car Beetle was given for minor accidental repairs to one of your dealerships in Surat M/S Volkswagen Surat (Navjivan Motors) on 6th September 2013. After much delay and wait we were given a quotation for repair on 2nd October 2013 amounting Rs. 1, 67, 161 for which they sought approval from us. The approval for the same was given from our end on 3rd October 2013. We were given a commitment that the car would be delivered well before 31st October. The car was not ready and not delivered on the committed date of 31st October. After much mental harrassment and trouble and continuous follow ups we were given an invoice of the car on 13th January amounting to Rs.2, 71, 678 . The deviation of the amount was approximately Rs. 1, 00, 000. Also to inform you no prior approvals were sought in this regard. The dealership M/S Volkswagen accepted their mistake in writing via a mail on 18th January 2014.Also we received a mail on 23rd January to take the delivery of the car in spite of the fact that the car was not complete with the repair work. The same fact was mentioned by your dealer in the invoice raised on 13th January. Also to bring to your notice, the fact that the car is incomplete was accepted by your representative in a meeting conducted with us on 29th January. During the meeting your representative informed that some spare part(Left side wheel bearing) is still not replaced and would be replaced in a day. Also I would like to bring to your knowledge that your dealership demanded garage charges of Rs 1000 per day from 15th january till the date we take the delivery of the car. As per the terms and conditions mentioned in the approved repair estimate given to us on 2nd October 2013 such garage charges amounted to only Rs. 250 per day. I really do not get the point of such mental harrassment.During the meeting conducted on 29th January 2014 your representative offered us a waiver of Rs 45000. Subsequently we received a mail from Volkswagen Mumbai that the waiver amount is Rs 25000. Such attitude and behaviour clearly indicated that your dealership is misguiding and providing wrong information to other employees of Volkswagen. We were being mentally and financially harassed due to all this and became the ultimate sufferers. We can provide you with the clipping of the meeting conducted on 29th January to clarify all your doubts. Also we did not seek any waiver or charity. The whole point of bringing this matter to Volkswagen Mumbai's knowledge was that we expected them to give a justified result and not a result under the dealer's pressure. We again received a mail on 1st february to take the delivery of the car within 7 days by making payment of the unapproved amount. Also we were now informed that the garage charges would be 500 per day if we fail to collect the car in the mentioned time period. Again a deviation in the amount of the garage charges clearly implies that the motive is to mentally harass us.We would also like to inform you that the car is registered, owned and used by a senior citizen and did inform the same to your dealer and all the other parties involved in the matter. The senior citizen is facing mental and physical problems due to the inconvenience caused to him from the past 5 months. The attitude and approach of your dealer and customer care dept(mumbai) clearly indicates how insensitive they are towards the senior citizens of the country. We have lost all our faith in the trusted brand name of VOLKSWAGEN.Kuldeep Singh Saluja (Arora)Chief Managing DirectorSahiba Ltd.

I was driving towards Barely(UP) two days back, my car got heated and I stopped the car and wait for 10 mins, again I started the car but it did not start, then I called RSA number of Volkswagen, they toed the car to Barely Volkswagen workshop, Now they are saying my car engine got seized, I purchased the car on 30th Oct 2013 from showroom( Frontier Autoworld Pvt. Ltd. G-1, Vatika City Point, M.G. Road, Gurgaon - 122001 New Delhi & NCR) and it run only 1000 kms, My serious concern here is why only in 2 months of Car purchase, it got heated and wonder how early engine got seized only in 2 months and in 1000 kms run. I want the engine to be replaced and new engine should be placed as the car is in warranty period. I suppose there was some manufacturing fault in the Car at the time of delivery itself. I am not getting any positive response on this from Volkswagen till now. I wonder with the brand name of Volkswagen, I am not getting any response even on mail. Abhishek [protected]

I had complaint many a times but still the problem is not solved.Every time they call from vw and ask me about the problems and i told them everything that my problem is the product. The main problem which i faced is that i changed my abs sensors one after the other. That too my car has run only 30, 000 km, in the second service my bill came almost around 25-30, 000 and even now the abs problem is there and the worst part is last week when i went to fill petrol the petrol gage of my car was not responding and after that wen i was driving a few km the speedometer was also not working it was fluctuating. Two three days back i was driving my car in an highway i almost met with an accident, that is wen i had to give a sudden break, the break got jammed and it was not working and i released it and pushed it again i some how stopped and after that for sometime it was fine but again two three times it happened so after that i am not using the vehicle i am so sick and tiered of this company and their product.

I bought VW Touareg (luxury SUV) in March 2010 in Gurgaon. I drive around 10-15Kms/day to office and back and have driven only around 28K Kms in less than 4 years. Recently, the engine had started to make background humming noise and some missing, therefore, I took the card to Frontier Auto Service Center, Gurgaon (authorised service center). They checked and said that this is nothing serious and some winter morning problems. I got the car back and next morning when drove for about 100 meters from my home, the warning lights started flashing with the Warning message "Engine Fault". I got the car back home and next morning when decided to take it to the service center, the car would not move and started emitting thick black smoke. I had to get it towed to the service center. The technician said that it would cost Rs.3500 to check which I had no option but to agree to. He said it will take several hours and called me back in the evening that the engine is overheating and there are several parts that need replacement. The total repair cost quoted was in excess of Rs.1lakh. I was aghast - how could a Premium SUV that had hardly driven 6-7K Kms/year have engine overheating?? They told me that the Valve, Cooler, Flap and some 20 other parts needed replacement. Given that the parts would take 5-7 days, I had to leave the car. I called their Customer Care Center and they gave me a complaint number CAL41345 on Jan 18, 2014. No one called me back for few days; then I called the people mentioned in the complaint - turns out they had referred me back to the same Gurgaon service center who told me that I had no other recourse but to pay for the repairs. They even told me that this is nothing new - several other Touaregs and other VW cars had similar or worse problems!! Given that I had no other options, I have decided to flood the social media with my grievance hoping some VW Corporate official will respond to my grievance. The questions are - 1) How can an engine overheat at such low usage? How can a Valve and Cooler burn out? that too for a Premium Luxury SUV costing Rs.55lakhs? 3)Why should I pay for these repairs when these are manufacturing defects? I hope people reading this are sufficiently warned and don't buy any VW cars. I am infact buying 2 more cars and guess what, they are not VW? Waiting to hear back from VW!

I mrs vijay kumar had given my vento car dl3cbw0105 model 1.6 diesel highline for insurance claim on 3/12/2013 to mr amit in volkswagen north delhi showroom g lobus pvt ltd 34, ssi industrial area gt karnal road. On delivery of the car on 24/12/2013 i had not received any of the original rc, licence and insurance documents. On enquiry they were very rude and took a very casual approach on this matter. It has been a week since the complaint and we have not received any response from them ..As these are original and very important documents so please fast track the process. On asking again mr. Amit the concerned bodyshop person he is saying that you have deposited the photostat documents to us. It is highly irresponsible on your part that instead of rectifying the mistake they are accusing us of deposting photostat documents... This is a very scary situation as my all original documents r missing. Can u settle an insurance claim without the original documents?????. This is very very horrible experience pls look into yhe matter urgently

I had given my Vento (Comfortline Petrol) car for 1 year servicing on 14th Nov 2013 and they returned it back with one of the door protectors damaged due to which there is a bad sound whenever I open the left back door. The service contact Mr. Rahul has been very irresponsible in addressing my concern and it has been more than a month now, there has been no communication on how they would rectify the problem. Initially they were reluctant in addressing the problem but after putting all facts in front of them, they agreed. However, only words and nothing was done towards rectification. Today (19th Dec 2013) post my email to them, he calls up and says that I have no choice but to wait indefinitely for a resolution. They themselves dont seem to know when they would resolve the issue. There was no courtesy even to call up and inform till I wrote an email and now Mr. Rahul mentions he still doesnt have a timeframe when he can resolve the issue created by them. I am at loss how and when will they rectify the problem created by them, if at all they intend to do!

I had purchased Volkswagen POLO Treadline from Swami Automobiles Phase 1 Chandigarh on 28th of November. Before purchasing of car I inquired for the 0% finance that I came to know from some of my colleagues. I was told that the zero % finance scheme is not there and now they do not give 0% finance on any of the cars on intervention of RBI. On December 13, 2013 Swami Automobiles gives an advertisement of 0 % finance to its customers. Why were we not given this scheme when we went to purchase our car from the same dealer, I am feeling cheated, they purposely kept this scheme hidden from us. It’s only few days now. I request Volkswagen to directly intervene so that I could get this scheme.

I have purchased Volkswagan vento in Jun 2011. I have completed warranty of it in year jun2013. At the completion of 21000 Km. My car started vibrating with heater coil indication on it.As I was out of town shown to nearby garrage. So he cleared the indication with the help of scanner. After which running aroung 15 Km it started with the same again. My Second service was due 28nov 2013, even not completing 30 K (as per due KM for second servicing.)
Now when i have visited service centre they have recommended to replace fuel system itselt which costs around 2.5 Lakhs. They mentioned after fighting with VW in good will VW will replace the fule system completely. But I have to bare the cost of labour of 10 K to get it replace.
So suggest why should i bare the cost if there is not my problem in handling the car.

Complaint no SLF38326 KL58 E 8859 This is regarding a complaint registered on 4/11/13 w.r.t my car engine. During the initial check dealer has confirmed that engine cylinder there is a problem and asked us to pay 1Lakh Rs. Since the car has run only 10k Km and just completed 2 yrs it was told by dealer that they will replace it on company cost through goodwill. My car is stationed at workshop since from 4/11/13 and as of today 1 month is over without repair. We are writing this mail out of frustration and there is no hope in your voice customer care people. There is 2 things need you attention 1) Why engine got deteriorated within 2 years. Is it not big flop in quality? We would need to take up this issue globally.. 2) Is that the standard of Volkswagen to keep the car in a service centre more than 1 month? Pls explain what is the meaning of customer sanctification as per Volkswagen. We are fed up with your service now and left out with only this option. Either you take back that defective car or give us the car back ASAP. Pls don't force us to go to court for this issue. FYI we will wait for another 3 days if further no response we will be seriously taking up the issue in different way. Attached is the job card for your ref.

Hi I am Volkswagen Customer having Polo Trendline 2011 Model. I have given my vehicle for servicing and rear axle replacement at Volkswagen Deccan Workshop, Ramanthapur, Hyderabad. After initial inspection by the technicians they estimated the cost of rear axle beam about 30000 and said they have put an indent as the part was not readily available. When I went back to collect my vehicle, the cost of rear axle showed 69500 and the total cost of replacement was bill around 92000 out of which 62000 was insurance claim reimbursement. All miscellaneous nuts, bolts, VAT, labor & service totaled to 40000. When I inquired about the cost rear axle beam (VIN Specific) at a Karnataka Showroom they said it to be 12000, at Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh to be 30000, in Vizag of Andhra Pradesh to be 25000 and in Pune to be 60000. How can the same part of Volkswagen Vehicle of the same make and year which is said to VIN specific cost differently at different places in India. Is it not fleecing customers money during after sales services. I have called up Volkswagen toll free number 3 times, where they say they will look in the matter and resolve. It has been almost 10 days, my vehicle is still lying in the workshop. Volkswagen, Plz respond.

I, Leena Kajal, am a owner of a Volkswagen Vento, which I had bought in 2011 and its registration number is: HR20W3075. My car has been at the Volkswagen Hisar ever since 2nd December 2013 because there was some problem in the car because it was not getting started. And till now the agency has not been able to figure out the cause for it. Also, I have been facing this problem with the car in getting started ever since I have bought it. I also mentioned it every time at the agency while I took it for servicing or routine check ups but it was always ignored saying that it may be happening because of the weather conditions or the poor quality of oil. But now I strongly believe that it is not because of any of those reasons, and it is rather a technical fault that has been there from the time I purchased. And now my car has been with the agency for 5 days and yet they have not been able to come out with a solution. For a multinational company like yours, these is a case of sheer negligence and it is not appreciated. Volkswagen has a strong market reputation internationally and thus I expect you to look into the matte with due urgency and diligence. Kindly figure out a possible solution for the car so that I can have it back at the earliest since my routine is getting disturbed without it. I have also e-mailed the company but there hasnt been response. Please look into it else we shall go to the consumer court. Since the responsibility for it lies with the company, I hope you shall take immediate measures. Best, Leena Kajal e-mail: [protected]@yahoo.co.in

This is to intimate that, the service performance in Visakhapatnam Show Room (AP) is not up to the mark. Plz find the below details for your reference; 1. My vehicle was given for general service on last month (Sept 2013), they informed me that the lower body of the car(ie, coolant & radiant cover) was replaced with new one, but it was found that its not new with charging me the replacement cost. 2. Battery was replaced in the month of may 2013, but it was dead in the month of Oct 2013. With great pressure the batery was replaced on the last minute since the vehicle is to be transferred to Pune. Looking forward for your better service with genuine team at Visakhapatnam. For further feedback contact me : [protected], [protected]

The car was therefore lying idle, waiting for the fault to be corrected. Surprisingly, no replacement / service car was offered either. Once the fault was attended to, it has been barely two months and the ABS sensor is once again malfunctioning . It is alarming to note that a high value luxury car having multiple / repetitive premature failures or malfunctioning and is not acceptable. Fortunately, the car is under the Warranty Period. However, the nuisance value and the time lost in resolving these issues is frustrating and has lead to a loss of confidence in Volkswagen. I would also insist on an extension of the extended warranty post resolving these premature failures, for which we have paid Rs. 13350/- at the time of purchase. We had sent the vehicle today to Tornado Motors, Mumbai for the issues to be addressed, but the earliest appointment communicated to us is DEC 5, 2013. Despite our requests to attend to our vehicle on priority we are disappointed that after buying a premium VW product, VW/ their dealers are meting out shoddy treatment, with no urgency to attend to our complaints on priority.
