Hi,

I n my friend had purchased 2 pair of chappals on 29-Sep-09, of which 1 was given for repair on 10-Oct-09 as the leather and soel was coming out. Woodland got it done but again the leather started coming out the second time. The other chappal totally came out. The representative at the Woodland Store, Thane said that the chappal will be replaced and the other one which had worn out the second time will be repaired. At that point of time we were told since the warranty period is of six months, both will be repaired/replaced at woodland's cost. Now they say, Woodland will bear only 70% of the cost and the rest will have to be beared by us.
When Woodland says warranty period of 6 months, then why the hell do they charge from their customers?????? If this is the case let them not give any sort of warranty to their customers.
Woodland is just a name, the quality of the product is deteriorated.

Is there anybody who can tell me what is to be done in this case.

its just a name woodland byt product quality is not good..i purchased a woodland footwear on 21 feb 11 n now its only one n half mounth gone and my right footwear of pair is damaged same model was purchased by my father and same case is happened with there woodland footwears also..shame on you woodland ..you are not judging product according to there price-tag ..

    I bought a woodland shoe,
    With in a month I found discomfort in the shoe. I thought may be the shoes are new that could be the reason behind. I continue wearing but after a while I feel that there is a problem in the shoes. I went to showroom and explained the problem.
    They kept the shoe for a month long, and returned back to me, said the shoes are perfect now.
    After a weak I was going to Singapore. I wore the same shoe there. It creates so problem there. I had to buy another shoe for emergency.
    Thankgod this time it was not woodland.
    I came back to india and submitted the shoe again to the showroom.
    Now they are saying we cant do anything thing, the shoes warranty is over.
    I told them it was with you for months. You are not counting them.
    Say no to woodland. They became worst now.
    They no more sell the quality product.

    Hi All,

    Please be aware about the quality of woodlands produts are bad, check properly before you, I purchased 1 pair of shoes and 1 pari of sandles, shoes soes came out within 1 hour o[censored]se. Though the shop keeper took it for repair, today when I visiting to take back my shoes, it was repaired in a bad state. I have rejeted it and asked for money back. I have already spent around Rs300 towards transport to the shop, it feel this brand is not worth the effort. Do look for some other brand. I am sensing the woodlands just buys shoes from some local guys and adds its logo on the shoes.

    Dear Sir,

    I bought a pair of shoe on 21st July 2009 worth Rs. 2965, from Woodland Store E-11 South Ex. Part II, New Delhi. and after using 3 - 4 times its upper layer started cuming out from outside , inside and edges of the shoes and also the sole of left shoe also got unfixed from front.

    As I do not earn much so I thought I should buy shoes of good brand so that I do not need to buy again and again, that is why I took decision of buying shoes of woodland in which we had good faith from years but after having the such bad experience from such brand with so much big repute I and my father comlained many times through e mail to the concerned persons but never got any replies from anyone of them.

    Its too disappointing for us, affected our faith badly.
    It may not be the big issue for the officials of the brand but it is certainly for us, because we have invested our hard earn money just because of its loyal repute and their assurence of good quality to the customer.

    I bought a woodland sandal, With in a day stitching bookend, i went woodland Bangalore marathahalli showroom.. they saying we can repair but it will take tow week time ...!!! ...sandal i threw it on the ground and i say goodbye woodland ...one day ????? don't buy wood and...

    I am a regular user of your brand(Woodland) for several years which your people at madurai know this and i have bought nearly 4 pairs of schoes and scandals before starting in madurai i use to bought it from chennai and banglore. Normally i do not have and complaints, but a year back i bought a schoe in black color, from the month of purchase the stiched thread came out from the connection between the bottom and upper soul, schoe was seprated and not able to use, again and again your people stiched the same and now the bottem was teared and they want me to agree i refused(I am also running a jewellery shop in madurai it is a hundred years old). More the 75% of the days Schoe was with your people rather i havent used to it.Even now it is with your people pls take necessary action on it and solve my problem immedietly.

    Dear Sir/Madam,

    I, Abhishek Agarwal, am working for an MNC. I am regular customer and, in many sense, praiser of Woodland products and services. I had been fond of purchasing Tees, shoes, belts, etc from Woodland franchise, near to my home, until March 3rd, 2012. This Wooland outlet is at Kapurbaudi, near Big Bazaar, Thane (W) - 460001, India. .

    For the services and obviously brand itself, I bought a formal shoe pair - costed me around Rs. 1, 550 - in December, last year. It came with a warranty of 1 year. Hence, the problem with the shoes started coming into the scene. Till now, I got my shoes repaired twice. The problems were with the stiches, and pasting at sole. For the first time, it took 4-5 days to get the shoes done.
    Recently, the second time, Feb 26th, the attendant of the shop told me to get it done within 3-4 days and I will be informed on the phone. He reduced to writing; my phone number, name, etc. I gave it on Sunday and expected it on Wednesday.

    For these many days, I was on sport shoes. Coincidentally, an event was to be conducted on Thurusday in the Organization. I called the store and told them the urgency of situation. Although, repairing was behind schedule they shamelessly told me that it would take some more days. To my surprise, I didn't imagine what to do for the event. Atlast, I borrowed a pair of shoe from my friend for one day. On Mar 3rd, I went to showroom and asked for my shoe. It was ready and the attendant bagged it and returned to me. I enquired, why the person didn't call me up when it was ready and you were to do so. He gave me the reason that I don't have your number. Later, I made them see, apparantly, my mobile number is there in the entry register. Then, they provided me with reason that might be you came early in the morning and we didn't have enough deatils of yours. I raised a query then, you have my name and number whatelse you required. While leaving the store I acknowledged them I am to, surely, write mail to Senior concern. I was taken aback when they brazenly said "OK". I didn't involve in any brawl with them and I headed to the exit of the store.

    I, even, writing this mail and thinking of how an attender responsible for affecting the image of the brand. Why doesn't he undersand that it's not him but ultimately the brand and its image. How can one be so irresponsible with customers. May be it is just about the store and its associates but is it worth letting the people down and somehow and whatever little hurting the brand image.

    I would appreciate your consideration if you could extend to the store and remind them properly which Organization they are working for.

      Manufacturing defect and insufficient warranty

      I had purchased Woodland Shoes in August 2009, from Ms Aero Club, Laxmi Road Pune, Invoice no 3854.
      As soon as I started using, I started feeling some pain in my left foot.
      After 5-6 months, the left shoe is torn with the treads coming out below the heel. The dealer says warranty is for 3 months only. No replacement or repair can be done
      The shoes have become uncomfortable and useless....

      I had purchased woodland sandals from T & A, Panaji, Goa, which were defected and the both the soles broke after wearing them for just one time, which can be verified by looking at the sandals. I had purchased this sandals when the shop was giving discount. I feel the sandals tore off because it was very old stock being sold by the shop, i would like to know if shops are allowed to sell old defected goods, even though they know that the goods are defected. I would like a refund of the amount paid or atleast a repair of the sandals.

      I too had a similar situation where the sole of my shoes just tore off. When asked the the Panjim Woodland shop they said it was because I had not used them regularly..

        On January 10th I purchased a black formal office shoe from Woodland's Bangalore outlet (100ft road Indiranagar). To my surprise, the sole of the shoe started chipping off in 2 days of wearing it. The shop asked me to deposit the shoe and told me that their Delhi/Gurgaon office will take a decision but they also assured that a likey case of 100% waiver on this product was possible.

        As expected, after 10 days they said I pick a new pair of shoes else purchase anything else from the store for that particular amount.

        My issue here is: I came to the store with intention of purchasing specific black formal shoes. If their product itself if defective and I dont want that product again and I have no wish to purchase anything else, HOW CAN A COMPANY FORCE ME IN PURCHASING A PRODUCT FROM THEIR SHOP? I have written to them and asked them for a money re-fund, which they refuse. What is my consumer right if the product from the company itself has defaulted. Am I entitled to 100% re-fund?

          I have purchased a pair of shoes from Woodland Shoes franchaisee M/s. AERO CLUB Woodland Store Residency Road opposite Premier Hotel Jammu on 3rd of February 2010 vide their bill No.7280 for Rs.2, 495.00. The model No. of the item is GC 0576108 Camel size 41. Yesterday while removing the shoe from my right foot, I saw that the sole has started loosing the adhesive while as the Left foot is quite O K. I went to the retailer and he said that goods sold once can be repaired and not replaced even if it fails withing few days due to manufacturing defects.

          Paying almost 300% extra price we look forward to the company with quite a lot of expectations regarding customer service. Hope your forum will help innocent customers from treatments like this in future.

            I HAVE BEEN WEARING WOODLAND SHOES. WHEN I WAS IN SCHOOL.
            I DIDNT FACED AY PROBLEM.
            BUT THIS TIME, THEY REALLY ANNOYED ME ALOT.
            I BOUGHT A PAIR OF SHOE FROM GRETER KAILASH SHOWROOM.
            IT WAS THEIR NEW EDDITION AT THAT TIME.
            I WORE THE SHOE AND UNABLE TO WALK PROPERLY.
            THE SHOE WERE VERY HEAVY.
            ONE CANT WALK FOR LONG AFTER WEARING THIS SHOE.
            I WENT BACK TO THEIR SHOWROOM WITHIN 3 MONTHS AND EXPLAINED MY PROBLEM.
            THEY RETURNED BACK AFTER A MONTH.
            I WAS GOING TO SINGAPORE, I TOOK THAT SHOE OVER THERE. THAT WAS A BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE.
            MY WHOLE TRIP BECAME WORST JUST BECAUSE OF THAT SHOES.
            THERE I BOUGHT A NEW SHOE AND CONTINUED....
            NOW AGAIN I SUBMIITED MY SHOE TO SAME BRANCH.
            ITS BEEN A MONTH AGAIN THE SHOES IS WITH THEM.

              Sir,

              I have purchased one pair Woodland shoe from your cherooty road, Calicut show room wide Bill no.6658, dt.10-02-09 GC-0401107 GRN-43 for Rs.1885/-, & complaint slip no.71, dt.[protected], within one year the left shoe's stitch has gone due to sole complaint, when I approached the above showroom the sales man said that they will charge Rs.450/- (approx.) for replacing charges of both the sole. But sir it is truely a manufacturing defect. So please go through the matter and kind enough to wave the charges.

                I had purchased the wood land shoes frm allahabad, atlantis mall, after 1.5 yrs the sole begain to crack, and as I promised by the sales person of the company outlet, i went there and purchased the shoes and they again told me sir u are already wearing an woodland u know we give garuntee on switching and sole, since my shoe sole was cracking i asked them to do the needful, they gave me the slip and happily said sir, when the shoes is repaired they will let me know , how ever it will take about 2 weeks, and i waited for one month and haven,t got any reply frm the store,
                when i went to store the store persons stared to screem at me, sir, we had called u up and ur phone was swicthed off and sir, we never gave the comitment abput the sole you'll have to pay price for the sole , I agreed to this also but the again waiting after one month without any reply went to the outlet and they again started yelling, that shoe cannot be repaired and they called me and my phone was off.
                Even the store manager was not trained enough to deal with the staff and to the customers, the staff were not in his control, sales staff were screeming like anything....

                i don't know what type of customer service u provide and what of persons u have ..... totally frustrated and promised my self never to purchase the woodland shoes agaon in my life.... and also pray to the readers and member reading this to purchase the woodland shoes,

                  i had purchased a Wooodland winter T Shirt vide Bill No. 5669 dated: 07.01.2010. at Aero club, GVSR plaza main road warangal (AP). the color was just faded out for just one wash. it has been not replaced till now.

                  WOODLAND — color fade

                  i bought a jacket of rs. 3300 approx. and it was told to me that it is ezee wash / Machine wash but when i washed it its color got faded and it looks very bad. kindly suggest me what to do

                  I have purchased a pair of shoes from Woodland Shoes franchaisee BATA SHOP, THODUPUZHA , KERALA on 25TH Oct 2011 vide their bill No.2406 for Rs.2, 495.00. The model No. of the item is 23777 size 44. Yesterday (2 january 2012) while removing the shoe from my left leg, the stiching on the upper broke and came loose. I returned the item to the supplier for replacement and he refused to do so stating that once sold items can only be repaired even if it fails withing few days due to manufacturing defects.

                    Dear Sir,
                    I had very bad experience from my last purchase. I bought a pair of shoes from Woodland showroom at Andheri (W) Mumbai.
                    After usage of this pair within 12 months time sole broken in two parts of bottom. After visiting the showroom, they didn't respond. Though they admitted that this is manufacturing fault till then no responsibility was taken and I am asked to pay, if you get the Sole pair in a month’s time.

                    I used to appreciate WOODLAND brand a lot and after this experience, it could be difficult to come back to store again. I am expecting positive response at least for the manufacturing defects.
                    I hope that you will help me regarding the matter.

                      Dear sir,
                      I have purchased a pair of shoes from Woodland Shoesshowroom, Trivandrum on June 2008 for Rs.2, 700.00. The model No. of the item is GC 0112105 Green. The buckle got damaged and went for the repair in the showroom were they promised alll the service in case of damage. But it was a bitter experience from them. Is this the way the company's after sale services? I'm sure about one thing that i will never get a positive response from the showroom so thought of complainting it in the site. So i kindly request you to send me the buckles. I'm expecting a immidiate response from you sir.

                      Hi All,

                      i had purchased the Same model GC:0112105 shoes in Dec 2008 in company outlet in Bangalore, in the month Aug 2009, one of the Buckle Got Damaged i gave to the Shop keeper, he told wil return in a week but they took 1 month to return, again in Dec 2009 had problem with the Same Buckle given to the same Shop keeper, this time he returned in 15 days, again yesterday (i.e. 6-mar-2010) the same Buckle broken, today (7-mar-2010) i given to the same shop keeper, when i was giving this shoe for repair, he was abusing me when i questioned about the product he was telling that he is working for the company not for me. "is this the way to behave with customer?" and also when i asked about delivery Date he said that he is also dont know the delivery date and he would give a call then i can collect.

                        I have purchased a Woodland G 4092 model Shoe on 02/01/2010 from AERO CLUB,WOODLAND STORE, 11/191/1,OFF G.B ROAD,PALAKKAD-1 for Rs 2495 /-.
                        Bill # 4331.
                        After 5 days o[censored]sing I have found cracks and damage on its right shoe's front and left side's rear end.I feel very bad in this. Because we people were trusted woodland company for long years. We didnt expect such a cheat from WOODLAND.
                        For comfort and reliability we are paying very high amount for WOODLAND products.

                        But now it is very shame for the Company. How long they can exist by cheating customers? We feel pity.

                        In my case I am doubting that, the company is cheating its valuable customers by selling this kind of very qualityless / low quality products.

                        It is very sad that I could not use the shoe not more than 5 days.

                        This should be Justified by WOODLAND company...

                          I had purchased woodland shoe from company showroom situated in spencer plaza, chennai during my visit to Andaman island in the month of september, 2007. After wearing dozen times stitching was coming out due to broken rubber rib around the shoe.

                          Pl. arrange to replace sole as I had searched all the places around my city but I could not found any sole.

                          Woodland is a esteemed company with proven track record but after sales service it comes second to other competitors.

                          Squeaking noise bu woodland shoes.
                          I have purchased a shoe from a retails shop from Ahmednagar. The shoe was making squeaking noise. I thought the noise will go away in 2-3 days. But even after nearly 3 months o[censored]se the noise is still persistent. Using a shoe which is making such embarrassing noise is not at all possible. The shoe is not at all justifying its heavy cost (Rs 2500).
                          Kindly do advice for any remedy.

                            I have purchased a pair of woodland shoes article no GC 0463100 vide bill no 4663 on 01/11/2009.
                            The shoe is very uncomfortable and the tongue of the shoe bites into the skin and the color of the skin turns to blue / black with an hour of wearing the shoes. I showed the same to the dealer and he sent the shoe for repairs to get the leather softened on 26/11/2009 vide repair slip no 326/asr2. Even after the repair has been done the same problem persists .
                            Had it been any other brand like rockport / florshiem /nike / adidas the dealer would have changed the shoes or refunded the money . but I think that it doesn’t seem to be the policy of the your company.
                            The dealer acknowledges the fact that some other customers have also pointed out the same defect in the particular article no.

                            WOODLAND — Defective shoes with poor workmanship

                            Dear Sir / Madam

                            I purchased one brown Suede leather shoe from Lifestyle shopping mall in Gurgaon .
                            To my bad luck it s top portion has come out withing 3 days of buying . On asking replacement , the shop owner is asking for bill / date of purchase / etc etc ......For items such as Shoes I guess retaining of bill is very difficult . In my opinion the company should pay more attention to such kind of customer feedback .
                            I shall be greatful if someone calls me @ my handphone [protected] & help me in getting a proer justice .

                              I PURCHASED A PAIR OF SHOES FROM CONNAUHGT PLACE F-18 IN MARCH 2009.ARTICLE NO. G-4092 .THIS SHOE DID NOT COMPLETED EVEN ONE YEAR AND ITS PASTING WERE COMING OUT FROM THE FRONT AND FROM WHEWRE THE PSTING ENDS THE LEATHER IS CUTTING.I AM A STORE MANAGER IN THE RETAIL INDUSRY ONLY IN CONNAUGHT PLCE. BECAUSE IT WAS IN THE WARRANTY PERIOD I WENT TO THE STORE AND TOLD THE PROBLEM .THEY DID NOT GIVE PROPER RESPONSE AND I TALKED TO THE CUSTOMMER CARE THEY HELPED ME AND I HANDED OVER THE SHOE TO THE STORE FOR REPAIR MAINTAINANCE.AFTER 5 DAYS WHEN I ASKEDFOR THE VSHOE THEY SAID ITS BACK FROM THE COMPANY AND NOTHING CAN BE DONE.
                              THIS IS DISGUGUSTIN THAT A PAIR OF WOODLANND SHOE THAT COSTED ME2395/RS HAS GIVEN ME THE VALUE FOR MONEY THAT WITHOUT EVE NCOMPLETING ONE YEAR ITS PASTING OUT AND LEATHER IS TEARING.SUCH A REPUTED BRAND IN MARKET IF GIVE THIS RESPONSE PROBABLY THOUSANDS OF CUSTOMMER WILL LOOK FOR OTHER OPTION AVAILABLE IN THE MARKET.
                              NOW I HAVE TO GET IT REPAIRED FROM LOCAL SHOE MENDER WILL ALSO TELL THE QUALITY OF BRAND IN THE MARKET.

                              Woodland / Shoes — poor quality

                              Dear All,

                              I bought a shoe from woodland store:
                              shop no. 64, 100 ft road,
                              opposite India Nagar,
                              Bangalore
                              telephone no.[protected]

                              shoe cost was Rs.2695 barely 1 month after its use a small crack appeared on its sole when i went to store they said ts just the design and in case of any problem they will do the needful.
                              After 1 more months when it was badly damaged they said that they will repair it within 20 days its about 27+ days i have got no response from them 2 days back when i visited the store they said that my pair has arrived and they will call me within 24 hours it takes me around 100 bugs to go to store every now and then please take appropriate action against such issues so that customer is secured against cheap quality and poor services.

                              Not able to find the woodland shoe laces of camel colour.
                              I have been searching for them from last two months from showroom to showroom in Pune but they always tell me that its out of stock.
                              Please help me in finding out where i can find them or place my order for them.

                              Woodland Shoes — Poor quality pasting

                              I bought a pair of Woodland ladies sandal for my wife & a shoe for myself. Unfortunately my wife's sandal's pasting came off after 2 months. On reverting back to the store (at Grand Hotel Arcade, Kolkata) they refused to take any liability for the damage. My shoe lasted just over 6 months after which the pasting came off. I bought it from the outlet at South City Mall & even they refused to take any liability when I asked them to get it repaired. Such behavior is not solicited.
                              I DON'T THINK THAT WOODLAND SHOES ARE MONEYS WORTH ANYMORE. THEY ARE RUNNING ON GOODWILL WHICH WILL EXHAUST PRETTY SOON.
                              Not able to find the woodland shoe laces of camel colour.

                              Please help me in finding out where i can find them or place my order for them.

                                I purchased a Woodland shoe on 23rd march 2009 (Model No. G2101 Black 40) at a price of Rs. 2695/- from M/s. Aero Club, Woodland Store Shop No. 2, Main Market, Sarojini Nagar, New Delhi.

                                After 7 months The Sole of Shoe got Damaged and when i visited the Store at Sarojini Nagar they said Rs. 450 will be charged for replacing the Sole and the Warranty of Sole is only 3 months. Pl let me know the Warranty Policy of the Shoe

                                If this is the response/performance one will receive from Woodland I think no one should opt for a Woodland Shoe. Plz confirm me the Solution as early as possible.

                                I am here to register a complaint regarding my newly purchased Woodland shoe.

                                Sole of my shoes had been badly damaged (detached) within month. I was asked to submit the shoes for repairing. I have submitted it on 22 Nov 2009, when I went back to collect my shoes they asked me to purchase a new pair of shoes.
                                Even though it is not my fault, they offered me to give back only 75% of the money what I expended to purchase the shoe which has been badly damaged.

                                I asked them to return the hole amount of money, as I don't want to purchase a new pair of shoes from Woodland. It was my second experience from Woodland and now I don't want to purchase a new product. I don't want to be a Woodland customer any more.

                                I sent my brother to talk to Store Manager, however he did not get any response.

                                Now I am thinking to register a complaint in the Consumer Forum.

                                Any advise from you guys???


                                They have scratched my back and now its my turn to scratched their hole body (Woodland).

                                Almost same case happened with me too, but the sole got detatched in around 15 months, also to mention that i hardly used it for 10-15 times in that period.

                                  I had purchased a pair of chappals about six months back from the woodland showroom near Dev Arc Mall S.G. Road Ahmedabad, unfortunately I do not have the bill hence am being forced to express my dissatsfaction about the quality of the shoes.

                                  These chappals cost more than those belongn to other companies and one would expect them to last a couple of monthsd before it starts to wear off.........the top has got discoloured and the condition of the sole will indicate that it has not been misused. I would wish to exchange the same without having to incur any additonal cost............

                                    Dear Sir/Madam,

                                    I have purschased the said shoe "WOODS" on 17th Oct' 09 from phonix Mills, Lower Parel, Mumbai. It has been barely 2 months and the shoe sole has cracked into two. Also the sotre is not there any more. I am attaching the photos of my shoes regarding the same. I have paid Rs. 2500 for it. I thingk the quality of your shoes has really detoriated. Probally the street shoes wood last more than these ones.

                                      Dear Sir ,

                                      I had purchased woodland sandles from satara road showroom of woodland .
                                      Sandle was slightly tight while I purchased it ,woodland sales person told me that it will be comfertable in few days . after a week I found that sole of sandles wre not flat which is causing problem to my feet .they taken it for repaire and gave me after 10 days still proble is not sloved and again kept for a week but problem remain same .
                                      then I talk with area sales manager of woodland ,he said he will send to company it came after 21 days to show room but still problem remain same they are not ready to give me new pair as it seemes to company defect and on that woodland people are not cooperating to me, there area manager for pune is not picking up phone given by woodland customer care saying that he will help you

                                      I have spent 1650 Rs for sandles .

                                      Repare it properly or give me new pair of sandles is only request .
