New scam from zomato. I ordered food from zomato on 17/11/19. The order wasn't delivered for about an hour and then the delivery agent called to tell that the restaurant is delaying the order time and again. So i called the restaurant and he assured me it's ready. I called another 10 minutes later since i could see the delivery agent was stationary. I was told the food is on the way. After some time i tried calling the delivery guy but couldn't get through. I tried customer support on zomato and option was 'order running late'. It asked me whether i wanted a promo of rs75 for the inconvenience and i accepted. Gist of the story, the order never got delivered, zomato person called and said they would refund. Surprise was i got the total minus rs75 only as refund. Rest is available as a month long valid promo code.in summary they gifted me my own money and if i dont use it within less than a month, zomato gets it. I messaged customer service today and he was defending this whole scenario saying i accepted the rs75 promo code. Yes, i accepted an apology promo code not that my money be converted into zomato promo code that i can use if i want. From his communication it was clear that he knew the real issue and was just following orders to dupe customers. Congratulations zomato. You have got rs75 from me. I have deleted my account with zomato.
