I had booked a zoomcar (id- JPS696FV4). The pickup location was Delhi Airport t3, multilevel car parking, pillar k11. The pickup time was 8pm, however, since my flight landed early I reached the pick up location at 7.30 but the car was not available so also the number of executive provided through app was switched off ([protected])
The car parking personnel told us that the people who had come to pick up the zoomcar before us also had to wait for 2 hours and it is likely that we may face similar fate. On further enquiry we were told that 10 out of 100 customers had to wait atleast an hour for their car to arrive. We were very anxious to hear that zoomcar is delaying car delivery despite confirmation since we had plans to drive overnight to chopta where trek was arranged next day morning.
I tried calling at the zoomcar customer care number and after 17 mins of hold time I was able to speak to the executive. He provided me a different number of Mr. Abhay ([protected]) which was the same as the number of executive available on the app. I tried calling on that number for around 20-25 times from my number being [protected] and my friends number being [protected], but he did not receive. I waited there helplessly for 2.5hrs while connecting with zoomcar help line number. While waiting I met a zoomcar executive who had come to pick up a car, feeling relieved I asked him the status of my car but he said he was from South zone and this car was not allotted to him. He called his senior Mr thappar Or Mr. Thakur and later we got to know that the car that I booked (ignis - DL 14 CD 8776) was not available and he said he will try to arrange some other car. We were shocked and confused, but we agreed and continued to wait since there was no other option. However, when there was no response for another 30 minutes, finally we decided to leave in uber cab. After another 30 -40 mins I received a call from one Anil dagar ([protected]) saying since ignis is not available we can arrange santro next morning. Till then I had initiated cancelation. It was a very bad experience and since I had a female friend with me I was fearful about the fact that delhi at night is not very safe place.
We had plans to drive to a distant location, for an urgent affair to be attended next morning, however not only the plans were entirely spoilt, we had also wasted precious two- three hours in utter frustration and helpless ness and no help was made available from the customer care as well. It has caused untellable frustration and mental agony to start our weekend trip with such a unpleasant and frustrating beginning. It was most urgent for us to reach chopta tomorrow morning to join a trek however since we could not leave the place till almost 10 pm, and even then had to take the cab, not only were our plans frustrated but also it caused us further expenses.
The personal number of the executive available on the app was not answered despite many attempts and the customer care number which connected after holding the line for several minutes was disconnected by the executive on the assurance that they have registered our complaint and the call back was arranged. But no such thing happened, nor mr gaurav or mr mayank who attended the customer care number were of many help and our 2 to 3 hour wait was in vain. If the car was not available a prior intimation was expected or atleast a clear deniel of service was expected. Till 10 pm we were not notified on the actual status of the car. Customer who have paid in advance are being taken on a ride by zoomcar.
It is expected that zoomcar shall pay damages to the tune of INR 5 lakh for the extreme harassment caused by colossal waste of time, inconvenience, harassment and agony caused along with further expenditure borne on the cab. Along with costs of this litigation. It appears that zoomcar is frequently doing similar things with many customers as we were told by the parking person. Not many people must be taking out the time to file complaints. However, it is important that the company should be deterred from such behavior.
I hope for just quick and just disposal of my complaint.
