        Airtel Mobile — Billing details

        I have taken a postpaid airtel connection three months ago. I have contacted airtel's 121 help line numerous times as I need to see my "detailed bill" in their website before I make my payments every month. They have not taken any constructive action to protect my rights to know what exactly am I paying for when they send me their consolidated bills month after month. Its been three months so far and I still have not been able to log-in to their website as its continuously down! They have also informed me that details of my usage will be there in their website only for the previous three months. That means that my call details will be deleted even without my ever seeing it...

        I suspect they are overcharging me. Moreover, they are not providing any details-so I am not able to verify. They are also forcing me to make payments failing with they either opt to cut the mobile service, or charge additional late fee or simply speak rudely and pass on the buck to another dept!

        I am now fed up with the kind of paltry service airtel is providing. Its shameful that they take money with absolutely no accountability. I would like to take this up with Consumer Protection Court-but I need to know how exactly I should proceed.Kindly suggest the way forward.

        Airtel — Ripoff, no accountability

        My husband and arrived in Delhi on June 7th, went to a shop by the name of Climate Engineers in Hauz Khas Market, bought a sim card for Rs. 149 (paid more than any other place which we found out later), filled out all the necessary papers for varification. We went to an Airtel dealer and bought a cell phone in Green Park market and added Rs. 1500 worth of time. The phone seemed to work fine first day. We left Delhi next morning for Rishikesh to attend a family wedding. A day later we were not able to make or receive any calls. We tried to contact Airlet with another phone but were not able to get any resolution to the problem.

        Upon our return to Delhi on June 15th we went back to Mr. Khanna, the owner of Climate Engineers in Hauz Khas. This is when the run around started. We were told our papers were not complete for varification. Why did Mr. Khanna not know that before? We had given him everything he asked for. We spent 4 hours going from one Airtel office to another and another with no resolution. A representative from Airtel who happened to be at the shop in Hauz Khas, Mr. Swaran Singh, spoke to us and said he will try to resolve the situation. Over the next five days he kept telling us he is working on it while nothing was actually being done. I spoke with Mr. Anand Garg, regional manager, several times and same thing happened. Many promises but no outcome. We lost the sim card value, Rs 1370 (balance remaining) and no phone during the two + weeks we were in India.

        A RIPOFF COMPANY WITH NO ONE ACCOUNTABLE!!!

        Airtel Prepaid Card — overcharging

        I have purchased a prepaid connection for Rs,99/- on 14.10.2009 and recharged for Rs. 70/-, but the recharge coupon ( for availing the 50 paise 60 paise scheme for one year ) have not been activated when contacted the dealer he is telling it has been activated but the customer service of sirtel tells it has not been activated. I am a customer I should get te service at once after payment but I am being shttled here and there is this the service of the airtel company. Another interesting incident I purchased the sim for Rs. 99/- but it is learnt from airtel customer service that the Rs. 99/- plan is valid upto 8.10.2009 and the other other for Rs. 49/- have been started. But the dealer has suppressed the scheme and collected the amount for the old schme ( I have seen te card for value 49/- but the dealer told me that it is the old schme and outdated). This matter may be looked into and te balace amount may be converted into top up value.

        Airtel Prepaid mobile no — overcharged for recharge

        I have an airtel mobile no [protected], which I recharged on 08 feb 2011 in Uttranchal for Rs650/- and was given a talktime of Rs428.38. On contacting them vide my complaint no [protected] dated 25 feb 2011 no satisfacftory answer been given by the company except that i shuold have got the recharge for 649/- for which complete tealktime wuld havebeen given, My quiry is that I had paid one rupee extra and i've been penalised by the company for Rs221.62, I even asked them under which plan dose this scheme comes and what are the benefits but no satisfactory answers have been given. this shows how the company is trying to loot a common man and get away by stating it toless a money. My advice is that bsnl is the best for every body.

          Sir,
          AIrtel is running a racket with other service providers. I was charged abnormal amount of Rs 21000/- for 5 days spent in South Africa. Besides, the the outgoing service was stopped without sending me a bill I had to pay the amount to airtel to get the service.
          The customer service is a very very unhelpful and not at all consumer friendly. I have moved to BSNL now.

          Same here...they charged me 32, 000/- for 5 days and till date havent sent a bill home.We did not even ask for the ISD Roaming Activitation. Under some circumstances, when we tried to switch on the mobile at the airport, thats when we realized ISD roaming is activated. Since we have used, we are paying it in installments (which was approved by Airtel Front office - They agreed to take lesser amounts to clear the bill) but the airtel recovery team has been harassing us to pay the whole amount.

            AirTel service Shucks
            Since November I'm running behind 198 service with loads of complaints and tracking one on one as my full time project.

            Few of my issues are

            I hold this Airtel connection for about 2.5 years under corporate scheme and I was happy with service till November 2008. In recent times I have been put under lot of trouble and stress with Airtel Network and customer care handling.

            I have to spend about 2 hours to 3 hours a week registering a compliant with Airtel and track it, finally nothing productive. The stress and frustration I face are countless. I’m trying to list few

            #Multiple disconnection of calls mid of the STD conversation and landing in extra 2 minutes charges for each disconnection.
            #Disturbing cross talk over conversation and have to disconnect to avoid it.
            #On dialing a particular person, I got connected to other existing unknown conversation as a third party and the other person whom I called receives a blank call.
            #My issues yet to be resolved
            #On Jan17, 2009, a resolution offered to me on GPRS issue that I will have STD 150 units waiver but I don’t see it reflected in my February bill. Now if I call back asking for this waiver, Airtel customer care executive’s goes blank and says there was no any such resolution made.
            #On Jan27, 2009 I was promised to activate the STD 1 Re pack by Jan 31st and it wasn’t done. I spent nearly 4hours talking to customer care and service manager tracking it (nobody trusts the customer and I was totally frustrated convincing AirTel the fact) multiple times and got it done by Feb3rd and was again promised a deduction of charges for STD calls made between Jan31st to Feb3rd, yet to see it being done. The reason for delay in activation was due to server issue[Ref. ID: 27015490]
            #I receive a call back from customer care on these issues and the person over call was totally clueless about all this earlier promises and tried to convince me that there weren’t any promises. Even I reached out to the AirTel outlet (BSK 11 Stage) to get these issues clarified on March 1st and he promised me to get back on these issues on or before March 3rd and I’m yet to receive a call back.
            #I receive a clarification call from Customer care while I’m in roaming and I get charged for it. (I had a roaming incoming call on March 5th from 12345 for about 30 mins and again nothing productive, waste of time and loss of my time)
            #I’m not able to make my bill payment online since today morning and I get a constant message ‘try later’, today is my bill due date.

            April month, i have not received my bill. But my outstanding is over stated and no resolution for any complaints made.

            So i have mailed the following to Airtel...

            Despite this issue being acknowledged by you, that there is an issue which needs to be addressed, and bill due date being postponed, I get a warning message that my credit limit is reached and AirTel service will be discontinued on crossing the limit. You better look in to this issue and not frustrate the customers unnecessarily. You may wish I get back to 198 service then and then I face a problem and get it resolved. But it really irritates to do so and waste my valuable time with your horrible network. I would suggest you avoid such nuisances or please cancel my connection. I’m least bothered about continuing your service for the sake of maintaining the number. I reach your 198 service at least thrice a month and have complaints to be resolved which really shucks.

            I don’t see any value for customers at AirTel anymore and I’m left with only loads of stress and frustrations and I don’t see any value for my time at AirTel.

                I would like to inform you regarding to above subject that several times I already inform to related persons regarding to my scheme benefit in the scheme of AIRTEL DMMC 2. I sent them mail before some days which is mention below.

                (With the reference to above subject I am the success winner under above mention scheme of airtel DMMC-2. Details of scheme is mention below :
                Monthly prize as per your scheme in the 1st month 1 no of retailer who will get best run. 2nd month 2 no of retailer who will get best run. 3rd month 3 no of retailer who will get best run and 4th month 4 no of retailer who will get best run. These all retailer will get 25000rs as per scheme. I got no 2 in the 2nd month and I got no 3 in the 4th month but until now I did not get even single rupees from my monthly winning prizes.
                The details related with scheme is mention below :
                In the month of July 2008 Mr. Vinod Vijay Veragiya (The territory manager), Mr. Anil Uppal (The central zone Sales Manager), Mr. Vipul Patel (Distributors) and Mr. Dhawal patel (Fos) of airtel, you all came on my shop (Roshni Mobilel / Roshni Electronics at petlad} for your routing visit. During discussion Mr. Vinod and Mr. Anil give me information regarding to above mention airtel dmmc 2 scheme. You all are offered me to participate in this scheme because this scheme is running on zone level so you can take a part in it. Additionally you both offered me that if I will be take no in 1 to 4 during four month I will get more 25000rs as cash benefit along with company prize. On that time I asked all of you regarding to scheme is running at the state level or zone level and Mr. Anil told me this scheme is running on zone level. After all you all are give me positive reply so I worked in this scheme.
                As per your offered I get your confirmation several times on same day even after it and all the time you give me positive reply so I start to work under this scheme. Before closing of month july 2008 once again I talk with Mr. Vipul Patel and he talk with Mr. Anil and Mr. Vinod for such scheme and you both are give me reply as you give me before (you are eligible for this scheme and you can participate and you can get benefit).                 In the month of November 2008 Mr. Vinod told me that I get 3rd no in this scheme for month of September 2008 so I will get company prize and 25000rs cash as benefit from airtel.
                Even you all are also told me that you will get 25000rs + 25000rs for month of July 2008 + September 2008 along with company prize. You also told me that your company will give me these all on the day of dmmc-2 Function of airtel which will held in the month of December 2008.
                Un till now I did not take any benefits from your company. Now this is month of April 2009 but still I did not take any benefits which you promised me before.
                I talk with all of you several times but no one give me proper answer. I am working as your retailer from last several years. I did my best for your company but you all just play with me and you all just cheat with me. Kindly give me proper reply with in 7 days from the day when you get this mail otherwise I will take some hard steps to get my rights from you.                 After that mail which is mention below the all related persons whose name is mention in that mail Mr. Anil Uppal was came to my shop for further discussion related with that. I was shocked when he offered me for 15000rs instead of 50000rs.
                Mr. Anil Uppal was told me we can not give you whole amount which you desire in that scheme. Our company will give you only 15000rs only even if you will go by legal way you will not get it whole amount of 50000rs. After that discussion with them I wait for some days but he did not give me any reply related this. Now I have big confusion for that who is the responsible person in the company who will listen to me for my such problems. I thought company working honestly with the customer and all but I was very upset and shocked when I had such experience with the company. Now company start to cheat me.
                Sir, kindly take some steps to solve my problem. I hope you will take some action to solve it.
                Sir, I am sorry to say that if company will not take any proper action to solve my problems unfortunately I will discuss my problem with our cellular Association and I know that they will support me that not to participate in the next dmmc 3.
                I will take such steps because no one give me proper answer and they all are just play with me so how will I trust them? At last I tried to inform you so kindly give me my scheme amount as soon as possible.
                I hope you will give me positive reply as soon as possible.

                    I opened the airtel live page, where the browsing is totally free, and i got an sms from 64611010 saying "Thanks for using Value Pack Service on Airtel WAP .You have been charged Rs.10.Enjoy http://gofun.in"
                    I dont know from where this came and what to do with this and i got no help from Airtel Customer Care .They are saying that they cant give any information on this.This is really unfair.
                    I am also airtel user
                    on internet surfing even if i dont click on wap service link they automaticaly redirect me to that page and without any confirmation or response they say that thank you for downloading this this application you are deducted by 20rs .wtf service airtel provideing .even i dont click any link they serves me and deducting money.now i am going vodafone or docomo which has better network you are going down "airtel" day by day.i havent expected airtel like this.you will not believe but i have been unnecessrily deducted by minimum 500rs till now...i am computer engineer so dont tell it can be your mistake. i know that all deduction are geniuenly unexpected without my mistake of any kind you say.
                    to currently stop any unexpectedly started service sms "STOP" to 121 and follow procedure but you cant get money back that are already benn deducted

                      I've opted for Missed Call Alert (MCA) in Airtel. But now whenever I press busy button on my phone it gaves the caller a 'Not reachable' message, Plus I'll get a Missed call alert as SMS.

                      When complained at Airtel Customer Care, they says there's no other option than unsubscribing MCA!!

                      I cannot tell anyone that I'm busy! How stupid Airtel!!!

                          Hi Guys,

                          Those who are receiving Text based service and deducting Rs.10 or Rs.20 from ur airtel connection moile, U have a good news. I too was experiencing the same thing when i gave my mobile number to a website to download a free ring tone, i got a message that 'Thank you for subscribing to text based subscription Rs.20 has been charged', by seeing this message i was worried and for every week Rs.20 was charged. So i called airtel customer complaints by dialing 198 (in karnataka) or dial 121(follow instructions to lodge a complaint) and registered a complaint, and within 4 working days my problems was solved, i got a call on the 4th day from airtel customer care that u have been unregistered from that subscription and u do not receive any sms or any money laundrying from ur mobile, it worked for me, I hope it works for you too. BEST OF LUCK :-)

                              Dear Sir,

                              We have received a phone call from airtel no.[protected] on my friend's phone who holding the airtel connection on 6th may 2009, the lady on phone telling us that she is the airtel executive from Borivali branch Mumbai and offering us a RCUG group plan which provide rental 49 & free intracalling in group. As the offer is good our group of five agree to take the offer.The lady telling her name as Varsha & ready to send her another executive to fill the form & collect the cash. The boy, whose name was Rakesh Singh holding the Airtel Identity Card come to Bombay Stock Exchange as we work for BSE, & collect the cash amount of Rs. 3600/- & fillup the two forms and give us the acknowledge copy for the same, during this process the Varsha is continuly in contact with us & assured us that the plan is activate by a message received from airtel after 2 hours & the new two sims will be provide on next day. But after 3 hours when the message of activation not receive from airtel end, we contacted on [protected] but it continuously ringing.When we also call from our group phones no one pickup the call from above no.But when we call from our office landline a lady telling her name as Nikita pickup the phone and tell us that it is a Airtel Office & Varsha is gone for lunch when the time is 5.00pm.

                              We sure that we are cheated by the group of Airtel Dealer who holding the dealer card( information from customer care of Airtel).So we register a complaint aginst the above no. on 121, complaint no is 21565945.The customer care executive assured us that they will trace the cheater within 48 hours but they not reply again.And the above no.is still live and possible to cheat other people also

                              It is possible to trace the people who involve in this racket if airtel take interest as they having the all detail information of this no.If airtel is fail to do so that means they are not concern with the security & trust of people & the contry.

                              Friday I have perches airtel sim mob no [protected], and card no[protected] for my wife name –minal s.nimbhorkar from airtel shap shegoan naka amravati (franchises owner airtel) date 5/11/09 at the time of perches card I have submitted all relevant document with 100 ru perches prepaid life lime card but from Saturday my card not working so I complet in office they give me assurance with in ½ hours card is activated but that day not activated my card so Monday I again go this shop their vivek keshrwani (franchises owner )give me again assurance but not activated, so again I go shop 2 o’clock 9/11/09 that time Mr. vivek keshrwani using ruff word and quarrelling with me he abuse me so I complaint him in near gadge nager police station. And now I decided to publish this matter in news paper and lodge complaint in consumer forum Amravati about the mismanagement airtel

                              AirTel — Cheating Case

                              Dear Sir,

                              I am a broadband/airtel customer a/c no: 15956419.

                              I had opted for five month Plan with 6th month Free. The Line was activated on 28/7/2010.
                              1. I received a Bill no:[protected] for period 26/Dec/2010 to 25/Jan/2011. Which I shouldn't have received in the first place since the billing period is for the 6th month which was FREE. This SERIOUS LAPSE from the billing department. I was vigilant so I could recognize this as an attempt to De-FRAUD customers like me.
                              I am sure this was not an isolated case a lot of people might have fallen for this FRAUD and paid unnecessary bill amount. Such attempts to CHEAT customers are not expected from companies like Airtel which call themselves the leaders in telecom industry in India.
                              I hope that the Ombudsman seriously looks in the complaint to check if other customers were also cheated using this FRAUD.

                              2. I had registered a complaint no: 559360 on 29/1/11 immediately after the receipt of the bill. I was told that the bill be wavied off and I need not pay a penny. As a part of complaint closure I received a call and I was told that the amount of 980 Rs. is being waived off. Note the bill amount was 1079.84. The amount of 980 does not make the full bill amount which was agreed to be waived off. So I had told the CSR to keep the complaint open since this is not what was agreed on.

                              There was no follow up from customer serivce after that.

                              3. Today I received bill No. 15956419 which includes the previous bill amount. So I had called the customer service number to check status of complaint number 559360.
                              I was on the call for more than 40 minutes. The first attendant said that the complaint can’t be reopened since there is a comment in resolution that complaint is closed and do not reopen this complaint.

                              I would like to register protest on the following points.
                              a. I was surprised when I had given unsatisfied feedback how come the complaint was closed
                              b. If the customer says that he is not satisfied with the resolution and asks to reopen the complaint why is he given lame excuses.

                              After much perusal the CSR agreed to transfer the call to his manager. It took more than 10 MINUTES for the supervisor to attend to my call. This shows the kind of commitment of Airtel towards the customer service. I was told that there is some prorated charge of 100 rs. Since my plan was renewed on 22nd of dec. !!!

                              Note the facts:
                              My service was started on 28/7/10 even a fifth grader would understand that 5 months if any would be over by 28/12/10. Where does the MAGIC date of 22nd DEC come in play.

                              When I questioned when my service was started I was put on hold for 10 minutes after which I was fed up to know that it takes more than 10 minutes for Customer service to find my service start date!!!! When it is right in from of him on screen. I had to hang up the line since I would eventually end up paying to my telecom operator for the 40 minute call… I was hoping in vain that the supervisor would call me up to clarify about the delay as part of curtsey. But such things happen only in a dream.

                              There are following points to ponder.
                              1. Is this the quality of customer service acceptable from one of the top 3 telecom operators in India’s ?
                              2. How do the MAGIC dates come in existence for an invalid or a FRAUD Bill?
                              3. Why should the customer pay for AIRTEL’S FAILED ATTEMPTS TO CHEAT CUSTOMERS ?

                              I am totally FRTRATED by this the kind of service and CHEATING ATTITUDE of airtel towards CUSTOMERS.

                              I can't say who's right or who's wrong but these things do happen. It's a pity for you to experience this but these culprits must be brought to books ASAP. To speak frankly, I have received countless calls with the callers stating their identities as airtel representatives. I always give them the "tape recorded" reply. "How do i know that you are really an airtel representative??" Can't trust people these days!! However, airtel should take this matter seriously if they really value their customers.

                                Dear Concerned,

                                This is to draw your kind attention towards the poor service provided by Airtel mobile. It has become their regular practice to add un-necessary charges in the mobile bill. I have recd no call/sms from airtel about the same but without any consent given by me they add Rs. 60 for 180 mins free local @60 scheme, twice or thrice in the same bill.

                                Every month, they are adding this and on making complain they adjust this amount in next bill. In this busy life, I have no time to call customer care again and again and stand in queue. Find attached herewith all the details and reverts from airtel customer care.

One is showing my due amount as 236.42 & in other sms total due is Rs. 810/-. Bill is showing due amount as 2044. I am totally confused.

                                It has become your regular practice to charge Rs. 60 on a/c of 180 min local free @ 60 scheme. When I have never applied for this scheme than why everytime you include this amount in my bill. In last two bills also you have charged the same and on my complaint the same is adjusted. I failed to understand why this is happening again n again !!!

                                Now, I am totally fed up with the services of airtel. Pls do the needful done.

                                This is to inform you that, I am having Airtel Mobile connection ([protected]) since last 4 years. Previously my billing plan was India Home 149 Plan (Advance Rental) which was supposed to be completed in the month of March.

                                I have recd a call from Airtel, and a lady explained me that since my Advance Rental Plan was going to complete, Airtel has a new offer for billing plan, she pitched me another plan for which monthly rental was Rs. 299 and I confirmed her to activate this plan from now onwards.

                                Surprisingly, On 13th March, I received a message from customer care stating "Adv. Rental 999 (24 months) Disc. has been activated on your Airtel Mobile with effect from[protected]." for which I have never applied...

                                On 17/03/2009, I received another message from customer care stating " As per your tele-confirmation, Bill Plan for your Airtel No. will change to Magic 299 wef next bill cycle." I got relaxed because this message was as per my telephonic confirmation with the lady.

                                Today i.e. (On 19th March), I have received a call from your customer care ([protected]-VIVEK), he asked me if I have any issues with the services. I explained him about the problem as it is mentioned above.. He was just compelling me that I have consented and confirmed to AMIT (I dont know who is he), to activate 999 Advance Rental Plan. I told him that I have never given any consent to anybody for 999 Adv Rental Plan. In reply, he told me that I have to pay 999 very sarcastically. I told him that I will not pay 999 otherwise I will deactivate my Airtel Number. He again told me that he is forwarding my request for cancellation.

                                Is this the way your CCE deals with customers ?? I would suggest you to please throw out these kind of executives (atleast in the recession time), who even don't know how to retain the customers and who don't know how to talk with them.

                                I am having some more Airtel Nos just because I was having a good faith in Airtel's services. But with this kind of services and behaviour, I am depressed.

                                Further, this is to clarify again that I have not applied for Adv 999 Rental, and interested in Magic 299 plan only.

                                This is a complian regarding my Airtel Post paid no.-([protected]) bill. I have taken the Airtel connection before 2 & half month, but till time I have not recieved a single bill. For this i called to customer care centre, appelette officer more than 25 time but they always given false statement. and still the problem is same. I am getting my other bills on same address, but I do not recieved the airtel bill till time . I have also told them if they can not deliever the bill than they disconnect the number but they do not doing that.

                                I receive reimbursement from my company after providing them original bill, but due to not availabilty of bill I am paying from my Pocket. thats why i want to take other servises...

From recent months ie from six months onwards without subscribing to any wap services also I am being Charged With soomuch money. Eventhough I complainted several times also the same thing is being happining.

                                  For instances From Airtel Wap services on massage came to me for one trial offer If I am interested in the Offer I may be charged Weekly Rs, 10/- But without my permission without my concern I am beeing charged nearly Rs, 50/- without using the services.

                                      I have been using Airtel postpaid connection for more than a year and after every month or two, I was charged unnecessarily Clip Charges of Rs. 50. I raised many complaints in this regard, but nobody cared.
                                      For past four months, I am being charged at a different rate plan. I have been raising complaints/ sending emails to them everyday since Feb., 2009 and infact I have a long list of complaint nos. which nobody bothered to resolve. In the month of March, I got a call from Airtel saying that I will be getting a waiver of Rs. 500 for all this mess, but till date I have not got any waiver. I did not pay my mobile bill for the month of April (which was Rs. 290) assuming that I am getting a waiver of Rs. 500 and hence I did not need to pay the bill. Now they have disconnected my number and when I talked to customer care people they are saying that it is disconnected because of non-payment of bill. I don't understand when I am getting a waiver of Rs. 500, why should I pay a bill of Rs 290. Same thing happened with my wife as well. I don't know whether Airtel has found some new ways to cheat the customers. There services have become really bad. Now, I advise everybody to think twice before taking Airtel connection, because they are big cheaters. It has happened with many of my friends also.

                                      I have to make requests on 121 for reversal of clip charges repeatedly. Inspite of repeated calls and promises that no clip charges will be levied I recieve the clip charged to my account every time.                                       I had been using Airtel Services since 4 years and had been paying the charges on time.Being an old customer, my request for compensation on the charges is not being granted.Inspite of calling the Customer Care Unit everyday regarding this matter, the Unit is not responding properly.Is this the kind of service Airtel gives to its Customer who has been paying bills regularly since 4 long years ?

                                      I hope my request will be considered and please reply me as soon as possible.Hope that you will take right steps within a small span of time and oblige me.

                                        This is regardig and illegal construction of a mobile tower in a residential area by Airtel Mobile Company,
                                        We have even filed a case in the court and while the case in in court the owner of the house is doing the construction, he is least bothered about the case, now being court vacation he is doing all this work. We have tried to stop the work by the muncipal authorites but he will stop for the movement after they leave the place he will again get into work. He has kept the generator on second floor violating rules.
                                        The tower is being constructed on the second floor of the building which is not strong and it is sorrounded by houses, there is a school nearby, two temples, one mosque. After knowing about the ill effects of mobile tower radiation we have opposed the construction. The owner of the building says I am constructiong tower on my building what is your problem. Our house is an old building which is tiled house and we dont have any other place to go. The owner of the building has got own house and property in a place 8 kms away from our town. Please help us.

                                        Have you got the stay order from the court, if yes, the local police should implement it. Take the photographs. If the stay order is not being obeyed it will become serious as it is contempt of court.
