Dear axis bank,
I hold an account with axis bank, maintaining it since 2015. It was well maintained and active account but since april 2019 it has become a pain.
I received a message in month of march about inr 1067, being debited as consolidated charges. Didn't bother much for this amount as i considered them as routine charges (As i knew my balance was low for that month). Very next day i deposited inr 30, 000/ - and then continued with regular transactions (As big as inr 100, 000 etc etc.).in april there was another instance of low balance but this time was debited with inr 15, 000/-. I tried checking my statements and to my surprise no details/breakup of charges were reflecting nor i received any message about charges. All other banks show details of charges in statement.
Technically, now my account was running negative without any explanation, so i stopped keeping any balance as the moment i deposit the money it will be vanished.
Since then i must have visited my home branch multiple times and every time i was responded that this could be due to annual closing, we will sort it out soon or i have sent an email to concerned team and will update you once it's sorted. (No call received from axis bank ever for solution).
Today this figure has reached inr 58, 000, and upon shouting and fighting at your branch, i get a a response on charges details, which could and should have been shared with on my very first visit to branch or at-least reflected in statement. No sms message either for those charges.
After understanding the case, we realized that : -
1. Axis bank plays smart with customers by hiding the charges details.
3. Axis bank doesn't share total charges with customer before debiting them from account.
4. Axis bank statements do not comply with rbi guidelines of stating charges details in statements.
5. Axis bank doesn't inform client about the complete charges through sms neither on the day they trigger nor the day those are debited from account.
6. Axis bank doesn't have a standard cycle of debiting the charges from account.
I was charged inr 1067 from my account, which i was informed through sms, but it went negative by inr 4000 which was neither informed nor mentioned in statement nor any message received. And despite keeping more then inr 50, 000 in account (After it went negative) bank never bothered to debit inr 4000 until my account again went back to lower balance stage. Any explanation??? Why bank failed to inform me or intimate me about negative balance on time?? Later when my balance goes low bank suddenly debits whole amount of past 2 months and additional charges for insufficient balance.. This is simple robbery by playing smart. Today my account is showing negative with inr 58, 000 to be paid but no details mentioned in statement. That's misrepresentation and misleading.
I need some solution of this whole misrepresentation/ misleading game or i will be forced to go public and approach higher authorities with evidences.
