My former employer initiated a salary account with axis bank in 2015 november.in june 2016 i shifted to another organization and requested the fellow, who approached us for account opening, to close the account. He didn't react, as for as i was getting emails. I was unable to close the account and no transactions were made for 18 months. Recently my new employer asked me to open a salary account with axis bank. During the process, i checked the charges with customer care and with the axis employees too. They told that your account is on -115.82, these charges will be levied if you activate now. I agreed and activated and deposited my salary. After 5 days they deducted 3000/- as consolidated charges without information. Is the bank is not liable to ask the customers to close the account if any transactions not been done for a period. For opening the account they will come to feet of the customer, but not for the closing of the account.
The banks can ask the customer, whether they are interested to continue or not. They have registered mobile number and e-mail id.
