After purchasing tickets @ Rs.150/- each, I alongwith my wife had gone to see the movie 'Adventures of Tintin' 3D(E) which is being screened at Cinemax, Dona Planet, Guwahati, on last Saturday the 26/11/2011. As we were entering the theatre, at the table where the 3D Glasses were being distributed, the attendants asked for an extra payment of Rs.20/-, @ Rs.10/- per ticket, for the 3D Glasses. When I protested & asked for receipts, the attendants bluntly told that they are charging same from everyone and no one is protesting and that they are collecting same for maintenance.

I may add in this connection that for last sevaral years, I had being living in Hyderabad and had watched sevaral 3D movies in IMAX & also other theatres there. But no extra charges were taken for use of the 3D Glasses. Moreover, in Hyderabad, the 3D Glasses are distributed in a hygeinic manner, each packed separately, but at Cinemax, Guwahati, they were distributed openly, without any packing and we felt very uncomfortable and uneasy using them.

I agree with the complaint as I too had a similar experience while going with my family to watch the same 3D film. The attendents charged Rs 10 per ticket and that too without giving any receipt. Such collection when added up runs to several thousand of Rupees per show. The authorities concerned got to act to stop such illegal collection of extra money from the cine goers.

    I had booked the tickets on the website of cinemax but was unable to retrieve my booking as it was failed. The money was deducted from my credit card. After several calls and emails to cinemax my refund didnt took place as they told me that my money will be credited within few days, but till now not a single action has took place.
    Thats disgusting.
    I am facing the same problem and still i didn't get my money back.

      There policies are totally against Consumers as once we book a online movie ticket it is not possible to cancel, postpone or propone it.

      There is no option to cancel the ticket, no matter how many dayz in advance the ticket is.

      I did it once and has to loose my money because of their policy which makes anyone handicap to loose money.

        On 2nd July 2011, at Cinemax Kolkata, I had booked two tickets of a 3D movie. When I had reached the multiplex I found that there is a huge queue out side the screen (screen 4). The staff which were handing over the 3D glasses were so slow that they could not keep up with the incoming customers. After sometime when it was time for the movie to start, we were still outside. Then we had learnt that the staff fell short of the 3D glasses. The manager had sent someone to get the glasses. All these should have taken by the manger (Mr. Amit Mishra) before the movie timings (these are basic things).

        Next, when we were given new pair of glasses I personally had to change the glasses for 6 times.... Yes, 6 time because the glasses that were handed to me were faulty. When I went to the manager, he behaved rudely and said what can he do if the glasses were faulty and started bragging about how expensive those glasses.

        After having a fight with the manager, and on requesting he had then sent me a staff with extra glasses.

        My question is, why such pathetic service when these people are charging the highest in the city!!!
        Also the manager was rude, the glasses were faulty... all these made me miss 30mins of the movie.

          I have lost my expensive mobile phone at Cinemax premises. The staff was rude and not cooperative. I had booked two tickets for the 11:00am show for Dil toh Bachcha Hai ji at Cinemax Vashi on the 30th of January, 2011.

          The incident happened on the third floor box office counter. I reached the venue 10 minutes late and while getting my tickets from the counter (booked through internet banking) kept my phone on the counter. After I received the tickets I went inside the screening room for a security check and headed straight inside the theater. As soon as I sat on my seat, I realized I did not have my phone and I immediately went to the box office counter to get my phone. It had not been more than 5 minutes. The staff told me that they had not seen anything. I then asked the staff to call the floor manager. The manager Debamita told me that they would find out the same and asked me to register the details in their lost and found book. She told me she would get the CCTV footage and within 3 hours let me know the result.

          We went inside the theater to wait. At the time of the interval, I went back to her to ask her of the progress, she told me they had seen 6-7 phones and were not able to identify and so she had sent a team to check the seat numbers of people who entered after me. When I asked her to show me the CCTV footage so I could identify my phone she told me that they did not have a CCTV footage. I asked her to connect me to her security manager in the corporate office. Mr. Raju is the security head and told me that due to a link failure they did not have the recording. I asked him if they did not have the footage why didnt they inform me about it. He then told me that he himself was only informed about 15 minutes earlier.

          When I asked debamita why she hadn't informed the manager, she told me that they were doing their procedures and would get back to me in some time. I waited there for more than two hours and I was not given a definitive answer.

          he lady was rude and exceptionally inefficient. Due to the negligence and the inefficiency of the staff at cinemax I have failed to recover my phone. There might also be a possibility that the staff has stolen the phone. I would like to see the footage of the CCTV recording which was denied to me.


          The phone that was stolen from the cinemax premises was a Somy Ericson Satio mobile, the cost of which was 35,500. Apart from that I could not watch the movie for which I had bought tickets. It is highly irresponsible of a company like Cinemax to have such lack security procedures. What is the point of having a CCTV camera when the footage cannot be recorded.

            Dear Sir,
            Most of the multiplexes are exploiting people with exorbitant prices for the beverages they sell. Example is a medium sized popcorn is priced Rs. 75/- and small onion somosa 2 pieces is priced at Rs. 40/-. On top of they restrict do not allow people to carry any packed food. When questioned all they can comeup with is 'management rules'. They make such meaningless rules to exploit people. They don't even spare families carrying some food items for the sake of children. Worst case is that the Cinemax security did not allow us into the theater because my 4yrs old kid is drinking a small tetrapack juice, saying that their management rules do not allow us to take food inside. Not even something that is in the process of being consumed. Their tyrannical behavior is very disturbing and inconvenient.
            Please let the public seeking entertainment know:
            1. Do the multiplexes have such immense freedom to price basic, common food items so high
            2. Does any govt body monitor them?
            3. Why do they have to insist on not allowing food inside? Unless they want to force people to buy their expensive stuff.

            I have heard others having similar grievances, but usually we keep quite and allow them to take us for a ride.
            Appeal to other surfers, please share your experience in this regard.

              last week I visited CineMax cinema for Movie at Gandhinagar. When i took ticket I was shocked by price. On ticket, rate was written 120 Rs. but that Ticket issue Guy asked me to pay another 40 Rs. as Food Coupon which is compulsory with every ticket. This is ridiculous.

              Also the price for Food was extremely high compare to M.R.P.

                I purchased ticket from cinemax online, and got confirmation. money was debited from my account.

                but the ticket was not booked when i went to cinema hall.

                ticket says status: canceled, but money is taken from account and we get order id also for the ticket.

                i was told by cinema guys that, they usually respond within 24 hours

                i tried to contact them many times but no response. attached the ticket that i purchased on 9th may...

                    On 14/03/10 I purchased 3 tickets of the movie Atithi tum kab jaoge morning show gold class 10 a.m.
                    blankets were provided 15 minutes late after reminding the staff twice.During interval only one counter was open and their was mis co-ordination among staff.I was given wrong bill wrong item and even late.Manager misbehaved.Ticket is not printed properly.
                    On 30 may 2010 i was booking a ticket at Cinemax 101 Growel's Kandivali E at 02:28 pm for booking sits, i was about to check availability of sitting arragement for Badmaash Company, at Counter 2 one of the ticket booking agent(MALE) was talking so rudly, also he was telling that "If customer dont inform the confirmation of booking ticket and only checking availability & if ticket booker (male) at that counter forword the 'Command ' for booking ticket there is no cancellation and they (ticket booker) has to pay from their pocket the ticket money so JUST COME HERE FOR BOOKING TICKET NOT FOR CHECKING AVAILIBILITY "and then after a huge arrgument he tender me ticket for screen 4 - B-RAW 10-15

                    Its the first time i have face these type o[censored]nprofessional Service from Cinemax in my whole life .

                    when i was called for telebooking at region channel than she gave me the area theater number that doen't took the phone

                    i was call repeat the call to region channel she ask me to go and get ticket from the ticket center ...HOW rude THEY ARE ACTUALLY FOR TELE BOOKING SERVICE THAN HOW SHE CAN GAVE UNNECESSARY ADVICE TO COLLECT THE TICKETS FROM THE COUNTER WHERE YOU WANT ...

                      I booked a ticket for a show for 12 p.m with cinemax online in a transaction(232778) on 09th Jan 2010 at hyderabad cinemax. There is a processing time lag while getting the confirmation and i tried with another transaction for another movie for 10 am (232835) which got confirmed first,Then i got the former confimed as well. Now immediatly i posted a mail for cancellation of the first transaction as i can't watch both the movies at the same time ( I guess!) even i couldn't reach the customer care numbers both in mumbai and hyderabad. After 24 hours of my request for cancellation, i get a vague response that they cannot cancel the tickets. It is so painful that even i tried to cancel the same by enquiring at the counter, who are not supportive at all.

                      I need the refund of my first transaction which i am not able to get any sort of response from cinemax.

                      Cinemax — Wrong practice by the staff

                      I went for a movie today and the staff from the counter told me to take some tickets lying with him and dint give me a fresh set of tickets, for the night show. The other staff came along with me and made me sit for the movie. But the tickets was of some other movie and some other show which simply means that the counter person was making money out of the old tickets.
                      i reached today morning at 7.40am to cinemax andheri west infinity mall for the 8am show of chalo delhi.nobody was there from the cinemax staff. we were 8to10 people waiting for the person to come and issue us the tickets for the show.at 8.20 a person came and told us that all the morning shows of 8am are cancelled from monday onwards. there was no information regarding this in news paper as wellin the theatre box office. there was no person or the manager of the theatre available for taking complaint from us.we had come fromall the way from vile parle.kindly see through this complaint and at least reply us.if possible reimburse the expenses made by us to reach the cinemax theatre.

                      I am stuck in a similar scenario. first transaction showed cancelled, so I went tried again, which was successful. But soon afterwards, I received 2 messages and mails confirming both my bookings. need to cancel one of them, but numbers on their website don't seem to be working or nobody responding.                       hi my name is Md Ameer. I did the advance booking at cinemax counter and i asked for a good seats so he granted me fifth from below that means in K .then i saw the seats availability it was empty from E,F,G,H,I,J.this is the way they treat customers if you ask for a good seat..
                      In my case, it is the same. I went ahead and wrongly booked a ticket on 20 th July. But when I realize that I was wrong in booking the tickets I went ahead and try to call but did get any response however I sent an emails at the same time. But the cinemax does not reply. At about 9:50 I called again and when I asked them to cancel and they told me I will not be refunded because the ticket has already been charged. Please help me to refund against this bull policy of the cinemax. Ticket Id: 783447.

                            i had booked the ticket using your website for Movie Love Aaj Kal for Saturday show i.e. 8th Aug 09, but the status showed as cancelled after I tried to process the payment, as show in the attached email sent by the Customer care but it was showing the money was deducted from my card, so I went to cinemax vashi to see weather the ticket was booked or not, but the rep at the box office said there was no ticket booked in my name, and as the tickets were available I had to buy the ticket by paying cash but I received the statement from my bank yesterday that I was charged for the ticket which was not even booked,

                              Credit Card — REFUND OF CREDIT

                              I have 2 cards of ICICI Bank (say card A & card B)
                              Being dis-satisfied with the services I wish to close both the accounts.
                              There is a credit of 23000 in card A & debit of 19000 in card B
                              Neither they are sending back my credit balance nor they are willing to adjust the debit/credit within the 2 cards. What should I do?

                              Kindly be informed that we are a multiplex situated at Sec-20 A opposite magppie tourist complex with one more mall with us named Parsvnath Manhattan mall. We do have the electricity poles at the divider of roads and lights also but we have not seen those lights working ever. As far as security reason concerned those should be switched on at proper time. Please make sure that all those lights should get switched on before 20th october so that the festive of diwali should not look dark and dove.

                              Another issue which irritates is road service to the mall complex. The mall is operational from month of august but the road is not available yet. When you are providing a space for commercial complex you should also provide the basic facilities like road, greenery and proper maintenance of the same.

                              I hope you will understand the problem as it is not a personal instead a social problem.

                              We are looking for a positive approach from your end. And please fix the problem as soon as you can.

                              HDFC Bank Credit Card — Cashback of Rs.440/- still pending

                              I had called HDFC customer care in Mumbai on19th sept 2009 and spoke to Ms.Jyoti and her Supervisor Mr.Faisal regarding the cash back of Rs.440/- which i should have got without asking. After wasting half an hour negotiating on the call, Mr. Faisal agreed upon giving me refund in my next bill cycle.
                              But to my dismay i did not get the cash back in my next bill cycle and on top of that i was charged Rs.738/- for not paying this Rs.440/-. So i had to call the customer care again on 16th Oct 2009 to get the cash back as well as refund. Luckily i got the refund for Rs.738/- and i was told that Mr. Faisal, the supervisor would call me next day around 11:00AM. I think the next day as not come yet and I am still waiting for my refund.
                              I dont why I was so patient regarding this. I should have complaint about this long time back. I have given enough time to HDFC Bank Credit Card Department to process my refund. If i reach a saturation point then I might file a case and demand for compensation for billing me wrongly more than once (as this has not happened for the first time with me)

It was also mention at the back side if the coupon as “ this offer is exclusively for CINEMAX customers”.
                              3. It was mentioned in the coupon as ORIGINAL REEBOK MENS WRIST WATCH worth Rs. 2599, but due to the offer by paying Rs. 500 as Shipping charge the product will be delivered.
                              4. In the pouch used to deliver the Wrist watch it was mentioned as REEBOK since 1895 and the symbol was same as that of the Reebok International Limited, a subsidiary of the German sportswear giant adidas founded at Bolton, England (1895).
                              5. In invoice inside the pouch the price was listed as Rs. 2598.75.
                              6. The watch was a duplicate one and in 4 days time its strap surface started to peal off and the surface finish of the watch was bad.
                              7. As a genuine customer of M/s. CINEMAX, I request you to stop the supply of this coupon from your ticketing section as this will affect your brand image.
                              8. Trusting your company I believed in this offer and lost Rs. 500 for a duplicate product, hence you have gained undue advantage by committing unfair trade practice. Your act resulted in untold hardship mental agony and loss. So I am thinking of initiating legal proceedings against you.
                              9. If you are interested in avoiding a litigation you are requested to take back and refund me the amount of Rs. 1000/- for the prize of the watch and documentation expense with in 7 days failing which appropriate legal proceedings will be initiated before consumer redressal forum and other forums in that event you will be held responsible for the cost and consequences thereof.

                              I had booked my ticket online from Cinemax website for movie ticket on 1st Jan 2012. After payment the status of booking was shown as canceled but my account got debited for the amount of tickets.                               Till yet no action taken. I have discussed with My Kotak Credit Card Customer Care.
                              They told that money has not been credited back from Cinemax.
                              If Cinemax will credit back the amount of cancelled ticket then only I can get the money.
                              It is really not good thing for such type of experience from Cinemax. No body responding properly.

                              Request you to please do needful ASAP.

                              Rs. 890.45 got deducted but still the amount has not been refunded. I confirmed with my bank Customer care and they said they cant do anything.
                              give the refund as soon as possible.

                                Hi All,

                                I would like to know if there is a price regulation at Cinema Multiplexes. Especially prices of a vending machine coffee is priced at Rs. 40. This is 800% more than its origianl pice of Rs.5 that we get at any vending machine stall.

                                There is absolutely no control over the OVER CHARGING, by any regulatory authority. which is a shameful act.Atleast there should be a mechanism to have random checking by the authorities for this kind menace.

                                  whenever we go to CINEMAX cinema hall &during interval needs drinking water we are force to shell out Rs25/-per bottle since the water is not manufactured by the cinemax theatre but only supplied as a monopoly becouse we cannot carry any eatables forget about the drinking water which every humanbeing needs.In the process we are looted outrightly but we are helpless.Though the case is going on in court under MRP.ACTBY FDA which might take Yrs under indian courts, do we have to get looted ? will cinemax stop looting the viewers? will the respective dept.do the work what has been asighened them?

                                  Cinemax Theaters — Bisleri Price in Cinemax

                                  This theater has changed the MRP tag on Bisleri & increased a bottle costing Rs.10-15 to Rs.25-40
                                  This is not fair, we are thirsty that time & have to forcefully pay such a price. Please do something to keep a check of these malpractices at so called sophisticated places. WHY SHOULD WE PAY MORE THAN THE MRP WHEN WE EVEN HAVE THE RIGHTS TO BARGAIN ON IT. PLEASE HELP US EXERCISE OUR RIGHTS. WHERE IS THE MORAL POLICE.
                                  cinemax is in general a useless company, there facilities are not half as good as pvr or fame .They changed show timings completely twice, once for surrogates and once for this is it .I hate this joint, we end up paying and they keep on looting
                                  I completely agree with the given complaint. Rs.25 for a bottle of water is simply outrageous! There should be a constraint on the prices of the items in cinemas as soon as possible. Else we will see the consumers pay for it, as usual !

                                    on 5.07.08 i attempted online booking for a movie in city center mall vashi, cinemax .but booking failed and money was debited from my credit card.now as in i have recieved my statement i have to pay the money.after followups and mail it has not been done.cinemax till today has not refunded my money

                                    I agree with Kunal... The same thing happened with me on 5th of July 2008 when I was booking ticket online for a show at Vashi, City Centre Mall. I think there was a server issue, but money was debited from the credit card - the tickets were however not booked.

                                    After repeated following up with them via email and telephone calls, I have not received any positive response. Till date I have not received the amount. Will some cinemax official please look into this.
                                    Even I am facing the same problem, I have booked the tickets on 9th of september and booking was failed but the money was deducted from my credit card.

                                    After repeated calls to cinemax, I havent received the refund thats disgusting.

                                    Kindly please someone look into this matter.
                                    Yesterday & Today I attempted 3 times to book tickets thru the website bookmytickets.com for Cinemax, Vashi, but they were all unsuccessful, even after giving my card details. I hope the amounts are not all debited from my card . I am fearful after reading these complaints above. Please someone look into this matter urgently.
                                    cinemax is not suitable for taking coke and popcorn. because there credit card and debit card is not transaction and our suggestion is fast food price should be taking in ticket price(as per custmor)

                                    I had gone to see a film at the Cinemax at City Centre on Sunday 21st June 2009. The film Angels & Deamons was on Screen One at 1745 hrs. The Audotorioum and the Lobby were not cooled at all. We were on seat Nos. C 12 & 13. Repeated requests to the management for turning up the cooling were neglected. I had strong words with the managers in the Lobby. The front of the auditorium was cool but the rear area was 'HOT' & extremely uncomfortable. Finally I walked out of the Theatre because I was soaked in perspiration. I intend to take this matter to the Municipality for due action against these errant Multiplexes. The excuse offered was that there was no Power yet the Movie was being screened and the lights were working. It must be realised that iof fresh air is not supplied to the patrons as per regulation then the Theatre owner is in fault and must be penalised.

                                      I had swiped my ICICI salaried debit card at cinemax sion at 4.15pm for 2movie tickets on the 22nd of March saturday evng .so i had signed on the slip for rs 360 but later when i see my mini sattement it shows that 360 has been dbtd twice from my account.How is it possible that Cinemax have debited the amount twice whn i have swiped only once to pay.I later approached Cineplanet people SIon branch over the phone to their representative DInesh & he told me to get the mini Statement & the signed transaction copy & they would refund the money.But to my dismay when I wnt to the Cineplanet people, The person I spoke to was not available & was guided to meet the HR manager Adil, who was not only careless but also very rough & told that They would have to check if they actually have debitd in their accounts & would take some days, & told they would get back in coupleof days, But its been a week & no response from them.ALso he told me they are not responsible for any such acts & we would have to go to their corporate office in kKandivli & gve an letter.Its a long procedure & if they find that the amount has been debited twice then they would refun the money in 45days.WHich was just a mouthshut answer.The management at cineplanet sion are not only careless in ticekting & other functions.I have had more than 1 experience of disgust.We can find men using the womans toilet in front of the watchman & they dont stop them...What am i suppose to do...How are we suppose to stop these private business man who are only interested in profit & not social welfare.

                                      The is with me. i have tried to book tickets online, but it was not done due to some error but when i saw my credit card statement there was a chrge of Rs. 360 twicely.
                                      I have comlaint so many time but no body from cinemas are reverting on this
                                      It happened with me too, once, while booking a ticket on a website, the credit card debited the money twice. After a few calls frantically, the website assured that they will look into the matter. and they did, so i was quiet happy with service, since the next bill the amount was credited back in the statement.
