[Resolved]  Airtel Broadband — Non-cancellation of Internet Connection despite repeated requests and non refund of security deposit

Respected Sir/Madam,

We, Bhavna R ,Manisha B and Danisha S, foreign students in University of Mysore, would like to bring to your kind attention some of the problems encountered with the Airtel Company in Mysore. Since the very beginning they have been disappointing us with their poor service and lack of professionalism. We subscribed for a Broadband Internet Connection with the plan of 10 GB (2MBps/256kbps) in August 2012. Throughout, the speed was not as good as promised and we kept facing connectivity problems all the time.
We have shifted to a new place and before that we had applied for cancellation of the Internet Service on 03.04.2013. We were told that the cancellation would be done within 9 days, that is by 11.04.2013 and that the security deposit of Rs 3000 would be refunded to us within 45days. (Reference number for request:[protected].

But to our further disappointment, they kept calling us to ask if the connection was ok and they literally pestered us to keep the connection. In spite of our firm decision to cancel it, they did not effectuate the cancellation at that time and we got one more bill for no reason as we were not even living in that house and therefore did not avail to their service. They even gave the excuse that we asked for reconnection when we had already shifted from there. It would be anyway clear in their data usage record that after the cancellation request that no one used their service.

Furthermore, they kept troubling us with their phone calls and each time we had to say that a request was already filed for cancellation and on each phone call they would file a new one. It was very annoying each time for us to repeat the same story to them. (Further cancellation request numbers: 31351428;[protected]
Moreover, we would like to inform you that the Airtel Company provides different plans for almost the same price. We got to know about this from our friends who were also using Airtel Broadband. For almost similar prices they were getting a much better package with higher speed and better usage allowance. This is why we found their service very unfair and unprofessional.
Eventually, we are still waiting for the refund of our security deposit after deduction of the real pending amount (i.e for the time period we used their services) and we hope to get it as soon as possible. We have already been waiting for so long and that is why we could not resist from filing a complaint here.
We hope that our request will be given due consideration and the amount will be refunded soon. We look forward to hearing from you in the near future.

Broadband — Breaking connections repeatedly

MY Telephone No is[protected] . MY Broadband Connections is 500+ but when I surfing the internet connections it repeatedly breaking the connections with in 10 or 15 minutes.

I have been trying to get in touch with the Airtel BB customer care in order to enquire about broadband. After making several calls at 4444121, all that I have got are assurances and request ids. A rep called up and told me that he would get back in touch after checking the feasibilty of the connection in my area. That was 4 days ago and I am still waiting for the call. Today, I called up again and was asked to wait for some more time!!

Please let me know if I can expect anybody to call me up regarding this as I intend to get my connection done asap.

Airtel Broadband — cancellation amount refund

airtel broadbond serive very very worst and they don't have the trained employee and always their aim and target to seating all customer. The company is running for collecting money from lots of way only not for service oriented, they have collected money from me before 6 months after that there is no any respondy from their end. if you are not refunding my money within a week time then you are forcing me to go humenrights court.

airtel customer care persons are very irresponsible,they give only complaint number,they dont resolve my problem since one month.i went to airtel office many time for cancilation of my connection.they dont disconnect my connection,they send the bill of this period and this is useless for me to payeing the bill.

i call to airtel customer care 4444121 on 22january 2010 for cancilation,then they give me complaint number 303994 ant told that in 7 working days my connection will be disconnected.but after 7 days my connection is still running then again i called to 4444121 then they again gave me a complaint number

when today i called him then he told me that is not my work my work is only forwarding your request to customer care.

sir please resolve my problem as soon as possible,because i am paying unwanted bill to airtel.

My Cancellation Request of 15 May was dis-honoured on a fradulent claim by Airtel that they had called me up on my Airtel Landline and I had agreed to keep my connection.
A lie and a fraud:
because
- i have no landline instrument, only a nos issued by Airtel for broadband use
-i left delhi on 17 May and am now in Goa

After repeated to & fro, i was forced to rush my driver with modem to Bharti Airtel office and even after the confirmation of cancellation last week, I was shocked to be told by 121 that my A/c is still active.

The verbal confirmation is never enough and they refuse to give email confirmation.

the customer empathy is missing

there is no one who picks up the nodal office phone, it clearly shows they are not bothered.
only auto emails are being generated.

by now, over the last 2 weeks, the company has issued me with 10 different cancellation nos, but NO ONE HAS CANCELLED MY A/c.

Airtel — No Refund on Airtel Broadband Connection Deposit

I am Mohammed Imran ( Mobile # [protected] ), resident of Medavakkam, Chennai for the past two years.

Five months ago, in interest of subscribing a broadband service from Airtel, I contacted Mr. Rahman ( Mobile # [protected]), a sales executive from Airtel Ltd, T.Nagar Branch, Chennai . Upon conducting initial connection feasibility check in our area along with Mr. Muthu Karuppan , (Manager of Mr. Rahman) on 20th March, 2010, they agreed to provide service. Out of the offers explained by them, I opted for the " ADVANCE RENTAL " scheme ( Scheme Code: 3011 ) and they collected Rs. 4500 /- towards advance rental for 6
months which includes zero installation charge.

On the payment, I am provided with subscibers enrollment form towards the payment and was informed that connection and activation would be done within a week.

After waiting for one week, I found that no action was taken from them to provide the connection. On continuous followups and calls for next few days after that , I have been told by Mr. Rahman that it is impossible for Airtel providing connection, since they have to dig the road to pull the cable to my home from other side of the road which costs more for them and denied to provide service as promised.

I was SHOCKED to hear this, as he along with his manager personally came to my home for investigation and confirmed the feasibility of connection.

Since I had no other way, I accepted for money refund and received Rs 3000/- on 06th April, 2010 on agreement to the fact that the remaining sum of Rs 1500/- would be returned back to me on another one week of time.

Again as usual, there was no updates from Mr. Rahman, and in order to get the remaining money, I did frequent followups with him. And most of the time me call was not picked/answered by him.

All of a sudden, one day, Mr. Rahman came back to me saying that " Airtel as corporate should not want to discourage the customers. So we are ready to provide connection to you which helps us to get further more connections from your area " and he asked me whether still I would like to go for connection. I accepted to this offer by putting up a deadline of 07th May, 2010 for him to provide connection and if he fails to provide it in the stipulated time, he should repay the outstanding Rs.1500/- to me.

Thats all, Mr. Rahman on behalf of Airtel, neither provided connection till now and nor refunded remaining amount.

Whenever, I call him to get the status, he never picks up the call and even if he picks up, he replies irresponsibly saying that he is out of office and can tell me the status only after checking in the system.

I am really tired and fed up with following up with these guys for obtaining a broadband connection. After this much struggle, I stand here as loser spending my money, time and peace.

Can you please understand the plea of this suffered customer and would try to arrange me for necessary compensation.

I have raised a request to cancel by Broadband connection for Number[protected]. Cancellation/record No: 475997 on 21st April. However i was shocked to see that they have not cancelled my connection and have billed me till 4th May. I was contacted by various people till date regarding collection of the instrument. I have requested them to collect the same asap. I had spoken to Irshad during 1st week of May, Anthony – 14th May, Madhu – 20th May, Bala - 23rd May of Airtel. But today again i came to know that my number still is not cancelled and i get a new cancellation number. The customer service is pathetic and it takes 30 mts on an average to look into the details and complete the call. Hope they cancel the connection and charge me till 21st April.

AirTel — cancellation of request regarding change of our broadband phone number

I requested to change my broadband phone number 4049306 to some other phone number.
i was told on 14th september , by your customer care representative that there are no charges for changing our number. They told me that my number will be changed by 16th september. but when i called cutomer care today(16th september) they told me that i have to incur charges of rupees 500 for changing my phone number.

And due to the previous wrong information provided by your customer care i want to cancel my request for changing my phone number.
