[Resolved]  Airtel — Number not valid

I am a customer of airtel and my number is [protected]& the series 7709 is still not registered with MTNL hence anyone has hunting line facility (press "0" or any other number to get dial tone and then dial the number) never can reach my cell number since the day i took ((6 months). I had a lots of e-mail communications with the customer care of AIRTEL, but in vain. It was shameless, that even after contacting their nodal officer, neither he could rectified the problem nor he replied. in one occasion, they asked me to contact MTNL and rectify the problem on my own which is really an utter nonsense on their (AIRTEL) part. Hope AIRTEL will rectify this issue once for all.

Giving below some of the communications which i exchanged with AIRTEL customer care, which are self explanatory.

We understand from your previous emails, regarding unable to receive Incoming calls from MTNL landline numbers for your Airtel mobile number [protected].

We regret the inconvenience caused in this regard.

As per the telephonic conversation, we would like to inform you that no problem found in the 7709 series from our end.

Further, as per your request, we would like to inform you that you may get in touch with the Nodal Officer with your earlier request or complaint number if the complaint is unresolved by sending an email to nodalofficer.[protected]@airtel.in
or by calling at +91 [protected] begin_of_the_skype_highlighting +91 [protected] end_of_the_skype_highlighting.

if i approach MTNL and rectify this issue of your 7709 series (all AIRTEL
numbers in this series, no doubt, having problem), what would be my honorarium
from AIRTEL?

I reiterate that you please announce to all the forthcoming customers that
AIRTEL's 7709 is having problem with MTNL as it is not registered, hence please
do not take this connection........ or else i can suggest my relative who works
with THE TIMES OF INDIA to simply put an article about this issue which will
save your valuable time.. please suggest what should i do?

Dear Sheeba,

It is very heartrending to know that to rectify this problem of your (Airtel)
number (though alloted to me), i need to contact MTNL. I suggest Airtel should
announce this problem (like myself) and also the remedy to overcome it, to
those customers who take your (Airtel) new series 7709.. I would be grateful
to you (Airtel) where and whom i should contact in MTNL. If Airtel can't deal
this problem directly with MTNL, how do you (Airtel) expect an individual can
mend this issue with MTNL? I never realise that after i switch over to airtel
(from MTNL trump service which i was using more than 10 years), i will have to
face such problems and the kind of help i received from airtel people... and
what more i can expect from airtel in future..

AirTel — Number Validity

Hi

My name is Ashok Ashtekar , I had purchased an Airtel Prepaid connection phone number being [protected] , I had lost my sim card while travelling in the bus some months ago I didnt lodge any complaint nor did i tell the customer care about my loss. Recently I tried calling my cell number and a person in Nasik answered my call I just wanted to know if the company can issue that same number to another person without any information to me or is that person using that sim registered to my name. Please help me sorting out this matter.
