I have been in possession of the Airtel number [protected] for more than 3.5 years now.
Recently I have been out of Maharashtra state for 4-5 months and have not been making calls using this number. This airtel number had been recharged by me with a validity till end of December 2010. When in November i switched on this number I was getting incoming messages. Yet when I landed in Mumbai yesterday 5th December 2010, I haven't been able to use this number nor been able to contact the customer care.
today on contacting the local relationship centre I was informed that the number has been deleted.

My questions:
1) When i had recharged my number with a validity till late December 2010 HOW can Airtel delete the number.
2) the customer relationship assistant says that i have to recharge or make a call once every month. i want to ask that why should I be subjected to these restrictions.

Solution I expect from Airtel:
I expect to get my number back at the earliest.

Thanks Rakesh, this is the first time i got a decent reply from the Airtel.
Please look into this matter as i am afrid if this number [protected] is launched by Airtel again in market then somebody can buy this number, this will be my huge loss. I request you to please show me a way to get my number back either by reassiging it to me or if this is not possible then i want to buy this number again if it is launch by Airtel.

Even i have the same problem, they have deleted my number [protected] for non usage of more then 3 monts.I like to inform you that even I have the sathi pack on this number. I am using my number for more then 4 years and having validity till 2012. How can Airtel can do that to every body. I have my mobile number to every document, banking details, Resume details.       The mobile signal strength is very poor and it keeps fluctuating a lot at P & T Nagar / Thapalthanthi Nagar(Madurai) Tamil Nadu. The calls get disconnected oftern and there is loss of balance for the consumers. During emergency the signal is totally NIL and we run in search of the signal, which is very disappointing and worst.

      Mobile strength is very poor near K.R.puram, Bangalore. Most of the times, signal is NIL and its very disappointing. This complaint has been reported for several months and no action has been taken by Airtel team.
      Most of the airtel customers are annoyed with the signal strength and eagerly waiting for MNP to get implemented.

        RECENTLY AIRTEL DIGITAL TV RECORDER WAS INSTALLED AT MY RESIDENCE WITH SOUTH SUPER VALUE PACK AND MEGA SPORTS

        SIGNAL QUITE OFTEN EVENTHOUGH IF THERE IS LIGHT SPELL OF RAIN.
        I MADE COMPALINT WITH AIRTEL SERVICE MANAGER AND HE TOLD ME THATI WOULD NOT GET SIGNAL IF THERE IS LITTLE BIT OF RAIN.IT IS VERY RIDICULOUS AND I SHOCKED TO HEAR THE ABOVE ANSWER. I DIDNOT HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE WHEN I WAS HAVING SUN DTH CONNECTION FOR THE PAST 10 YEARS. I SWITCHED OVER TO AIRTEL MAINLY FOR DTH RECORDER BUT THAT IS ALSO NOT MEETING MY NEEDS SINCE I COULD NOT BE ABLE PLAY BACK THE RECORDED ITEMS FROM THE VIEW CHANNEL AS WELL AS FROM SERIES RECORDINGS.

          I am a Airtel mobile pre paid customer my number is [protected].

          In the recent months there are several times my money have been looted in Rs.10s and 20 at nights. Few days before on 2.12.2010 night, i saw my balance was around Rs.142 plus.But, in the morning 3.12.2010 i found only Rs.56.55 and nearly 90 rupees was neatly looted.

          I gave complaint and they said my amount would be reimbursed if found fault with them in 3 working days and gave complaint number as CBDCC [protected]. I kept quiet.

          I put again Rs.120 top up on 3.12.2010 evening (Rs.106 Talktime) and with previous balance, that day talking etc I found by night the balance was around Rs.120 plus. Again the next day morning 4.12.2010 my balance was reduced to Rs.55 plus.

          I got angry and when i tried to contact the customer care from morning to evening they never picked up my call seeing my number. In the evening when i cached them up via another mobile she said, she will send the second complaint number immediately to my mobile. But till the time no response.

          More over for the past one month i could not make at least a three minutes call without several cut in the middle. That means to a simple one minute talk i need to spend four calls amount and comes about four times the unnecessary cost which goes to Airtel owner. I feel depressed as to why our Govt and Trai are not concerned in these like mega looting in an exponential way from the millions of innocent mobile users. Though seems like mini leakages in one rupee and two rupees per customer, with millions o[censored]sers Airtel is looting in billions. More or less, the situation remains same with other mobile service providers too. But in the public opinion as with the dealers too, Airtel is the prime looter, they say! See, to have clarification on some thing, if you want to talk to the customer care officer you have to pay 50NP/3min to Airtel. What a shame? Being a mobile service provider they tax customer for customer care calls! Here after every one can do the same thing in India!

          My pain is, what ever the consumer says in the consumer court it is not going to be accountable since we have no data to prove any thing. Because, the mobile providers only keeping the datas and never the Govt or any common Org, which can be manipulated at their whims and fancy.

          See, we cannot prove our repeated complaints and their negligence.
          We cannot prove their excess billing.
          We cannot repent or retake our money by accidental touch of any buttons in our mobile.
          We cannot have any receipt for our money and their service accountability.

          It is not like going to a hotel, eating and paying bill directly and if any fault is there with their bills and service we can argue and do some thing. But, It is like, fighting with the invisible devils and the devils can wound you, call you, bill you excess, torture you but you cannot retaliate in any way!!

          What a system and what a Trai and Govt authorities to look after their citizens!!!! Great India!

          AirTel — Airtel is looting money

          Last Saturday I received an SMS stating "Thank you for choosing De De Thoda Pyar as your hello tune". Previously my hello tune was "Pratham Tula Vandito". I checked from another number whether my hello tune is changed. It actually changes. I never attemted to change my hello tune. It automatically changes. Before this I call a person whose hello tune was the same. But how can it automatically changes. I asked customer care executive. He agreed that I did not attempted to change the hello tune. And assured me that my hello tune will be changed in 24 hours. When I called on Monday. The CCE said since there used to be holiday on Saturday and Sunday the your request remains pending I will forward it. Then on Wednesday when I spoke to CCE he said somebody might have send SMS to change the hello tune. My 20 Rs was also deducted. I dont want this hello tune I want my hello tune back and also my Rs. 20 back. Airtel previously also played lots of jokes with me. Once in a call he was hearing me some hello tune songs. Then he asked me to press 1 to listen it again. I pressed 1 and suddenly the call disconnected. And I was charged some Rs. nearabout 15 to 30. Again once somebody gave me miss call. When I attempted to call back it says this number does not exist. Then after 2 misscall I suddently received the phone. He says there offer from Airtel My number is selected in a draw and I will be deducted Rs. 15 per month and my all outgoing calls will be Rs. 0.30 paise per minutes. It also proved a hoax.

          i bought an airtel sim card [protected], [protected] two weeks later. i have submitted all the documents, even the incoming calls for both the cards has been barred for twice. i bought the sim for rs75 and the talk time was rs6 and immediately i recharged for RS50, and i had a balance of rs49. after some days rs6 has been debited from my account and the customer care saya that it has been added mistakenly.sim card was brought in the name of MR.K.RAJENDRAN.NEYVELI.

          Airtel Mobile — Looting the money

          Dear Sir,

          I lost Rs 30/- from my airtel mobile account today morning. I had only Rs 22/; in my account and hence my current account balance is Rs -7/-. On enquiry with the customer service dept. I came to know that it has been deducted as the value added charges. I made them clear that there was no such services activated by me and they agreed to give me my money back then itself. But yet I havent received my money back and further calls to customer service are getting disconnected by them. I was in an isolated place when I lost my money and could'nt make some calls which were extremely crucial for my business.

          I never expected such a dirty behaviour from a reputed company like airtel. I here by request to punish the concerned with needed punishments so that this type of things shoould not happen in future.

          Hi,
          This is to make people aware of Airtel looting money. I have been with Airtel from the time i first got a mobile phone and now I have 3 postpaid connections with Airtel and they haven't stopped making my life miserable. This is the worse service provider, every other rep, you speak will give you different response.
          PLEASE BEWARE AND CHECK YOUR BILL BEFORE MAKING A PAYMENT.

            I am holder of "AIRTEL PREPAID PLAN" Mobile Connection and the No. is [protected]. Of late, a sum of Rs.30/- is quite frequently debited towards "Value Added Services" like HELLO TUNES, CHATS etc., without our requiring any of those services. As soon as the amount is taken, I have to contact 198, talk to the Consumer Executives after waiting of minimum of TEN MINUTES, request them to reverse the Debit entry of Rs.30/-. Immediately, it will be done, but the very next day or on the SAME Day Rs.30/- will again be taken away for some other services, not asked for. I am fed up with this harrasment and I have already decided NOT TO TOP UP the connection any further in future.

              my limit is 10GB for 512 kbp and after that 256 kbps which i confirmed from Call center as i have been charged 50 paise per call. anc call center Interaction ID is[protected]

              i want to take it further. my airtel number[protected]

              Why airtel always have billing complaints and you people are charging for calls also now.............this is all company strategy to misguide customer and make money.

                i have a dish TV from airtel i have recharge on 2nd earli morning at 4am it refrelected in my accout but iam reciving no signal i have given complaint regarding airtel executive took the complaint and it got close becsue they have sent the engineer to the old address, again i raise one more SR it was clsoe becaseu enginer said custoemr not rechable tho my numbe was active, again one executive raise an sr one enginer came to my place he rectified teh issue after 1hr same problem i called up again to the engineer he promised he will be coming but he is not coming day by day my accoutn is getting duducted i want my the refund for wt i have not used and still my sissue is not resolved. and my

                I am not getting any channels,since 27.08.09, the message I am getting on my t.v is no satellite signal, since last 8 days , to day only I have recharged my subscription. as it was due on 1.09.09, but the interesting part is after making pyt still we cannot see any channels, we are not able to contact any of your customer service. or technical person over the phone, can you seriously look into this matter, and restore our services at the earliest.                   I have purchased Samsung LCD TV through Next Electronic shop on October 29th and recived one Airtel HD activation Kit .Since i already had Airtel Standard DTH connection and my package was valid till Dec 22 , i did not try to activate it till dec 3 and today when i am trying to activate the High Defination DTH conection the Airetel exective is telling me your voucher is expired . Neither the sales person who has sold the TV informed me about the validity of the scheme nor the activation kit mentions the same . The activation kit says the scheme of Settop box with Samsung TV is valid till Nov 30th which doesnt mean the kit expires after Nov 30th what it means is i can get the settop box with Samsung TV till Nov 30th.

                    To whomsoever it may concern,

                    This is to let you know that I have been facing issues with my


                    telephone number [protected] for last 3 months,as some time its not working sometime lots of


                    crackling sound is there due to which my broadband connection drops sometime its not connected


                    and most of the time its very slow .Due to my busy schedule most of the times I am not able to


                    complain for the same aswell,cable has been changed twice outside the house in within three


                    months so what I should assume in this case that being a world renowned company Airtel uses the


                    worst quality of product or it could be due to work is not completed in proper manner by the


                    engineers due to which I being as a customer is suffering .I should be compensated for all this


                    inconvinience I had regarding the service .


                    In reply to this I recieved a call from nidhi(Corporate office) on 14.12.2010 at approx 15.25 on


                    [protected] ,but the call expirience was very bad as I explained her the issue that I have been


                    facing the issue for last 3 months as it has been happening since the cable was changed outside


                    the house in Oct'2010 ,I explained her that I didn't had time to use the conection for last 3


                    months due to which I was not able to compalint for the same as I was out of station for most of


                    the time and my doesn't know anything about the complint procedure ,Hence I am complaining late


                    .I informed her that I need compensation for this inconvinience that I am facing for last three


                    months .I have been using the connection for last 8 months and I have never complained in the


                    past for compensation ,but now since I am facing the issue so I should be compensated,I said as


                    per the engineer my telephone instrument is faulty and I would require a new instrument for the


                    crackling sound issue on the landline ,but the dropping connection and slow internet connection


                    still remains the same .I informed her that inorder to use the service for making calls and check


                    the landline connection I need a landline instrument Foc, and I should be compensated for the


                    problem Iam facing for last three months .She said that she would be able to provide the landline


                    instrument Foc in leu of compensation but would not be able to provide any other compensation


                    will get back to me regarding the same .She called me back and informed that she wont be able to


                    provide me any kind of compensation as there is no complaint logged .I said is it my duty to keep


                    chasing the fault,She said she can only book the engineer appt cannot do anything else .Then I


                    told her that I would like to cancell the service ,and she gave me options to cancell the service




                    Now the engineer was there at my house today on 15.12.2010 at 13.00 hrs and they still working on


                    it




                    In last I would like to say I have never expected this kind of responce from such a renowned


                    brand name that the customer care reprensentative don't know how to deal with customers .These


                    things leave a bad Impact on the company's name.In future I have decided that I will never go for


                    any AIRTEL product and never recommend anyone for the same .


                    I recieved a reply regarding the same but I have never espected as the way it has been sent,I


                    informed that I was out of station for approx 45 days due to which I was not able to check the


                    service and when I was here I was getting the same problem as I had in the october.So presumably


                    this is not working since I reported the fault in the first instance.Never have aspected this


                    kind of reply I know my rights as the customer .Will make sure will go further level required .


                    The job is now completed but I have received no reply regarding the compensation,Hence waiting


                    for reply




                    I recieved a call from saloni regarding the compensation and it was only for 15 days ,I informed


                    saloni that I have been facing this problem for last three months, she told me she would check


                    and revert it back to me ,I discussed the landline instrument issue aswell I questioned her that


                    if in future I would get any problem on the landline how would I suppose to know since I dont


                    have working landline instrument available .She told me that she wont be able to arrange for new


                    landline instrument but can manage to send the refurnished one or the old one ,I agreed with that


                    but then I recieved a call from kuldeep stating that would be sending someone to to connect the


                    instrument and he informed that there would be charged incurred if I would be sent a instrument &


                    I detailed him regarding the discussion I had with saloni he informed me that he would be


                    escalating the case to the further level.






                    Now I would like to know is it a right kind customer service that airtel is giving to the


                    customers by giving the customers false commitment ,I would would really like to take this matter


                    to the highest escalation deptt in airtel as I do have the recoding of the conversation that I


                    had with saloni.




                    I would like to say that I am very dissatified by the way my query has been handeled

                          I used to use the Postpaid Number but then i changed my mind a few days back and migrated to prepaid.
                          Then I wanted to activate the Black berry services
                          SO the procedure was to SMS airtelbb to 121 and i did it .....a reply came and had plans in it.....I chose my plan and send it back.......then again a reply came and said that if you want to activate then SMS BIS <model number of phone> to 121 ..... as i am using 8900 so i sent BIS 8900 and in reply they said that we cannot proceed.....if you are a new prepaid customer then wait for 24 hours after activation.......its been 3 days and still same msg is coming up........... I can't even call the data service helpline (7070)
                          they say that " this service is not available for my number"

                          i called 121 so many times they say tht we cant help u and u have to 7070
                          i said its not working.......

                          In final words.......I am tired of doing this.......Please help

                          I have a Blackberry 8520 handset (which is sim locked to airtel).I am a prepaid user and I had used the airtel bb plan 899 for the first month, for which it worked efficiently. From the next month onwards I wanted to convert that plan to 299 plan. For that I messaged 121 for activation but I am receiving the msg that
                          "we already have a provisioning request under processing. please wait while we process your request."
                          And it has been 2 months that I am still waiting without any activation. I sms'd 121 atleast 100 times also called the BB technical support 20 times, I am getting a frustrating response that there is a server problem and it will get sorted out in 24 hours. Now they are telling me to convert your prepaid to postpaid so that we ll be able to activate your service.

                          Now that's irritating..

                            yesterday allow when i didnt touch the phone as i was in coll my phone s at home... asa i reached home i got hte message you have been charged Rs.10 for using internet... lik this daybefore also i lost my balance Rs30 unnecessarily... for sure i know i'm not using a servise or using net...
                            pleas file a complain and rectify my problem please get back my balance to me...
                            and this is unfare from airtel... i'm charged unnecessarily when not at all using the internet...

                            i m the owner of mobile number [protected].
                            yesterday i had used internet service on our mobile, i had opened Facebook and yahoo mail. it must have taken me 2-3 min of browsing and then i exit from the system. however your system started deducting money continuously.. almost 250 rs have been deducted, its more than now 24 hrs and u r still deducting money and sending messages for the same. after every 20-30 min we are recieveing message" 4.80 rs charged for xyz kbs of download" even though we are not using internet service anymore.

                            we even switched off the phone twice but nothing happened, money is still deducted. there seems to be a glitch at your end. this is your technical fault because of which we are losing our balance. please rectify this immediately and refund the money. this is very unacceptable.

                            my mobile no. is [protected]. I too agree with the automatic balance deductions airtel is accused of. I am not interested in any of the value added services of airtel but I am frequently charged rs.5-15 unnecessarily with the message 'you have been charged rs.5 for activating the '______' service'. But on 23rd May the problem became serious when I was surfing facebook on mobile internet and I received a message that 'You have been charged rs.65 for downloading java game from airtel.But actually no file was downloaded on my phone.On contacting customer care, I was told that the money cant be refunded because it was purchased by me and it was not due to airtel service. I was really annoyed.Please try to return my money as soon as possible.

                              i bought a new Airtel Digital TV(HD) connection on[protected] & their engineer installed the settop box & dish on[protected].
                              But, since[protected] my Airtel digital tv is not working (Reason unknown). I complained about this matter so many times but all in vain.
                              Not even a single enginner visited my house for the same.
                              Please take some action and do the needful....

                              on 19 Sep 2010 i made a complaint to airtel customer care that my set top box is not working,they provided me a complaint number and told that engineer will visit in 24 hrs........................but my complaint is not solved till 01 Oct 2010.engineer told me that u r set top box will be changed by swapping method or u should pay 1000 rs i will provide u a new set top box..............but when my swap set box will come who will use it.....................tell me||||||||||||||||||||||||

                                Respected Sir/Madam,

                                I have a Airtel Prepaid Card which was converted from a Post Paid card to Prepaid Connection. As it was told to me by the Airtel customer agents that if you are going abroad you should convert in to prepaid so that you can keep that number activated (Mobile Number [protected]) and still I am staying in London, but its been more than a month my Airtel card is not working even though I used to recharge it frequently. But I never used that number from UK as I had kept this number to just receive messages from my close ones in India. When I spoke to the customer service agents they told me that this number is permanently de-activated because of non usage. So I just want to complain against the company. I don't understand how can they permanently de-activate my number without informing me. Also when I spoke to Mr Sudharshan (Nadal Officer of Maharashtra and Goa Airtel department), he told me that this number is now permanently de- activated and will be available for new customers after few days. Therefore I asked him to book the number in my name so that I can get the same number back. But he refused to do so. In that case the company is being unjust to me just because they want to sell this number keeping in my mind their own benefits (As it is a platinum number)

                                  Airtel company cheats its customers like me by wrong deductions & also its the most worst company in the nation which provides ADULT CONTENT free of cost without permission from customer.

                                  & also when I complained for the same to complain number 198; my number has been blocked by the Airtel company; now i can't talk to 198.

                                  So this is the strategy of Airtel for their cheap profit; first deduct any wrong charges & then block the number for complain 198 so customer has to call to 121 & he will be charged with 50 paisa / 3 minute.

                                  According to India's laws it is unethical.

                                  Also it is offense to send vulgar & Adult sms to anyone.

                                  For reference I have saved few of them

                                  I am getting Service messages from Airtel daily and from last 4 days, Rs 5/- are being deducted from my prepaid mobile balance.

                                  I would like if you can get that checked and resolve it as soon as possible.

                                  The messages come from some hungamawap/airtel. When I checked on web, I found the similar complaints from many other customers also.

                                    I wish to bring to your notice that our Airtel broadband connection (Number:[protected] has made ours lives miserable.
                                    Despite paying the monthly bills regularly, what we are being offered in return is pathetic bandwidth, unflattering net speed, and misery unlimited.
                                    Of late, the internet connectivity simply dies off without any reason, and for days at end we're taken off the grid.
                                    Adding insult to injury, Airtel technicians refuse to show up and attend to the issue, and don't answer our calls too.

                                    We, as professionals in the corporate world, understand the significance of after-sales service and customer care... probably the folks at Airtel do not.
                                    I demand this issue (complaint #[protected] to be escalated and taken care of immediately.
                                    If the said problems are not rectified at the earliest, I swear that I'll be dragging these to the Consumer Court.

                                      i have already registered for DND sms service on 13/10/1010 with mob no . [protected]. so the customer care people told me that i will not get such message after 45 days of registration . reg number [protected]. But after 45 days ie on 27/11/2010..still i am getting the unwanted or promotional sms. The customer care executive told me that they have registered a complaint with id [protected] and have to wait till 08/12/2010 .. This is too bad ..airtel is cheating the customers..have to take necessary action

                                      i have already registred for DND service on my mob [protected]..on 10/10/2010 ..after the 45 days of activation period i am still getting the sms ..please stop this ..otherwise we will look forward other actions ...aritel is cheating customers..by doing this and by charging money for saying this to customer care executive..
