I got Airtel Digital TV installed at my home around 3 weeks back and my Customer Id is [protected]. I was not at home at the time of installation and my dad got it installed. When I returned, I found that installation was not done correctly and set top box was not at all placed properly. I called up engineer Rinku who did the installation and told him about this problem. His response was that the problem will be fixed shortly but no one turned up for one full day. I again called him up but he disconnected. I tried contacting him several times from different numbers but all his promises to fix the problem turned out to be false and no one turned up. Even his behaviour was strange and I was amazed to see the bad behaviour of this engineer from a company like Airtel.

However, I called up Airtel Customer Care and inspite of logging my complaint multiple times, no one turned up. I even tried calling local supplier numberr given to me by customer care but in vain. I just received only one thing and that is false promises. Below are all the complaint numbers which I logged in due course:

I am sorry to say that Airtel Digital Tv has the worst and pathetic service which I have encountered till date and it really is a nightmare. Unfortunately I have taken the package for full one year. I am terribly upset and want my money to be reimbursed.
Please note that I have also lodged another complaint. The number is:

I have also emailed to 'dthnodal.[protected]@airtel.in' & '[protected]@airtel.in' but still no response.

The day I purchased the set top box, the shopkeeper told me not to buy it and instead go for Videocon DTH as Videocon has good service. It was very unfortunate that I went ahead with Airtel.

How can I have my money back?

    Inspite of my repeated request for Do Not Call Me on My Mobile No:[protected] & Landline No:[protected], I am getting Massages & Phone Calls From Airtel Digital TV. I am Getting Massage & Phone Calls at Midnight & un relevant time. Please stop this reminder services with immediate effects. For your information, I am not using digital TV Services more than 18 months time.
    I Dont think Airtel is an Professional Organization, as after so many request on phone & mail, still i am getting SMS & Phone Calls from your company. Is it a Bagger Service starts. I have to make this harsh statement, as i am getting sms & unwanted calls at any time. Could you stop this nonsense immediately.

        I am an old customer of Airtel. In early October 2010, I had requested Airtel (customer care as well as at Airtel website) for a wi-fi Router to be installed with my Broadband connection attached with Airtel no. [protected]. After long wait and many reminders, a so called technician named Mr. Karan (Ph. [protected]) visited my house on 19.10.2010 with a Beetel unpacked Router without any box and without any user manual. When I asked him the reasons for installing an unpacked Router (as I felt that it might be an old/used one), he stated that it is very difficult to carry the box. Anyhow, he tried to install the same but failed to do so. Even the Airtel software Net expert couldn’t be installed by him. He even asked for my computer as well as the Router`s password. On receiving calls from Airtel twice or thrice, I narrated the sequence of events to them and requested for some trained technician so that he may do the needful.
        To my surprise, after prefixed tele appointment, the same person came to my house on 28.10.2010 and installed the same. Before paying the amount, when I asked for the box and the user manual, he again explained the old story. I felt suspicious and asked him to show me his Identity Card which he was carrying. To my surprise, he was carrying the ID card of some Mr. Chote Lal (Ph. [protected]). Then he asked me to get him uninstall the Router and he took it away by saying that some other technician will come to install the same. When I asked him for the phone number of his seniors, he explained that all the numbers are stored in his mobile and the same is not working. Although, I hadnot paid the amount but he had since taken away my duly installed Router, I fear, he may not misuse my user ID and the password fed in that. I immediately informed Airtel Customer Care Punjab as well as NCR and the Nodal Office Punjab at the email IDs - nodal.[protected]@airtel.in, [protected]@airtel.in, care.[protected]@airtel.in, care.[protected]@airtel.in

        Since it was not expected from a company like Airtel, I asked Airtel to look into the matter at the earliest and depute some other trained technician with a new Router duly packed with box and user manual. The person so deputed should fix the time on phone before coming.

        On 29.10.2010, another Technician of Airtel Mr. Ajay ([protected]) visited my place and installed the Modem – Beetel 450TC1 having Sr. No. T004PLT67ZB0Q A6010916 and asked for Rs. 1500/- which was paid to him and he issued a Cash Memo no. 352 dated 29.10.2010. After the departure of the technician, I saw the MRP written on the box which is Rs. 1295/- whereas I have been charged Rs. 205 excess (over and above the MRP) which is unlawful. I immediately rang up Mr. Ajay but he advised me to contact the Customer Care no. of Airtel for the purpose. I immediately contacted Customer Care but they expressed their inability to do anything and advised me to mail about the issue to nodal.[protected]@airtel.in, [protected]@airtel.in, care.[protected]@airtel.in, care.[protected]@airtel.in which I did.

        I am also attaching scanned copies of the Label on the box with MRP Rs. 1295/- written on it and that of the Cash Memo no. 352 dated 29.10.2010 for Rs. 1500/-

        Through several mails, I have requested Airtel to refund the unlawfully overcharged amount of Rs. 205/- from me immediately failing which I will have no other option but to approach the consumers court at their expenses besides claiming compensation for the inconvenience caused to me, mental agony etc. Despite several mails, no satisfactory response is being received.

        Airtel should adopt fair practices and they should not cheat the customers but follow rules and law prevalent in India. I have sent repeated mails to nodal.[protected]@airtel.in, [protected]@airtel.in, care.[protected]@airtel.in, care.[protected]@airtel and telephonic complaints to Customer care wherein besides attaching the scanned copies of the MRP Label and that of cash Memo, I have reported that I have been charged Rs. 1500/- for the wi-fi Router despite the fact that the MRP printed on its Box is Rs. 1295/- but the issue has not been resolved till now. Such malpractice is not expected from a company like Airtel. I have been told that as per Airtel's policy wi-fi Router worth Rs. 1295/- MRP is charged Rs. 1500/- as per Airtel's policy. I doubt this version as Airtel policies can never be against Indian law. If Airtel (as per their policies) is charging over & above the printed MRP, it is high time to review such unlawful policies to avoid embarrassment at different forums & courts. I will be constrained to approach the relevant Consumer Court for justice and may also release the correspondence to the press, Consumer forums/NGOs, MRTPC/COMPETITION COMMISSION OF INDIA and Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution for appropriate action and compensation in Public Interest.

              I'm using airtel broadband for an year, and I chose Airtel for the best service which it, once, was providing.

              But now, it has been almost 10 days since I made a request to Airtel for plan migration, for which they said it'll be migrated in 5 days.

              But I haven't even had a confirmation call or any kind of response/follow-through from their side till now. I'm fed-up calling up the customer care and hear the same comment, "It is under process and will be done by today," everyday.

              So I called the appellate officer, but shockingly, even he didn't know the status of my request.

              The growing number of customers is making them too frivolous to the requests and grievances of the customers. And now I'm switching to Reliance.

              AIRTEL HAS BECOME TOO CHEAP IN SERVICE AND COSTLIER IN TARIFFS

              So people, please be heedful in choosing the service providers as the companies that were considered great in providing service has now become one of the worst-ever!

                i am suffering by airtel customer care service
                from last 2 months the are not going to provide me my mobile bill (postpaid).
                recently i am working in Mirzapur (u.p.). They are unable to provide me the mobile bills and they are not giving me the satisfactory answer. My billing address is a government office. and they said they are unable to find the office..

                  Airtel has deleted my number [protected] without any notice and with highly improper communication. I am being penalised by Airtel for their poor procedures and their appalling & misleading communication. Further, Airtel has taken my money for a SIM card and for a recharge and has not let me utilise the services I have paid for.

                  The facts below clearly show my attempts to solve my problems with my non-working phone number and the lack of a proper response from Airtel. Many claims are being made after the fact with no explanation of why these were not communicated to me earlier. I contacted Airtel multiple times for help and was not given any of these reasons.

                  Facts
                  ====================
                  1. Mobile number [protected] purchased on 25th August 2010. All documents required by Airtel were submitted.

                  2. Calls have been barred since end of September without any communication whatsoever from Airtel.

                  3. On 2nd October, I contacted Airtel customer service. Airtel customer service claimed that I had locked the phone by mistake. An unlock code was given to me. However, using the unlock code did not fix anything.

                  4. Airtel customer service also indicated that it could be due to low balance. So, I recharged my phone with eRecharge for Rs.360--I still have the confirmation message on my mobile phone. This was in addition to the Rs. 150 or so that was already in my account. This brought my balance to Rs. 500 talktime.

                  5. On 11th October, 18.34 pm, I received the following message from "AD-SERVICE"- [protected]. This is still stored on my mobile phone: "We were unable to verify details of your Airtel number through Telephonic
                  verification. As per Govt.of India directive services on this number will be restricted." Please note that there was no communication from Airtel of WHAT to DO or WHEN to DO it.

                  6. Around the 13th of October, my wife contacted Airtel once more over phone. Again, Airtel customer service claimed that I had locked the phone by mistake. Another unlock code was given to me. However, using the unlock code did not fix anything.

                  7. On 23rd October, I went to the Airtel relationship centre at Indiranagar, Bangalore. This was the first time I was told I had to resubmit the documents.

                  8. On 26th October, I submitted my documents again to the Airtel relationship centre at Indiranagar, Bangalore. The acknowledgement number given for this was K97203.

                  9. On 29th October, I followed up my document submission with phone calls to Airtel. I was told the number had been "deleted" and was "back in circulation". I spoke to at least 5 different people about this issue.

                  10. I finally escalated this to Mr. Madhu at [protected]. He said he would call back within 48 hours. No call was received.

                  11. On 5th November, my wife again tried to contact Mr. Madhu at [protected]. She then spoke to Mr.Vijith, Apellate Officer. He said he would call back by the end of the day. No call was received.


                  ========================================
                  False claims by Airtel and my dispute
                  ========================================
                  On 29th October, we were given the following reasons for deletion by Airtel:

                  1. "Phone verification was not successful. "

                  I strongly dispute this for the following reasons:
                  --> A. I have not been able to receive calls on this number since September and the phone has been in my possession all the time. How and when was this phone call made? It is up to Airtel to provide proof of this.
                  --> B. What was Airtel doing when we contacted them 2 times over the phone. Why was there no mention of verification?
                  In fact, the fact that I made these phone calls proves that I was in possession of the phone.
                  --> C. If this was the case, why did Airtel take my recharge on 2nd October?

                  2. "Documents were not submitted in time."
                  This is highly improper of Airtel, not to mention misleading and fraudulent, to create an arbitrary deadline and not inform the customer.

                  --> A. Why was there no mention of this so-called "deadline" in the SMS received in 11th October, 18.34 pm?
                  --> B. Why was there no mention of this so-called "deadline" when we contacted them 4 times: two times over phone, twice in person at the customer care centre?
                  --> C. Why did Airtel take my documents and issue a receipt at the customer care centre?

                  The resolution I want
                  =========================================
                  I would like Airtel to issue me a new SIM with Rs. 500/- talktime
                  =========================================

                  Please respond to this email by the end of day on 8th-Nov-2010. If I do not hear back from you, I will need to take this up with the government appointed ombudsman and or the consumer court. I will also be posting this on all consumer websites and blogs, as well as contacting various media outlets.

                  While dailing the any BSNL landline No. to my number always says Please check your number you have dailed. Second complaints regarding my topup. In last two three days i cannot recharge my number through etop or through topup.

                  Airtel — Deleted number without any notice

                  Hi,
                  I am Abhishek sarkar. I had gone abroad for few months and didn't my Airtel number during that time. My number was [protected]. Before coming back to India i had recharged an amount of Rs.333 through ICICI netbanking, I had done that before too whenever I used to come back to India so that I can use my mobile as soon as I reach back in India. But when I reached India I came to know that my number was already alloted to someone else. How could that be done without giving any notice to me. During taking the SIM, I had given my passpoer xerox as proof of identity but no one even bothered to even drop a letter at my home address to notify me about deletion of my number and being alloted to some other person who definitely got 333 rupees worth of money free. How can Airtel be so stupid? I definitely had some money left too in my balance plus the 333 rupees, who will pay me that approx Rs 400? Obvisiously Airtel got the money, so you guys wont take any responsibilities. I contacted the Airtel office and they are giving all stupid reasons for that, I even have SIM from Idea and Tata Docomo but I never had this problem. I want my money back. Its such an irresponsible and unethical act by Airtel. and Yes dont push ur blame to any stupid clause of TRAI. How can Airtel allot my number to someone else without even sending me a notice and i lost 400 rupees because of that. I need my money back. Call me at [protected] and rectify the problem asap.

                      Airtel — Non processing of disconnection request

                      Dear Sir/Madam,

                      I had taken an Airtel Broadband connection at my residence. The performance of the connection was not at par with what was promised while selling the connection to me.
                      Unsatisfied with the connection performance, I had written a mail to Airtel to disconnect the service. The mail was written on the very next day to my connection activation date.
                      Since then there has been no activity from Airtel side towards disconnection, but they are continuously sending me bills and payment reminders for the same.
                      I have conveyed my desire to disconnect the connection during several of the customer care calls, but every time instead of taking a disconnection request each time they said that they would remove the technical problem which is creating hindrance with optimal performance of connection.
                      What should be my course of action from here.

                        I had been using a number[protected] for the last five years. Recently about one month before, i had got its plan changed from Post paid to prepaid, by submitting a new set of identity proof and photo. i was asked to submit the photograph and identity again and again, while i was out of station during that period. So i could not submit new set of documents, My services were barred on 30th october, 2010.
                        The dealer of Airtel "AMAN COMMUNICATION SUNAM" refused to forward my request to reactivate the services and asked for 3000Rs as bribe. I have already filed a complaint on phone into nodal office of Airtel at Mohali, but they also refused to give any complaint number and my problem is still unsolved.
                        Kindly take the necessary actions to solve my problem, because i am suffering from big Business Losses due to deactivation of services of my old number.

                          Ishkiyaan Services automatically registered on my prepaid airtel connection. how can they ask for unsubscribe when I dont even subscribe for such service. why should customer dial so so number to unsubscribe when he dont even subscribe for. and after 2 days they are saying thanks for subscribing the service and cut money. what is this .... this is total . I think they want another "thodphod" of their outlets probably. do something now or ready for reactions. ... my number is [protected] thanks

                            I was using airtel broadband, and I have placed a disconnection request on 28 september 2010. After that it was disconnected and I am not using it. My bill cycle was 17 to 16. For the usage of 17 sept 2010 to 28 sept 2010 they generated bill of Rs. 1209 on 17th Oct 2010 and I payed it.

                            Now bill for oct 2010 of Rs 1874 also generated on 19th Oct 2010 and sent to me. But the connection was closed in sept 2010 so how the next bill is generated for me. In Airtel self care account is showing now active but it was closed after my disconnection request and only the bill of Rs 1209 was generated for my usage before disconnection date.

                            Please take care of this isssue ASAP.

                            Airtel Broadband — A BILL after Disconnection

                            Hi,

                            I am a Airtel Broadband Customer # 15319597 recently shifted to new residence and requested to shift my Land Phone & Broad Band Connection on 15th April 2010. Then Airtel wanted us to pay the outstanding for performing the transfer. After doing so, there was no response for couple of days.

                            Later on when we contacted it was a New transfer complaint all-together. Well, they registered and gave a new tracking id. It continued to couple of more days without any response.

                            Finally, during the 1st week of May, when we contacted the Airtel call center, they say that the junction box is 350 meters away from our residence building. We requested for cancellation immediately.

                            Now, comes a Bill #[protected] of Rs. 720 to be paid for a period of 25th April to 26th May.

                            Please suggest me as what can be done with this Greedy act of Bharti Airtel Ltd.?

                            I have got several calls from Airtel that it has been resolved.and all past dues has been corrected to 0. But in selfcare portal it is showing me last month bill dues and account is active. So could you please let me know when it will be corrected. I think your systems are not in sync.

                            As per Airtel presence response I was thinking the issue has been resolved. But, from yesterday I am again getting calls from Airtel for bill due. I got the below mail from airtel yesterday for full and final settelment. I have no dues. I paid all bills regularly. connection is closed in August 2010 and called person is saying bill is for october 2010. He was also saying you can not pay the bill in Airtel Outlet and you have to pay it to the persone which he is sending for bill collection.

                              It is already 5 days since my compliant and i am suprised that you expect me to wait for another 5 days .Inspite of your intervention, I have no visibility yet on when exactly the problem will be resolved. Everyday i get multiple calls from Airtel asking for information about my complaint but they don't give me any visibility on when i will get the resolution.

                              Don't you think your service engineer team being part of the professional organisation need to atleast update me on when they will come to resolve the problem, Your team cannot expect that I will be eternally waiting for them at home.

                              Airtel — worst service and miss lead the customer under the name of various scheme

                              I am having airtel prepaid card with life time validity. On 16th may i recharged of Rs 225/- from ramdeo distributor at kanjurmarg ( retailer name satyam mobile Zone) from following demo no :- [protected].but i received a talk time of RS 75/- only. and when i inquired about remaining Rs 150/- the AIR TEL executive is not giving the proper intimation of the detail amount. I also called on 121 and [protected] a airtel customer care number where they said the scheem is as the same and the charged Rs 150 for 1 year validity where m already having the life time validity i am not getting the brief detail of this transaction, Or the fatisfactory answer from AIRTEL CUSTOMER SUPPORT TEAM.i thing bythis way airtel is missleads the customer.though this is small amount, i will take some cerious action on Airtel for the same. pls do the needful

                              AIRTEL DIGITAL TV — NO SERVICE AND LACK OF ACTION

                              I am a Airtel Digital TV subscriber and have been calling the customer care to upgrade my services for the past 2 months and its just impossible to get thru to the call center and if you do they tell you crap about the channels being added in 2 hours and nothing happens.
                              I have called them dozen times and sms them over 60 times and no response from these liars,


                              I warn all of you please do not use AIRTEL they are just hopeless liars.
                              I agree with you completely here. From past few days I also have not been able to get the top ups activated. Not even a single response from them.

                                  i took airtel postpaid connection in the year 2007 and used that phone for 3 years. in 2010, i found that there were loads of discripensies in the phone bill, for which i contacted airtel office time and again. i also contacted airtel relationship centre where it was found that the discrepensy in the bill was of Rs. 8500/- for which they offered settlement of Rs. 2000/-. i finally settled off with that amount and closed my postpaid account and got it converted to prepaid account. they asked me to submit all the papers again which i did submit in the airtel relationship centre. on 3rd of nov. they disconnected my phone services without any prior intimation. all the incoming and outgoing calls including the calls to airtel complaint services were barred. when i contacted the airtel relationship centre, they told that the papers submitted by me have been misplaced and i have to submit it again. i submitted the papers third time and they promised that my phone will be started in 4 hours, it's already 3rd day, and the phone is not yet started. my complains are:

                                  1. i am a doctor on emergency duty, and in view of diwali and festive season, i am on emergency duty in a rural area. and my phone is inaccessible. inability to be contacted on time may jeopardize the life of lots of people as most of the medical staff is on leave

                                  2. since the papers submitted by me on all the three occasions were official documents, i would like to know their whereabout and the person responsible for loosing it.

                                  3. even if the papers were not available with the verification department of airtel office, they had my address (they sent the phone bill to same address for 3 years), they never bothered to call me or inform me before disconnecting the services.

                                  4. even the facility to contact the airtel complaint number i.e 198 has been barred. so there is no provision to contact them

                                  5. i have given my address and identity proof 3 times and they never bothered to verify it. they arbitrarily disconnected the phone without any verification.

                                  6. i have been using this number this last 3 years and all my patients are having this number. if i change my number from any other service provider, my patients will have no means to contact me.

                                  AIRTEL LIFE PREPAID — ARBITRARY DISCONNECTION

                                  I received a life pre-paid mobile connection ( SIM ) bearing number [protected] from AIRTEL a few years back. For the last 5/6 months I was out of station and could not therefore use the SIM. This "LIFE PRE-PAID" mobile connection, it appears, has been disconnected without giving me any intimation. This is my favourite number and I would, therefore, request you to please restore my connection within a week.

                                  I have been using an airtel number from the last 5 years [protected]. It has been disconnected unauthorized and unnotified 2 months back. when i sent an email to the cust care, i didnt get an reply, and when i called them they said sorry!! thats it. All my bank accounts are linked with that number and I paid for that number. Its not a free number. I want my number back.

[protected] in prepaid as soon as posible. but my one bill is unpaid then he says ki aapko ye bill hum wave off karwa denge, then i am say ok.

                                      15 sept., 2010 i am calling to alok regarding my this no. for converting in prepaid but Mr. alok saying, sir i will give u ur new sim with life time recharge on before 03 nov., 2010.

                                      today 04 nov., 2010 i am just trying to call my this no. then my no. is activated n other person pik up the phone n says this my no. and i am buy last 2 days before. this no. alloted me by my name and address so why using other person without my permission and without my knowledge its totally
                                      frowd.
                                      so please block this no as soon as possible and give me bleary fiction regarding this metter
