I have taken the corporate plan from Airtel and my number got activated on June 28,2013. At that time I was told by one of the Airtel representative that internet usage will be absolutely free for one month’s time. And now I have been charged approx. Rs 600 for internet usage. And the bill has been generated of approx. Rs. 724.42 only for 7 days till July 4,2013. And I am not at all liable to pay this amount as the fault is from Airtel side of making false commitment with the customer.
For the same, I spoke to one of Airtel's representative. He told me that Airtel will compensate Rs 300 of my bill. I would wish to continue using their services, only if they will waive off all of the internet charges that they have made to my bill else I’d prefer to go back to Idea network.
Also, for the next month as well, I received a message from Airtel on July 09,2013at 4:22 PM which states” Mobile internet usage for your Airtel mobile [protected] as on[protected] is approx. 23.59 MB. Charges applicable as per your usage are Rs 241.56”.
Also in month of June while coordinating for this connection, he told me that internet will be free of cost for one month’s time. So, as the number got activated, I was in that impression that internet is free till 28/07/2013 and that is why I kept using internet and suddenly on 09/07/2013 I got one message from Airtel for the amount that has been charged for internet usage. This is completely unacceptable.
While I got this connection, I was told that this would be a corporate connection, with a monthly rental of Rs 199, with 600 free sms per month and free internet. Post which I got my first bill which was unbelievable. I was happy with my prepaid connection and the only reason I agreed to take this post paid connection was to lower down my mobile expenses, however, it looks like am cheated with false promises after I had a word with the customer care department.
I am told that none of the above deals were a part of the plan I have opted for. Also, this isn't a corporate connection either. I do not have 600 sms, neither do I have free internet usage.
This is unacceptable from a reputated brand like Airtel fooling their customers with wrong and false promises. I would appreciate if a waiver can be raised to waive off the charges for the internet use as it was a wrong commitment made to me which I was totally unaware of.
Also i dropped an email to Airtel for the same but there is no response as yet. I have clearly stated to them that If this issue is not sorted out I am willing to approach the consumer court to fight for my rights but there is no way am paying for these illegal charges.
I am mentioning twice a time here, and still my issue is not resolved. Nobody is responding. Its still on the same status.
This time, I would look forward for an appropriate assistance.
