[Resolved]  Indian Railway — Miss management at AC coaches

In all the pantry cars of Indian railway pantry car ,they are nit providing biscuit with tea.The qulity of food is aldo extremely bad.

Subject: ABOUT PASS HOLDER HARRESMENT IN TRAIN IN GUJARAT.

Respected sir,

I am from surat.There is much harresment in train in south gujarat.When we enter in the train and sit on the seat, the pass holder says that this is their coach.so stand up and find another coach.if someone says no i wan't stand up, his wealth would not remain good for future.This harresment is done in early morning train like flying rani, gujarat queen, valsad-vadodra intersity express and many other train during the day.I want to ask u sir that they have bought the train from lalu prasad yadav.we also travel with ticket.we also give full rent for travellng.though we do not get the facility to travel safely.there are too much nusence at the above train i mentioned.even they do not leave the women.they also talk with them in abuse word.This is the extreme limit to the capacity to bear.Sometimes they also says that "faikh do sali ko dibbe ke bahar.tabhi sali ko akkal ayegi."All this i have to say i have said.The remaining is on the rail ministry what they want to do for voat bank.

I am from surat.There is a lot of haressment of pass holder to the common people.These haresment are in flying rani which goes from surat to bombay.When we sit on the seat, they tell us that leave the coach it is ours.if we says no then our health and wealth both will not remain good for the future.these are done in train like gujarat queen, valsad vadodra intersity express and many other train during the day.They even do not leave the woman with children.they talk to them in abused word.sometimes they hit them also.this has happened many times.they says like this."bahar fake do sali ko, tabhi uski akkal thikane ayegi".Is this way to talk to a woman?and we says that our country is safe for woman.I want to ask u sir whether they have bought the train?we also paid same amount for travel as them, then why this kind of justice is done?ek to dibbe cum hote hai upeer se ye log haran karte hai.there should be some solution for this.Augar karna ho to bahot kuch kar sakte hai railway wale par vote bank ke politics se fursad maile tab na?
With due respect we Citizen of India, want to bring in to your kind attention about the problem we faced during the journey from Gorakhpur-Bangalore express on 6/9/08 by train no. . the complaints are as follows-
1- there was lots of nymphs (baby cockroach) in the train. The moment we opened our food packets these nymphs would start appearing from all corners. We could not sleep properly thought the journey.

2- the attendant would not listen to our pleas and instead of helping us ignored the whole matter. We being ladies were too scared to walk up the whole station to reach the guard and file a written complaint.No.B-2.

The complaints are as follows-

Main Sivasagar(Assam) se hoon hamre yahan ka sabse nazdiki railway station Simalguri hai yahan kareeb 17 kilometer door.
Jab main delhi se simalguri aa raha tha toh station par utarte waqt aaple t.c.sahab ne mujhse ticket dikhane ko kaha maine unko ticket dikhaya lekin woh ticket unhone mujhe wapas nahin kiya. maine jab unse ticket maanga toh unhone kaha yeh railway ka niyam ka hum ticket wapas nahi kar sakte.(safar samapt hone ke baad). Uske baad raat ko 2 baje main simalguri se taxi pakadkar sivasagar ja raha tha ki raaste main mujhe police checking mili. unhone mujhse poocha kahan se aa rahe ho toh maine kaha ralway station se.Unhone mujhse ticket dikhane ko kaha lekin ticket toh aapke t.c.sahab ne pehle hi mujhse le kar apne pass rakh liya.mujhe un police waalo ne 2 ghante tak rok ke rakha. Ab mujhe jo pareshani hui hai uska zimmedar kaun hai?

Indian Railway — ILLEGAL COLLECTION BY THE TTE AT KIUL JUNCTION

I HAVE AN MST NO.C[protected]/C[protected]FROM PATNA TO KIUL) ON 4/9/08 A 5 O'CLOCK I WAS STANDING AT KIUL JUNCTION ONE PERSON WITHOUT UNIFORM HAS CAME AND DEMANDING TICKET TO ME.I ASKED WHO ARE YOU "HE SAID I AM TTE THEN I GAVE TICKET TO HIM AFTER THAT HE SAID TICKET IS INVALID BECAUSE YOU HAVE NO SIGNED ON MST NO. C[protected] THAT'S WHY YOU WILL HAVE TO GIVE RS. 1555BUT I SAID I WILL NOT PAY THIS AMOUNT. AFTER THAT CTI HAS CROSSED MY BOTH THE MST & SENT TO ME IN A DARK ROOM WHERE 25 PEOPLE WERE ALREADY PRESENT . AFTER SIX HOUR H'OBLE MAGISTRATE CALL ME WHEN I EXPLAIN ALL THE PROBLEMTHEN HE HAS ORDERED TO LEAVE ME WITH CTI FINE OF RS. 271

I have parcel my motor cycle from Pune to Pathankot on[protected].Still i did not get my motocycle.I have checked several times with parcel deppt. they are saying check with pune railway station.when i asked them for contact number then they said they dont have you have to go pune and check.Sir, you can understand how can i go to pune for checking? So, suggest me something how can i resolve this problem? i am totally frustrated after visiting parcel office so many times.

Dear Sir,

On 3rd October 2008 I travelled to Lucknow vde PNR No [protected], Train No 2331 Class 3A, Seat No 59, 60, 39, 40 from Howrah to Lucknow

The Ac coach was filled with cochoraches and the linen supplied was abolutely dirty. During the day time the coach was filled with excess passengers and hawkers.No body was ther to monitor it.

When I came back on 14/10/2008 in train no 3006 ( Lucknow to Howrah) I found that the compartment had many more passengers than the berths available.The pantry car which is run by IRCTC was charging per cup of tea, in excess.As per the bill given to me a cup of tea is priced at Rs 4.24 where as the waiters were charging Rs 5/ and the pantry car service was simply pathetic.I asked for the compalaint book which their manager named Rajesh refused on the pretext that they dont keep any complaint book.

I really feel that the the railways need lots of improvement and just because it is a monopolistic organisation it is running.

Today 17th Oct 2008, I and many of passengers were caught for travelling using incorrect ticket.
Following are the details
Train No : 2701
Name : HUSAINSAGAR EXP

Kalyan Departure Time : 22:45
Pune Arrival Time :01:20

We have proper ticket from kalyan station of Rs. 43 .

However TC did not accept that ticket saying the train is superfast and Ticket is for normal train.
This was nothing but just frustration after leaving two trains due to lack of seats, finally seating on door steps, travelling after 12pm.

Our question is that...
1. Why it is not written in Ticket itself that it is valid for some trains only.
2. Why it is not announced that the train is superfast.
3. Why there is Huge Fine, specially when we had ticket.
( We were fined for Rs.269... 260 penalty + 9 superfast surcharge)

Five times of ticket price is too much penalty. We can understand if we dont have ticket but we are really upset with the matter at 2.00 night time.


Kindly look into matter and make neccessary changes in ticket system.

I travelled from Madurai to Chennai by Pandian Superfast Express on 18/10/2008 by 3-tier sleeper class. I have few points with respect to recently introduced 3-tier in side berths. I hope Railways take required action to take care of the same.
1. No more sitting is possible in the side lower berth.
2. The middle berth comes right at the middle of the window and hence opening or closing window is a problem. If it is raining, by the time one realizes and closes the window, the lower berth would have got totally wet (I had this experience).
3. Side middle & upper berth hardly get any air from the fan because the window is blocked and is available only to the lower berth
4. Fan & Light switches are not visible and they are behind the middle berth. If one has to operate the same, the passenger in the middle / lower berth has to be disturbed. Imagine a lady sleeping there and you try put on / off light / fan there is every possibility of hand landing up in a wrong place and could cause an embarrassment to all
5. Reaching upper berth is real challenge. Your head will certainly hit the light fitting or fan cover and you cannot help it. Only children below 12 years can sleep in the upper / middle berth.
I really doubt the person who suggested this has ever travelled by train or must be an official who only travel by 2nd or 1st AC compartments. It is horrible. In fact quite a lot of other passengers also shared the same concern and they really go hard on TTEs. What can the poor TTEs do on this?
I request you to evaluate this from the point of passenger convenience and not just from the point of increasing revenue to Railways.

This is regarding harassments done by pass holders.
As I was travelling from Howrah to Dhanbad by train 2311(HWH-KLK Mail) the daily passengers ( Pass holders) occupied the entire reservation coach(S9) and harass each and every passenger including me. Their groups also hit individual passengers who were asking for a place to sit on their own reserved berths. Moreover the TTE(P.N.Singh) favored them and arrived for checking after the go down at Burdawan, As this was not a coincidence because I travel every weekend by this train to Dhanbad and now this kind of behavior is unbearable. safety must be provided to Individual passengers. Railway must be having some policy to treat pass holders.

Dtd. 1st Nov 2008 more than 40 (mostly all wish to go porbandar side) passengers waiting from 11 pm for Saurastra Janta Express down from Mumbai to Porbandar at wankaner station with ticket for travelling.

In the witness of ticketing desk officer, other station duty officers, train last boggy guard, all passengers. Train came & left the plateform nobody pick up the train due to there is no one attend inquiry desk at station, no annoucement, no rang the bell from coming train, no display board, very poor respond by Mr. Parmar and simply unjustified replied that all duties mention in records and they are not responsible etc...He is already at him home for rest in the station so many passengers suffering due to train left already.

When go for lodge the compalain not available carbon paper for three copies in. At inquiry desk no one setting on chair but fan & lights was on since 11 PM to 3 am of 2nd Nove 2008. wastage of electricity, very poor & pathetic respond, no annoucement for any coming or going trains, no display boards working, no bell ringging for coming trains.

Very poor management at wankaner station as on dtd. 1st Nov 2008 to 4 am 2nd Nov 2008. All the matter already registered in complain book at the time.
Respected Sir,
I would like to draw your kind attention to Sardarshahar reservation counter, Distt.-Churu (Rajasthan). The reservation clerk Mr. Mohan Lal Saini is not serving up to the mark. He benefits the persons who give him service fee (bribe).
Sir, according to the schedule the reservation timings is 8:00AM to 12:00PM and 5:00PM to 7:00PM. But the reservation is not done in the scheduled time. The counter is closed from 8:00AM to 9:15AM and 5:45PM to 7:00PM. When asked the clerk says that due to arrival of train the counter is closed. In such situation the counter is opened only for four hours instead of six hours. In these four hours the counter is closed and they say the server is down. But there is no restriction for those who pay service fee.
I submitted my reservation form dully filled on 30-10-08 at 5:55PM. After accepting the form the clerk said that it is time of the arrival of the train and come on 7:00PM. The arrival time of the train is 6:15PM. When I requested at 7:00PM he told me that it is time for closing the counter. When I should him my Consumer-VOICE card he reserved my ticket at 7:16PM. At that time 5 or 6 person (service fee gives) were sitting inside the counter. And there were no rules and regulations for them. The date and time on my reservation form is 30-10-08 and 5:55PM while the issued ticket shows 30-10-08 and 7:16PM. My ticket PNR No. is[protected] and issuing time is 7:16PM.
Sir, there is no name plate and dress plate on the station. So the consumers feel inconvenience in knowing the names and designations of the employees.
Sir, the change is never returned to the consumers. When consumer asks for the change they tease them without any reason. You are requested to regularize the employees to do their duty as per rules and norms. Please also regularize to work for the scheduled time the reservation clerk. Please also confirm to wear the name plate and dress plates so the consumer may feel relieved.

Indian Railway — Inappropriate Accomodation

We, three, were told that our Tatkal reservation had been confirmed and we had been given accomodation in compartment S-9 under Tatkal reservation. The coach for disabled had been marked as S-9 and the chart mentioning our names pasted outside.

Indian Railways — parking space made shops

There was huge place to park in st.thomas mount station. But now all those people who have taken contract in railways have constructed huge hotels and other shops in the places provided by you for parking. So the passangers are facing huge difficulty in finding a place a place to park. Kindly make arrangements to clear the shops and re-allot the places for the given purpose. I will be greatful if you respond to this immediately. All the other passangers are planning to make a train blockade because of this problem.

Sub. Complaint against wrong penalty & mental harassment

Sir,
I was trawled by train no. 6340 MUMBAI EXPRESS from KODAI ROAD TO CSTM (MUMBAI) by ticket pnr no.[protected]. My wife DINAL & son Parthik were with me. My ticket was from MADURAI JUNCTION TO MUMBAI CSTM but we changed our boarding from madurai to kodai road.
As per our ticket we boarded from kodai road in the presence of Mr. TC & vigilance officer Mr.ARNAPUTTAM.Vigillence officer Mr.Aranaputtam wished to check our E ticket & after that he asked for driving license.I submitted my driving license for checking purpose to him. Driving license was attested by honorable magistrate of Surat city. But I was shocked when he told me in roudly way that I was without ticket & he had a power to cancel my journey & also powered to call railway police to throw away my bags outside the train. Under pressure Rs. 4420.00 was paid against penalty. How he calculated penalty that we don’t know.After so many requests both officers did not give me their names & batch nos..I had original E ticket & driving license at the time of journey. Also note that after checked driving license Mr.Aranaputtam wrote my license number on penalty receipt.
So many requests did by my family & other passengers but there was no response by Mr.Arnaputtam.When I asked to TC & vigilance officer for their batch nos. & full name they didn’t give me. At EROD JUCTION they left the train like thieves & told me “We know we were wrong but we show our power to you. Now we see what you will do”
After EROD JUCTION an aged TC Mr.Mani took a charge and we asked for complaint book he told me to register my complaint at Mumbai cstm after finished my journey. So we registered it at Mumbai cstm on 12/11/2008 with Xerox copies of driving license, penalty receipt & E ticket were attached with complaint.
Also note that we saw our all papers to deputy stn.master of Mumbai cstm Mr.YADAV before submit my complaint.
I request you to refund the amount of wrong penalty. Hope for kind & prompt action.
