[Resolved]  Indian Railway — Auto cancellation of W/L e-ticket

Hi,

This is really surprising policy of indian railway where the the wait-list e -ticket will be automatically cancelled after chart preparation. At the last moment when you are hoping for best, if the odds are against you...you might be without ticket in minutes. When e-ticket facility is given for passenger easiness and make them comfortable with the use of latest technology, Lot o[censored]s are suffering bad side of this. Thanks to Indian railway. I strongly feel this policy should change, and an alternative solution has to be provided. Because suppose we are getting W/L 10 by internet booking, we are hoping it will get confirmed after chart preparation...but surprised to see if it not confirmed we are without ticket as ticket is automatically cancelled.

I urge INDIAN RAILWAY to please consider this policy and change it soon by using latest and managed softwares for people who don't have other choice rather that travelling on same day at any condition.

I am still surprise that neither a single officer or administrator had reviewed the policy nor come in front to helps passengers of indian railway.
What happens to to a e-ticket waitlisted on a PNR while the other ticket on the same PNR
gets confirmed. How will the refund happen for the waitlisted ticket. My wife travelled on the
confirmed ticket on 29th Oct 2009 while my brother couldn't as his seat was still showing waitlisted.
How to get the refund. I am try to find the policy on this from railways but unsuccessfull.
the automatic cancellation is a very good idea. it discourages people frm travelling on waitlisted tickets thus ensuring that people with valid tickets have a comfortable and crowd free journey.

We are currently having the same situation. Tomo 24 my brother n bhabhi are comin from ludhiana. we booked e'ticket one and half month ago with waitlist no 30-31 n yesterday 22nd of dec, d waiting no is 1-2 . just now i checked it n its stil 1-2 now we dont understand whether to cancel it or to wait for it to get cleared, if we wait n dont find alternative, in case of non clearance of waitlist, they wnt b able to travel. there is actualy no use of booking before 1 and half months. n in case of it not gettin cleared, passengers cant even board on train. Someone plese explain our Rail Authority for this kind of mis managed system.

I have reserved my ticket on 17/10/09 NDLS to JBN which sataus was waiting-21, at the time of departure I called on 139 for my status there but it was unconfirmed. Again I asked to TT But same result found. then I gone to have a general ticket to travel. But at the time of refund no response getting.

I just want to confirm my eticket status.why 139 no any status shown at the time of the train departures.

indian railways no refund after 4 years — no refund after 4 years

a. refunds of waiting list ticketspnr nos.[protected]/18924732, 2nd ac 2-06-07 jodhpur ahemedabad

b. pnr nos[protected] and[protected] tier ac ticket refund not given till date.
Auto Cancellation should be removed. It is not fair to cancel a ticket with out the concern of the ticket holder.

The ticker holder may want to continue the journey in General compartment with the same W/L ticket.

This should be allowed.

Indian railway ticket — Refund of ticket

Dear sir,

I had booked i ticket with PNR nos. [protected] on 18/1/2009
I have not recieved hard copy of above ticket from courier by 22/1/2010
which is the date of journey.
I have received male from [protected]@irctc.co.in on 21 /1 2010 that saying we are not able to deliver ticket.

I have visited Karmali ( GOA ) Station for concellation of Ticket .
But they claim that since i am not having HARD copy ticket they cannot cancelled the ticket .


I have taken duplicate ticket on 21/1/2010 from Karmali ( GOA ) Station by claiming i have lost the ticket .
Next day i visited Sawantwadi Railway station ( boarding station ) for cancellation of ticket . They also claim that since i am not having HARD copy ticket they cannot cancelled the ticket .
I have ask for Surrendering the I-Ticket with the Station Master and obtain a Ticket Deposit Receipt . They reject the claim saying i am not having HARD copy origanal ticket .

I am asking for REFUND OF i ticket with PNR nos. [protected]

I have sent mail previously also , No reply has been received .

Kindly GO through my complaint ,

& communicated me the same about status .

Or direct me to corresponding higher authority.

Respected sir, I Mr.Murlidhar Ramawat, retired mail guard from mumbai division 1996, arrers received in two parts as per the govt rule, for first time i have received amount for the 40% that too less as per the calculation, and for the second time i have received 60% again that was less as per the calculation, my details are as follows

Railway Reservation System — Someone Misuse Railway ticketing System

Dear Sir,

My Wife had book a ticket form karkarduma railway reservation,on[protected] PNR No.[protected] on ticket current W/L4, Train 2215. Travelling date is[protected]

we regulary check status on site http://www.indianrail.gov.in/
first it show RAC12 then RAC6 then RAC4 then RAC3 then RAC1 and on[protected] the status show confirm but chart not prepared.

On[protected]:30 I check berth but it show W/L12. How it is possible W/L4 become W/L12 ? I think some one missusing Railway Reservation System. So. I want to punish that person and provide me compensation also because I have given Cancelation Charges 20/- also.

I have all document regarding this issue like ticket potograph, Cancilation ticket, photo of List display on display board, and complain letter which I written in DEE Station Master office, Delhi

Indian Railways — train was late by 2 n 1/2 hrs.

the this is regarding train 2533 pushpak express.

the train was late by 2hr on 21 march. this was happend because there was three times chain pulling done by some people. and there was a problem created on near unnao staion train was stoped 1hr. on track. and train was came mumbai. 2hr. late

please take action on this with immediate effect.

Regarding railway e ticket — cancel the e ticket

i forgot my user id and password and i have also entered an incorrect mail id in my IRCTC profile. please help me to cancel my e-ticket as soon as yo can as my travel is scheduled on 22nd april. waiting for ur help and support as soon as i can.

Why guys your blaming Railway on this...?
You are not planning your journey very late...Railway is not responsible for that...Even if you have planned 2 days before the journey you have the option of Tatkal...and you still blame Railway...More over railway is doing good by automatically cancelling the ticket and getting you 100%...

about the railway return ticket — not giving the return ticket

Hi there,
Our family traveled from thiruninravur to arakkonam by local EMU train and our ticket number is[protected]. We asked for return ticket and the counter clerk was refused to give return ticket.

we wonder that such a prestigious indian railway is not giving return ticket to arakkonam. why and what is the reason? If there is a problem kindly let us know the same and try to improve the system.

let me share you my worst experience. I booked an e-ticket for Dehradun in January 2010 for journey in March 2010 in Kochchuveli-dehradun express. My initial status was WL 08 and at the moment of chart preparation, it was wl 01. it was really a hard luck that for only 1 wait listing, my ticket was cancelled and i had to travel in general for 03 long days...
