On[protected], we booked 4 tickets PNR number[protected] from Bhopal to Nagpur in Kerala Express for journey on[protected]. Although more that 100 berths were available on that date, we were allotted berth Nos. 8, 16, 24, and 32, that is, in 4 different coupes, and all upper, although one of the passengers is a 77 year old lady. Could anyone please let us know why?

    MY PARENTS WHO ARE SENIOR CITIZEN WERE TRAVELLING BY SWANTRATA SENANI (TRAIN NO 2561) ON 01/01/2009 FROM DARBHANGA TO NEW DELHI IN AC COACH (A- 1).
    BIRTH NO 25 AND 27 (PNR NO [protected])
    MY MOTHER'S HAND BAG WAS STOLEN INSIDE THE TRAIN AT NIGHT. IN THE MORNING SHE COMPLAINED TO TRAIN ATTENDANT AND TTE(MR. UPADHYAYA) BUT THEY DIDNOT REGISTER THE COMPLAIN .
    1.IF THEFT CAN OCCUR IN AC COACHES WHAT COULD BE THE STATUS OF GENERAL COACHES.
    2.WHY SHOULD WE PAY FOR AC COACHES WHEN THERE IS NO SECURITY EVEN IN AC
    COACHES.
    3. WHY COMPLAIN WAS NOT REGISTERED INSIDE THE TRAIN.

    Respected sir,
    I am biswajit ghosh, i went to bhubaneswar on 02/04/2010, i am unenploye, when i reach to the station, i known that there is no train for going to puri, after some time i listine that one late train is arriving platfrom number 4. that is rourkella puri passanger train, also ask to the RPF, sir is it to late night TRAIN is there any problime? the said no u can go easly, after some time at the khurda station i take tee from IRCTC agent, but i lost my money 50000, mobile3220, chargers, my numbers is [protected], my question is that where is our safty at night train? why they Rpf/ Railway staff no asked that an unsensable persion wherw are you craing and what happen? i know everythinh is vain, nothing happen anything, but one thing where is passanger scequarty at night? why orissa police not accept my complane? why he said to and lodge comoplane dairy either bhubaneswar or khurda station? how shall i get right judgement? either sucide or suffering?

      Railway publicises day in and day out that 139 is all purpose customer care number and all information will be available from all party of the country. However, I have have tried this number twice and on both occasions, I did not get a desired information and I was asked to contact the railway station.

      The first instance was that I wanted to known the running status of a particular train and when it is likely to reach Vadodara. The answer was to contact the Railway Station.

      The second instance when I was trying to book a ticket through internet (Train No.6312-Trivandrum-Bikaner-on 28-Mar-09) I was getting a message that 'reservation suspended'. On checking the same with 139 he also confirms that the reservation is suspended, but unable to tell the reason and when will it resume. Here also I was asked to contact the Railway Station.

      Added to the woes of the general pubic is that, subsequent to commissioning of 139, the local railway station helpline number which used to be 131 is discontinued with the result that the travelling public has to reach the railway station to find out any late running of trains!!

      Will this be brought to the notice of authorities?
      I was a passenger in the BBS Rajdhani Express(Trn No. 2443) on 03 October 2008 from Balasore(BLS) to New Delhi(NDLS). The PNR number was [protected]. My mother was also with me in the same train. If the coach of the train is compared with other general trains coach there was hardly any difference will be found. The food quality is so bad that it is shame to describe. The number one train in indian railway but there is no difference between this Rajdhani and the other general train. When we had asked for service book the employees of IRCTC who were serving said that the service book was not with them. If the railway administrator are not able to take necessary steps to make the train as Rajdhani status, then at least stop charging extra fare to common people for Rajdhani train facility. I hope Indian Railway administrators are matured enough and will take necessary steps for avoiding such type of complains.
      More than 40 psgrs( childs, ladies, aged persons, mix profile ppls) waiting since 11 pm for Saurastra Janta Express at wankaner station as on dtd. 1st Nov 2008 go for porbandar side with their own ticket for different stations. For Train timing inquiry desk no body take care on duty. Instead of it fan & lights on wastage of electricity. Train already came & left the plateform on which number no one passenger known & waste them time, money & suffering by very poor & pathetic management.

      due to not annoucement, not board display, not coming / going trains bell ring, no one on duty at inquiry desk, even not attending on duty station master also at the time of suffering, those all passengers suffered a lot station master Mr. Parmar taking rest at home.

      When go for lodge the complaint in book not even carbon avail in three copies of complain book. all this in details complaint already mentioned in book. Whom are responsible for suffered they all passengers?

      Investigate the complaint booked as on dtd. 2nd Nov 2008 at wankaner station which under rajkot district in western side of gujarat state.

      Very poor & pathetic management. Very poor & un justified respond by Mr. Parmar at station duty time.

      sir i every day traveling from bavla to ahmedabad and ahmedabad to bavla.in morning train departure time is 8.25 but train is arrived bavla between 8.30 am to 9.15 am.
      the train per day late for his actual time.in ahmedabad i am doing job and my job timing is 10 am and per day i am reach ahmedabad between 10am to 10.30 am. sir bavla to ahmedabad destination is 33 km and our local train take time 1to1.5 hour to complete destination.this is not only my problem this is problem of every people who is doing job and also students are having in this problem. dear sir so pls do some about this matter because we young people are want some time for enjoy doing our daily work not just to waist time in train.pls think from bavla to ahmedabad and ahmedabad to bavla complete the jorney we are waisting time 3 hour.

      1.train has been not washed from outside it was dirty & unhyginic to the passenger.
      2.there were no booge number (i.e. s-1, s-2, ...) .

      indian railway services — poor online reservation

      i would like to make complaint against inidna railway reservation. poor maintiance of all websites named like IRCTC and zonal railways reservation which is forced on only one website and so it is delaying to connect and poor connectivity and difficult to make a reservation when we using the website even sometime like pongal and festive season. even some time it shows the deleted stations and poor website maintiance and no updated details in the website.

      Indian Railways/Rajdhani Express — Rajdhani express Money taken from service people

      Respected Sir,

      on 30th Jan 09 Self was traveking via Rajdhani express from Ernakulam to Margao via 3AC coach and was surprised to see that People who provide the services ( people who serve food and also who give bedding ) were asking tip from every one, including from all foreign passengers.

      Its a shame for railways who claim of making excess funds does not know how to use it,

      There is no responsible person take charge for our complain. They pass away our complian to other head in railway department. So Railway tourism open call centre for complain online when we are travelling. So Solve our problen at any station.

      when 12 compartent was in train peoples was travaling had uncomfortable. now yet only 8 compart in train.
      now you should think how to people journey in this summer.so i request you do something in favour of this route passanger.

      Note:In this route if the problem is of fare you should advise to your TT to check every one's ticket.
      because i am traveling in train since 6 month and i had face TT only one time.
      Dear Sir,
      Please take some serious action against the unreservation compartment, because i have seen most of the time to reserve seats people try to push themselves and those who enter first and occupy their seats start fighting from outsite those who are putting bottels, bags, towels to reserve their seats from window and this argument continues for very long time which causes disturbance for others till the journey.
      If we call Customer Care and enquire about "Reservation Suspended", they should be able to provide that information instead of merely directing us to contact the railway station. Or whenever there is a message online saying that the reservation is suspended, there should also be a message stating when it is likely to be resumed
      This complaint is about the train 2RNT from Rewari to Tilak Bridge. Generally before interlocking recently taken place at Rewari, this train was general reaches its destination about 9:30 but now the train is generally arriving at approx. 10:00 AM. The daily commuters are day by day being harrassed by the Indian Railway Authorities but nobody takes care about that.

      If the train comes at its right time, either at Daya Basti or at KishanGanj or at New Delhi or surroundings, the train is being deliberately delayed but no Railway Authority takes care about this.

      This train earlier comes through the Sarai Rohilla main platform but now it comes through the Kirti Nagar area, this further delay the train.

      I, on behalf of passengers hereby states that so many complaint letter has been sent but no action is being taken by the Railway Staff. The goods train are more preferred than this train as it was confirmed by the Driver.

      I hereby asks the following questions :

      1. Is there any control of the Railway Authority on this train or not. If yes, then why this train is delayed deliberately and being harrassed to the daily passengers.

      2. Who is responsible for this delay and why the strict action has not been taken by the Railway Authority to these employees? Due to there attitude only, this train is deliberately delayed?

      3. Who is the appropriate authority to control this train? Why the action on many complaint has not been taken as yet. The facility like interlocking, conversion into the broadgage is for providing better facility or for further harrassment to the commuters/passengers?

      Kindly look into this matter otherwise the things may be serious, because the dissatisfaction in daily passenger is increasing day by day.

      My mother plan to travel from Villivakkm to Puttur by Passanger Train which cost on Rs.17 in Morning
      5.40 Am. So i took ticket in Smart Card Machine from Villivakkam to Tirutani ( Rs.12 ) and
      i asked ticket counter ( only one counter was opened ) to issue the ticket from Tiruttani to Puttur, but he said there is no possibility to issue the ticket and he saying you have to take the ticket in tiruttani only.
      I had long argument with him, but he never check in the Computer and saying
      that kind of facility everything stop 6 months before.
      I told him my past travellings like

      I) Every week i am travelling from villivakkm to puttur, so usually i will take ticket in villivakkm station like from villivakkm to perambur by electric train and from perambur to puttur by express train.

      II) 2 months back i travelled from Puttur to Perambur by express train and from Perambur to Villivakkam
      by electric Train. The train ticket everything taken in Puttur station only.

      Blindly he refused to give the ticket.

      Finally my mom dropped in tiruttani and from there she went by bus.

      My Suggestion:-

      The Smart Card is very useful but we can take the ticket certain station only.
      Also they kept 2 machine in every important station. Why don't they keep one machine
      to provide the ticket to any station all over india or south region.

      So decided to book the complaints and my Suggestion in this wedsite as Most of the High Officers will view and take the action.

      There is lot of improvements needs to be implemented in railways in all aspect of services.


      ALL these complaints are belonging to both side Western Railway & Central Railway

      1. There is no proper announcement of trains (arrival & departure time)
      2. Inquiry about arrival/departure time should be allowed local to the cities. Local no should be provided. Existing service is complicated (to get single inquiry, like press 1 for so, 2 for so likewise). Railway employee is not properly trained & sometime not picking up the phone.
      3. Stations are not cleaned as it should.
      4. Fans are not sufficiently installed. Sitting arrangements also worst.
      5. Platforms are leakage in rainy season.
      6. General compartments are not sufficient linked with long route trains(max 2-3 only)

      Why can’t increase capacity of engines & connect 2-3 more general compartments
      7. RPF also not doing their duties properly.


      TO OVERCOME THESE entire PROBLEMS (LISTED FEW ONLY) RAILWAY SHOULD RUN BY PRIVATE ORGANISATION.

      I travelled in Dhule Dadar Passenger connect to Amritsar Express from Dhule to Dadar on[protected]. Absolutely there is no difference between the reserved passengers and ticketless travellers. The railway ticket checker doesnt seem to act about it.
      The ticketless travelers continue to disturb fellow passengers by roaming inside the train frequently, sitting in a place where a reserved person is sleeing, unruly comments on fellow passengers, talking the whole night louder and so on..

      I could not even give a complaint against that person because there is no evidance that he is travelling in that coach.

      This could lead to untoward incidents and they could not track the person responsible for it. It could be theft or nuisance to fellow passengers or anything that could lead to disaster.

      If this continues, the indian railways will loose the confidence of public and citizens would prefer a different mode of transport.

      Also the ticket checker collect a handsome amount for that unreserved travellers and goto AC compartment they doesnot care for reserved travellers please take action against all the ticket collector.

      Thanks for your special train services ... there was one request, at most of all places you have given a good services of special train but there were no special trains from ahmedabad to kerala.
      Please take this matter seriously and once more i request to give special train services to kerala side.
      i hope that you will take the early decision .

      One request to you instead of announcing new train...plesae look into the services of existing specially for Sealdah North Division...there is no timing at all...do not know when reach destination...Also requesting to start local train from Dumdum...there is a pathetic condtion to cath any train from there during office time

      Railways — bad service

      3006 DN Amritsar Mail on 24.10.2010 was late initially by 12 hrs in Lucknow, then ultimately it reached Howrah at 12.30 am on 26.10.2010 when it should have arrived at 6.30 am on 25.10.2010. In 2AC (A1), rats were running here and there.Catering staffs got down at Jhajha, so no food was there uptill 12.30 at night. The journey from Lucknow to Howrah was a nightmare for all o[censored]s.
      WHO IS GOING TO TAKE THE RESPONSIBILITY.

      We had travelled on last 8th marcht 2011 in your indore pune express the contion in the sleeper class was sooo worst we are suffer from food poisoing after that .
      As in that compartment there is lots of rats and cockroches .Any Body either they had purchase the local class ticket they came to sleeper class and ocuppy
      our seat and fight the they had the reservation .Please Check and do some thing for the safety of sleeper class people.

      wale mahman dubara indore na aane ki baat tak kahte hai.

      jis ki durdasha is baat se lagai ja sakti thi ki woh kitni saaf rahi hogi jiski diwaron par cchote cchote cocroche chal rahe the or seat puri hil rahi thi hamare vishva ke sabse bada mana jane wala rail network kis haal main hain yeh dekhkar bahut dukh hota hai.

      Hello Sir /Madam,

      I am fed up with the central railway's services.kalyan station is surrounded by no. of problems.No proper toilet facility ,unhealthy food stalls , local- express train's passengers mixed crowd ,AND from last four year no additional Kalyan Local train in morning session .I would request you to please Look in to the following issues:

      1)ADDITIONAL TRAIN NEEDED BETWEEN 9.30AM TO 10.15AM.
      2)TOTALLY SEPARATE PLATFORM TO EXPRESS PASSENGERS.
      3)SEPARATE ENTRY FOR EXPRESS TRAIN PASSANGERS.
      4)PENALTY IF EXPRESS PASSANGERS COME TO LOCAL TRAIN AREA.
      5)APPOINT RAILWAY STAFF TO MAINTAIN DESICIPLINE IN PLATFORM AREA.

      me traveled in hubli to banglore past passanger on 20/5/2011 @ 8.45 pm . staff working in ticket counter not working properly me asked him to give properly for thathe start scolding me in counter in worust laungage and giving dhamki to me then me went to give complant on him to station superident but he also support him start to blame me and depart and they said we cant give survice ur money . finaly they not given complaint book to fill. so pls instruct them to behave properly with passanger
      railway dwara driver (ALP) ka job ka form nikala gaya hai. mera exam 3 aug ko khatam hua hai. agr board 1 month form ka date badha de to sabhi new iti exam dene wale isme baith payenge. bihar ke mukhyamantri dwara 45 dino me har exam result nikalne ke liye kaha gaya hai. agar board bhi hamari madad kre to ham log bhi exam me baith payenge..

      Cleaning and poor maintenance, rats and cocroches in the coaches

      We were travelling by Haripriya Express on 5th Jan.2012 from Tirupati to Kolhapur AC- Coach A-1 seat no. 37 to 40 . We found very horrible condition of AC coaches. These coaches were full of cocroches and many rats..!!! These insects were in toilets also...!!!

      It is really very horrible and serious matter for an Indian Railway...It is Indian Railway's responsibilities and duty to keep clean and clear the harmful insects .

      Hope my complaint will be taken seriously.

      Dear Sir,

      Now a days irctc.co.in is so slow in the morning 8-9am. Than I am not even able to open the website page.
      It is impossible to book the tatkal tickets. Because by the time website starts opening, It is already waiting list.
      So probably only for the benefits of agents, the website is intentionally blocked by the railway people.
      It is not strange to beleive this being a part of this pitiable and cursed country of corrupt people.

      I dont have much hope but still if possible improve the online booking procedure.

      I have very bad expereince of Indian railway iwas travelling from Basti to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus in Kushinagar Express Train no 11016. I was in S9 coach I was wondering that i was in sleeper coach or unreserved coach there were passenger in train but more than that there was a lot of local vendor in train they really harrass But train pantry vendor also harass very much but more than that there was no water in toilet in S8 S9 S10....more coaches i tried a lot to get complaint book but every one sent me on other department but on itarsi station i talked to Station Supritendent but he also fooled me i was in hurry train left station but what about passenger for what reason railway i s charging us to get harrased in long journey after all eunch also take money forcibily from passenger and if you dont pay they do vulgur acts in front of your family are we developing nation please try Explain me Railway Authority and Railway Minister this not new thing this regular activity daily ther food offered by pantry service is filty they are health hazardous they charge Rs 15 for mineral water ,Rs 5 for tea which cant be drink,Rs 15 for mango sip why we should pay more have passengers had done crime by travelling in Indian Railway .please please do some thing.Cant railway Be Facelifted

        Respected sir,

        I would inform you that, I omprakash verma, purchase a ticket from booking clerk, for DILDARNAGAR JUNCTION to PATNA, After that i got a train for PATNA.When the train arrive for patna, that time Ticket cheker, cheque my ticket and fine charged on me Rs. 259.
        sir, what my fault here, incase of, I have already purchased ticket.

        TICKET CHEQUER: told me that, this is a super express train,

        I want to say that, If "SUPER EXPRESS" train was standing on the platform then, why should booking clerk given me "EXPRESS TRAIN" ticket. and I also want to know that, what a different between SUPER EXPRESS TRAIN & EXPRESS TRAIN.How people visually distitnguish it.

        (Note- I also given written complain at patna juction, complain no.464/27.12.2008/18.30, But I dont get any responds till now.)

        The Railway Minister,

        I got a ticket from tirupathy to erode in general. Due to heavy rush, i forced to get into the reservation coach. TTR asked me and charged 320.00 rupees fine and extra fair. but the ticket only of 70.00 in general. Even the reservation coaches are all free so only i got enter into reservation but treating of ttr and special squad persons were cant explain. i kept my ticket safe till now, so kindly tell me the procedure for enter into reservation and penalty charges. My suggestion is to kindly get the penalty charges based on the actual ticket and as a tax payer why i given to money to some persons like ttr and special squads unnecesserily. kindly do mthe favour.

          With due respect we Citizen of India, want to bring in to your kind

          attention about the problem faced during the journey from Gonda to

          Badshahnagar. on 31/12/2008 by train Gorakhpur Lucknow Intercity Express. Following

          trouble we faced in AC Chair Car Coach

          I visited Gonda Jn to drop my sister who is travelling from Gonda to Lucknow and she purchsed a General Ticket as due to some urgent reason she is forced to catch the morning train and no time left to get the reservation,
          as the train arrived i went to Mr. HS SINGH TTE of CC coach for help as she had general ticket and travelling in CC their are some vacant seats so i asked him to please charge the difference and make the ticket he denied to do so, am very eager by his behaviour when am requesting as my sis is travelling alone with her childrens and the TTE is not ready to cooperate and when the train start moving as the stoppage is of only 5 mins, TTE said i will throw her out from the running train,
          finallly am not going with her and i stopped at the Gonda junction and when MR HS SINGH get in to the train she start misbehaving with her and start moving her luggage out of the coach,
          suddenly she started crying and the pessengers around her said ma'am pls sit here these seats are VACANT,
          after having vacant seats in the train MR HS SINGH denied to make the ticket and also said very uncommon words to the lady who is travelling alone.
          I heartly request to you sir pls help me out as this is absolutely above social culture and not to be practised at all...

I suggest, seriously you all should also form a mob culture on the train and start beating these TTEs up else they will continue abusing fellow passengers like politicians do to citizens. It has to start with us! So much of mob culture, so why not on wheels...???

          A similar incident happened with my wife when she was travelling via coimbatore to Bangalore on[protected] by Kanyakumari-Bangalore Express. She didn't have a confirmed ticket and travelling in SL class. A TTE forcebly sent her out at midnight and she was unable to catch that train. She had submitted a complaint with Coimbatore Station Manager. These low grade TTEs always behave like that. North, east, west or south.

            Dear Sir

            This is to inform you that the Dadar footh bridge (East to West) is full of hawkers whether it be early in the morning or late in the evening that too they are sitting on both sides. All the entry passages to platform have been closed for security reasons that is fine but the load of passengers have increased due to only few entry and exit positions over an above that these hawkers. Earlier some police used to take action some days but they do come back and now they are in great numbers. Can somebody please look into this matter. This is serious also taking in account the recent terroist attacks as these places are getting over crowded and there can be a stampade.

            Would request you to if someone could please look into the matter

                I was having the reservation from Bhopal to Raipur in Train Number 2410, dated 26th Dec, 2008, morning 2:15am. My reservation status was RAC 12 & when i reached at the platform the status instead of decreasing, it got raised to WL3. It was really shocking & trouble some to travel in night with such unexpected happening. Whom to complain with... How to get resolve this problem. There is no one who can take care of this or to listen about it. I was traveling with my family...!!! & it was a bad experience... What is this all going...!!!

                Moreover, I was having the reservation of 3 passenger. The traveling status was as follows:
                Psgr 1 - WL3
                Psgr 2 - WL3
                Psgr 3 - WL4
                How same waiting to two different passenger...???

                Earlier the same happened with my brother in law an year back when he was traveling from Delhi to Baroda. & from his reservation status of WL1 it becomes WL12.

                What all this happening...Can anyone can answer..!!!

When I checked the day before the journey, the status shown on the website was PQWL 132. Could any one explain how does booking status changes with the time?                 i was having the reservation from new delhi to sirsa in train no.4519(sirsa express)seat was also confirmed recently in august(2 times)
                bt when i board the trian, what i m seeing reserved coach was there but it seems like a general coach.no seats for the guys who reserved their seats in advance by paying extra reservation charge to railway, to be assure of getting seat(seat is confirmed)but quite horrible to see,

                *one more imp thin, tt was also nt present there for our assistance & not came in 2s compartment, not even once for ticket checking,

                *raiway's taking thier charge for reservation bt no services are there
                i think u have to take sme actions now or never its upto u

                  I had to travel from Pune to Bharuch on Train no.1050 on[protected]. I have booked a Tatkal ticket on the train. My Train missed due to wrong information given on Enquiry no.139. It was told on 139 that Train was late by 55 minutes but train was actually on right time. My family (Wife & 8 months Old child) and I have to face a lot of inconveneneince. I have to travel by bus on[protected].
                  Some more passengers also missed the same train from Pune due to the same reason. I have filed a formal complaint with the Dy. Station Superintendent and get the signature of the co-passenger (PNR No.[protected]).

                  Full refund of my ticket along with compensation of Rs.30, 000 may be given due to inconvenience caused to me my wife and 8 months old child.

                    There is very strange pattern of Indian Railway officials for providing stopages of any trains. The earnings at HODAL (NCR) IS more than triple the earnings at CHHATA(NCR) station but the stopages are more at CHHATA than HODAL. will concern authority explains the requirements for stopage of any train.
                    The stopage of Mumbai janta exp. 9024/9023 has been approved way back in year 1995-96 but till date it has not provided . This is due to ignorance and not having any link in railway and we are the sufferer.Pl. see and if possible, help us

                      Dear Sir,

                      This is to bring in your kind notice the brutal treatment meted out to me by the TTE of Godan Express. I am describing my nightmarish journey experience on 13.12.2008 hoping you will take stern action against the concerned TTE.

                      On 13th Dec 2008, I boarded on Train No 1060 (Godan Exp) from Azamgarh on Berth No S12-64 (PNR No-[protected]). My brother also accompanied me with waitlist ticket W43 (PNR No-[protected]) which moved to RAC RS11-39.at the time of preparation of chart. Before Janghai Station my brother approached TTE to confirm if any vacant berth can be allotted to him. My dear TTE very rudely replied “Just go and sit on your seat, no berth is available”. Seeing his indecent behavior my brother was shocked. TTE could have told same thing in a better way if not in a respectable manner. Any how my brother still maintained his patience, and requested him if he will not mind telling his name please (Plz note TTE was not wearing his Badge). This I presume irritated TTE and he said “My name is R.S Yadav, now go away and do whatever you can”. My brother returned to me and just told me that the berth is not available. Just at the same time passenger standing in front of my berth having RLWL 115, 116 tickets said that he is shifting to S7-34, 36 as he had got confirmed berth. I was surprised how WL 115, 116 can be confirmed and no berth is available for WL 43. Then that individual disclosed that he has paid approx Rs 800 to get those 2 berths. This time I approached TT with request to confirm my brothers berth (if available). Once again TTE very rudely said “Abhi tumhara bhai aaya tha aur ab tum, bola na seat nahi hai, chup chap ja kar apni seat par baith jao, usko toh apna naam bhi bata diya hai jaao jo karma hai kar lo”. I was surprised at the indecent approach of TTE. Even if berth was not available, he could have told me in a better manner. I simply asked him Sir how come WL 115, 116 & 139 (this waitlist ticket was also confirmed) be confirmed and no berth is available for WL 43. I am quoting his abusive way of talking (“Sale Tu kaun hota hai mujhse poochane wala ki maine kaise berth allot kiya, ja ke chup chap apni seat pe baith ja”). I still persisted and objected his derogatory behavior .This infuriated him and the way he reacted I am even ashamed to quote his indecent language which he as Railway officer should not use----(“bhonsdiwale ek bar kahani chup chap chal ja, nahi te mar deb”) and he just folded his fist in front of my face. I was also running out of patience and said “badatmiji se baat nahi”. Now again I am quoting the exact unquotable words used by him “Madarchod ab-be houk deb (and he brought his fist just in front of my face, as if he is going to give me a punch), lala bhai (Since I am Kayasth) chupchap chal ja nahi te trainwa se dhakel deb”. One more person accompanying him in formal uniform who was helping TTE in extorting money pushed me aside, and they both went forward toward S-12. This whole humiliating incidence was witnessed by the entire individual occupying berth No 1-24 in S-11. This is first time in my life I faced such a humiliating incidence. I was so upset by his behavior that even the memory of the incidence creates shivering sensation in my body.

                      In view of the above I request you to take stringent of the action possible within legal purview, so that it should be a lesson for this corrupt and indecent TTE and also example for all the other corrupt employees of the department who behave similar to him. Before deciding any punishment following points should also be noted

                      1. TTE allotted berth to other waitlist passenger bypassing me after taking bribe
                      from the passenger.
                      1. TTE was not wearing badge.
                      2. He abused me in full public, which is one of the most humiliating moments in my life.
                      3. He even threatened me to push outside running train.
                      4. Person accompanying TTE helping him to extort money was in casual dress.
                      5. They even extorted money from the waitlist passengers, just for permitting them to sit in reserved Boogie.

                      I hope railway authority will take appropriate action as per its reputation and set new example for its drive against corruption. One more thing I would like to suggest through this complaint that some method should be evolved so that RAC passengers after preparation of chart be confirmed in the order of priority. It should not be at the sweet wish of your corrupt TTE’s (hope you are also aware of it).

                      we are the employee of S E C Rly(Nagpur division).Mr D .PAL, Assistant commercial Manager S E C Rly Nagpur demanding bribe from his staff over NGP division.He thereatens the staff that if they will not fulfill his demand, they should be prepare for dare consequency.He is issuing large number of large number of minor penalty chargesheet to his staff for triffle in all over Nagpur division.After taking bribe he gives minimum punishment if his demand is not fullfilled then the quantum of punishment is very high
                      Please take legal action against him because he is making working atmosphere very corrupt.he is a most currupt officer and also misbehaving attitude.protect us.Sorry we are unable to disclose our identity

                      Today, i.e. 22/3/2009 I went at railways station Sangrur (Punjab) to left my mother at about 5:10 am, who was going to Jakhal, I wanted a ticked from the attendant who was issuing tickets, I do no know his name, I demanded one ticked from him, then he demanded denomination of 10 rupees, when I tried to best in my pocket, but I could unable to give denomination, then I gave him 50 rupees but he refused to issue a ticked with the condition of denomination of ten rupees. I very requested to him that I have no chain, please give me a ticked, even you can receive 50 rupees from me, I will take return the balance amount after that, because I am not going on the train himself. But he refused to issue ticket and started talking with unparliamentarily language with me. After that I arranged the denomination with the help of other passenger and could able to get on my mother if I just half minute more late then train could be departed. When I approached station master to complaint and demanded complaint book he also started misbehaved with me and refused to take my complaint, if I spent some time more, there may be possible that my physical harassment was also done there. So I want to take some answer as following:-
                      1. Whether the employee has a right to abuse any person/ passenger.
                      2. Whether the any passenger be ignored to issue tickets if he/she has no chain of rupees.
                      3. Whether the station master has refused to give complaint book, who wants to complaint of any official although complaint may be wrong or right.
                      4. Whether the passenger has a right to file any complaint.
                      5. If the station master is ignored to complainant what further procedure at the same railway station.
                      6. Whether the any punishment is available if any employee is found for misbehave with the passenger or a complaint just treat to eye wash of complainant.
                      It’s therefore prayed the inquiry may kindly be conducted and above said persons may kindly be punished with the hope that no other person will be humiliated as I have faced.

                      I am Software Engineer working in IT industry. It's complain against Superintendent of Parcel(PS) Mr.D. P. Agarwal, Dadar Division, Mumbai.

                      On 6th Apr'09 around 10.15 AM, I wanted to send my bike to Pune thru parcel from Dadar. I filled the form and even made ready the bike with Gunni packing. I approached the PS and told him that I wanted to send my bike Pune by parcel. In reply, he told me that the bike might go to Pune or Bangalore, and it is not his responsibility. When I told that when I was booking for Pune, then how it would n't reach Pune. Then he replied that I didn't know and it was your responsibility to see that it goes to PUNE. It's very irresponsible statement.

                      After that, we had heated arguments. I told that I would n’t send my bike by parcel, rather I would lodge the complain against you and those who are standing by you.

                      This kind of statement have very bad impression of Indian Railways. I found him dishonest, irresponsible and non dedicated employee. He came at 10.00 o'clock where office timing was from 9.00 to 20.00 hrs.

                      I request to take proper action on such irresponsible PS who is not only making the trouble to passengers but also damaging the impression of Indian Railways.

                      I am a regular traveller in mumbai local from ghansoli to Mulund in Frst class compartment i have been annoyed by some unwanted things which are being happening to me from past 3 mnths i have been puchasing my pass on mnthly basis, and there is no harm in it i belive, The guy(Mr ashok chavan) who sits at ticket vending window uses abusing wrds and has rude behaviour like anything people several people has experinced it as of me too he even hasnt spared ladies while purchasing tickets or pass

                      Indian Railways — Abusive behavior of TT of Indian Railways

                      The TT Mr. Ritesh Date on the Gitanjali Express from Howrah to Mumbai on 14th aug was highly abusive and misbehaved with me, I did not expect such arrogant kind of behavior out of an Indian Railways employee who are know to serve people with politeness and with a sense of helping their journey be safe and comfortable. Mr. Date was not ready to listen to what i had to say instead was highly abusive.

                        Hi Indian Railways..

                        I didn't understand logic behind introducing Side Middle berth without updating your reservation system... I recenlty had bad experience.. I booked a Lower birth (S7 17) in Ladies quota for my mother who is traveling to my home town alone.. Due to introduction of Side middle berth, 17 became Side Middle (Normal quota), My mother had a inconvenient travel

                        i) You should upgrade your reservation system before introuducing this side middle

                        ii) Don't say we are not increasing fares at the cost of introducing passenger inconveniene...

                          On 21/12/2008 night, at Guwahati Station Platform Number 5, we purchased Lays Chips (Printed Price: Rs. 10/-) was sold only for Rs. 12/- per packet and Water Bottle (Printed Price Rs. 12/-)was sold only for Rs. 15/-
                          When we voiced about the printed price only they refused to do so.
                          It was an authorised stall on the railway station and because of the need of the hour we had to take it. Similarly, all passengers bought it.

                            Why shouldnt I get reservation on tatkal even on the first day the tatkal booknig starts?
                            What would the common man like me do if my travel is urgent and I cannot afford air travel?
                            Respected railway minister( Mamata di),
                            May i draw your kind attention & request you to help senior citizens please.
                            This is the common problem like I experienced; lot of senior citizen are facing since long time. Though reservations are being done well in advance, even then for senior citezens are getting upper berth. This is very inconvinience for them.
                            Passengers from 3 tier AC are getting advanges and comming to 2nd AC and those who boked in advance with given preferences of berth in this case are dpriving. My mother is 80 years of age and I am writting on behalf of her.
                            Please help and hope our great leader (Didi) will bless us.

                              Dear Indian Railways:
                              Why should you have this Tatkal scheme as if Indian Railways Care for Indian citizens when following is the fact for Indian citizens go higly disappointed without getting the ticket even when they are prompt in planning their journey 5 days before - the railways permitted schedule for their urgent journey - WITHIN 2 MINUTES OF THE EARLIEST TIME IN AN ATTEMPT TO AVAIL THE FACILITY. How can this happen when each ticket booking time should take atleast a minute and the ticket on offer are typically in any permissible trains are atleast 15 of second AC, 15 of Third Ac, and atleat 150 of Sleeper Class and we do not get reserved ticket in less than 30 mintes combined of all together. How can this be possible without the cunnivance of some insiders of railways with agents - for consideration(agents try this way too for sale in black apart from their share of agent quota and why then agent quota is entertained). This the Indian public has to suffer while paying their money and time in times of emergency and go disappointed and also losing some of their money while cancelling the wait listed tickets. Once the consumer, the Indian public, pay to Indian Railways this way EVEN while unable to utilize the services for total mismanagent and cunnived things of insiders of Indian railways, the compensation, the Indian Pulic to get when fought in forum shall just not the awarded one and what the consumer insist and press will only be demanded. Therefore before we could proceed to one such thing (even after this information if Indian Railways remains debacled on this issue they shall simply lose any right on arguing on compensations). It is requested to Indian Railways go through with computer generated timings of how the takal ticket booking is handled for each ticket and answer to Indian public if such a situation is order that despite the system of tatkal booking the ticket booking comman man would not be able to get ticket even when they try by earliest of 5 days in advance and inside 2 mintes of their attempt. PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO SAY the public are informed of thier wait listed standing before booking because the public still are entitled to book paying cancellation charges when unable to get confirmed tickets in the hope that the Tatkal system should be functioning in true spirits for the money they are paying as cancellation charges and hope to get reservation for atleast some of those first few wait listed tickets.

                              This document is preserved as the first in pursuance on this matter and will be contacted when this complaint is forwared to you and after appropriate time within which the matter is cared into.

                              The Tatkal scheme of the Indian Railways is a fraud perpetrated on public by the Administration. Originally only one coach was allotted for Tatkal in Sleeper class. Now, this is not the case and a percentage is allotted in each Sleeper coach of every train having Tatkal scheme and with a train like 2657/2657 Chennai Bangalore City Chennai Mails, with about 14 sleeper coaches, the total sleeper berths would be 14 * 72 = 1008 berths and out of which 280 berths are allotted for Tatkal booking and these berths get blocked till 2 days prior to the date of journey. 280 berths out of 1018 works out to nearly 28% of the total availability of berths in the train on any given day. Assuming that all these 280 berths are booked under Tatkal scheme on any one day, the railways get 280 * Rs.75 Rs.21000/ as extra revenue at the cost of normal wait listed passengers. Invariably it is found that on weekdays, we find that at least 5 to 10 berths are vacant in half the sleeper coaches in the train.

                              The result is unwarranted sufferings for Senior citizens, who when booking tickets under e-ticket scheme are invariably allotted middle or upper berths as most of the lower berths are allotted under different quotas including Tatkal.

                              I have quoted the Bangalore mail as an example only and this applies to almost all the most popular trains running across India.

                              The computer allotment of berths are rather blind and the programme is not considering the age of the passengers in allotting berths.

                              This anomaly under tatkal scheme and berth allocation to senior citizens has to be looked into by the Railway administration and justice rendered to traveling public at large and to senior citizens in particular

                              Just think of the following situation.

                              I am a middleclass businessman or a government employee who has to go from station A to station B, 19 hour journey. I have to reach B on 20th december (say). I come to know that i have to reach B on 20th dec only on say 15 th december.
                              Unfortunately people like the above who have no other job other than holidaying, book the tickets 3 months back say 20th september and on 15th december, there are no tickets for this middleclass businessman. What do you think he should do. He can't afford to travel by flight. Travelling by bus is impossible for large distances.
                              If there is a solution to the above problem other than tatkal, you can suggest.
                              I would suggest having a separate tatkal train. But then again you people would protest saying 'The Tatkal scheme of the Indian Railways is a fraud perpetrated on public by the Administration'.
                              So only solution to problem would be assignimg 35-40% seats to tatkal.

                              Sleeper Reservation-Tatkal — blocking of reservation for tatkal

                              I tried booking my ticket for tatkal to chennai exp. 8.00 hrs on 10.12.2010, first your portal operated very slow second by 8.20 am WL 15 was recorded when i booked my ticket.
                              I am unable to understand that allotment of 183 ticket can be booked within 20 minutes. I feel every ticket will at least take 5 minutes for booking from station to destination etc and payment mode.
                              I feel there is mischief by railways authorities and agents who are part of mischief to sabotage the system.

                                Dear Sir,

                                This is with reference to PNR No.[protected]. Please note that, though the class was upgraded from 3AC to 2AC (i.e. from B3/4 to A3/41), the passenger (T.Khaitan) was forced by the TT to sit in B1-54. Please refer the attached PNR report.

                                Please note that the train number in question is 2312 Down Kalka Mail & the relevant travel date being 16/12/2008. Boarding Station - Mughal Sarai (MGS) & Destination Station - Howrah (HWH).

                                Please note that the passenger in question is a lady (age 50) & was travelling alone with luggage & had no information regarding this upgrade untill boarding of the train.

                                (Here please note that, an additional Coach B3 is attached to Kalka Mail in Mughal Sarai upon arrival. Thereby Coach-B3 becomes the first boggie immediately after the engine, far ahead of other AC coaches. In case o[censored]pgrades, it's very hectic job for a passenger to commute, alongwith all it's luggage, from B3 to any other AC coaches, as they are very far end of the train. Also the train departs immediately after this B3 coach get attached to the train).

                                The passenger, as per her original ticket, boarded the Coach-B3, as soon as it was attached to the train & took her seat no.04. She was then informed by the TT (of Coach-B3) that her ticket's been upgraded from 3AC to 2AC and hence she can't board this coach & should rush for Coach-A3, Seat 41 as the train is about to leave any moment.

                                In all despair she left the B3 coach alongwith all her luggage for Coach A3 (on the cold winter night & that too after waiting for nearly 2hrs on the station for the train to arrive which came around at 11 p.m). Somehow she made to the Coach-A3, almost fainting, just in time & the train left immediately after she boarded the boggie. As soon as she got settled on the seat (no.41), another TT appeared & informed her that she doesn't even have reservation in this coach.

                                Now this was the limit for her. First she was made to run from B3 to A3 (on the pre-text that ticket has been upgraded & as no vacant seat been left in B3). Then after running half the lenght of the train, she was informed that she doesn't have the seat in A3 either. Really this can happen to a train passenger in Indian Railways only.

                                After making her waiting for nearly an hour, in the moving train, she was finally offered the seat (55) in Coach-B1 at around 12 in the night. She then had to carry all her luggage to Coach B1 from A3.

                                Now the issues that need to be addressed by Indian Railways (or any other concerned govt. departments) are -

                                1. How railways can upgrade a seat from a boggie to another if they are
                                a) not inter-connected
                                b) at two far ends of the train

                                2. Is this the way of treating a lady (age 50) having confirmed reservation, travelling alone with luggage

                                3. Why she was denied seat in Coach A3, though her seat was actually upgraded from 3AC to 2AC (from Coach B3 to Coach A3)

                                4. If she was to be forced to sit in Coach B1 (which is 3AC) afterall, that too after waiting for an hr in a moving train, then why she was forced to leave Coach-B1 (again 3AC) in the first place.

                                5. Isn't the TT's behaviour (who are supposed to be public servant) of both the concerned Coach-B3 & Coach-A3 are questionable, suspicious & immoral.

                                In await of justice to be made in public interest in general and for all physical & mental trauma the concerned lady passenger has to went through in particular.

                                Dear Sir,
                                I Amol Kulkarni age 34 years travelling from Bhopal to Gwalior. The PNR No.- [protected] and train no. -2192 wants to register the complaint about TC. I am having a confirm ticket from Bhopal to Gwalior and the coach no- S4 and birth no is 26, Middle Birth. but I have seen that the same birth is alloted to 2-3 people by a TC.After the train has been started I find no TC in sleeper coach.
                                Inspite of having a confirmed ticket i made my journey by standing only till jhansi.
                                I want to know that how the single birth can be alloted to more than two persons.
                                Regarding that I want compensation regarding the mental and physical harrasment which I had in my journey.

                                  Many times when i want to print the ticket of the already booked ticket, the site does not open. In such cases it becomes very inconvinient and not sure of what to do. The print out of the same should be sent in the mail along with the payment details.

                                    Wanted to travel from Mysore to Bangalore Cantonment on 12/12/2008.
                                    Was issued a ticket # 86676379 from Mysore to Bangalore CY JN.
                                    When Clarified, Was told that I can use the same ticket.
                                    At Cantonment had to pay fine of Rs 265/- To TTE Swamy Raj in front of Police.Excess fare ticket # A623085.

                                    My Complaint:
                                    1.The cashier at the Mysore counter made a mistake & assured me that there will not be any problem. I was fined for some Else's mistake.
                                    2. If I was travelling without a ticket, then the fine is justifiable. but when I have bought a ticket from source city to destination city; why are the TTE or the Station Master not customer friendly. In fact they said that there were several complaints for this particular train # 6221.But that there is no use complaining or taking this up.
                                    3. I believe that these people are using a loop hole in the technicality of issuing tickets to fine passengers & unduly harass passengers.
                                    4. Please provide feed back to concerned cashier at Mysore Railway to provide correct tickets.

                                    I went to book the ticket to kerala on 25-May-09 to bangalore contonment railway station booking section with my credit card thinking that i can finish the booking fast as the q infront of the credit card counter will be very less. and as i thought there were no q in front of the credit card reservation counter and i went to book the ticket arrount 5.40PM and no one was there in the counter, the person name displayed on the counter was Mr.Dhirendranath Munda.I asked the next counter lady where is the person she said he will come in another 5 mins. I waited there and he came back at 6.10PM, telling that he went for a break. for easy payment we go to credit card counter and people like Dhirentranath Munda takes such a long break then what is the use of credit card counter. Also it is been written over the counter as break time between 9.30 to 9.45 AM so how come a 30 mins break only for Dhirentranath Munda at 5.40PM.
                                    These kind of behaviour of the railway emplyees really iritates people.We are paying tax to goverment to get a good and smooth life and employee who are ment to serve us behaves so badly.

                                      sir, I Traveled in Samperk Kranti (Bagalore to H Nizamuddin & Back)in II Sl.( PNR[protected] & [protected]) I faced a lot of problem due to the additional birth attached to the side, It is not a wise decision, It is very very difficult to travel, Being a female I was facing so much difficulty. You are requested to convey this message to required authority and tell them, Please stop this program of adding third birth to the side. It is a not fare to make a passenger to travel in so much tight position . It is only matter of 12 Birth per compartment, Please add an additional compartment instead of mounting third birth to the side . please be humanistic towards the lower class passengers also.
                                      I too agree on the same. We have been facing the problem since 3rd side birth is added to both Sleeper and AC 3Tr. It is very deficult to travel when you are alone or with family if any of the side birth is alloted as 3rd birth adds to lot of discomfort.
                                      Problem is doubled by printing incorrect birth position on the ticket.

                                      While travelling I have seen many people cursing Railway Ministry for the same. Probably it has caused change in ministry this time. Hope additional side birth will be removed . also Raily dept can save effort and month on changes yet to be done in railway reservation system software( as it is still giving wrong position since additon of more side birth).

                                      Although intention of addition of birth is to allow seats for more passanger it also adds to discomfort, better solution would be addtion of more bogie.
                                      My daughter alongwith her friend happened to travel by train 2270 Duranto Exp. from Delhi to Chennai. (PNR No. [protected]). The quality of food that the catering people provided is far below expectations. The roties were very hard and the curries were not at all good to eat. More to say the ice cream they supplied was watery. When we complained to the incharge of the compartment, they became impulsive. When they asked for a bottle of water, they said only two bottles of water shall be supplied and cash is required to be paid for the additional requirement of water. So much money was paid to railways and in return we expect to get this kind of treatment. People spent lot of money just for comfort and convenience. If this is the trend, one can travel by the ordinary sleeper class and buy good things from outside the platform. Isn't it. Railways should look into this and suitable remedial actions should be initiated.
                                      I travelled in side upper birth in Indian Rail Train Name (Sanghmitra express, Puri - Howrah express). When i was travelling on this birth, I was looking like that some goods has been placed on Side upper birth, which can not be moved from one position to another. It was very difficult to seat there, sleep there etc. It was 100% discomfort. Whole journey i seated on side lower birth. It was creating problem for me as well as for another counter passengers. Why not railway take decision to make proper side upper birth management as earlier. Earlier side upper birth was the dream birth to travel, because person can seat and sleep comfortably. So I request to Railway Ministry to make proper side upper birth management for enjoyful journey for traveller.

I was travelling from Ahmedabad to Surat by Saurashtra Mail on 14th December, 2008.The TTE of Saurashtra Mail, MR R K PANDEY, took Rs:400/- from me as a curruption money and did not make any official receipt of it. I requested Mr R K Pandey to make official receipt of it. But, he did not issue any receipt for this amount. On introducing myself as a Member Surat Railway Station Advisory Committee and Doctor, also he said : these money will go in my pocket and I will not make any receipt of it. You can make complaint of this at any place. On reaching Surat station, I immediately met Station Master of Surat, Mr Shaikh, to lodge the complaint for this curruption and loss to Indian Railway. Mr Shaikh asked me to produce witness for this and did not took any complaint.

                                        I am bringing this matter in your notice to take appropriate actions in this matter and do the needful. Sir, If such incidence happen to Member of Indian Railway and an educated Consultant doctor, what must be the condition of other India Citizens??? Such refusal of TTE to issue any receipt of money, makes huge losses to Indian Railway.
