I booked my scooter and a steel box from old Delhi Rail station on ticket upto Meerut city on 22nd Mar 09, sunday by delhi Haridwar passenger. The same day the items were loaded but at Meerut city despite my frantic effort o[censored]nloading the items through the guards and parcel Babu of the station it could not be unloaded for, the babu came very late and said that the door was tight.The items were overcarried and still now it is missing.
I lodged a complaint at the station vide complaint No 021 at the station at 2145 hours.
I request you to do the needful. I am an Ex-serviceman presently working at Meerut in a private college.

    on 16th Aug-2008, i was at baroda railway station, to leave towards bharuch at around 9:45 pm.
    Thre when i was standing in line to purchase a ticket for baroda express, the person who was giving ticket was talking and giving to ticket inside the window to someone and i told him to give ticket as i was in hurry, as i need to go to collect some appliances from someone else. then that person first said that Bharuch ticket one cant get, from this window, and i told him that yes one can, he was saying no only because i had suggested him to give ticket in place of talkig,
    then he quarreled with me and abused too. and then from window itslef he slapped me, this was too much Unimaginable for me, and i am ready to complain in written if one shows me the way, that to whom i should complain, that fellow was too rude, and how can he abuse me and raise hand on me?

    i was in hurry so i left but next time when i will visit baroda sure i will complain about this. But i want to know that whom i should complain?

    Misuse of DISABLED coach by normal persons & railway employes in bangalore to chennai trains .

    regurlerly i travel from bangalore to chennai, in chennai express disabled coach is fully filled with railway staff & they close the all windows & doors it is very horriable to get into coach..

      I was travelling from Hazrat Nizammudin (New Delhi) to Secunderabad on by Rajdhani express, Train no.- 2438 on 10th Aug'08. For the last one & half years I have been travelling by flights. Since the recent hike in flight fares, I booked reservation for myself, my wife & son in the Rajdhani express in II AC.
      On 11th Aug'08 morning at about 5:20 am, we found that the handbag of my wife was stolen. This happened just before reaching Jhansi railway station (Our berths were inside berths, coach- A4 & berths 37, 38 & 39, PNR no.[protected]. Since Rajdhani express is AC train the windows are not openable.
      I approached the coach attendant & the TT. We searched for person who had stolen the bag. There was also such theft incident in coach A3 in the adjacent compartment. We tried to find any person getting down the train at Jhansi station, but nobody got down.
      After about an hour we came to know from the attendant that the handbag was stuufed inside one of the toilets in our coach.
      The handbag was taken out from the comode. We had lost Rs 2000/- cash, two mobile phones (with no.- [protected] & [protected]), four spectacles, my wife's voter ID card, and the handbag (white colour) was also new worth Rs 1000/-. Totally worth Rs 7000/- belongings were lost. Since the handbag was in the comode, we had to throw away the same.
      The train TT (A Sardarji) told me to put up an FIR at Secunderabad railway station. After getting down at Secunderabad station at 1:30 am midnight on 12th Aug'08 (Rajdhani was delayed by 8 hours on that journey) I approached the Railway stn. police station. They did not lodge the complaint/FIR. Instead the police officer asked me to send my application to Hazrat Nizammudin Railway station or Jhansi station. I had nothing to say but to leave to my home as we were tired after travelling for 30 hours.
      There was no police/security personnel in the train. I felt that India's prestigious train Rajdhani express with no safety/security arrngement. I also understood that the theft was done by some of the train attendants and more doubt on the train electrician, because we saw him moving in the compartment around the time of theft. If this is the case, there may be such theft cases daily in the so-called Rajdhani express by the inside train railway staff and this might have already become a practice to them. The passengers have only to accept this as neither the TT, nor the staff & nor the poilce will support them.
      I am not bothered about the lost things but the unsafe trains we are having, where the staff steals the passenger's belongings, when they are asleep.
      I hope somebody will be able to bring this in control and the staff who are involved are brought to task.

      Because of such incident I cancelled my return railway reservation to Delhi and booked flight tickets.

        Indian Railways Online booking…Money disappears between Railways & Payment Gateway of ICICI Credit Card.
        Recently on August 14 I tried to book the tickets for my family on the net. At first it appears a great site and it has all the ingredients to become popular with the Netzens. But my experience is such that I am frightened of the use the net. What happened on that day? I registered with the Railway site with my E Mail and other particulars. I attempted twice for booking to Goa (Madgaon) by Train no. 0111 Konkan Kanya Express for 12th Nov.(Full 90 days in advance) journey date on 3AC. All the seats were available on that day. So I listed the names of the passengers, got the availability, fare from the site, entered my credit card details. The result! It indicated a failed transaction. I did not understand why? The net was fast. The traffic was not high? But to my surprise on checking I found the money is debited from my account. The railways informed me about the failed transaction through E Mail. And then sent me a mail to inform me of crediting account of refund in full. But to my surprise on checking the money is not credited in the account. When I informed that the money is not credited. The Railway promptly asked me to send the proof by way of scanned print of statement of account or the screen shot of the statement. I took me lot of effort to generate the statement and then scan it and sent to the Railways through E Mail. But still no refund.
        This did not happen once but twice. This resulted in about Rs 8000/- Struck with the Railways.
        The bank is unable to help. The railways are not helping. Where shall I go? How to get refund. I am a retired senior citizen. Can anybody help me in getting my money?
        Now I am frightened to transact through the net specially the Railways. I am using the net to transact for many years but never had this type of experience.
        I warn the user of the Indian railways online reservation to take this experience in to account before transacting through the net.
        How the Railways have the heart to ask me the proof of money not deposited in my account! On the other hand they shall furnish the proof of transaction of refunding the money in my account.
        Secondly everyone is not fortunate to get the statement of the transactions so promptly and scan. Will they go by this proof and refund? They have to check at their end and give proof of refund transaction!
        Why there should be a failed transaction at the first place when net is very fast? And why the money is debited from the account when there is failed transaction of booking tickets? Does not gel!
        Booking Indian Railways Tickets Online is generally not recommended because most of the times the Indian railways website goes down and the customers lose their money because the payment gateway approves the funds and while transferring the data from their end to the railways website, the connection gets cut. This has happened to me twice while when I used my ICICI Credit card. Both the times the transactions failed because the connection could not be established and later we get a message saying that the payment made shall be refunded. In fact they ask to prove that the payment is not refunded. Negative proof? Will they accept the proof and refund based on the proof furnished in the form of scanned statement? Or screen shot (& what is that? Does anybody know?) Does it not involve delays, time, money & effort to prove. There is no fault at any time of the customer like me. I am treated like a ball being shuffled between the bank & the railways. No body takes the responsibility. Eventually the money of customer is struck between two players. I do not have unlimited resources to go to pillar & post to get the refund. They care less about the customers. While they have cutomer care E mail service!
        There were recent claims from the Indian railways that the online tickets booking has increased from 3% to 10% but wonder how many passengers are losing their hard earned money because of their useless backend software. Even if you check out the official railways website its full of ads which might be reason of slowing.
        The Airlines websites are mostly meant for business and customers which is the reason they have professional looking websites and also offer guides and tutorials on how to book a ticket, but the Indian railways website offers less information and more ads. May be if these guys upgrade their whole system they could make a lot more money from the online ticket booking service than what they make from these ads.

        Indian Railways — Money Debited from Credit Card without Reservation

        Hi,

        I had booked my tickets online from IRCTC website for my travel from Bangalote to Chennai - 2 Tickets using my Credit Card. The ticket was booked on 11th Nov 2008

        The first time the transaction was unsuccessful however money was debited from my card. I was expecting an auto transaction of the same for getting the money refunded, however it hasnt happened till date.

        Pls help me in geting the amount refunded. Pls provide me with point of contact for the same.

          Respected Sir,
          We would highly appreciate if you take up the following issue.
          1. We had confirmed railway e-tickets from Nizamuddin to Vadodara on 2nd June, 2008. Pnr Nos are [protected] ( 6 persons) and [protected] (2 persons). Train No 2954 Aug Kranti. The tickets were booked with SBI Railway Card. Total amount: Rs 7380+Rs 2480= Rs 9860

          2. The train was cancelled because of Gujjar movement in Rajasthan.

          3. We were in the Delhi airport at that time and contacted railway authority 139. The person said, our e-tickets will be cancelled automatically and refund will be made aitomatically in the a/c.

          4. We waited for the SBI card statement. After one and half months when we contacted them, SBI Railway card person who said that there was no such information from railways.

          5. We send mail to IRCTC on 4th Aug, 2008. They refused to accept complaint and did not act.
          They replied that it should heve been done by one month from the date of journey.

          We had to take flight from Delhi to Vadodara which costed us Rs 4500 per person along with the other intangible inconveniences. And that too without any mistake on our part.

          We request you to take the matter seriously Sir and save us from substantial financial loss.

          I would say one thing first-
          1.Do not give up.File another complaint addressing the "Chairman, Railway Board, Ministry of Railways, GOI"
          2.Additionally, send a copy to the Hon'ble Minister, Indian Railway, The Zonal Manager of the said Railways and the SBI Card Services Pvt. Ltd.(This card company has been adjudged as one of the worst companies in terms of customer harrassment)
          3.Wait for a reasonable time
          4.NOW, send a complaint to the RTI (Right to information).The url of this is - 1.www.rti.gov.in/webactrti.htm 2.www.rtiindia.org/ or 3.righttoinformation.gov.in/
          You'll find some useful info here.
          IF EVERYTHING FAILS TO WORK-

            i travelled by 0657 Special Train introduced for Independence Day travellers from Chennai- Trivandrum starting at 830 pm from Chennai on 14th Aug/2008.

            The bogie S12 was the most shabby, with unclean toilets, . The train was filled with Salem passengers & Kerala bound passengers, with Waiting list tickets in reserved bogie. Instead of the TTR Mr. Balasubramaniam coming within 1 hr, he arrived at 1230 am.The passage near toilet was filled with people sitting
            & not able to enter toilets or other bogie.

            Such is the way reserved passengers are treated on independence day. TTr is not interested in driving people to unreserved compartment. He comes cooly at 1230 to avoid the confusion.

            Kindly answer if possible the" HARVARD reputed IndianRailways"
            What more do you expect in this filthy country? Soon you will see snakes also. This is a slum dog country where more than 100 people are cramped into a coach like filthy pathetic animals. Accept, compromise and please try to live without any complaints. If you cannot, then migrate to a better country please. slumdogs dot wordpress dot com

                sir,
                i have a complaint against one of tc of western railways named RAMKELAL YAADAV (in kutch express -9131)

                my father-in-law had to go for emergency for kutch at 08th august 2008 by kutch express and that was so emergency so when we reached at bandra station first we taken local ticket from windows and after that we had asked tc to confirm that local ticket into reservation if there is any availability. that tc show the chart and we also seen the chart. there were so many availability. the chart of that day is evidence of that availability. that tc asked us to give rs.350 to reserve that local ticket. but when i said him that there is so much availability here and normal reservation charge is rs.140. than why you demand 350. than he loose his temper and used abusing word and said me (LODA, JYADA INQUIRY NA KAR TICKET NAHI DENA HAI JAA.)
                When i asked him to why he used abusing word and not giving fair answer he said "GALI TO KYA MAI TUJE YAHA MAAR BHI SAKTA HU, MAAR KAR DIKHAU KYA" and when i tried for read his name on his pocket he replied "KYA KAR RAHA HAI, NAAM PADHNA NAHI AATA TO LIKH KE DU KYA, JO KARNA HAI KARLE, ME YAADAV HU. MINISTER BHI YAADAV HAI."

                and he had not gave me a ticket and in my presence he reserved many others ticket with taken extra rupees than legal.



                sir, that complaints is not only mine but thousands of Indian railways' passengers. most of tc consider himself like he is the boss of railway.. and passengers forcibly complete there demand because there is no another way .

                pls do it correct not only for me but also for hundreds- thousands of passenger.

                During the peak hours there is only one ticket counter open and many a times electronicdevices fitted on the platform are out of order. long ques outside a single window is a frequent scenario. Really Appreciate the person who is handling the single window ticket counter at the west side of the platform, he has to go through a war like situation everyday. please if you could take up this matter to the concerned authority.

                This is regarding the incident occurred with myself and my family at Mumbai central on Platform no 1 at 6.35 am when Avantika Express 2962 arrived, and I was there to receive my sister Mrs. Ekta Khaitani and her daughter Miss. Simran Khaitani of which (copy of ticket attached) she is non residence Indian stays abroad and came here to meet her inlaws in dewas with Avantika Express she boarded for Dewas and arrived at Mumbai central[protected] at 6.35 am. on arrival of the train we all were going out where the two ticket collectors asked for tickets I gave them tickets and platform tickets of me and my mother and they saw the luggage of there bags and weighed the luggage it comes 78 KG the claimed by saying that there is over weight, as per the ticket you are allowed to carry 60 Kg for 1 and half person there is 18 Kg extra weight and there was also another passenger with us whose weight was 62 Kg there about 22kg extra they took the bribe of Rs 100/- from him and let him go, and they asked for the bribe of Rs 200/-from me saying that you are NRI family to let me go I had an argument withthem for leaving the other passenger with Rs 100/- and asking me 200/- or they asked me to pay penalty of Rs 330/- but as soon as the argument of bribe started and I told that you have taken Rs 100/- from other person and Indian Railways is not giving you salary they started shouting for their safety as there was crowd and they called a constable and took me to head ticket collectors office at ground floor and there also they told they put me in the custody and started abusing and threatening me that we are making false memo against you they said you are not having platform ticket and you have not given bribe when we asked you as you told us that you are taking bribe from other person in all the front of the public it is our insult we will show you and produce in you in the court but seeing the situation mother and sister interfeared and deeply requested to let me go and we will pay all the penalty they took Rs 350/- and gave the carbon copy receipt no E 780259 of Rs.330/- (attached copy) duly signed by one of them and not returned Rs.20/- when asked balance amount they asked to leave soon or we will again take bad action against you.

                I hereby complaint you to look into the matter and take serious action against them so that they will not harass anybody else and to the senior citizens and our guests non residence Indians who is seriously ill and came for medical treatment in Mumbai it is the shame on our city that for little amount the officers do such cheap things.

                Sir, It is been noticed that the western railway local trains from Virar/ Borivali To Churchgate are running 15 - 20 minutes late from the last four days.

                We request you to please take necessary steps and see that the trains run again in time.
                I want to complaint about Ist class Compartment.
                In 1st class compartment evening after 5.30 pm some of the passengers are all 2nd class passengers. After 5.30 pm why your TC are not entering in 1st class compartment? Daily I am travelling from Vasai to Churchgate in 1st class. Daily I am watching most of 2nd class passengers are entering in 1st class compartment.

                I request you all to take a immediate action about this.

                i was caught on tuesday for travling fro sky walk from kalanagar to bandra bus depot and fioned rupees 120 for not haviing a platform ticket...when we exit from skywalk it does not mentions that a ticket is necessay to cross foot over bridge..yes but on west side from bandradep it does mentioon a tickedt is required to traved how ever rail way is not specific as the tc's do not listen to you and thretan of grp sitting in front of exit ans commuters are also thretnned thaty they will be published in black and white if they do not pay the fine as tc ghas to catch mioninum 10 people every day as part of hios duty .. when i asked for his senior officer for a complaint rather than assistance he thretned me saying "SAMNE WOH POLICE DAKH RAHE HO WOTH TUMHE PAKAD KA ANDER KARDAGE" despite of explaining the issue . he turned oput to be a pain in the A**. he also told me "KISE MILOGE PATRAKAR KO BOLAY" as i had informed that i worked as freelacer with times of india for new bombay plus.he showed me the bord on west side when i told him there is no bord on exit from sky walk he said it is not an issue because west side has a board...though he looke like like jentel man that ccoman man can be fooled but was very rood and had no maners as to how to help coman man..

                IN A 9/12 COACH TRAIN, NEXT TO THE FRONT SIDE FIRST CLASS COMPARTMENT, IS A LADIES FIRST CLASS COMPARTMENT. IT IS DIVIDED IN TWO PARTS, FIRST HALF IS MEANT FOR LADIES FOR ENTIRE 24 HRS( consider it as A) AND THE SECOND HALF, THERE IS A SPECIFIC TIME FOR LADIES ie 7.30 AM TO 11.30 PM , WHICH MEANS FROM 11.30 PM TO 7.30 AM GENTS CAN BOARD ( consider it as B)
                MY OFFICE IS AT MARINE LINES AND I STAY AT ANDHERI. USUALLY, I AM ON MY WAY HOME AFTER 9PM.
                I HAVEN'T COME ACROSS AN INSTANCE AFTER 9pm WHERE I CAN SEE THE "B" PART OF THAT COMPARTMENT PACKED. THERE ARE HARDLY 5 WOMEN IN THE B PART OF THAT COMPARTMENT.

                APPROXIMATE 4 YRS BACK, THE TIMING FOR WOMEN WAS 7 AM TO 9 PM, SINCE PAST 4 YEARS , THE TIMING HAS BEEN CHANGED TO 11.30 PM.

                FIRST CLASS PEOPLE PAY AVG RS 1500 QUARTERLY, SO DOES WOMEN DO.

                IT CREATES A COMPLEX FEELING, WATCHING THEM RELAXED, WHERE AS THEY CAN EASILY SHIFT IN THE "A" PART OF THAT COMPARTMENT, WHICH IS FOR THEM FOR 24 HRS AND NO NEED TO GIVE HALF OF THE COMPARTMENT TO HARDLY 10 TO 15 LADIES.

                I BOARD THE TRAIN FROM MARINE LINES, AND I DO NOT REMEMBER WHEN I GOT A CHANCE TO SIT, EVEN WHEN THE TRAIN DEPARTS FROM CHURCHGATE, WHICH IS NEXT TO MARINE LINES STATION.

                MY POINT IS,
                a. WAT WAS THE POINT / OBJECTIVE TO CHANGE THE TIME 4 YRS BACK FROM 11.30 PM TO 9 PM, EVEN THOUGH THE 24 HRS COMPARTMENT REMAINS EMPTY AFTER 9 PM.

                b. DID WESTERN RAILWAY ACHIEVE ANY THING MY MAKING SUCH A STUPID CHANGE IN THE TRAIN TIME, WHICH SHALL HARDLY AFFECT WOMEN BUT WOULD AFFECT MEN ON LARGE NUMBER.

                c. WOMEN'S SAFETY IS ALSO A PRIORITY, AND IT SHALL BE TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION, AND I AGREE TO IT. BUT WHAT IS THE POINT TO DIVIDE WOMEN IN TWO DIFFERENT COMPARTMENTS WHEN THEY CAN EASILY AND COMFORTABLY ACCOMMODATE THEMSELVES IN THE 24 HRS COMPARTMENT.

                Kindly note that station master vaishali is working in DAHOD B CABIN in W.RLY.traffic dept ratlam division, and w.rly dahod has allotted residence quarter no 135-B, near dahod railway station, but at present she is not living in this quarter.She is leaving at SHUBHAM NAGAR, GOVIND NAGAR DAOD,
                In her allotted quarter Mr.SAIYAD(T.C.W.R.RATLAM DIVISION) is living there since last 5 to 7 years.
                Every month vaishali is taking above amount since last 5 to 7 years.Ratlam division deputy traffic inspector Mr.S.D.MEENA, traffic inspector Mr.HAMIRSING and Dahod SS Mr.Makbul
                Sir told him that vaishali do not continue this unofficial activity and practice otherwise western railway will take action against you but she has refuse this reputed and cooperative officer talk and she is not afraid of vevgelance checking, since till today she is in involve in this unauthenic activity.
                And I think that she is not faithful to western raiway during her services in w.rly.
                So you are requested to take departmental vigilance checking against her and give me

                    I have traveled from Hyderabad to Bangalore
                    Train: 2785
                    Berth no: 35-SLB
                    Ticket No: 30234906

                    I would like to bring to your notice that the passenger travels on 2nd A.C on the SLB & SUB have been charged
                    more and the logic is as follows:

                    2nd AC SLB/SUB

                    1) The length is not the same compared to LB/UB
                    2) The width is not the same compared to LB/UB
                    3) The ventilation of A.C is not available when compared to LB/UB
                    4) The middle tray is not available compared to LB
                    5) The leg space is very negligible compared to LB
                    6) The sitting area is very less compared to LB
                    7) There is no 3pin / 2pin plug point for charging/laptop charging

                    Also note that the 2nd AC, SLB & SUB is equivalent to 3rd AC traveling mode.
                    With this circumstances
                    how you can charge more than 3rd AC charges when facilities is same as 3rd AC in 2nd AC SLB/SUB?
                    or How you can treat a passenger when SLB/SUB and LB/UB both have paid the same amount.
                    with lesser facilities when SLB and LB passenger are paying the same amount?

                    Solution:

                    1) Either the SLB and SUB of 2nd AC berths should be alloted to the WL passengers of 3rd AC
                    2) Or you should charge the amount of the same of 3rd AC

                    I would like to have clarification if myne is not justified

                      I beg to complain while i was on the platform of the bilaspur why he issued the receipt and i was also compiled to travel on journal compartment. more ever it is clearly letdown in railway ruling that if a parson by mistake travel in a higher class he should be given a chance to get down from the compartment on the same station or next stoppage of the train

                        Today at around 2:30 pm I phoned Indian railway number([protected]) for knowing the departure time of Shipra Express.What he answered is not audiable.Again I asked him whether it is in right time or not.Insatantly he abused me in telephone.I asked his name.He refused to tell his name.Earlier also I have faced this kind of behavoiur.I hope Railway authority will look into the matter and initiate necessary action against that official.

                        I mr. Hargovind bajaj went to railway station at sirpur kagazngagar for purchasing tatkal ticket from secunederabad to mumbai on dated[protected].
                        I was station at 7.20 am. on dated 30/04/2009 and I observed nobody was in line for tatkal ticket And Mr. Tejawat Kumar was filling railway reservation forms personally and 7.45am window was open and duty person Mr. Tejawat kumar collected my reservation form but I have observe he was having 6 to 7 reservation forms in his hand and myself was objected for that when nobody was in line then he was 1st preparing his own forms ticket so he replied rudely this forms was my friends and personnel and threatening me you want ticket or not. I will not ticket issue to you that is my wish. If you want ticket standing on line after completion of this tickets i will issue you. (HE WAS RUDELY SHOUTED !! YE MERA PERSONEL TICKET HAI, TUMKO TICKET HONA YA NAHIN, KHADE HO KAR DONO HATH UTHA KAR TUMKO TICKET HONA YA NAHIN, TUMKO TICKET HONA YA NHAIN !! and his colleague encouraging to Tejawat and told me THOD RUK NAHIN SAKTE KYA INKE RELATIVE KA TICKET HAI.PAHECHAN WALE KA HAI.)
                        After argument he issued a ticket. This is not first time. This thing happens so many times with other persons also. What the meaning of TATKAL SCHEME . IT MEANS THIS SCHEME FOR RAILWAY EMPLOYYES OR HIS RELATIVES, AND FRIENDS OR BLACK MARKETING WITH TAKING BRIBE IN NAME OF EXTRA COST.IN TATKAL SCHEME ON 1ST DAY EVERY SECOND IS IMPORTANT.

                        We have written complaint no. 092855 dated 30/04/2009 at 8.20 am. Sirpur kagaznagar railway station.
                        AGAIN I have went for tatkal ticket on[protected] at morning 7.30 am and I was in 1st in line .Again they create problem for me.Tejawat seen me and In crucial time at tatkal at 8.00 am the staff surrendering account at 8.01am . That delaying I have not got a ticket in RAPTISAGAR EXPRESS FOR 25/05/09 IN 3RD AC AND 2ND AC .SO I HAVE TAKE A TICKET FOR SLEEFPER CLASS.

                        I am thoroughly dissapointed by the indecent behaviour and poor service of the railway staff's inside Rajadhani Express (12432) scheduled from Nizamuddin on 22 Dec 2010. This train was delayed by 7.5 hours and reached Mangalore (from where I boarded) at 01:15 AM on 24th Dec 2010. Following are the few incidents I would like to bring to your kind notice,

                        1. Train delayed by 7.5 hrs both at source (Mangalore) and destination (Trivandrum) causing us to miss the connecting train from Trivandrum to Kanyakumari on 24th Dec morning.
                        2. No proper Food and Water supplied in the train through out the journey. On requesting for Breakfast on 24th Dec morning, we were given harsh response by both the waiter and the bed roll supplier.
                        3. Bed rolls were not provided at the time of boarding. The berth's (A1-3, A4 - 7, 9) was occupied by other passengers while I and my family boarded the train in the mid night at 01:15 AM.
                        4. On repeatedly requesting for Bed rolls, the person in charge provided us with "used" bed rolls which was disgusting.

                        I have filed a TDR (for PNR # [protected]) for the delay which has caused severe loss to me and my family in terms of covenience, moral and money matters. I request you to kindly do the needful with the Refund amount and also request you to take such matters seriously in order to keep the reputation of India's premium train - Rajadhani Express.

                          sir i was an M.tech Student of IIT Roorkee, INDIA(which is one among the best institution in World).i have graduated this year and i sent my things to chennai through Parcel service of Indian Railways from Roorkee on july 6th.today the date is august 1. till now i have not received my parcel. i have my valuable books in that parcel. i have lodged complaint in Chennai NR cell wing. but it was of no use. they are telling that Northern railways is not cooperating. really its very doubting for me that whether am i living in INDIA, the biggest democratic country. we are paying money to them to offer service. but the way they react is like they are offering free service to us. this is a pathetic state of a Student in INDIA.i hope that i will get my parcel atleast by August 6th, 2008 not 6th August 2009.

                            This is to get your notice into how your level crossing employees treat road passengers at Trivandrum.
                            The incident took place at Station Kadavu Level Cross, Near VSSC, Thumba, Trivandrum, Kerala.
                            I was driving my car and when I reached middle of the crossing bell rang and the level cross personnel started lowering the gate as if i shouldn't have gone through the gate. When I reached the other end he lowered the gate to a limit such that my cars top hit dragged the gate bottom and my car had scratched at the top.
                            I just need to let you know that he should have closed the gate after vehicles that have already inside the crossing have crossed the gates. This personnel does this all the time not to me but to others also. You should take note of this and have a training to these personals regarding the risk involved in trapping vehicles inside the crossing when train comes. What If train had come that time when i was trapped due to his ignorant attitude?
                            So please take note of my complaint and hope you will reply with positive remark.

                              Sir/Madam,

                              This is really pathetic to see the situation of SWARN SHATABDI Express, one of the best trains of INDIAN RAILWAYS..
                              Some serious complaints/facts are as follows:-

                              -- There was no cleaning staff in the train. We ourself have to clean the tray tables of our seats or we have to keep newspapers on the tray tables to have our food.

                              -- The cleaniness of the toilets and the washbasins speaks itself after seeing the pictures attached to this mail.

                              -- I my self was running around on the AMRITSAR STATION to get the coach cleaned. I contacted the station master, showed him the condition of the train in which all the garbage, used cups, empty bottles, and what not was lying inside the coach. Then the station master appologised and said that there is scarcity of cleaning staff. I think simply saying this doesnt helps.

                              -- Water was dropping from the roof top on our head. On complaining to the maintainance staff, he simply answered that " SIR YE TO HUMAARE MEIN HAATH MEIN NAHI HAI. HUM ISKA KOI ILAAJ NAHI KAR SAKTE". There was no other seat available in the coach so that i could have changed my seat.

                              -- The seats of the toilets were broken, there is no toilet paper/roll, no soap in the dispenser for washing hands, no mug in the indian toilets, EXTREMLY STINKING TOILETS.

                              You please also refer to complaint number 002, dated 12/07/2008 for train number 2029.

                              I can only say that this was one of the most pathetic journey for me.

                              I only want take this compaint very seriously and keeping in mind all the touble and hasele i faced during the trip

                              I start my journey to Ludhiana from Amritsar Junction. I missed out my ticket for my journey. I visit to Ticket counter for ticket but he said that the charts are out & now we are unable to give u ticket. He suggested me that u can buy an ordinary ticket & paid the difference during the journey. I done the same. When i reached near to train the Pantory Incharge Ravi Xavier ask me for ticket. I told him that i am having ordinary ticket. He said "doesn't matter, i will arrange it for you." I said no i want proper ticket. He said that then you have to pay Rs.650/-. I said OK. He took Rs650/- from me for ticket. Train started its journey. Later on, when Ticket Checker came to me & ask me for ticket, I said Ravi Xavier took Rs.650/- from me for ticket. He said Why u pay him money. I said " he wears the uniform." He said "he is our Pantory Incharge" I said OK. Kindly call him so that i take my money back. He said its not my duty. You have to Pay Rs.1350/-. I said Why. He said you have to pay the fare till New Delhi. I said its Rs.675/-. He said "you have to pay double."

                              He start misbehaving with me when i said ok i will pay full amount but you have to mention that you need ticket till New Delhi. He don't agree on that & call RPF.

                              I just want to ask from Railway ministry that why every common man suffers from these kind of things?
                              He(Ticket Checker - CHETAN DAS) took Rs.300 from one man & Rs.100 from 3 peoples, then if i was ready to pay Rs.1350/- then Why he misbehaved with me??

                              I need these answers & if we don't have these answers then how can we stop CORRUPTION from our country.

                              Please take some action to stop these stupid activities.

                              I was in journey from new Delhi to ludhiana 21/7/22 Amritsar Shatabadi . Food quality very very poor . Arrogant staff . Without prior information, the staff offer paid food . Even for water bottle, staff asked money .
                              After serving sandwitch without informing whether its paid or complementary, the staff asked money and we paid also . But its the responsibily of staff to inform which food is paid and which is complementary .

                                I wish to bring to your notice the total breakdown of services on the 2906 DN Howrah - Porbandar Express leaving Howrah on Saturday 19th July 2008.

                                My wife and her mother ( a senior citizen ) were travelling from Howrah to Jamnagar by AC 2 Tier ( Coach A1 ) on 19th July 2008 .

                                The following incidents and lapses highlight the pathetic state of affairs in the Indian Railways :

                                1. No drinking water was served after the train left Howrah at 22:55 hrs. They were rudely instructed to get the it at Kharagpur ( sometime past midnight ) . Never mind if the passenger dies of thirst . Chalta Hai .
                                Please note that this "superfast train " boasts of a pantry car.

                                2. Bedrolls were dirty and sheets were stained. No towels were given to any one. Answer given by attendant : Not available.

                                3. No pantry service for long hours next day. Inspite of appeals and requests to the pantry staff, TTE and attendant, no service was provided. My wife and other co passengers insisted for a complaint book which the TTE refused to give ( TTE refused to divulge his name - TTE was on duty from Nagpur to Bhusaval in this coach ). The Pantry Manager Mr Shivprasad of M/s Kwality Caterers also refused to give the complaint book to my wife. The were totally callous to the passengers' needs and no dinner orders were taken till 9 PM. Meanwhile all the passengers in the AC coach visibly angered and put through this cruel harrasment confronted the TTE and when confronted by the crowd he quickly handed over some feedback forms to the passengers ( no carbon paper he smartly added when asked for an acknowledgement ) . Finally many passengers lodged the complaints in writing but no one acknowledged them, including the TTE and Pantry Car manager .

                                3. The bearer overcharged the passengers for the beverages, lunch etc. First he refused to give a bill for the food bought from the pantry. Then he was forced to give the bills to the passengers when the payment was made and to our surprise he was overcharging. Thanks to the unity of the passengers, who were fighting for their rights, he had to refund the excess money rather shamefacedly.

                                4. The toilets were not clean and stinking through the journey. No water in taps after Nagpur.
                                All this in a train which was running 3 hours late.

                                We shall be submitting all the complaints and grievances of the passengers to the relevant higher authorities .

                                This goes to prove that no one is accountable in IR. Passengers are taken for a ride literally. If this is the case in upper class, then I wonder what is happening in the lower classes of travel. All the talk and hype by our honorable Railway minister is only a gimmick. The ground realities are different .

                                The passenger who has to travel 2500 kms and pays for the comforts and services gets a raw deal and denied of his rights.The railways do not seem to care for customer service, cleanliness, amenities. This is a shocking true story of what IR is really all about.

                                I request the Railway Authorities to take stringent action against the erring officers and staff incharge of this train . Hard Copies of the complaint shall be submitted with adequate proof to the Western Railway authorities.

                                The Indian Railways need to take this feedback very seriously since it is the lifeline of India and pride of the nation, and is sadly bringing shame and disgrace to its people, thanks to the culture and inhuman values prevailing in the staff.

                                Indian Railway — Water has not been provided with Lunch

                                I am traveling on train 2296 ( Sanghmitra Exp) from Patna to Bangalore on 1-Jan-2009. I have ordered my lunch on 2-Jan-2009. Caterer did not provide water with the lunch. When i asked to provide the water, he is saying he has not received water.

                                When i have asked him to bring the Complain Book. He ran away immediately.

                                I hope India Railway will take some action. This is happening with everyone. They are not providing water to anyone not only in this train but with other train also.

                                Its a great news of running "Garib Rath Express"from Puri to Howrah and obviously many will be and are being benifitted.But, I dont understand that how a train with full air conditioned(A/C) coach and when the fare is equivalent to other express train bear such name(Garib Rath).
                                Secondly the bed roll is chargable(Rs50/-) where in its free on other train, thus the total journey fare goes up.
                                I think Indian Railway Authorities should be well versed with thier Nomenclature(naming) and the service provided by them to the public.

                                Hope yopu should be able to Name the Trains accurately in future.

                                I would like to draw your attention towards horrible service provided to us during our travel by train # 0995 from secunderabad to jaipur on 04/05/2009.

                                The attender of coach # B1 ; Mr. madanlal had harrassed us the total journey. I have not seen such a useless and ill mannered attender on any of the trains, I have travelled till date.

                                We were given all used bed sheets with pan spitted on one some of the blankets (one blanket, one white bedsheet, small dirty pillows). when we enquired with the attender; pat came the reply- I am not responsible, this is what has been provided to me.

                                when we insisted on fresh blankets, he told us do you want these available blankets or not.

                                I spoke to the TC on board, he assured us of giving fresh blankets at Nagpur.

                                At Nagpur, I spoke to the Dy. station master, he says, yes we have received the complaint but are helpless as rule book says; we cannot provide the bed rolls from any station apart from the starting point. I would like to ask the higher ups, if you people are so particular about following the rules, then the services provided should be equally good ( as per the rules laid down ).

                                When I and my co-passengers insisted for a complaint book, the attender (Mr. madanlal) says what will you do writing in the compalint book, WASTING MY TIME AND YOUR ENERGY.

                                He even went on to say that "what help have you people done to me, for which in return you are expecting any type of help from me".

                                I would like to request the higher ups and our honourable RAILWAY MINISTER, not to put people to such hardship and do not propagate about the profits the railways is making without providing any quality service. THIS IS JUST TAKING BENIFIT OF MONOPOLY AVAILABLE WITH YOU.

                                I expect the concerned persons at railways to take stringent action against Madanlal and the concerned people for puting us to such hardship after paying the total amount of tickets.
                                We too have faced abnormal service in this Falaknama Express down, from Howrah to Hyderabad. The train was full of small cockroaches. After the train left howrah, within half an hour one surveyor with some survey forms came to us and tried to first convince us that they do this and that, then when I asked about those cockroaches he brought somebody and said that the person will spray the insect killer asap. But unfortunately he didn’t come till we left the train in Hyderabad. Most absurdity is that the surveyor kind of instruct me to tick ‘excellent’ and ‘very good service’ in every field ; he said if I tick lower than that his job will be over…….so funny. I asked to bring the form in the end of the journey but he kind of forced me to fill it right then only. We had 1 sick infant with us and got scared during the whole journey. Even the train was much dirty than Falaknama Express up one, which was not that bad. The food rates were also quite high, though that’s ok. During the whole journey by this this train up and down(Hyderabad to Howrah and Howrah to Hyderabad), we 3 adult paid at least rupees 1500 for lunch, dinner and breakfast. The attendants were quite careless and arrogant also. Even at night the outside hawkers were pulling out the curtains badly and laughing and making fun so cheaply as if we were sleeping in footpath perhaps; this was also quite annoying. We hope to get a little better service and clean and fresh atmosphere after paying about rupees 11000 for tatkal internet booking for three adults in 2nd AC sleeper coach and about rupees 2000 for food in train.

                                Indian Railways — No provision of fresh sheets in AC coach

                                I was travelling in 1123-Barauni Gwalior Mail on August 6th, 2009 in B1 coach from Unnao to Gwalior with reserved berth numbers 62 and 63.
                                This is to bring into notice the carelessness and inefficiency of the appointed attendants.First of all, no bedding was provided by the attendants to me. When I repeatedly demanded for the same, I was told by the attendant Dharmendra(/Dhirendra) that no fresh sheets and blankets were available and only USED SHEETS AND BLANKETS COULD BE PROVIDED TO ME.When I insisted on availing fresh bedding, I was told that FRESH SHEETS AND BLANKETS ARE NEVER MADE AVAILABLE IN BARAUNI MAIL!! Ultimately, I was compelled to accept those used dirty sheets (not even ironed properly).
                                This exposes the hypocrisy and undutifulness that is seated deep in the habits of the attendants.They do not care to make provisions for fresh sheets but rather force passengers to compromise for the used ones. Kindly look into the matter and please do take strict action.

                                Why Southern Railways was not taking any action when it is traffic from Bangalore to Tuticorin is more. I request to introduce special train on every Friday from Bangalore to Nagercoil and return on Sunday. It will helps more citizens to travel comfortable by train rather going by bus.
                                I would like to inform you, that Main Line ( Villupuram-mayiladuthurai) section, Passenger traffic is more. But Gauge Covnversion itself is delaying. Also iam from Kumbakonam.Its a town with lot of temples. But Trains is very low. Moreover proposal of Kumbakonam to Namakkal plan was dropped. Plz look this section for any new such plan

                                sir i am from kumbakonam there is proper train to chennai, in sat&sun the buses are also rushed beyond this the buses are diverted towards via mayiladuthurai. so the travelling hours is upto 7 hrs to reach chennai.pls i want to know wat happen for delaying villupuram-mayiladuthurai gauge conversion project.sir we are eagerly waiting for introduce a train via main line.pls we are expecting a train from oct-2009.kindly look about this section.

                                Indian Railways — Hawkers in Nagpur Railway Station

                                Dear sir,

                                I usually visit Nagpur, I want to bring to your notice that the hawkers who sell goods in Nagpur railway station charges more than the printed rate in the product. I can give you a better example of packaged drinking water which is sold at the station, which is generally Rs. 12 at every station, but you can get at Rs. 15 in nagpur railway station. If you tell them this is illegal, they straight forwardly tell that you can complaint anywhere as we have to give commisions to the officers in railways etc.

                                Please look into this issue, I will appreciate if you can take an action.

                                Southern Railway — providing used blankets

                                With regards to above complaint subjected , we traveled in train no. 0650 on 16/12/2009 from Katpadi to Ernakulam JN IN 3 tier A/C, Our ticket no.PNR NO. [protected] & [protected] B1 38,41 & 42 .
                                The boggie official are not provided us fresh (un used) blankets and pillow , when we check with attender regarding this issue he is not responded , then he speaks rashly , unrespect .
                                This cleanless will cause unhyginic to the passengers , such attenders words makes passenger disappointment,
                                so kindly take necessary action against the attender , and pay us necessary claim to our uncomfort journey .
                                If it in not paid to us, we will file this same in consumer court.

                                Indian Railways — Kharagpur-Nagpur-Pune

                                On 19-22 Dec 2009, I travelled from Kgp-Pne in Gitanjali and Azad Hind Expresses.

                                The condition of the reserved passengers and irctc staff because of excess passengers is worse than the passengers in General Bogies.
                                The TTE and GRP only find excuses an ddont help passengers or the catererers delivering food. They take bribes and let more passengers inand blame the Wait Listing practices.
                                All other railway employees like drivers, signalmen and trackmen work to run trains safely and timely. But the TTE and Police only collect bribes and give IR a bad name.
                                The toilets and passageways were never cleaned by the appointed staff in both trains.

                                It is not like this in the kgp-Delhi, and kgp-Chennai route. Your TTEs and RP and GRP, are worse than
                                and more dishonest than Naxalites and terrorists.

                                I have already made complaints on Board and in Gondia Station
                                Sir, can you let me know what happened to Proposal of Kumbakonam to Namakkal railway route. And I want to know the status of the same.
                                The proposal for laying a new broad gauge line from Kumbakonam to Namakkal had been pending with the Ministry for a long time. The survey was already over and the project was waiting for the approval of the Planning Commission and the Union Cabinet.

                                The scheme would be beneficial to drought-hit Perambalur district, and to the proposed lignite mining industry and thermal power plant at Jayamkondam
                                I heartly request to indian railway to improve everything in train "4673/74 shaheed express (Mon, Wed, Thu, Sat)" cum "4649/50 saryu-yamuna express (sun, tue, fri)" from amritsar to jaynagar and vice versa. This is good train because it has less stoppage than "5273/74 satyagrah exp.". But indian railway has no tension for this train. They dont clean any coach of this train. They have no pantry in this train till it goes to amritsar from jaynagar and it have 8 sleeper class, 1 2AC coach, 1 3AC coach. This train is also very much late. Whats reason for it till it has less stoppages. Why this good train get treated badly by indian railway? I am sure if they take care of this fact about shaheed exp it must be a good train as vaishali exp, gorakhdam exp etc. I again request heartly to indian railway to care for this train. I hope they do it. God bless them.

                                Kindly change the time of ERNAD EXPRESS from Nagercoil to Mangalore. Now it starting from
                                Nagercoil at 2.A.M.in Midnight with very few passengers. If it is started at 5.A.M.in morning the train will be almost full. So I request you change the train times of 6349-Parusuram Express and 6606-Ernad express to Mangalore should be changed immediately.

                                Of late many accidents are taking place in recent past. Collusion of rails with humanlives-with elephants-with train as a whole. Railways trying hard to stop accidents. But accident continues. My suggestion is that- ALL THE RAILWAY DRIVERS AND ASSISTENTS IN THE ENGINE BE PROVIDE GOOD BINOCULAR.                                 I am very sorry to inform you that in LUCKNOW railway station all the platforms are dirty very much and there is not enough seats to sit for passengers waiting for their train.
                                This is very strange there is enough place for sitting in small railway stations but in central railway station more over in capital city LUCKNOW this is looks like shameful.

                                I travelled from HWH to Bhubaneswar by 2881 Garib rath express in coach no. G-14 and birth No. 58.
                                Care taker first denied to issue the Bed roll on payment of Rs. 25/- and than when I told him that complaint being lodged so he issued dirty 1 bed sheet in lieu of 2 and not provided any bill.
                                No T.C. checked the ticket so i could not take any matter with him.

                                This practice is usual practice in HWH-BBSR and BBSR-HWH Garib rath in which I travel frequently.
                                1.Pl. inform whether it is a duty of care taker to provide bed roll on birth or passenger has to collect.
                                2.whether it is a duty of care taker to issue money receipt or not.

                                In this train most of the time Ticket checker never visit to check the tkts and care taker take the advantages by providing birth to unresrved passengers on sum.

                                The Indian Railways lack clear perception. For example, in Gujarat, a railway line from Bhavnagar to Tarapur, which has been in demand for 60 years, never gets attention. This project has been surveyed at least three times.This 130 km link can cut distance between South Gujarat and Bhavnagar by 200 kms. This can save fuel, speed up transport and contribute to industrialisation of the area. Dholera, a fast developing city, which has no railway connection now, falls on this track. As railways were sleeping with the project, state government made broad road on this track, which is overflowing with traffic. There is accident everyday due to heavy traffic.

                                This line can also reduce congestion in Ahmedabad and take the load of Saurashtra trains. But railway officials in Delhi do not know the topography, neither the problems of hundreds of salt workers and factories in this area, which is called Bhal on the western coast of Gulf of Cambay. Result, salt worth crores of rupees gets washed to sea back as they cannot be transported. Storage is also very costly.

                                People suffer. But who cares ? Every time after railway minister announces budget, some local papers raise their voices. This is never heard in Delhi. Biggest joke is Mamta announced Bhavnagar - Tarapur (near Cambay town) and Bhavnagar-Mahuva as socially desirable projects. But in the Railway list, it disappeared, even for survey now. If Mamtaji has heart for the poort, let her visit poor salt workers of this region. Our former PM Indira Gandhi during her visit to Bhavnagar was moved and tried to put it on fast track. But unfortunately she was killed.
                                Poor people of Bhal still continue to produce thousands of tonnes of salt. They hope every year railway line will come and they can send their salt by rail wagons. But when ? Only Mamtaji knows.
                                Meanwhile private bus and truck operators are minting crores here which should otherwise have been in Railway income. S P Iyer
                                I agree and support strongly Mr Iyer's comment. This railway project and also Bhavnagarf - Mahuva via Alang needs urgent consideration. It can fetch tremendous income for Railways, as Dholera too is a fast progressive area, with the Gujarat government having signed more than Rs 1 lakh crores MoU recently in this area. Mukesh Vaidya
                                I have one suggestion, Its time for us to upgrade our coaches. If see other countries they have developed so much and i hardly see anything has changed in IR for past 15 years.

                                I think its time to introduce Vacuum based Toilets which indicators vacant or filled toilets within the coach itself. Vacuum based toilets will help in having the tracks clean and neat also.

                                The Garbage box kept in the AC coach is not enough for sure it gets filled in just 5 hours of starting of journey in long distance trains, so we need to have bigger garbage box in all compartments

                                Even its will be nice to have garbage box in every cabin by making whole in compartment so that garbage will be put there which will generate revenue to IR and will keep the environment clean. Kiran

IN SUMMER VACATION OF THE CHILDREN IN MUMBAI ALL THE UTTARBHARTI WANT TO GO TO THEIR VILLAGE BUT THEY DO NOT GET THE CONFIRM TICKET .AND I THINK THAT APPROXIMATELY 60 PERCENT OF PEOPLE OF THIS DISTRICT HAVE GONE TO MUMBAI FOR JOBS .

                                I want to bring into your notice a shameful experience I have encountered with the "New Delhi-Kalka Shatabdi Express" in which I travelled yesterday. The food that was served to us was pathetically bad. The entire food was cold and set like a jelly. The dal was dried up and set like a pudding. The paneer dish was sweet like a dessert and rotis were badly tough. There is no provision of attaching pictures otherwise I would have done it. A fruit juice was served named"Ditto". I just do not understand that why INDIAN RAILWAYS cannot provide some good branded juices like FROOTI etc.
                                Overall a very bad experience and a shameful condition that I faced. Me and my family left the meal as it is and did not eat even one-fourth of the meal
                                We were seated in Coach no C-6 seats no 30, 31, 32 and 33. We boarded the train from chandigarh at 6:15 pm.
                                I will never dine at any of the shatabdi trains as I had bad stomach this morning !!!

                                Kacheguda Bangalore Super fast exp should be extended Up to Mysore city. Daily there are lot many people travel to Hyderabad & not even single train is there to hyd. This shows Indian railways is neglecting connectivity to Mysore. Train will stand in Bangalore whole day instead it can be send to Mysore. train can leave MYS at 3 10PM and reach Bangalore at 5 45PM and the same train can leave Bangalore by 6 10 pm current timings.

                                Indian Railways — Overcharging at Railway Platform for water

                                I was at New Delhi Railway Station on 27 July 2011 to catch the A/C Special TRain to Lucknow in the night.
                                At the platform, when I went to buy water, the vendor told me I would need to pay Rs. 15 when the rate is Rs. 12. I was told that is the rate whether I buy it anywhere in the whole station. The extra Rs. 3, I was told, is for cooling the water!!!
                                I am attaching pictures of the vendor and his license.
                                Please take necessary action to ensure passengers are not blatantly cheated like this.
                                I imagine this isn't a case of a single vendor cheating but a prevalent practice throughout the platform in the capital city of India. Even on board the train, vendors weren't selling stuff at the printed prices.

                                Hello Sir,
                                I would like to tell you that we have very less (2) direct train from Bangalore (Karnataka) to Jabalpur (M.P.). I'm staying at Bangalore since 3 years & I have to go to my native which is Jabalpur. I found huge ratio of the people in bangalore which belongs to this region. Every time when we want to go to Jabalpur by train, we do not get the the ticket after reservation opens 90 days before & it fulls within a day. It is very difficult to get the train facility in this route as less no. of trains are available & no tickets available for no. of passanger of this route.

                                Kindly check the status & provide some new direct trains for this route, It will be very helpfull for the people who are not able to go to their native even if it is sudden & urjent for them, unless they have booked the ticket within the 2 hrs or a day of reservation opens.Due to lack of availablity of train & seats the brockers are taking the benefit & asking huge amnt for the ticket which they make available for customer som how. It is very difficult to servive for common people. Thanks to understand the Issue & provide some beneficial solution.

                                Indian Railway — Inhuman approach with passenger

                                Dear Sir, It is inhuman approach with the passengers of Local train no - 59049. It is taking time of more than 1 Hrs to travel between Maninagr to Ahmedabad, the distance is only 3 Km. The reason is only low priority. If Railway think they can plan and can do for this
                                Recently Indian Railways started allowing Passanger to book their tickets 120 days before, compare to 90 days earlier. This is creating more difficulties to get confirmed ticket even if booking 110 days before. This must be ROLLBACKED.

                                Sendin in while travelling in the train. I'm travelling from Avantika Express from Indore to Mumbai. The attitude of the attendent seems like he's giving us a free ride. I'm in AC 2 tier and the cooling is extremely high. Plus the compartment I'm in seems to hv a broken window wid air coming in all through on the head and so when asked for an extra bed sheet (which were available luckily) the attendent refused outrightly and asked us to travel in sleeper instead if we find ac too cold. Ridiculous attitude... And if not he wans money for an extra quilt... And it's surprising to know that there is no official website for indian railways where complaints can be dealt with seriously. The system all together is ruptured from the very ground level I would say. And by writing this I want to take a step ahead in spreading awareness about what to find while travelling in a train and what not to be ok with at all.

                                Its very sad situation at all main railway stations like delhi/pune/mumbai/HBD and other that there are no clean & easy private retiring/waiting rooms for connecting passengers.

                                If some family wants to travel from pune to rudrapur (uttaranchal) via delhi then there is gap of many hours. People want to become fresh/rest for few hours. Please try to eastablish PAID `public-private PARTNERSHIP ` ``Rest-room facility`` on hourly basis in all categories like Non AC/AC/DELUX.

                                On NZM railway station retireing rooms are congested & so dirty that any body will feel nauseated.

                                We are forced to take near by costly .Hotel.

                                Secondly coolie system should be changed to coupens system.For small bag 15 Rs. Medium bag Rs.20- Large bag 30 Rs. coupen should be issued at various counters & coolies should follow that.
                                Its realy a great problem.

                                  I came to Varanasi Jn to pickup train Tapti ganga exp. on 19/07/08 . I put sootcase below seat since train was going to start when I was on seat three persone came with news paper & statrted reading by defolding paper, At the same time they are success to stolen my sootcase having lots of jwellary & new cloths having cost around one lac .Kindly be aware about such type of incident & allert from such persons during train journey.

                                    Dear Sir,

                                    Indian railway is supposed to be biggest railway in world, but to my dismay the services provide by the Indian Railway are degrading day by day. I am not sure what is the problem behind all this. I would like to pay all your attention towards these problem face by me and my family on 11/07/2008 travelling by Jammu Radhani train no 2425 i.e. New Delhi to Jammu Tawi.
                                    There was so many problems like

                                    1) When we reached to the 3rd AC Coach, the coach was not at the right place as indicated on each indicator, you can understand it will create hazard for aged peiple, children and luggages. I was really shocked to see all miss managements of coaches.

                                    2) Food served in train was very bad quality.

                                    3) Train was not proper clean and cockroaches and mosquitoes was running and flying every where.

                                    4) In train we got a packet containing bedsheet, towel, pillow when ask for towel as mention on cover of packet, T.T told that towel is not available.

                                    5) Delay in Ice cream supply at 10:30 till maximum passengers get sleep.

                                    We were really shocked and annoyed why we will pay exact fare it no fair services. As you are the honorable Railway Minister of India and we will hope that you will be the Railway Minister of India for next coming years.

                                    Please solve all these problem that has to be face not only by me but also so many passengers who are traveling. daily by this train.Being a Common Citizen could do nothing but please some representative take some action to improve the train system so that traveling became more hygienic and enjoyable.Kindly took some actions in do this matter.

                                      Sir,

                                      For worshipping Shiradi Sai Baba, from Chennai, I have booked a SL Ticket for Traine No.1042 on 09.07.08 for myself and 4 of my friends. On 09.07.08 morning, the status of our ticket was that the first 3 passengers berth were confirmed. For Passenger 4 & 5, the position was RAC 71 in Coach No.S3. Everything was fine upto this.

                                      After boarding the Train, the TTR allotted Berth Nos.8 & 10 in Coach No.S1 and advised me to leave RAC 71 in S3 Coach. So, we have occupied our seats in S1 Coach. At about 2100 hours, when i requested the co-passengers for middle birth(which is No.8), I was surprised to see that the other person was claiming to be his seat. To my utter shock, he showed a Confirmed Tatkal Ticket for Seat Nos.8 & 9 in his favour. After an hour's search, I understood that a TTR is available at S7 Coach. The responsible TTRs told me that "the train is already nearing Guntakkal and we are leaving out of the train and so I can lodge a complaint to the TTR who will be boarding the Train at Guntakkal, at 1030 pm. So, I was sitting at Coach S7 for the incoming TTR.

                                      When the train stopped at Guntakkal, at around 1030 p.m., two TTRs boarded the Coach. When I told that I was neither permitted to occupy RAC 71 in Coach S3 as listed in the Chart nor to occupy Seat No.8 at Coach No.S1, the TTR simply said, HE CANNOT DO ANYTHING AND I HAVE TO FORGO BOTH RAC & CONFIRMED BERTH!!!???

                                      I request the authorities concerned, TO WHOMSOEVER IT MAY CONCERN, to advise me, what sort of compensation I CAN avail of, due to the stress, strain, mental agony and ill-treatment of my sitting near Toilets of SL Coach, sleeplessly, as if i am a ticketless traveller?

                                        I travelled in Mysore-Myladuthurai train (6232) on 11th July, 2008 on S11 coach with my husband. Our berth numbers were 15 and 16, which are supposed to be Side Lower and Side Middle. The Ticket Collector came and checked our tickets. A passenger approached us and said that he was alloted a side berth. We told him we have been alloted the side lower and side upper. The ticket collector then came and told us that that side middle berth is alloted to that passenger. Then only we realized that there is additional berth. The space was so cramped. I believe the allotment of side middle berths have not been started because we still have the old numbering (1 - 64), the ticket collector has taken money from people with waiting list tickets and alloted seats to them. The space was so cramped. The reserved compartment was like a general compartment where anyone can get into the train with a general ticket, pay money to the ticket collector and get a berth. I really wonder who gave this idea of adding side middle berth. Side berths are so cramped and messy. The idea of adding an addition middle berth to side berth has only created inconvenience to the passengers. Passengers quarrel among themselves because of the faults of ticket collectors.

                                        My return journey was even more worse. I came back from Trichy to Bangalore on July 13th, 2008 on Train 6231 (Myladuthurai - Mysore express) on S1 coach. We have confirmed tickets but no place to even sit in the coach. We have tickets with old numbering system (1-64) but the numbering system in the train is new (1-81 - 9 berths per cabin). When I asked the Ticket collector, he was blaming another ticket collector that he has allotted seats to people with waiting list tickets. It took 1 hour for him to give us berths. I heard from one couple with 11 months baby who had been originally alloted a lower berth travelled from Myladurai to Pettavathalai on Upper berth. This is ridiculous. The ticket collectors should not create so much inconvenience to the passengers. People with waiting list tickets are sititng on the berths but passengers with confirmed tickets have no place to sit.

                                        I'm not sure if there is anyway or anyone to take action against such unscrupulous ticket collectors. Trains are no longer comfortable. The idea of adding side middle berth is ridiculous. Passengers do not have sufficient place to sit, neither they do have place to keep their luggages. Ticket collectors should prohibit people with waiting list tickets to enter into the reserved compartments till they are alloted berths. Because of such unscrupulous ticket collectors, trains are no longer safe as anyone can just get into the reserved compartments, pay money to the ticket collectors and get a berth.

                                        I request to the Indian Railways department to take action against such ticket collectors. If Indian Railways cannot do anything to increase the comfort level of the train journey, it is ok, but they much not take such steps that make our train journey worse.

                                        Yes, Please remove side middle from the Trains in SL, 3AC. It is very inconvenient for everybody.
                                        If people with age above 50 cannot sleep in the side upper, side middle.

                                        I really agree with all the people who are taken for a ride, i am not sure whether the order for scrapping side middle is in place, but the ticket collectors are definitely pocketing enough money to have a side house built on the bribe they take to allot the seat and trouble the passengers, it so happened on train number 6590 [Rani chennmma exp], the TT was royally collecting money and alloting to all the passengers with a running ticket.
                                        For gods sake, not Lalu has gone, please remove this sidemiddle berth, and save the trains,
                                        Can the concerned authorities wake up, please collect all the money by refabricating the coaches from the great railway minister .
                                        I totally agree with the ridiculous idea of adding a middle berth in between a Side Upper and a Side Lower berth. This is a design flaw and should be removed with immediate effect. If this had been a good idea, the it would been in th first place itself, when such coaches were introduced.

                                        People alloted to this side middle berth are very uncomfortable to sleep or eat. The AC Passengers do not get the space to keep the linens/blanket. They have to seat in the usual berths. The passengers sitting in Side Upper and Side lower face this inconvenience.

                                        This idea was mooted by Lalu Prasad Yadav, the money hungry politician, which is flop. We'll need to write to Mamta Banerjee to stop this practice of altering the coaches and remove the already altered ones.

                                        please draw your kind notice about the thing of quarrelling with passengers hand to hand & sitting on the lap of passengers & very rude behavior of milkman & native area persons in first compartment of every shuttle coming from mathura kosi, in the left side portion of compartment from first gate back portion .
                                        this is the daily unbearable problem for passenger

                                        Your request to Indian Railways department will not be attended to obviously. As a common man we can fight it though, but if we are not bothered year after year the situation is already out of hand. I was once traveling in a AC I with a high ranking railway official. Infact he was so high ranking that all officials in the train were bowing before him. He himself was shaking his head in shame looking at the overcrowding of AC compartments and the general harassment of passengers at every station. things are not going to change ma'am, its a huge business, lots of money involved.
