Dear Sir, I am a senior citizen of Bhopal. When I was travelling to Kerala by Kerala Express on 25/12/08 my bag was stolen away in between Itarsi to Nagpur Station. The suit case was locked with chain. Near about 4000 rupees was lost. The same was happened with 5 more people in the compartments S2 and S3. When I got down to complaint at Ballarsha station the RPF personnels denied to take my complaint. The disguisting thing which we noticed was that there were no RPF personnels in the train and even train superintentend was not present in the train on that day. Sir, This is a serious case which the authorities have to take care of. Now we are afraid to travel in train. Who is responsible for this? Sir Who will answer to this ? Please enquire the same and kindly take immediate action.

Railway — STOLEN OF VALUBLES IN RUNNING TRAIN

I THE ABOVE SIGNED HAS RESERVATON ON TRAIN NO. 2450 (GOA SAMPARK K EXP.) FROM H. NIZAMUDIN ON MAY 23, 2009, COATCH NO. S3 SEATS NO. 64-68

MY VALUBLES COSTING ARROUND 1.5LAC (DETAILED LIST REGISTRED WITH PHOTOCPIES OF THE PURCHASE INVOICE WITH PANVEL RAILWAY POLICE) WHICH INCLUDES GOLD JEWELLARY, CASH, MOBILES AND DIGITAL CAMERA AND ABOVE HAS BEEN STOLEN IN RUNNING TRAIN BETWEEN SURAT AND VASAI.

WE HAD NOTICED THAT OUR BAG WAS STOLEN JUST BEFORE OU R TRAIN HAS REACHED AT VASAI

WE FOUND NO GUARDS AND T.T./T.C. IN THE TRAIN TO HELP US.

WE HAD COMPLAINED THE SAME WITH PANVEL RAILWAY POLICE STATION

1.Theft of my purse from Running train,Train No-12812,Train Name-Hatiya Kurla ,I was travelling from Raipur to Bhusaval,valuables of nearly 11000 Rs.My very imp. documents like PAN Card/Driving license/ATM's got lost along with my mobile number & my return ticket from Mumbai to Raipur of samarsatta express also got lost.
2.This all happened just train left from Badnera (maharashtra).I was boarding at S6 number 5 birth.
3.I have filed FIR at Bhusaval station,now if I have to issue a duplicate ticket for my return.Railway is denying to issue that without I-card they can't do it.
Now here I raise my objection if I have lost everything & I have applied an FIR,that too not at my native place,how could I produce a I card & FIR itself is a judicial proof of same.

Third very important is anything lost in Railway is railways property & railways dutie to help me in all sort to realize & after not doing so,how could u not issue me my duplicate.
I feel I should go against railways in consumer forum for same.PLs assist

I was travelling in Gondwana Express coming from jabalpur to New Delhi on 13th june 2010. 14th June early morning at 1.15 a.m. train stopped at jhansi station and my purse was stolen in which there were abt 25000 Rs. Chain was pulled , police came. But the theif ran away. Coach No. HA1 seat number 9. In 2 tier avc also there is no safety. What is indian railways doing? I want reimbursement from Indian railways.
my purse, my mother's purse purse along with another lady's purse has been stolen around 4:00am from the train. my wife saw a person removing the handle of the purse from her hand who got down from the slow moving train at end of bilimora station. 3 purses from different ladies has been stolen. he dragged my wife till door along with purse and it would have been worst situation...there is no police in the compartment nor in entire train as per tt M L Yadav who did not co operated at all...they have not worn any batch as well.. there are two TT who are not ready to give their names, they are without the batch and not even supportive to help. After repetitive request one tt said his name his M.L.Yadav but not ready to give his batch number. as per him there is no police in the entire train.another tt from different compartment had a talk with the people who has stolen our purses...they were without reservation when v checked list from tt. ..this has disturbed us a lot n no police in entire train and also such behavior and attitude of Indian railways tt has given a big shock. ..v have also asked for complaint book to tt but he is not ready to give. ..plz guide us. ...n take strict action against such pathetic tts who are running from their duties and might also involved with thief. ..v r v v disturbed n in panic situations. ..pls its humble request to take action also for future n that passengers r not harassed in such way.
HANDBAG WAS STOLEN AND GOLD, MOBILE AND CASH WORTH AROUND 2 LACS WERE STOLEN WHILE TRAVELLING FROM NEW DELHI TO MUMBAI IN 12952 RAJDHANI EXP. ON THE 14TH OF OCTOBER AT AROUND 0300 HRS. NO GRP IN TRAIN HENCE NOBODY TO CHECK. FIR LODGED AT MUMBAI CENTRAL GRP STATION WHICH WAS LATER TRANSFERRED TO BARODA GRP AS VALUABLES WERE LOST AT AROUND THAT STATION.
A SUSPICIOUS MAN WAS SPOTTED BY A CO PASSENGER WITH A TORCH IN HAND WEARING CHECK SHIRT AT AROUND SAME TIME LOOKING AROUND IN ALL THE COACH WHILE WE WERE FAST ASLEEP . TRIED LOOKING FOR HIM BUT COULD NOT LOCATE AFTER THEFT HAPPENED.HE MIGHT HAVE LEFT TRAIN AT BARODA STATION WITH STOLEN GOODS.
IF CCTV FOOTAGE CAN BE CHECKED OF BARODA STATION WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO LOCATE THE THIEF LEAVING STATION
THIEF CAN BE LOCATED VIA THE IMEI NO. OF MOBILE IF PUT ON SERVEILENCE WHENEVER THE MOBILE IS USED, THE THIEF CAN BE LOCATED. IMEI NO. IS [protected]
IT IS A REGULAR FEATURE TO HAVE THEFTS IN RAJDHANI AND SHATABDI TRAINS AS THERE IS NO GRP AND MOREOVER THE CONFIDENCE AND FEELING OF SECURITY WOULD MAKE ANY PASSENGER FEEL SAFE AND SECURE.
ALL THE STAFF INCLUDING TTE SHOULD THEIR HELPLESSNESS IN LOCATING THE LOST GOODS AS THEY FEAR ACTION BY THEIR HIGHER AUTHORITIES IF THEY TRY AND SEARCH A SUSPICIOUS CHARACTER.
PLS TAKE THIS MATTER SERIOUSLY AS IT HAMPERS THE CONFIDENCE OF MILLIONS OF PASSENGERS ON TO THE RAILWAYS TO PROVIDE THEM FEELING OF SAFETY AND SECURITY.
My Mom's presently travelling on train number 15902 Dimapur to Bangalore., This morning at 4:00am, her hand bag was stolen at NEW BONGAIGAON. She has no money for the journey and also lost her debit card, PAN card, travelling ticket and Rs.6000 cash. Please assist us with any emergency contact to hand over some money for her fooding as she is a Senior Citizen travelling alone., Its really urgent to get this sorted out as she has 3 more days to spend in train as we did not come across a contact number to report the theft.

Please assist at the earliest.

When my father in law ; sh bijoy Singh & my Mrs aradhana Singh & two daughters travelling in shaktipunj exp ; no 11447; JBP to HWH on DT.22.12.2014 boarding at marwasgram at 10;35 am. During travelling in train on 23.12.2014; maroon colour trolley bag has stollen/theft at 05.00 am between dhanbad and asansol it may be at kumardhubhi station.the bag consist of clothes; canon camera of Rs 17000/-; Cash Rs 10000/- & charger and medicine etc.we have lodge complain ref.no.W/WC/JBP/[protected] on the same day DT.23.12.2014.
Please assist at the earliest.

An incident happened with me while travelling through train (3AC) in Indore Pune express. Someone cut my bag and took jewellery of worth 4 lacks. This incident happened between Vasai road to Katraj. I lost all my saving in one shot. Now if 3AC is also not safe where the passenger travel.

Please help me or guide me to get my things back. I have lodged a FIR as well.
With lot of happiness we were returning from the Banaras Yatra on 26/10/2015. me and my wife boarded the train at Varanasi at 1.15 am on 26/10/2015. I fastened the two suitcases we had ( one red & one blue) with a chain under the seat in S 6 coach at birth no 37. our berths were 38 & 39 (middle & upper).Both the suitcases were also safely locked. Morning around 6.30 am i woke up hearing the cries of my wife who was yelling see both our suitcases are gone all our things are gone. the prasad, photos my wife's mangalsutra of 52 grams gold and a gold bangle of 20 grams, my two hearing aids of worth Rs.25000 each, all new and old clothes etc. we were left with the dress we were wearing. We approached the RPF staff who were supposed to guard the train from thefts who told us that we have to get down at the destination, that is, Chennai and complaint to the RPF there. We pleaded with them as to how that is possible when the theft has taken place somewhere near Allahabad. This pleading with the RPG was as we were nearing Sagma station. Ultimately the RPG directed us to Mr. HR Meena the TTE who in turn was helpful and remorseful for our loss. TTE told us that 10 compartments are affected by this theft including AC compartments and we are one of the 10. moreover he was even stating that thieves target south bound trains in this route as south Indians have gold with them. and this happens on and often in this route.Finally we could file an FIR at Katni rly station with his help. Kindly help us get our belongings.
An incident happened with me while travelling through train on 22/11/2015 (S6) in MAdhuadhi to new delhi express. Someone stolen my Blak trolly bag worth 1.5 lacks. This incident happened near about Allahabad. I lost all my saving in one shot.

During travelling in train on 22.11.2015; Black colour trolley bag has stolen/theft at 12 to 2.00 am between Maduadih to Allahabad it may be before Kanpur station.the bag consist of clothes; mangalsutra (Jwellars) ring.

Please help me or guide me to get my things back. I have lodged a FIR as well.

Haryana, India pin-121002 was travelling from Jammu tawi(JAT) to Faridabad(FDB) with my family on date 27 March 2016, by Train No. 12920/ Malwa Express in Sleeper Class RC-S5 39/47 and RC-S2 15/23/31 (PNR No. [protected] and PNR No.[protected]) . We start journey from Jammu tawi with hues rush we are unable to take seat properly due to heavy ruse in our bogie, by anyhow we took seat and checked our belongings everything is OK at there but at JALANDHAR CANT [JRC] time approximate 12:45 PM there was very big crowd we could not able to move anywhere and somebody had stolen my handbag. The bag contained:-
Debit card: Gurgaon gamin bank
Debit card: Punjab national bank
Miramax gold mobile phone
Nokia mobile phone
Soni mobile phone
Driving licence
Bike registration certificate
Bike insurance certificate
Bike pollution certificate

Kindly note that there was no any TTE attendant/ RPF officers in the bogie.
When I got down to complaint at Faridabad station the RPF personnel denied to take my complaint that day (e.g. 27.03.2016 19:50 PM) and they advised to come again because it would took time and they are ruse to go home. The disgusting thing which we noticed was that there were no RPF personals in the train and even train superintendent was not present in the train on that day.
This is a serious case which the authorities have to take care of. Now we are afraid to travel in train.
Who is responsible for this? Who will answer to this?
Please inquire the same and kindly take immediate necessary action.
Therefore you are requested to please register my F.I.R. and provide me acknowledgement for the same for further requirement to arrange my lost documents.

when i need these document for other work on date 03.08.2016 and search in black colour bag.then i can not find thats document.then i inform by online tonight and next day complant by application to nearest police station.

I was travel in dun bandra express(19020) from Jwalapur khachrod in sleeper coach no. S6 21, 23, 39 with my family at 17/9/16.In the morning of 18 sep at 4:30am my wife wake up her purse was thefted. In her purse one mobile, wrist watch, jwelleries, pan card, voter id, DL credit card, atm card and 3500 cash available.Total approx 150000rs. lost.I told to RPF for FIR but he is telling me his duty is over at next stoppez sawai madhopur.His name was HEAD CONSTABLE VEER SINGH.
Then I go to TTE for lodge fir and TTI Raj kumar sharma has lodge a fir and he give me fir receipt. And tell me that he will submit this fir at kota GRP and I can found fir copy at grp kota.When I reach kota a grp came at my berth and write some rough info about theft. when I ask for fir copy then he respond me that I can found it anywhere station in my journey so I decided I go to Nagda grp because my destination was so close with this station.But Nagda grp very bad behaved and tell me no any fir required now .Tte fir receipt is authentication of fir.Now kota grp reported me on call and give fir copy to my home adress .what the foolish grp. Pls tell me sir what I do .is this TTE fir receipt my authentic copy ? No any stamp on this paper and no fir no. only TTI name and sign with designation. What is right. I want go for consumer forum then is this fir receipt authentic action of fir? I attach this reciept

I am travelling in KAVI GURU EXP coming from GSK to KYQ on 27th Sept 2016. 28th Sept' 2016 early morning at 10.10 a.m. train stopped at Khatihar station and i self going outside from train for taken a drinking water in such a time any one theft my laptop bag. In this bag i have a laptop, my ID proof(like-Votor Id, Adhar Card), ATM Card, Medical Card and key of My Rooms.
All that thinks i am also report to TT and Railway police in trail .

I was travelling in Surat Express from Ahmedabad to Surat dated 02.02.2017 train no. 12946 and my birth no. is B1-20 no. lower birth. when i was sleeping my jacket has been theft from the train. cost of the jacket was 3000 Rupee.

Kindly look into this matter and support to me for find out my jacket.

I am a senior citizen and I traveled along with my daughter in Himachal Express Train 14554 from Una to Delhi in the morning of 25th Feb. as train was late by 5 hrs., PNR No.[protected], Coach B, SEAT 49 & 52. When train reached at Subji Mandi station a gang of 4-5 people boarded the train and started asking them to get off the seats as these seats belong to them as they are travelling from Delhi to Bareilly the final destination of train. They also offered help to take the luggage out, one person kept me engaged in talk by the time Delhi station came in fraction of seconds they cut my soft suit case from top (see picture attached) and stolen Rs.10000/- which were kept in the inside pocket of cover of suitcase along with my shaving kit bag. They also broke the lock of second suit case and stolen vanity bag of my daughter and all this they did in fraction of seconds. We could notice this only when we reached Gurugram at the residence of my son. I doubt on the attendant of the train, as they were taking to him and also doubt that he only called them by seeing us as soft target for this theft.

Kindly lodge my complaint and get my complaint investigated, check CC TV cameras, who boarded B1 coach at Subji Mandi and book the culprits at the earliest.

I went for summer vacation to my parents in Jamshedpur from 19th to 30th June, 2017 and was coming back for Varanasi. I caught Tarain no. 12875 i.e. Neelanchal express 2ac seat no 24 in the mid night of 30th at about 1.00 p.m [the date became 01.07.2017]. I was having two brief cases with me . When I reached Varanasi by 1.15 pm approx. and I came back home and get busy in my daily work. In evening by 9.30 pm I started un packing my briefcases then I saw that there is a long cut in one brief case and my two plastic boxes wherein in one box there was gold jewellery of Rs.3.20 lacs and in another box there was artificial jewellery of around Rs.20, 000 and cash of Rs.42000 is missing. Culprits succeeded in steeling [chori karna] those boxes. Safety and secuirity of passengers travelling is the responsibility of Railway. Please lodge my FIR and besides investigating the case, I should be compensated for the loss occurred.

I am really suprised on the government system of railway that in presence of attendant and TT in ac compartment how any one can do such type of act which is very risky and un exceptable.

I want to question to the railway ministry of india about the security of the passengers in railway. Kindly lodge my complaint n investigate n find the culprit.

My Parents both senior citizens were travelling in Guwahati Bangalore Train # 12510. PNR nr. [protected], B1, seat #1, 4. Near to Howrah station during the hault someone stole my Mother's Purse. She was having close to[protected] rupees along with lots of valuable items like Mobile phone and keys. They complained the TT on board but he didn't helped them rather tried diverting the topic. They are completely deserted as its their hard earned money.

I kindly request you to lodge an FIR at the urgent basis as it happened yesterday only. Along with my mother's mobile someone else mobile from the same birth got stolen. Perhaps you can trace through the mobile number which was stolen. Posting their number ( mother Gita saha- [protected], Mr. Mahesh- [protected]). This is my first FIR in my life and have full faith with in our police. Please nab the culprit at the earliest and teach them a lesson for life.

I, D.R.S.Negi S/o Late S.S.Negi, Address 1237 Abhishek, sector-3, udyan 2, Raebareilly road, Lucknow, India pin-226025 was travelling from Kalka(KLK) to Kanpur(CNB) with my family on date 26 August 2017, by Train No. 12312/Kalka Mail in 3AC Class, berth no.42 &45 (PNR No. [protected]) . We start journey from Kalka and checked our belongings everything is OK at there but at Delhi(DLI) time approximate 7 AM our strolly suitcase was not behind our seat and somebody had stolen my strolly suitcase. The suitcase contained:-
Official documents with certificate and literature,
Woolen cardigans and sweaters, suits and other clothes,
Other belonging approx. 10000 INR
When I got down to complaint at Delhi station the RPF personnel denied to take my complaint that day (e.g. 27.08.2076 7.15AM) and they advised to come again because it would took time and they are ruse to go home.
Train TTE Sri Rajendra singh lodged the FIR no.25006 and handed over one signed copy to me, which contains no stamp of GRP only signed by TTE itself.
I kindly request you to lodge an FIR at the urgent basis as it happened yesterday only. This is my first FIR in my life and have full faith with in our police and constitution. Please nab the culprit at the earliest and teach them a lesson for life.

Hi,

I am a senior citizen and was travelling along with my wife on 31st August 2017. I lost my 2 luggage (Trolley Bags) while travelling in the train (12443/HLZ ANVT WKLY SF). The PNR number is [protected]. This incident happened at Allahabad junction. A passenger who was in the lower birth along with us got down at Allahabad junction (Platform No. - 3) around 3 AM (01st September 2017) and that person stole my 2 luggage.

The 2 luggage contains the following:

1) Educational Qualification certificates
2) Voter ID Card, Aadhaar Card
3) Sarees (Rs. 15, 000)
4) Cash (Rs. 5, 000)
5) Jewellery (Rs. 10, 000)
6) 2 Trolley Bags (Rs. 9, 000)
7) Miscellaneous items

Please lodge my complaint and get my complaint investigated, check CC TV cameras of Allahabad junction (Platform No. - 3), where the passenger (who stole my 2 luggage) got down. Kindly book the culprits at the earliest so that I can get back my 2 luggage.

My family members are travelling by train from Chennai central to Daund Jn, (Train No:11028 / Mumbai mail) with AC (2A) on 24-Sept-2017. Their berth reservation numbers are A1/14, A1/16, A1/17 & A1/18.
Today in the morning at 08:00 am, the train was at GOOTY Station of Anantapur District. At that time my family member found that Gold Ornaments of 25 grams, Cash of Rs 20000/-, Aadhar Card & House keys are stolen from hand bag of CH Suhasini (Female -32 Yrs).
The same has been immediately informed to Coach T.C & registered complaint.
Please find the train ticket & complaint copy.
The theft case was also happened in the same coach with one other female passenger.
We request you for detailed investigation of the crime & to recover our lost items.
Please help us in this incident.

Sir i kishore mishra, advocate  travelling from rajdhani express 12423 from tinsukia assam to kanpur, uttarpradesh dated-30/01/2018 on coach B11 on seats 49, 50, 52 ( pnr-[protected]) with my family. In early morning of 31st at about 4:10 am somebody has stolen our black coloured bag which had 5 mobile phones, two wallets consisting all our identity proofs such as aadhar card, pan card, driving licence, and credit and debit cards and 20000 approx cash and train ticket as well. The incident happened on seat number 50 where my daughter was sleeping with the bag under her head and after a sudden movement she felt her mobile has fallen down but when she tried to find it out it was founds that her bag is missing. The compartment gate was completely open as well as the coach gate. The attendant was sleeping. And after we shouted he went to find the TTE. later both of them were searching for the train squad of policemen but they were no where available and were found approx an hour later. We have complained on every possible place and lodged an FIR in such time so.  On twitter we have sent tweets to P.M.O india as well as mr. Piyush goyal but no responses are yet provided. I have provided my IMEI number of one the phone in the bag to the GRP headquarter, guwahati
( IMEI- [protected](JIO) mob- [protected]) so that it can be tracked down by survialliance and such theft activities in RAJDHANI EXPRESS can be monitored and accused can be caught and sent behind the bars.
We are awaiting your efforts to help us get through this because we are highly affected by this incident happening in RAJDHANI EXPRESS.

    I HAVE BOOKED TICKET AT AC 2A CLASS AT INTER CITY EXP (5603) DATED 16.01.2009 FROM GUWAHATI TO SIMALUGURI ALONG WITH MY WIFE AND ONE CHILD (PNR NO. [protected]) THROUGH E TICKETING SERVICE.       Dear Sir/ Madam

      I have booked a train ticket on 24/01/2009 at Gandhinagar Train ticket booking counter (Old Sachivalay, Sector 18, Gandhinagar, Gujarat) from Ahmedabad to Koderma via Delhi. Ashram Express from Ahmedabad to Delhi and Kalka mail from Delhi to Koderma. As per rule of railways, If time duration between arrival and departure of connecting train is less than 24 hrs, it not treated as break journey and no charge will take for same.
      At Delhi the time between arrival of Ashram and Departure of Kalka mail is approx. 19.5 hrs. But the ticket booking clerk charging me for break journey. They replying that if date has change between arrival and departure of train, break journey charge apply.

      I am not convinced by them, but at least I have to book ticket by giving extra charges for Break journey.

      At least the person booking ticket for railways know the rules. If they are not aware the rules, at least ask to senior person in his department. They simply reply that either give the charges what they are asking or leave the queue.

        It would be great if tatkal tickets can be cancelled just like other tickets. Howerver, the reservation fee and tatkal charges can be deducted. If a tatkal ticket is cancelled, it can be given to other waiting list members. So, there should not be any problem in refunding the money. This is a genuine request, kindly respond.

        When a senior citizen buys a tatkal ticket, why shoud he be denied the usual concession of 30% ?

        Also why does a passenger have to pay the fare for the total distance of the train's starting and terminating stations, while his ticket is from the starting station to a station short of the terminating station??

        I booked this on 19 sep 2008, when I was booking the ticket throgh irctc Tatkal window was opened that time booked my ticket for the tatkal that time it was showing available 46 seats. I booked the ticket as per to the Tatkal quota but when I got the ticket it was 303 waiting & my amount deducted as a Tatkal quota charge.

        Kindly tell me reply as soon as possible .

        India Railways — cancellation of i tickets

        I booked 4 tickets for my return journey from Jammu to Ambala cantt PNR[protected] dt 02.12.08 thorugh I ticket. I tried to cancel the ticket on 01.12.08 at KATRA BOOKING OFFICE and on 02.12.08 at Jammu railway station, but failed to cancel the same. I bought fresh tickets PNR No[protected] at travel through Benaras express which was late by 2.40 hours.

        During my journey I found a case similer to me. Person having ticket of other train, travelling in the same train and adjusted with TT for seat and bribed him by Rs 150.00 and got confirmed seat. How is it possible? I want my money refunded for the PNR[protected].

        Indian Railways — Cancellation of tickets

        I had booked my tickets for avadh express for. Date of journey was 23rd jan, 2009. Two tickets were booked from Mumbai (Bandra) to Gonda. Due to personal reason at the last moment I had to cancel my journey. I did not have time cancel my tickets. I went to mulund station (Mumbai) to cancel my tickets on next day. I was told that it would take atleast 5 days to update our names in cancellation screen. So I went after 10 days to mulund for cancellation. Where i was told that my name was still not updated so I should go churchgate (Mumbai) to fill TDR. I went to church gate but I was told that tdr can be filled from orgin station so that should go to Bandra. I went to Bandra where I was told that I should go to churchgat since TDR filling happens from the that station only. I met the station master who refuse to fil TDR for me. He did not guide further for cancellation. One of his colleagues also misbehaved with me. Now I don’t know here I should go and file my TDR. On request I can produce original ticket and reason to cancel my journey at the last moment.

        Indian Railways — Tatkal E- Tickets

        I had an unique experience during online reservation for an incomplete transaction, too notice that I was billed for two e-tickets for the single person from the same credit card. "Service unavailable" page came during the booking process.
        Gods save all these people who are involved with Indian Railways!
        I have faced such problem many times before. This happens because our internet connection is intermittent and will lose the network with the bank while transacting. But Indian railways has promptly returned the money back to my bank account automatically within 2 days. Check with your bank else call the customer care number.
        realy it was very disapointing i have my tatkal e-ticket..bt still ticket checke fined me jst because i lost my id proof..n charge me same amount again with 250 extra..n without giving my previous amount.. it was realy a bad expenice.. hope railway will take some action in favour of me
        Totaly agree with your view. Why should railways charge 75% of fare+tatkal charges, what r they loosing incase of cancellation?.. sense should prevail and they should apply same cancellation charges as applicable to non-tatkal ticket while holding tatkal charges.

        However due to certain circumstances, I realized on 19/07/2009 that we can't make the journey. So I went to the station for the cancellation, but because it was Sunday, the counters remain open only till 1400hrs.
        My situation here is that even if I wish to Cancel my ticket well before the 24hrs deadline for flat rate deductions (Clause- A confirmed ticket is cancelled more than 24 hrs before the scheduled departure of the train, flat cancellation charges shall be deducted @ Rs.70/- for AC First Class/Executive Class, Rs.60/- for AC 2 Tier/AC 3Tier/First Class/AC Chair car, Rs.40/- for Sleeper Class and Rs.20/- for Second Class. Cancellation charges are per passenger.) which is Rs 60/-per passenger in this case, I have no option left but to wait till next day morning and fall in time duration i.e. within 24 hrs and upto 4 hours before the scheduled departure of the train (Clause- A confirmed ticket is cancelled within 24 hrs and upto 4 hours before the scheduled departure of the train, cancellation charges shall be 25% of the fare subject to the minimum flat rate mentioned in the above clause).

        My point here is that even if there is ample time (1400hrs to 2045hrs) on 19/07/2009, i can't cancel my ticket due to office timings and thus have to pay higher cancellation charges.

        So I kindly request you to consider an action for certain situation and if possible provide me the difference amount as soon as possible.

        it would be really nice if normal cancellation policy and charges are applied to tatkal ticket cancellation, minus tatkal charges...nobody would unnecessarily buy ticket at premium and then cancell it, contigencies make people to change plans ..hence this should be considered

        There was a tickect booked vide PNR [protected] but it was cancelled on the same day. The passenger did not travel with the PNR due to unexpected reason. This was very surprising that I have not received the complete refund. The refund amount by railway is not correct. The charged amount was 1399/- but refund amount is 271/-. Earlier also I had booked/cancell the tickets but never happen like this. They can deduct the nominal charges of booking but they cannot charge the complete amount for the journery which never take place. The ticket which was cancell by me was again available for the other person who wants to travel. This is not the way of making money and upbring the railway department in profits. How can they charge me for the service which I haven't use, they can deduct their booking charges but they cannot charge me for the journey which i didn't travel.

        Kindly look into this matter and help me.

        from so many days the tatkal seva is not properly used because of the agents . agents are booking the ticket and selling it as per their choices. so finally the passenger is suffering and paying the price which is much higher compare to original price.
        solution- bring the system of photo on the ticket for tatkal seva only. so the agents will not book the ticket.

        I planned for kashmir trip total 8 person.
        I booked two set of ticket. one from howrah to delhi through puja special train and another from delhi to jammu through rajdhani express (tatkal). The puja special train reached 10 hours delay at delhi as a result my jammu train failed i collected the late slip at delhi.

          We travelled from bhavnagar to bandra in sleeper class. We had RAC ticket. Railways, due to nonavailability of berths, could allot us two seats on side berth. We requested TC to give refund of difference of fare of Sleeper (SL) and 2nd Sitting (2S) for these two tickets. TC replied that Railways are not obliged to give refund of difference as per rules. If sittings alloted is not acceptable to passangers, they can opt to get tickets cancelled at the station counter before departure of train.
          While booking tickets full fare of sleeper class is given for both passangers for RAC. Base fares excluding reservation & superfast charges for express train for the subject kilometers (778 Kms) are Rs. 275 for sleeper and Rs.152 for sitting reservations. Thus Refund of difference Rs.123 per passangers (total 246) should have been given. If this refund is not entertainable as per railway rules, it amounts to double the sleeper fare being charged for single berth by railways which is not good trade practice. Thus Passanger is looser and Railways is unjustified gainer getting double fare for single berth at the cost of inconvenience to passanger!!

            I, alongwith my family visited Mumbai from Delhi on 26.12.2008 in August Kranti Rajdhani (2953) (PNR no. [protected]). In the dinner served a dead mosquito was found in salad. The matter-paneer vegetable was half cooked and the peas were quite hard to eat. There was no water in Indian style tiolet throuhout and the western style toilet was not getting latched in as such both the toilets were not useable. The coach attendent was requested to call the manager or bring the complaint book but he didnot turn up. A feedback form was filled up but he same was trashed by the attendent.

            I returned by the same train from Mumbai to Delhi on 04.01.2009 (PNR no. [protected]). The coach was extremely dirty and a rat was observed in the train right in the compartment. The panels, sides, roofs, curtains etc were extremely dirty, it seemed that these were not cleaned since long. The toilet walls were also extremely dirty.
            The overall experiance in the Rajdhani Train was very poor.

            Indian Railways — Theft in Mumbai Rajdhani

            On 17 Dec, I and my wife along with our daughter were going from Mumbai to Delhi via Rajdhani Exp. We were in B8 coach. We were happy that we are going to meet our parents. My wife went to sleep on berth # 72, after Ratlam at around 12 in night, and at around 0130 HRS, she realized that someone has stole her handbag which contained jewels worth more than 1.5 lac. When she raised alarm, every body got up. But to my surprise, coach attendant was sleeping. We woke him up, but in place of doing any thing, he took me to Dy. T.C., who also was sleeping. We woke him up also. He simple took out pen and FIR application and started filling that out.

            When I asked him that is there any police man or GRP in the train, he simply denied and told me that in Kota station GRP will come search the coach.

            In Kota, on 2 GRP personnel came, who started asking me how much amount of money and jewelery was there in bag. The other GRP person was talking on wireless and telling every detail to the person on the other end.

            When train started from Kota, I asked Dy. T.C. that where is the GRP, he told me that he informed the GRP and they did not come. When I tried to pull the chain, he asked me not to do that as GRP is in other coach and they will be coming here. After around 5 mins, when I asked about GRP, he told me that he has to see where they are. He left and then returned back with one constable after 5 mins who was in 1st AC. When we asked him to search the coach, he told us that it’s too late and he will do that in the morning. That constable simply left from the coach. Then Dy. T.C. handed over the FIR which was signed by Kota GRP and he also left and went to sleep.

            Then coach attendant also left and went in other coach to sleep. In this whole incidence, no body even helped us. They were trying to escape from their duty and no one did any thing. I have no answer to any questions like:

            • Why coach attendant was sleeping in corner?
            • Why T.C. was not interested in searching the bag but he was more interested in filing the FIR?
            • Why did he tell me lie that GRP will come and search the coach?
            • Why did he tell me the GRP is in some other coach when there were no GRP personnel?
            • What is the security for general public in such a good train?
            • Whose responsibility is to handle the robbery or theft in the train?
            • How can any person who is not a passenger enter into Rajdhani?
            • What is the assurance that it was not stole by any railway staff/contractor?
            • What is the responsibility of GRP? Is it to help general public or to rob them and take their share from robbers?


            Although we cried a lot and asked them repeatedly to help and search the coach, no body like coach attendant, Dy. T.C., GRP came to help us. It seems that they were connived with each other and hence were more concern for their share of money than helping us. Please take serious action on these people and try to help us to get our belongings back.

            If this is the kind of security or the response from police general people will get, then how can they feel secure in their own country? This might be just one incidence which I am trying to report through your news channel but there might be hundreds of thousands of cases which might go unnoticed or unreported.

            Using your channel as medium, I wanted to let every body in this country know that there are no safety measures in Railways and you will find crooks everywhere. Just because anybody is going by Rajdhani, doesn’t make him more secure or more relax person as it can happen to anybody anywhere.

            It has been more than 15 days and despite being giving the written complaints, nobody has taken any action. For a middle class person, this loss is huge. I have suffered a lot due to this theft. I would like to request every body to take utmost care of their belongings while travelling. As Indian Railway can never raise from the level it was 50 years ago. It is still in the same place as of that time. Nobody will come to your help. GRP is just for the namesake. They are good for nothing. Every body is busy for getting their share of money from the robbery.Still they call India as JAI HIND...
            I found the Bangalore-Ernakulam express to be equally very dirty.With tiny cockroaches, remanant of food on the window base. In fact everything about the Indian Rail is stinking and dirty. What makes the Indians live in filth? You see a beautiful villa and next to it is the slum. Being a Singaporean Indian, i am ashamed to read comments from the tourist in some of the blogs.WHEN WILL INDIA DO SOMETHING ABOUT CLEANLINESS and GETTING RID OF THE OLD TRAIN SYSTEM. Will it take another 20 years for India to be a clean city?

            The train number 4005 (LICHCHAVI EXP) is running too much late these days.
            It was running timely when starting from Samastipur. Now train has been extended to Sitamarhi, after that journey from this train to Delhi has become headache. Now train is running 10-12 hours late regularly when coming from Samastipur to New Delhi.

            Why railway administrator is not taking care of this train?
            May I expect the train will run on time.

            HI I am kunal and m agree with them as we need more to do to clean train nd surroundings.it is good for us as well as for tourist.Indian train are very slow also.we need to modernise it also.pasangers are puuting there money as well as time for travel so they need comfort and safe journey.railway ministers should not only think about progress of their own state.they are working for indian railways not for one state.moreover we are equally responsible for dirt around the train as we just feel we are the king and to clean is duty of railway staffs.more awareness and less rush in train can solve all these problems.
            i have had similar experiences.
            i was travelling in rajdhani exp from nagpur to delhi in 2nd AC coach.
            the food was aweful and there were bed bugs in the bed sheets.
            the staff was rude and also demanded tip.
            i wonder if anything happens if we file complaints again them.
            Food is not good, not tasty, , the vendors they only bring only tea and not other items...and tea contains no or very less milk and chalo dudh nehi dalte hain to kam se kam chini to dal do wo bhi nehi hota hai...plesse do some thing for this...and there is more problem more trains should be started as no room problem is very frequent...
            I feel sorry for ur loss, but I am amazed that same thing happened with my friend, between 12 to 2 am her purse was stolen, it contained lots of money and jewellery. she said perhaps in ratlam somebody may have come and stolen it. they pulled chain in kota, asked police but no help.

            Railway Quarters — Dirty Railway Admin

            1. In Rainy season all drainage water will come in to home(quaters).

            2. No Water Facility (including drinking).

            3. No Street Light Facility.

            4. All Quaters are damaged.

            my brother traveled by awadh-aasam train from Mujjafarpur to siwan, but no had place to get in any copartment, bcoz the army men who are also travelled, they didnot give any body to get inside of any compartment, they speak always that the train are 'mere baap ki jaagir hai' so other people got very trouble, bcoz of army men, so bcoz of this i will never support from today any armymen.

            I am Venkatesh working in ITPL white field Bangalore, the complaint is, there is a hotel in back gate of ITPL naming Manjunatha Hotel, today i went for breakfast, i took Vada & Sambar, after having 10% of my breakfast, i found a rigid PIN in that, i told about it to owner of hotel, he answered negligently, and told what ever u want to do u can do dont tell all those things, when i told i am going to complaint, he told i know how to handle all those things, u do what u wanted to, actually i expected a smooth response from him, and a cleanness in food for next time onwards, i shocked from his answers,

            so please register my compliant and please take the appropriate action on the hotel.

            shaktipunj express is really dirty which runs from jabalpur to howrah.
            the washbasins have no or very less water and sometimes the water provided is very dirty too
            the toilet walls are pale and look like they have not been cleaned for years .
            foul smell always come out from the toilet but they never bother to clean it.
            the train stops at the middle of forests and gets just too late.
            the train food is so stale and ugly to eat.
            sometimes the fan does not work so one has to just tolerate the scorching sun and also the lights are too dim for anyone to read.
            the compartments are really dirty and the seats never gets cleaned.
            the window panes have dirty yellow patches and are so very dirty to touch.
            thefts are also there so no one can be very sure for his footwears.
            PLZ DO SOMETHING GOOD FOR THIS TRAIN

            Indian Railway — food

            i was a traveller from Kottayam to Bangalore by Kochuveli express, the food supplied in the train is so hopeless. There is no proper checking of the quality of the food. The qualiaty control must be activated properly.
            I was bed ridden due to severe stomach ache and loose motion for 4 days.
            after taking vegetable pulav from the Railway kitchen. My sister who travelled on Ernakulm Express on 29th Morning also had similar problem after taking fried rice.
            Too much vendors are entering the compartment with food items, shouting and disturbing during the sleeping time.
            TTR not taking care o[censored]nauthorized passengers in reservation compartments who occupy the reserved seats and disturbing the passengers.

            I am completly agree wiith you. I also faced the same problem. Then my friend suggesed me travelkhana to book food online.I really appreciate their services and food quality is too good.I think you should try once.

              Good Morning,
              I am an advocate practicing at Distt. Court, Sonepat. Today on 18-01-09 morning 0620 hrs I gone to Sonepat Railway station to see off my friend. when we reached to booking window towards westren side of the station, there was a long que of passengers waiting for booking clerk to open the booking window. all these passengers were in que for taking tickets for a local train from sonepat to Dehli departure time of the train was 0645 Hrs. the booking clerk did not open the window for issuing tickets despite of requests from passengers. When one of the passenger asked the booking clerk that why he is not opening the window, the booking clerk shouted on him saying that he will open the tickets after 10 minutes. the passengers requested that they would miss the train in that case. the booking clerk again shouted that it is them whose train will be missed and he started altercating with the passengers in place of opening the booking. he used very abusive language to the passengers and even threatened them to hit with a bat he was having in his cabin. Lastly after few minutes when all the passengers started shouting the booking clerk opened the ticket window. I was shocked with the behaviour of the booking clerk. Due to his adament behaviour more than 15 passengers had to travel without ticket as meanwhile the train was about to depart. the booking clerk by his behaviour not only spoiled the image of Indain Railways but has also caused loss to railway and has also forced the passengers to travel without ticket. Please take appropriate action against the booking clerk so that he can be restrained from causing further damages to the railway and the public. Thanking you.

                I had confirmed booking in 2946, Tapti Ganga Exp. from Itarsi Jn. to Vyara on 15/01/2009 (PNR No. [protected]). When on 15th morning I inquired in 139 about the running status of the train, the system informed me that the train was running 02.10 hours late and hence will reach Itarsi Jn by 09.00 hour instead of 06.50 hour. I inquired for several times between 06.30 hour to 07.30 hour. All the time the response was same. But, when I reached the station by 08.30 hour, I came to know that the train has already left the station by around 08.00 hour.
                I was harassed unnecessarily because of the faulty system of Indian railway; was embarrassed before the railway staffs, who were trying to prove that it was my mistake to believe in their system; and has been financially affected as my e-ticket could not be canceled. Even at my request, I was not permitted to travel some other train in sleeper class also, though I had booking in 3rd AC.
                I registered a complain to the DSM(C) Itarsi, though I really doubt if any help could be offered to me by THE GREAT INDIAN RAILWAY.

                I had confirmed booking in 8478, Kalinga Utkal Express from Rourkela to Bhubaneshwar on 28/04/2009 (PNR No.[protected]. When on 28th afternoon I inquired in 139 about the running status of the train, the system informed me that the train was running 40 minutes late and hence will reach Rourkela by 17.30 and depart at 17.52 instead of 17.10. I inquired for several times between 15.30 hour to 17.00 hour. All the time the response was same. But, when I reached the station by 17.35 hour, I came to know that the train has already left the station by around 17.35 hour.
                I was harassed unnecessarily because of the faulty system of Indian railway; was embarrassed before the railway staffs, who were trying to prove that it was my mistake to believe in their system; and has been financially affected as my e-ticket could not be canceled. Even at my request, I was not permitted to travel some other train in sleeper class also, though I had booking in 2ndAC and tatkal quota.
                I registered a complain to the DSM(C) Rourkela, though I really doubt if any help could be offered to me by THE GREAT INDIAN RAILWAY.
                The services of 139 is very very very very poor. One can not get any information from this number. Earlier there were three nos. 1330, 1335 and 125050. These numbers were working satisfactorily. But now you can not get any information even after departure of the train. why Railway administration is silent about this ?

                  Hi,

                  Mr. Jogender Kumar (ID card serial no. 256178) of the railways is indulging in corrupt practices without the fear of law at New Delhi railway station.

                  I had approached the Ajmeri Gate platform counter for a platform ticket but was informed that no PF tickets are required till 31st January for entering the station. As I was coming out from the station, the above mentioned officer accosted me & demanded a bribe of Rs. 100/= for non-production of PF ticket. Upon my refusal to bribe him, he issued a challan for ticketless travel even when I reproduced the parking ticket of my vehicle & informed him that I had tried to buy the PF ticket. When I insisted for the challan to state the charge as being "Non-production of PF ticket";he simply refused & requested a lady to issue the challan.

                  I'm appalled at his audacity wherein he publicly demands for bribes & misuses official powers. I hope some good shall come out by highlighting this corrupt practice & my fellow citizens shall not have to face the same fate at his hands in future.

                  With due respect, we here by submit the following points on the above noted subject for your favourable consideration & early n/action please.
                   FOR STARTING A NEW EXPRESS TRAINS & ADDING EXTRA COACHES FOR GENERAL PUBLIC ON DELHI-AMRITSAR ROUTE
                  Your goodself is reqested to start a new Janta express train for general type of passengers (without any reservation/sleeper coaches) from Delhi to Amritsar & back; which is very essential on this route, as all other express trains on this route are overcrowded, which are having a few general coaches, as a result of which, passengers especially, like senior citizens, children & ladies feel inconvinience& some times got injured in traveling. To overcome this difficulty please start a new Janta Express Train (without any reservation coaches) for general passengers & further requested to add/increase four to five general coaches with express trains running on this route so as to avoid / check havvy rush in the express trains.
                   FOR EXTENDING NEW EXPRESS TRAINS LIKE GARIB-RATH & JAN_SHATABDI ON DELHI-AMRITSAR ROUTE.
                  Keeping in view the difficulties faced by the general public, due to havvy rush of passengers in the trains, we further request to start / extend new trains between Delhi & Amritsar & back, namely GARIB-RaTH & JAN-SHATABDI, alikewise these trains already ply on the route between Delhi & Chandigharh.
                   TO REGULARIZE / MAKE DAILY SERVICE OF TRAIN NO.4037 UP & 4038 DOWN (DELHI-PATHANKOTE EXPRESS)
                  Yourgoodself is requested, keeping in view the above explained situation, to regularize daily the train no. 4037 UP & 4038 DOWN(Delhi-Pathankote) express & make its daily service, instead of on alternate days, as running now.This can be easily done as UP & DOWN side both trains are different, alikewise of other express trains ; like MALWA, DADAR etc.trains.
                   TO CUT SHORT THE ROUTE OF SAHID EXPRESS (PREVIOUSLY FLYING MAIL EXPRESS )
                  Sahid express train is plying / running between Bihar state - some station to Amritsar & usually this train becomes late for many hrs due to long distance.
                  So, this train route may be cutshort to run between Delhi & Amritsar only, to restore its previous route
                   RESERVATION IN THE WAITING LIST



                  We have generally noted, that while getting reservation of seats in the trains like SHANE-PUNJAB (train no.2497 up & 2498 down ) etc., waiting list is reached upon to 400 numbers, in that case railways generally charge reservation charges from passengers without making any arrangements / adding extra coaches for their sittings, as a result passengers feel inconvinience, due to nonavailability of seats, we suggest alternatively to allow such type of passengers(waiting list) to travel in other trains or add extra coaches, failing which railways should not issue reservation tickets on the waiting .
                   EXEMPTION /REDUCTION OF FINE FOR NOT HOLDING SUPERFAST CHARGE TICKET & MAKING ITS AVAILABILITY ON THE PLATFORM
                  ITSELF (FROM MACHINES, BOOTHS ETC.)

                   MAKING PROPER ARRANGEMENTS OF WATER & CLEANLINESS IN THE RAILWAYS

                   MAKING ARRANGEMENTS FOR TOILETS IN THE E.M.U. ELECTRIC TRAINS AS SR. CITIZENS, LADIES & CHILDREN ESPECIALLY BADLY SUFFER IN ADDITION TO OTHER PASSENGERS.
                   ARRANGEMENTS FOR PROVIDING COUPONS, RECEIPTS FOR THE BALANCE AMOUNT(COINS) FROM TICKET WINDOWS IN CASE COINS OR CHANGE OF BALANCE AMOUNT ARE NOT AVAILABLE

                    I boarded on Bhagirathi Express at berhampur Court(West Bengal) on 30 Dec'08 with a reservation ticket in the morning 6.35 A.M. On reaching Krishnanagar City Station all daily passengers stormed into the reserved compartment and harassed us holding resrevation ticket. The TTE on duty did nothing. what redressal act will be taken by Railway dept for not giving the service for which we paid for?

                      I traveled from Mumbai to Calicut by Netravati express on 19th Dec 08 by 2nd AC. From the time i entered to the time i got off the train i saw atleast over 50-60 cockroaches on and around my bearth. They were small but terribly annoying. I was traveling with an infant and so unhappy. Each time i turned my head i saw a cockroach right by my sholder...my gosh it was so creepy...

                      I have been proud of the railway system in our country. The food was good but the cleanliness was extremely poor. As a customer when i pay for a 2nd AC seat i do want to travel with comfort and not disgust.

                      PLEASE KEEP OUR TRAINS CLEAN AND FREE OF INSECTS AND PESTS.

                        This incident happened on 13th Jan 2009 at Kollam Jn, Kerala while
                        Me and my friends were coming from Chennai in No.2623 Trivandrum mail S5 and booked Talkal e-ticket. Since it was a talkal ticket we booked the ticket as a group ticket from Chennai to Trivandrum, but we needed to get out at different places.
                        Me got out at Kollam station and the ticket was with my friend who was going to Trivandrum. when i came to the exit one lady and a gent examiner asked the ticket and i told them its with my friend who is in the train and was a group ticket. they caught my bags and asked me to bring ticket from my friend( actually it was twice checked along the journey). But the train was about to start, i called my friend and he ran from his compartment to show the ticket while train was moving.                         I booked my ticket form agra cantt(AGC) to pune through irctc.co.in. As per irctc, waiting listed candidate name will not be appear on chart and those can't Board in train but in my case, name was present on chart at Agra cantt station. TTE not allowed to board in traion then i went to S.S. and told my problum. He said ur name is not there on chart. Again i shown him chart. Name was there. For this He argument with me alot & used some abuse language also but he made charge against me for misbehave & worte a memo to RPF. I faced lot of trouble at agra cantt station. I aksed that person name too but he didn't tell his name any how.
                        I talked to irctc person(Customer care)then he told it may due to mistake from railway. We can't do any thing. Any how I missed train & my chance for interview.
                        Please Do some thing to upgraded your railway staff behave.

                        With due respect we Citizen of India, want to bring to your kind attention about the problem we faced during the journey from Jammu tawi to Pune on 8/10/2008 in Jammu Tawi express.

                        Following trouble we faced:

                        We were total of ten persons (2 families, with our old aged parents, wife and children) and along with us there were other families too. We started our journey from Jammu, we sat in a compartment not having any indication thereon that it was a ladies compartment, and neither there was any guard or police man to tell about that. But on Jalandhar railway station, police started harassing us to vacate the compartment being ladies. They separated we people, when we spoke against that they started using abusive language. It was very difficult for us to manage such a situation in the mid way of journey with our old parents and children.

                        We just want to bring to your notice that how the common man who is not the regular traveler on that route will come to know about that. So, we request you to kindly pay attention on our complaint and take necessary action so that passenger would not face these problems in future.

                        We visited from Ludhiana to Tirupati in 3A class by Navyug Express train No. 6688. The date of Journey was 10-Oct-2008. Our PNR No. is [protected] and transaction ID is [protected].I booked this ticket by IRCTCs e-Ticketing Service. After booking the IRCTC delivered a ticket on my e-mail and I taken the printout of that ticket. When we reached at Tirupati station on 12th morning, a lady staff member demand the ticket to see and we shown the ticket and ID card but on that time she was started to say that this ticket is wrong, here is not mentioned the ID card no.. We were requesting to her that this ticket is supplied by IRCTC and you see your record and according to record we are showing the ID card. But she was not listening any thing and some other staff members who were available on duty on that time they were also supporting to her. She was using very rough language. She wasted our 2.30 hours and disturbed us mentally very much. We tries to convince her by many type of efforts, we shows the messages on our mobile sent by railway, we was showing the another ticket on our laptop but she was not ready to see any thing. In mean time we sees that she was doing like this and by another ways with the lot of passengers. It is very bad. I want a good punishment for her.

                        This incident happened on 13th Jan 2009 at Kollam Jn, Kerala while
                        Me and my friends were coming from Chennai in No.2623 Trivandrum mail S5 and booked Talkal e-ticket. Since it was a talkal ticket we booked the ticket as a group ticket from Chennai to Trivandrum, but we needed to get out at different places.
                        Me got out at Kollam station and the ticket was with my friend who was going to Trivandrum. when i came to the exit one lady and a gent examiner asked the ticket and i told them its with my friend who is in the train and was a group ticket. they caught my bags and asked me to bring ticket from my friend( actually it was twice checked along the journey). But the train was about to start, i called my friend and he ran from his compartment to show the ticket while train was moving. We asked about the inconvenience but the examiner behaved rudely and harassed us. The examiner hold the ticket with him for questioning him. After few seconds quarrel only my friend got the ticket. At last my friend got the ticket and luckily manged to catch the running train.                         It is the time and date of 15/4/2009 of 5.30am of morning respectfully.when my mother demanded of ticket of Malout to Jind and Jind to Malout up and down also.and TC demanded the Sum of Rs. 114/-. and My mother Paid the All of them on the spot.TC give the ticket with no. J 455 / 3754 and
                        J 455 / 3755 Respectfully.
                        And after when my mother come backed from jind from Intercity Express(New Delhi to Sheri Gangangar) the Train was checked by few person and they checked ok.
                        And then Again checking from flying staff. one of them is checking serial no. my mother and abousing her. Is It manner to behave the Women ...?

                        because our punjab side tc is not good, most of the cases tc is faulty, because tc ask theperson you go in side the train demanding some money, pessenger pay the money, pessenger isrelaxed then i pay money, but after some time checking staff is came the harrased the person, you have no ticket, if thepasenger says then after your conformation i travell thistrain, the tc ask if proof then passenger issilence. this type harrasment is normal regularlys.,

                        hi friend i would like to clarify about the incident. you have indicated that you have booked a E_ticket.for a E.Ticket a Photo ID proof is must and so when you get down in different destination it will not be possible .the persons booked in single E-Ticket have to alight where the Id Holder himself alights.

                        Today that is on 24 jan 2010.... person giving ticket had fight with one standing ahead of me in que. though the ticket window was to close after 5 min he did it before. i wanted to refill my smart card which is done on that window only. when i went to another window he refused me and said to go to west for which i have to buy platform ticket. and when i finally decided not to refill my smart card and buy a ticket he took money and return the ticket after giving 10 others standing behind me only because i stood against them...........this was so frustating.........

                        Indian Railways — Misbehave to Handicap Child

                        I (shailendra yadav) is a physically handicapp child of what I am having my handicapp certificate by govt. Authority. I am writting this as i have been treated badly by the railway police when I was going to take my ticket. The police person saw that i was handicap & also i had told him too , then also he shouted at me & told that I should go from there and come in line as other people who are fit. There was a huge line in counter with physically fit people. So due to my unfitness i can not stand that long. Also on special counter made for us , i was said to go from there. This all incident took place on the raipur junction station of chattisgarh on 22/05/11 (sunday). This not first time i was treated badly by any railway employee, many times this happened. So plz kindly look toward this matter. I could not ask the name of person but i could recognise him if i see him personally.

                          I recently travelled in Lokshakti Express and Holiday special train to ahmedabad in 3rd AC and 2nd class respectively, both the bogies had the newly developed side middle berth attached. apart from being extremely uncomfortable for the passengers since the berths are already small in size, they have become more smaller, the Indian Railways also does partiality in terms of givnig different facilities to passengers paying the same amount of fare. For example, there are 9 berths in one coupe in 3rd AC as well as 2nd sleeper class, if you look at the new seating arrangements, on one side 3 passengers are made to sit, on the other side 4 passengers are made to sit, and on the side upper/middle/lower side, 2 passengers are made to sit, so in all there are 9 passengers are made to sit unequally, why should 4 passengers share a seat wherein they have paid the same monies as the 3 passengers who are sharing the opposite seat??? This is absolutely not acceptable from Indian Railways. Also, while booking the new numbers are not announced so once you board the train, there is major confusion and everyone has to wait for the TT to come and assign the new numbers, 9 passengers also means increased luggage and increased capacity for toilets which get dirtier. If railways wants to continue this, then there should be separate charges based on seatnig capacities and berths assigned to passengers or there has to be a new class developed for these kind of bogies. Indian Railways also stands for good service and class with affordability, we cant lose good service and class just so that Central govt can show increased profits on Indian Railways and in the process compromise everything that Indian Railways stands for

                          I think we should make the railway minister and all the top officials travel in one of the side middle or side upper births. probably they may realize the difficulties then.

                          Rail travel used to be such a pleasure in India, expecially due to the economical fares.. now we have nothing left.. slowly the entire system is going down the drain and probably next step will be cramming the passengers in what ever open space is left till the compartments are packed air tight.

                          I pray that better sense prevail and may god give some brains to the administration and that they withdraw this horrendous scheme.
                          Its Dangrous and life threating during accidents, very uncomfortable for all, and creates mental agaony. Not to mention the unclean toilets are more smelly and filthy now. Request everyone one who reads this to sign and endorse this complain as well
                          now travelling in AC is more like travelling in sleeper class. and specially this side middle berth is a . how difficult it cud be to a tall person to adjust dere. and even if they want to keep this side middle berth, then they can keep low cost for these berths..and the biggest agony is that, u book a ticket in tatkal, already paying extra money and you will get a side middle berth..not done.
                          and i cudnt understand why sometime thse side middle berth are functioning and sometimes not.

                            I would highly appreciate if you take up the following issue.
                            1. I had confirmed railway e-tickets from New Delhi to Jammu Tawi on 16th November, 2008. PNR Nos [protected]; Train No 2445 UTTAR S KRANTI.

                            2. I WAS COMPELLED NOT TO BOARD ABOVE MENTIONED train because OF AVOIDABLE AND UNEXPECTED DELAY of IN COMING TRAIN NO. 2815 PURI EXPRESS. PNR NO. [protected]; WHICH WAS SHEDULED TO ARRIVE AT 5.05PM, BUT DELAYED 4 HOURS IN SPITE OF NO FOG THOSE DAYS.
                            3. I contacted railway authority at New Delhi. But unfortunately, I was not even allowed to use that ticket to board other Jammu Tawi bound train.

                            4. I booke a complaint online in http://dpg.gov.in ; vide Ref. No. DPG/R/2008/80153/(2)(IRCTC); Dated 23/11/2008. who suggested ON 27/11/2008 that The Chairman, Railway Board, Ministry of Railways, Rail Bhawan, New Delhi, has been requested to take apropriate action thereon.

                            BUT TILL DATE NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE
                            I hope you will be kind enough to take the matter seriously Sir and save me from substantial financial loss.

                              I boarded on 2317 Sealdah Amritsar Akal Takth from Asansol to Beas on 7th jan '09 and I got the seat no 60, 62, 64 at 3rd AC it was last seat near to door, I found that there is no restruction for anyone(people, beggers, vender) for passing the coach from one end to another. For the safty sake its very dangerous, attender openen the connected door at 6 am, most peoples from another sleeper coaches come for recharging their mobile, and using toilets and make its worse. its make the journey very disturbance. so i think there is no use of spending more amount for journey in AC class when there is no safty and comfort can provided by indian rail. regds satnam

                              Dear Sir,

                              Since we really appreciate all steps that are taken by the Railways for improving conditions in trains and ensuring the satisfactions and, more importantly, the safety of passengers we deem it our duty to bring to your notice all the harassment we faced on the Jagannath Express on the night of June, 23 when we were going to Puri from Balasore witness the Rath Yatra and inaction of the railway and R.P.F. staff who did not respond to our appeal for help.

                              When the train reached Bhadrak station there was complete chaos as hordes of youth ticketless travesser invaded the sleeper compartment and forcibly asked passengers with bonafide tickets and reservations to vacate seats so that they could sit comfortably. In our compartment S 13 we were abused and ill treated by about 25 to 30 young hooligans. It was a nerve-wracking experience for all o[censored]s. At that time I managed at Jakhapura station to put through a call to Cuttack station enquiry No.[protected] and requested that R.P.F. and police staff be alerted to take action at Cuttack but nothing was done. When the train reached Cuttack but nothing was done. When the train reached Cuttack it halted for over 20 minutes but no action was taken even we went to the enquiry and lodged complaints personally.

                              In fact Sir, we found that the railway staff are grossly indifferent to such appeals for help and allow all types of miscreants to harass passenger in a shameless manner.                               Since we really appreciate all steps that are taken by the Railways for improving conditions in trains and ensuring the satisfactions and, more importantly, the safety of passengers we deem it our duty to bring to your notice all the harassment we faced on the Jagannath Express on the night of June, 23 when we were going to Puri from Balasore witness the Rath Yatra and inaction of the railway and R.P.F. staff who did not respond to our appeal for help.

                              When the train reached Bhadrak station there was complete chaos as hordes of youth ticketless travesser invaded the sleeper compartment and forcibly asked passengers with bonafide tickets and reservations to vacate seats so that they could sit comfortably. In our compartment S 13 we were abused and ill treated by about 25 to 30 young hooligans. It was a nerve-wracking experience for all o[censored]s. At that time I managed at Jakhapura station to put through a call to Cuttack station enquiry No.[protected] and requested that R.P.F. and police staff be alerted to take action at Cuttack but nothing was done. When the train reached Cuttack but nothing was done. When the train reached Cuttack it halted for over 20 minutes but no action was taken even we went to the enquiry and lodged complaints personally.

                              In fact Sir, we found that the railway staff are grossly indifferent to such appeals for help and allow all types of miscreants to harass passenger in a shameless manner.                               On 28/09/09 I travelled from Ghy to Bolpur by Saraighat Express(Train No.- 2346) on A.C. 2A and my two Tickets was on RAC (Berth no. 45).I was travelling along with my wife and daughter.I do astonish to see how a train can start from Guwahati Station without a T.T.E. throughout the Train.No T.T.E. found till NJP Station, but with that T.T.E. no chart was available as no-body handover the chart.So, from Ghy to NJP though seats was available but as no T.T.E. was available so we had to travell by sitting on that sit only and after that as no chart was available so up to Bolpur I had to take the pain.I had made a writted complain also (Book No.-168, N.F.- SN 86, Serial No.13 dated.-28/09/09). You are taking money from the passenger but why you are not giving the service. I want that you have deduct the money from the T.T.E.s who were absent and I had to bear the pain and have to return to me.If you give punishment to those T.T.E.s then I will feel that these type complain has value.

                              ON 03.12.2010 WHILE TRAVELLING BY SEALDAH DURANTO EXP (TRAIN NO 2260 TICKET PNR NO [protected],COACH A2,BERTH NO 43 & 45) TO KOLKATA MY WIFES LADIES PURSE CONTAINING VALUABLES (WORTH APPX Rs.70,000/-) CONTAINING JEWELLERY,CASH,MOBILE,KEYS,SPECTACLE WAS LIFTED WHILE BOARDING THE TRAIN OR WITHIN THE COMPARTMENT.DUE TO SHORTAGE OF TIME BEFORE DEPARTURE OF TRAIN ,INCIDENT COULD NOT BE REGISTERED AT NEW DELHI STATION RPF BUT SAME WAS REGISTERED WITH TRAIN MANAGER(COMP NO 600714 DTD 03.12.10). AT SEALDAH ALSO FIR WAS LODGED WITH SEALDAH GRPF COPY TO NEW DELHI GRPS( FIR NO GDE 252 DTD 04.12.10) ATTACHING COPY OF TICKET,TRAIN MANAGER COMPLAINT .AT SEALDAH I WAS ASKED TO ENQUIRE THE STATUS OF FIR AT NEW DELHI WHICH THEY WERE TO SEND TO NEW DELHI WITH THEIR COMMENTS.
                              ON ARRIVAL AT NEW DELHI ON 12.12.2010 ON QUERRY ABOUT THE STATUS OF FIR I WAS TOLD THAT SAME IS NOT YET RECEIVED BY THEM.
                              THE RAILWAY RPF IS REQESTED TO INVESTIGATE THE INCIDENT AND RETURN THE BELONGINGS OR COMPENSATE.

                                This is the complaint againts the Booking Clerk Mr. AzaguMani, Passenger Reservation Booking counter at Kodaikanal.

                                I went to reservation counter and first greeted him with due respect and submitted a neatly written reservation form with station code.
                                He throwed on my face and asked me to write full station name, not the station code. I smiled and obeyed his order and wrote another form and gave it to him.

                                He shouted at me saying that just for 345 KM ( from KQN to JTJ) you are making a reservation. You are not a passenger and he cursed his job that for passenger like me he has to do reservation and use a computer. He advised me to go in general coach. I slowly explained him it is 7 hours travel that too during night time and I am with two daughters. After much difficulty I had to hear a lot o[censored]ncultured and uncivilized words from him and on repeated request he made reservation and gave the ticket. I was very much ashamed by his treatment infront of my wife and two children.

                                I work as a Lecturer and I know the rules of railway. He treated me like this, then I wonder how he would treat with other fellow passengers who seek help in knowing train name, station code etc.

                                I strongly object the existence of such people who sitting in a responsible place and treating other public so illy.

                                I request the authorities to take severe action againt Mr. Azagumani, Booking clerk at Kodaikanal reservation counter. I am prepared to appear before an enquiry if needed.

                                  Dear Sir,
                                  I have booked my Ticket in a train No. 2455(GHY Delhi Rajdhai) for 31Dec.08 . from KANPUR to DELHI .the scheduled Time of arriving at Kanpur was 02:40PM and at Delhi it should be at 07:40PM.
                                  Because I had an International Flight From DELHI to PARIS on 01 JAN 09
                                  at 01:20 AM but due to Train delay which was almost 6hr. from its scheduled time I missed my Flight and on next day I was having a impotent meeting in Paris due to my flight I have to missed my meeting too.For next flight I Have taken a new ticket in urgent way.
                                  kindly tell me that how can i get my compensation on this irresponsible act of Indian Railway.

                                  My flight was booked for 6:30 AM on 16th Dec 2012 from Kolkata to Bangalore.
                                  I had to travel from Jamshedpur to Howrah and the train was to reach at 3:55 AM but reached only at 5:50 AM.
                                  Needless to say I missed the flight and had to book another flight for 18that a very high price.
                                  Need the cost reimbursed. Please let me know how to go about the procedure.

                                    Where to make complient ?

                                    Dear friends,

                                    I had seen full railway site I find no complient box in the site?

                                    My question is

                                    Railway is working since long long time and when I see the railway site I am surprised to see that there is no complient site. Where to compleint then.
