Dear Sir,
There is no availability of TC in train no 9110- Gujarat Queen, since long in reservation compartment ( 2nd Sitting). Because of that the reservation passangers faced lots of problem with unreserved people who is made the copartment like general compartment. Whats a meaning of reservation? and What kind of management is this who doesnot provide TC for smooth management and conveniency for passanger and mainly- old age and kids. Its surprised to me once I get information for TC from first class compartment of same train that this train doesnot have TC for 2nd class and his duty is limited upto first class. The railway should act fast, regularly and stricly to provide basic amenities for reservation passenger which, the ministry is shouting everytime at the time of budget in parliament. Now its a time to react to proove the reality rather than assurance to maintain a trust between Indians and administrators.
I hope for effective steps and management very soon.

    I was travelling from Howrah to Chennai on 20th September having a e-ticket & the TT charged me fine of Rs 747 for not showing him proper identity proof although I had proper identity proof with me.
    Moreover I had only Rs 550 with me & so I told the TT that I don't have the money but have ATM card with me, and so I requested him to give me some other options to pay the fine. But he gave me only one suggession, that is to borrow the money from somebody.
    I don't want that some one faces this type of problem which I have faced.
    My question is why photo id proof is not required for tickets reserved across railway counter?
    Why it is mandatory E-tickets?
    only soultion is to kill the TC. In my case it happend in tirupathi, the TC is arrassed me, he charged me Rs.1200/- he is not given me any recipt, i asked he told me give me Rs.2500/-, no monitaring of TC, the fine system can be changed.

      i have booked one ticket for 2 person secendrabad jn to pune jn (1020 konark exp) for the date 12 june(3tier AC), on 26 may2008 online through www.irctc.co.in at 12pm today. due to some error in irctc i didnot get the TICKET but money was deducted from my sbi accont amount of 1387rupees and i didnot got the ticket . iam sending u my sbi acc.       Respected sir
      Railway is public utility service and the official of this great institution should be humble and honest towards their service. Here i am lodging a Complain against Railway Reservation clerk Mr. Prasad Rao, who was on duty today i.e. 06.09.09 at Railway Reservation counter, Satyanarayanapuram, Vijayawada, A.P..

      Today i have submitted the form to get reservation from Vijayawada to Wardha by Train no.2861 for 19.09.09. the concern clerk mr prasad has issued me a ticket No 32514689 PNR[protected]. bearing journey from Vijayawada to Warora.
      after getting ticket, I pointed out his mistake and argued that i have clearly mentioned in the form my destination is WARDHA. How can u issue ticket for Warora? He told both are same station. sir i am aware that Wardha is nearly 200 KM from Warora. I told the fact. And Wardha is having another station named Sevagram. But this gentalman was not agree with me. He abusely told me to cancel the ticket. I asked who will bear the charges, He replied that passanger has to bear. Sir this 60/- cancellation charges are not that much important. But the way how was he behaved with me in presence of so many persons is not tolerable.
      One thing, i would like to ask sir that if by mistake, a person writes a destination where train does not go, will u issue ticket to him.
      Sir, all records in reference to my reservation is with u, i strongly want that action should be taken to such employees who, do not bothered the glory and prestige of their institution.
      I hope i will get justice.

        my train amravathi express(2847) was cancelled on 19th june because of track failure.I was handled a TDR and no other document was provided by the officials.i returned the filled TDR in 2 -3 days through speed post.my ticket and pnr no are

        This is “SRIKRISHNA KUMAR” on 06th of March’09 I got a latter from The Chief Commercial Manager, Eastern Railway, Calcutta Latter No. (C438/6/54649/1/09Re) with the subject “Refund of Fare”. According to the latter I am able to get Rs. 216/- (Pay Order A006506) from Rishra office on production of this latter. I visited to Rishra office four to five times but Rishra office is not able to pay me the said amount Rs. 216/- because they did not receive there copy regarding the same and after asking to give written that “They are not able to pay because of not receiving of there copy they refused to do same” and advised to contact CCM, Eastern Railway. I am asking you the reasons for delaying of my payment Rs. 216, and why Rishra office is not received there copy by that they can pay my amount. Please take immediately action towards my problem.

          This is regarding the problem I and many others face while travelling in unreserved compartment in morning train from Pune to Mumbai on Saturdays( Sinhagad Express). Some beggars occupy the seat in unreserved compartments and demand money from people who want to occupy the seat, they cover the seat with their belongings and take Rs.10 from people who dont get seat in the compartment. This beggars are not the culprits they act on the whims of some other people on the station and may the police are also involved. Kindly consider this as a serious issue, where people have to shed money inspite of purchasing ticket in a train which is run on their money.
          Railway should take action against such coolies

            In Danapur-Sahebganj Intercity Express (both up and down trains), un-authorised students in large number often enter in the A.C. Chair car between Bhagalpur and Kahalgaon stations and they do not allow the genuine bonafide passengers to sit on their seats. Great harrassment is caused to genuine passengers of A.C.Coach.Nobody from Railway side is there to help the passengers and prevent the un-authorised so called students from entering the A.C.Coach.Will the Railway Authorities take care of this problem?

            Not only in Danapur-Sahebganj Intercity Express, even the best trains in Bihar use to suffer from this situations, unreserved local passengers use to board even in 2AC in Ara - patna section, that causes too much embarrassment.

              I had the misfortune of travelling by II AC - 2 tier - Seat 44, on the 8th of Sept. '08 from New Delhi to Chennai. And right from the word go the experience was bad. Firstly the seats were full of dust. Ask the coach attendant for the Sweeper (Safaiwalla) and he says, sorry Sir, We will clean it tomorrow morning. Why was not the coach swept and swabbed clean in the first place, ofcourse the answer is that the contract staff engaged in Delhi are useless. Moreover the fan in the said seat could not be run because of screeching sound that it created and hence we had to switch it off. And the worse was yet to come... come night there are the cockroach eclairs for you, me, all o[censored]s including our Hon'ble Railway Minister, who perhaps hardly ever travels by these trains, perhaps the 2nd AC is for the poor rascals who can be fleeced for no reason. Trust me its cockroach cockroach and all other insects, a biologists haven to be in the 2nd AC. Hey this is not the fate of some halthu falthu train its supposed to be a train where they charge you superfast charges for no reason. Ofcourse a week ago I had another experience of the cockroaches and other insects all over...that was in the Ghulab Nawaz Express while I was enroute Jaipur to Delhi. God my me looks like the Indian Railways have decided to give us lessons in cockroach management! Yet another feather and subject for our Railway Minister to address students from Harvard...Cockroach Management!

                Myself Babita Yadav a software Engineer in kolkata .My House is in Durgapur and every Monday morning i come to Howrah By AGNIVEENA EXPRESS(3035).Form Burdwan Station in Ladies Bogies some daily passenger(Ladies) come and start using their Dadagiri like if any one sit in the passage between two doors by using paper they start abusing them.their logic is that form last 18 years they are regular passenger so they might do anything.On 15/09/08 one lady went to Bathroom and when she came the daily passenger didnt allows her to go to their sit as they all sit there and told her when Liluah come you would go to your seat using another.That lady stand their for half and hour and start crying after that when some passenger including me start opposing this they start abusive language like "Choti diye muk lal kore debo etc".

                I want to know i[censored] cannot do anything on this topic that it might cause some big violance one day.

                DADAGIRI — HARRASMENT OF CONTESTANTS

                I wish to complaint the new TV Programme telecasted on Bindas Channel is truly a setback in indian television history. I is very embarrasing and also contestants are used to rudely behaved and harrased during the show. It should be banned.

                  Increase of berths in sleeper/Ac.3tier coaches

                  Dear Sir.
                  Recently railway has increased nine seats in railway sleeper(2nd) & ac 3tier coaches by the side berths.It is very uncomfortable & suffocating to lie on extra beths.you not get air & a fatty & old men have to face much difficulties in getting in these berths.As the berth increases coaches get very crowed and there is also prolem of space in keeping luggages of extra person. This arrangement may be suitable...

                  I am travelling from Coimbatore to Cherthala with my family in Rapti sagar express. Due to heavy rush at railway counter instead of 2 full fare and 2 half fare, i took 4 full fare ordinary tickets by mistake.Usually we used to upgrade the same to sleeper in the train itself. Upto Palakkad TTE was not available in the compartment and as this is a general practice we have even upgraded the tickets at last station.From palakkad, one lady Railway sqad member inspected our tickets and charged Rs 325 x 4 nos for ticketless travel. Later by knowing the real reason they reduced the amount to Rs 325. As we were returning to Cherthala after celebrating Onam at CBE with my brother i was hardly bearing Rs 600 in my purse. As you know my credit / debit cards will not be able to get a mineral water or snacks for my kids. Now am sitting in the nearby local compartment and writing this mail.

                  As this can happen to any one, i would like to know the sin i made in this context.
                  Usually when we appraoch the TTE for ticket upgradation, they used to ask us to occupy any seat first and the upgradation can be done when they inspect the compartment.
                  What would be the suggested mode of legal upgradation in a running train?
                  She was suggesting me to roam here and tere for TTE for ticket upgradation by leaving my wife and kids in the Compartment, is it ethical?

                  More than the money lost, i really feel pity about my helplessness for bring some joyful moments to my family and even my kids feel that i was punished for ticketless travel.

                  please help me to get justice if am 100% right

                  That lady tte is right as she has given reciept for money charged.
                  Passenger must travel with proper ticket in proper class.
                  Passengers must obey the current rules in railway and should act humanly with railway staff.
                  Passengers are not aware of pressure for target by officers on ticket checking staff.

                  Railway Staff travels in mail trains — Railway staff

                  Several times while travelling from Pune to Mumbai or vice-versa, there are several local peoples travels even in 2nd A.c. and 3rd A.c. coaches of sahyadri exp. I hereby like to ask, with what authority they can travel this way in a reserved A.c. coach, they are in large groups, makes so much noise, and just blocks the way for even going to toilets, last week even in Singhad exp. from kalyan to cst there aere around 70-80 ppls standing in A>c. chair car coach, just imagine, if any ladies or old age wants to go to toilet, its next to impossible. Do i need to know here, how can local peoples be travel in such reserved coaches without reservation. Is this is what we pay 4 times fares from second class, where the condition is not even worth like going in General class.

                  Darmesh and K.C.Grjar, I think both r railway-staff and in tte type job. What they are going to understand about passengers' plights or counter-staffs' atrocities however hoarse shouted. They are deaf and dumb to commuters sufferings. First are they perfect in their duty...? Before fining passengers did they provide adequate counters to provide tickets..? Indian railway act. chapter-9 sec 920 says adequate counters must be made to facilitate easy purchase of tickets which is seen not done, so from where did they get the right to fine the innocent people...? All ARROGANCE of Central govt. job and railway staff. Gandhi forget to get freedom for people of India from these adamantly arrogant central gov. staff...?
                  Can anyone please tell me where can I find the chart from where the TTE calculates the fine. Can I find it only. TTE are charging as they wish because we are not educated in this field So please tell me where is the fine chart.

                    Dear Sir,
                    I had reserved a ticket from Bhusawal to dadar of amritsar-Dadar Express (Train No. 1058 A) of 08th sept 2008.the scheduled departure at bhusawal was at 18.50. I enquired on 139 service of Indian Railway @ 5.00 P.M on 08 sept 2008 and it was informed that the train was running late by3 hrs 18 minutes. This was also confirmed repeatedly on the same day at @ 5.35 p.m., and 8.30 p.m.and the same status was replied by the attendants on 139 services. The local station enquiry no. (Tel. No. 222369) was not responding for a long time. When attended by some officer @ 8.30 P.m., he asked to contact 139 for enquiry and refused to tell the status of train. Finally I reached Bhusawal station at 8.45 p.m. I was shocked to know that the train had just departed from station at @ 8.30 P.M. The status on manual board at station was showing the status of train at 1Hr. 45 min. late.
                    The railway staff at station counter advised me to cancel the ticket and register complaint with dy.Stn manager © .Accordingly, I cancelled the ticket and registered complaint (Ticket PNR No.[protected], complaint No. 13) at 9.10 P.M. I again tried to verify the status of train on 139 service in the presence of Dy. Stn. Manager(C) at 9.35 p.m.and their reply regarding status of train was surprisingly the same I. e., 3 hr-18 min late. The attendant also informed that the train would be available at 9.58 p.m. at Bhusawal station. This has resulted in financial loss as well as mental stress as I missed the train due to misguidance of 139 services and to travel in packed unreserved compartment of another train for whole night journey to Dadar.
                    A lot of questions need to be replied by Railway Authority.
                    (1) If Railway enquiry system is integrated, who is responsible for updating the schedule?
                    (2) Whether Railway can compensate the loss incurred to passenger due to incorrect information given by them and to what extent?
                    (3) What actions does railway take in such cases?

                      I am a regular commuter of railways and use local between Shahibabad to New delhi. The time of travel from Shahibabad to New delhiis around 25-30 minuits. Every train in this route is full and thousands of commuters daily. But these trains are very impunctual and normaly late. Thes trains normailly are 10-15 mins late and espacially the trains in morning from Shahibabad to New delhi reach New delhi around 40-45 mins. Due to this the commuters are reaching office late daily and thus are facing many hardships. Can you help the thousand of commuters by atleast ensuring the trains maintain the times.

                          I booked a III Tier AC ticket from Lucknow to Haridwar on 28th Aug'2008 in Train No. 4265, Name: Janta Express ( Varanasi to dehradun).
                          I was allotted B1 15 and my friend (Mr. R.B.Vats) B1 16.
                          Although it was a AC coach but the cleanliness was poor. There were cockroaches all over the coach and the bedding provided was also littering with insects.
                          When we and other fellow passengers complaint about this to the TC and Cleaning Staff no satisfactory answer was provided.
                          Also, one f the co-passengers was eating his dinner when suddenly due to this cockroach menace he vomited, which added to the already poor situation of coach.
                          It took more than 1 hour for he cleaning staff to clean that and the journey in that environment was pathetic.
                          I and my colleague couldn't sleep for whole night and the mental and physical ordeal through which we passed is irreversible.
                          It is requested that Railways should thus pay us adequate compensation and full refund of tickets.

                          i found similar thing while travelling from falna to rajkot by 9264 on 18th dec 2008.lot of cocroaches in 2nd a/c and it was difficult to sleep.after paying high price for comfort railways are providing very poor services so far as cleaniness is concerned.
                          similarly i found no water on toilet on mewar express on 17th dec 2008 and it was in 1st a/c where lot of foreign tourists were travelling.just think what impressions they will be carrying?railways must provide better services.
                          i found on new delhi and h nizamudin stations there was no display of train arrival on platforms and no displays of coaches arrangement on the platforms and entire platforms were dirty on 4th dec and 16th dec 2008.even on small stations like falna i found display systems for arrival of trains and coach arrangement.why not in delhi?railways must provide such information on all the stations.

                            i bought a ticket to and fro pune -miraj...giving very clear written instructions of the need of a lower birth( as i am 6ft 2 inches)... i was not given or even informed before the printing of the ticket and given a side upper birth ... on demanding at the counter itself, the tickiting athority refused to change it inspite of it being his mistake( i had previously checked that the train had 300 vacant seats available) on informing the supretendent i was told to and i cote" adjust with the tc on board" ... this is the state of affairs in the indian railways...
                            i would like to take action against the ticketing athority ...and would like some one to guide me in doing so...

                            Dear Abhijit, I fear something went wrong during your conversation with railway ticketing officer. He might have gone on defensive mode to counter your aggressive tone/body language. A polite, patient request with a smile would have made him to correct his mistake of overlooking your seat preference. Don't blame whole of Indian railway for just one officer's mistake.

                              Dear Sir,

                              I travelled from mumbai to coimbatore by Lokamanya tilak Express which departed from mumbai on 22.08.08 at 22.30.

                              My ticket number is 88248442. The train number is 1013.

                              water was not available in the toilet in S5 coach from Anandapur Station.

                              We arrived bangalore and expected that the water will be filled in this station. But till the last minute of the departure from Bangalore, the water was not filled and the TTR came to our coach and we informed him.

                              The train has just started to move and the TTR pulled the chain to stop the train.

                              Afterwards the water filled and the train started to depart with 30minutes delay.


                              We were suffering lot from Anandapur Station without water in the tiolet.

                              I would like to register a complaint that why it is not checked by the concern respaonsible people at every station or whatever be the stations identified for filling water.

                                I hope this content is forwarded to the correct place and the necessary action taken at the earliest. I am a frequent traveler on Konkan Railway (KR). I travel frequently between Mumbai and Goa. I prefer to travel via rail as it offers much better facilities as compared to road travel.

                                The purpose of this mail is to bring to your attention the poor service of the 2051/2052 Jan Shatabdi Express. To tell you the fact, I was more than impressed with the service of this train till the middle of 2007 as it was the fastest train on the route and always on time.

                                However, in the last 1 and a half year travelling by this train is more of a waste of time. This train is never on time in the normal season nor in the monsoons. I agree the KR route has the biggest limitation of being a single track route, but it is a pity that it cannot run a Shatabdi on time.

                                As per the Indian Railways, the Shatabdi and Rajdhani trains are the pride of the nation. But it is fair to say that the 2051/2052 Mumbai-Madgaon Jan Shatabdi is a disgrace to this fact. The Jan Shatabdi represents quality, but where is the quality when you see this train stop to make way for Passenger, Goods and Mail/Express trains on a daily basis.

                                Recently, I travelled by this train to Goa on 15 August and returned back via the same train on 17 August. On 17/8/2008, I boarded the train at Panvel. The train is always on time at Panvel and departs at 6:38 in the morning. But it stops daily at Somatne station to make way for the Roha-Diva Passenger train.

                                On 15/8/08, it stopped at Somatne for around 10 minutes. Later on it stopped at Diwankhavanti station for around 5 minutes because of the Ratnagiri-Dadar Passenger train. Again it stopped at Khed station for another 10 minutes for the Ernakulam-Hazrat Nizamuddin Mangala Express to pass. Later on it again halted for 5 minutes at Anjani station for no reason at all.

                                The train went uninterrupted from Chiplun to Ratnagiri and passed the 6346 Trivandrum-LTT Netravati Express at Nivasar station. Then it stopped for 10 minutes at Rajapur Road station to make way for the Madgaon Diva passenger. Again it halted for 7 minutes at Nandgaon Road station to make way for the 0104 Mandovi Express. It went uninterrupted till Kankavli, where it had an operational halt for 2 minutes. However, it halted for more than 5 minutes as a goods train had to pass. Later on at Kudal, it halted for more than 30 minutes to make way for the Trivandrum Rajdhani. It again halted at Sawantwadi Road for a few seconds for no reason at all. Finally, I reached my destination at Thivim at 16:30 hrs, which is a delay of more than 1 and a half from the scheduled arrival time on paper.

                                I need to know what needs to done to address this issue. The fares of the Jan Shatabdi are higher compared to normal trains. For example, a Second Sitting fare from Thivim to Panvel in the Mandovi Express is Rs 140/- whereas the Jan Shatabdi charges Rs 177/-. The fare for the same distance on the Madgaon Diva passenger is around Rs 80/-.

                                It seems that the Konkan Railway and Central Railway are giving preference to normal trains rather than the Shatabdi. Currently, the signals of the entire route belong to the Trivandrum Rajdhani, which is a good thing. But isn’t it correct for me to say that the Jan Shatabdi should come second to the Rajdhani and preference should be given to it over the other normal trains? Currently, all passengers of this trains are overcharge for the poor service rendered. This train has only 2S berths. Considering the fact that it takes 12 hours to reach it’s destination, I feel it should have Sleeper Class berths as well. As this train takes such a long time to reach it’s destination, the only people benefitting from the delay are the catering guys, who make abnormal business.

                                You may say that the train is delayed as it is the monsoon season. But this train was never to time during the normal season as well and used to reach back in Mumbai the next day.

                                Sir, please forward this mail to the relevant department as urgent action needs to be taken in this regard.

                                Indian Railway — Take much time than normal

                                Reference to my complaint for Train No. 1RD from Delhi (03:45) to Rewari(06:40). This train take much time to reach Rewari compaire to other train. Lot of passenger want to go Mahender garh,Loharu, Sadulpur, Jhunjunu,Navalgarh ,Sikar by Train No. 493 from rewari (06:15). No way to pick this train from delhi. SUGGETION : Please reduce the running time and starting time from Delh of 1 RD, we want this train at REWARI by 06:00. So we can pick-up the train from rewari(06:15) .BENEFITS : Much increase in railway revenue.



                                You are kindly requested to take the necessary step on this.

                                Train no-493 will reached Loharu by 08:30, Then from Loharu have a train by 08:30 For Jhunjunu, navalgarh, Sikar, etc. I think lot of bus passenger will use this train way and lot of benefit in railway revenue and passengers also save money and time. NO REQUIRE EXTRA EXPENSES FROM RAILWAY ONLY REQUIRE A GOOD MANAGEMENT AND MORE REVENUE TO RAILWAY. This is the best FREE Idea to RAILWAY.

                                  I was booked my rail ticket dtd21/05/08 on tatkal seva through e-mail ticket which was travelled dtd 26/05/08.It was confirmed ticket but due to Rajasthan Insident the train was canselled by Indian railway. I was register a complain through e-mail which was told by rail way customer care. Every week i was follo up for the refund but till three month goes on but threre is no response from the Indian Rail way.

                                  As per rules it war refund to me but still the rules on air.

                                  What do now can till follow-up or i believe that the money was gone from my hand.

                                  i regularly travel by gareebrath exp. between bandra to jaipur. in this train winter also ac. is properly working. some time it become very cool and some time you feel very suffocated due to ac not working.

                                  bad sheet provide in this train is not proper it has so many hole and patches of diffrent colors that you dont like to use.

                                  attendent in this train dont give badsheet on seat but we have to pay at his door and bring back to our seat.

                                  food quality is very worst.

                                  you have make 3 seat in gang way but that person seating with othre three seat make very uncomfortable.to seat 4 person at a time.

                                  Whenever we go from Maninagar to Nadiad by Gujarat Mail at 10.12 PM the tickets they are giving upto Bharuch and charge Rs. 60/- for that. Why is it so ?

                                  If you are giving ticket upto Nadiad then you can charge only upto Nadiad. The passenger who wants to reach Nadiad and take ticket upto Nadiad then why should we pay upto Bharuch ??

                                    I have booked the train ticket for my family for 27/8/08 before 90days by internet and unfortunatly it has booked in waiting list no. 18, 19, 20. Till date 20/8/08 status is wait list no. 9, 10, 11.

                                    Today I came to know that if my tickets are not confirmed then it will be cancelled automaticly by IRCTC and money will be deposited in my account.

                                    Kindly tell me how I will travel without the ticket and I have planned my travelling 6months back. And If I come to station with my family and luggage and then I came to know my tickets has been cancelled automaticlly then where I will go with my family & kid and luggage.

                                    Please suggest me what should we do in this case?

                                    Pl note that bellow mentioned note was printed on top of the tkt when booked it. so it clearly confirmed by you that u know the ticket will be automatically cancelled if it will be not confirmed. So it is your mistake to come on platform without confirm that it is confirmed or not?

                                    following print on tkt:

                                    PNRs having Fully waitlisted status will be dropped and names of the passengers will not appear on the chart. They are not allowed to board the train. If full waitlisted passengers are found travelling, they will be treated as without ticket and charged as per extant Railway rules.
                                    My wife travel in First Class coach of Mumbai Local Train,
                                    today (6th Jan, 09) she get down at the Dadar Station and one Lady TC ask her for the Pass and ID card,
                                    she was having her pass with her, however she has forgot to paste her Photo on the ID Card, because of this TC ask her to pay the Fine.

                                    My wife has explain her (TC) that she can verify the ID number with the Number which is printed in the Pass which was matching but she was not ready to agree, in fact she started abusing her.

                                    My wife told her that right now she don’t have money, and she will pay the fine i will reach the station after half an hour, however that Lady TC was not ready to agree and aging started freighting and abusing her. because of this she has submitted her Cell phone and then gone to ATM to pay the fine.

                                    My wife explain the situation to the Dadar Station Master (Mr. Tolani) however he was also not ready to cooperate.

                                    Then after haft an hour i reach Dadar and Spoken to Station Master, i told him that ok at one point of time we are agree that it was our mistake but how can you staff abuse any one with out no reason.
                                    i just told him to call that Lady TC and say sorry to my wife,

                                    Instead of listening to us they started saying that we can do this and that.

                                    This is very wrong this happens commonly now a day with other also,
                                    please give some consideration to my request
