sir, I Traveled in Samperk Kranti (Bagalore to H Nizamuddin & Back)in II Sl.( PNR[protected] & [protected]) I faced a lot of problem due to the additional birth attached to the side, It is not a wise decision, It is very very difficult to travel, Being a female I was facing so much difficulty. You are requested to convey this message to required authority and tell them, Please stop this program of adding third birth to the side. It is a not fare to make a passenger to travel in so much tight position . It is only matter of 12 Birth per compartment, Please add an additional compartment instead of mounting third birth to the side . please be humanistic towards the lower class passengers also.
I too agree on the same. We have been facing the problem since 3rd side birth is added to both Sleeper and AC 3Tr. It is very deficult to travel when you are alone or with family if any of the side birth is alloted as 3rd birth adds to lot of discomfort.
Problem is doubled by printing incorrect birth position on the ticket.

While travelling I have seen many people cursing Railway Ministry for the same. Probably it has caused change in ministry this time. Hope additional side birth will be removed . also Raily dept can save effort and month on changes yet to be done in railway reservation system software( as it is still giving wrong position since additon of more side birth).

Although intention of addition of birth is to allow seats for more passanger it also adds to discomfort, better solution would be addtion of more bogie.
My daughter alongwith her friend happened to travel by train 2270 Duranto Exp. from Delhi to Chennai. (PNR No. [protected]). The quality of food that the catering people provided is far below expectations. The roties were very hard and the curries were not at all good to eat. More to say the ice cream they supplied was watery. When we complained to the incharge of the compartment, they became impulsive. When they asked for a bottle of water, they said only two bottles of water shall be supplied and cash is required to be paid for the additional requirement of water. So much money was paid to railways and in return we expect to get this kind of treatment. People spent lot of money just for comfort and convenience. If this is the trend, one can travel by the ordinary sleeper class and buy good things from outside the platform. Isn't it. Railways should look into this and suitable remedial actions should be initiated.
I travelled in side upper birth in Indian Rail Train Name (Sanghmitra express, Puri - Howrah express). When i was travelling on this birth, I was looking like that some goods has been placed on Side upper birth, which can not be moved from one position to another. It was very difficult to seat there, sleep there etc. It was 100% discomfort. Whole journey i seated on side lower birth. It was creating problem for me as well as for another counter passengers. Why not railway take decision to make proper side upper birth management as earlier. Earlier side upper birth was the dream birth to travel, because person can seat and sleep comfortably. So I request to Railway Ministry to make proper side upper birth management for enjoyful journey for traveller.

    First of all, please accept my thanks for appointing me as a Surat Railway Station Advisory Committee.

    I would also like to bring following fact and incidence happenned with me. I was travelling from Ahmedabad to Surat by Saurashtra Mail on 14th December, 2008.The TTE of Saurashtra Mail, MR R K PANDEY, took Rs:400/- from me as a curruption money and did not make any official receipt of it. I requested Mr R K Pandey to make official receipt of it. But, he did not issue any receipt for this amount. On introducing myself as a Member Surat Railway Station Advisory Committee and Doctor, also he said : these money will go in my pocket and I will not make any receipt of it. You can make complaint of this at any place. On reaching Surat station, I immediately met Station Master of Surat, Mr Shaikh, to lodge the complaint for this curruption and loss to Indian Railway. Mr Shaikh asked me to produce witness for this and did not took any complaint.

    I am bringing this matter in your notice to take appropriate actions in this matter and do the needful. Sir, If such incidence happen to Member of Indian Railway and an educated Consultant doctor, what must be the condition of other India Citizens??? Such refusal of TTE to issue any receipt of money, makes huge losses to Indian Railway.

    My self Anwer Ali At Lachminia post pahar pur via simri bakhtiyar pur Dist saharsa Bihar is requested to kindly coprate me against your railways.because our nearest railway station is simribakhtiyar pur, and this station having Reservation faciliy. but staff memeber not giving reservation facility. when I asked him why you r not making ticket then he told me LINK IS FAIL. next day[protected] I asked same question again tell me same problem. then i call samastipur ACM on land line phone no [protected]. he is talking with station master and not satisfied me. I m asking always link fail only for simri bakhtiyar railway station . when i go saharsa then saharsa is ready to use. what is this???????????????so I request you kindly solved this problem and take neccessary steps against your staff member.

      Car Parking Charges

      Dear Sir,
      Car Parking charges at Vadodara Railway Station is very high. Rs. 25 charged for 4 hours as Normal & Premium parking. Earlier there was 2 type parking charges. One Normal with charge of Rs. 10 & other Permium parking of Rs. 20. Now the normal charges has been taken away and a hefty parking charge of Rs. 25 levied for parking.

      Please let us know if there is any resource to this & to whom do we...

      I have booked a e-ticket on 21Jul 08, for journey date 3aug08, PNR was [protected], at the time of booking, booking status was WL7, 8, 9, but after chart preparation it shows NO ROOM.

      first when ticket have booked the status can't be NO ROOM,

      Second according to e-ticket rule if ticket is not confirm, after chart preparation, it will cancel automatically and ticket ammount have return within two days, but it haven't happen.

      Third after so many communication, railway refund half ammount after four monts.

      so it is reduculas and amazing thing, railway make mistake and passenger suffer in every step.

        I had booked a ticket from Delhi to Kanpur for 2AC. Due to non availability of 2AC coach, my reservation downgraded to 3AC. I have submitted my written request alongwith original ticket to General Manager (Operation) IRCTC, New Delhi on 11.3.2008 for refund of difference of amount between 2AC & 3AC. I have not received my refund or even an acknowledgement, till today. The ticket/ booking details are as under:

I have also handed over one copy to Chief Commercial Manager, Baroda House, New Delhi on 25.11.2008 and Sr Consultant, IRCTC, Internet Ticketing Centre, Railway Reservation Complex, New Delhi. Till today I have not received any reply or acknowledgement from any of the above offices.

        Will you please let me know as to why Railway is not refunding/ responding to my letters?

          I would like to inform you that on 2.3.2009 i bought the general ticket from pagwara to new delhi station, when i taken the seat myself in coach number 6 because it was totaly unresereved seats, , therewas only some local pessangers was sitting. i immideatly informed to TT to please make my ticket for sleeper class instead of general and take whatever the charges. he told me "baith ya yaar abhi aata hoon" and he brings his approximately 20 relatives on same coach on general ticket. i asked again to TT to please make my ticket as sleeper class he told me just wait i am comming
          between phagwara to ludhian some civil dressed lady TT came and by foce she punished me and she has taken from me 320 rupees.
          my ticket number was 57211718 from phagwara to new delhi
          she made me fine vide her reciept number 039079 dated 2.3.2009
          train number is 2926 Paschim Express
          she also written on slip the punishment station is umbala instead of phagwar or ludhian,
          and money collected at umbala instead of phagwara or ludhiana
          when i comes to know that her duty starts from umbala, , may be she was fraud.
          my question is.. Why the station ticket counter giving the Berth Class ticket on demand on general ticket counters
          Why the TT not changing the ticket from general to sleeper class wheather the whole coah was comming empty...
          why the lady TT written the wrong station for collecting the funds from me on the fine slip.
          up to how may kilometers traveling the TT can fine (Because the Ludhiana is the next station from phagwara.
          Why the 20 relative passengers was not fined by The lady TT and why she fined only to me and poor peoples.
          Why the railways reservation site always showing the advance reservation status full wheather the full coaces are comming empty.

          I am requesting you to punish the TC of Phagwar general ticket counter staf available on 2.3.2009 at 9.00 AM, also punish the Train TT for Coach Number 6 and also punish the lady TT for cutting the wrong slips without her duty boath was happend on 2.3.2009.
          also Mr. Lalu Yadav you are requested to please allow thw general ticket counters to sale the sleeper class tickets at their open/general ticket counters at all the railways stations.
          Otherwise every body will ask that Indian Railways is cutting the pockets of passengers instead of pickpocketers.

          i was travelled in godavari exp 2ac train no 2727 B.no-A1/L19.dated 26/03/09..i forgot to bring my id proof for E-ticket..while checking he asked me proof i sad i forgot.he just collected my ticket and gave it to 2 squad people in samarlakota..those people came to me behaved in horrible manner asking me to pay full ticket fare..or else memo will be issued..1) what made tc to approach squad? 2) is this the way railways treat people travelling in 2ac? 3)i payed full tkt fare wth penalty to squad i.e recept no.102488.to those people..4) for ur ref i am giving details of person travelled with me mr.sampath(L21)--[protected], mr.surya narayana(u24)--[protected]..

          Respected sir i purchased General Superfast train ticket from Raipur to Nagpur, after purchasing ticket when i came at station plate form no 1, there Howrah Mumbai mail 8002 was standing dated 17.05.2009. I gone and meet S4 Train TT for berth availabilty at the plateform, he told me berth is available but i will not give u receipt u pay to me Rs 200/ for berth up to nagpur. I told him that i purchased ticket Rs 84/ from raipur to nagpur and if seat is available then difference amount is only Rs. 89/-. He angry with me and throw my ticket on my mouth, and again said first pay Rs. 200/ then board on train. That time he carrying about 30 passengers with him without receipt and misbehavied withme. i gome raipur stn commercial manager and complaint against him. sir ur railways department TTs are very-very corrupt andfor taking money he harresed the innocent passengers.           This is to inform u that ur GRP and station TC is harrssed the innocent passengers and there are no control o[censored]nidentified person who wondring at the station without ticket like as ( auto driver, rickshaw man and hotel brokers ). Due to theses passengers are feel uncomfortable.

          Indian Railway — Wrong Births numbering. & Sleeper made general

          I have made complaint against Indian Railway due to several times faced wrong numbering of birth/sleeper of Mkm-Hwh - pass (train no. 214E) and HWH-MKM-PASS (train no. 213E) in sleeper class while travelling. The birth/slipper no. of the train is different from printed in the ticket. No TTE comes inside sleeper coach that is why sleeper coach converted in general, lots of passengers travel in sleeper coach carrying general tickets.

          I don't know whether this message will sent to proper person or not. If ... Please look into the matter.

          My self Alok Kumar Gupta from Jaipur I was booked ticket in Marudhar Express(4853) from Jodhpur to Varanasi date on 20/11/2009. Railway reseverved me in coach no.11 and seat no.20 But in this coach I not received any seat and there was very crowd in this coach.I have very problem for journey. So i want to know that why gave me ticket.
          Now refund more than year... how poor system in INDIAN railway...

          Indian Railways — Just one train on Pune to Lucknow route

          Respected Madam,
          As you must be knowing that Pune city is a IT hub and also a education hub thus lot many
          people from Lucknow, Kanpur, Jhansi, Bina, Bhopal etc come to Pune. Now it is really sad and
          disappointing that we have just one train on Pune to Lucknow route that runs on Friday at around 4:30 PM and returns back on Sunday from Lucknow at morning 7 AM

          So I on behalf of all the people who are from Lucknow, Kanpur, Jhansi, Bina, Bhopal etc to
          please run one more train on this route (preferably on Friday at around 9 PM) so that we could easily get
          ticket during our festival holidays and vacations.

          Madam, this one train will make life easy for thousands of people, especially young people, who are either working or studying in people.

          Hopefully you will take required step to study the problem and execute our request of running one more train on Pune to Lucknow route.

          Indian Railways — TT collected penalty forcefully

          Sir/Madam,
          On 17 April 2010 at 5.15pm I reached to Howrah Station to board Howrah - Bardwan (via Cord) Local Train. Every time when I travel by train I do purchase the ticket from the platform. On that day I reached Howrah station via Hoghly River Ferry service. That was my first time to ferry. So I was not aware of the way to reach the Howrah Station Platform. I followed directions mentioned in the subway from the ferry ghat and reached to the platform through the gate where it was mentioned that the entrance was for platform # 1-7, as I remembered. In the way to platform I was searching for ticket counter but I didn't find a single one. After entering the platform when I was searching for the ticket counter, one lady TT asked for the ticket. I informed that I was searching for the ticket counter. But she was not convinced and said to show platform ticket as I was inside the platform. I repeatedly told her to understand my situation but she wasn't in mood to understand that. After sometime one more lady joined in the conversation. Both behaved very roughly. They were saying that the platform is a prohibited area and before entering the platform I should have buy the ticket. But I informed that my intention was to but that only and I am searching for the ticket counter. Also I have mentioned that there was no warning message in front of the gate, like "This is a prohibited area. Please have ticket before entering the platform". They have taken the fine. The penalty receipt number is 272476. The amount is Rs 259/-. Though I had not done any mistake intentionally, I was penalized. So I want this amount should be refunded. I met to the station manager. But he didn't take any action and suggested me to lodge a complaint. I lodged a complaint. But I was in hurry so I didn't able write the complaint thoroughly. That's why I am here to provide the details. Please take the necessary action. At last my question is what is the role of a TT? Is it only to collect fine forcefully and harass passengers?

          Hi,

          It’s nothing new to hear about TTs in India railways taking bribes. But, it made me to write and make you aware about this instance because of two reasons that affected my thinking. First and foremost, the cruel guy (TT) did not clear the RAC of the old couples in the age group of 70s and made them to suffer throughout the night and secondly, it changed my thinking that the TTs in the South Indian Railways are less corrupted that those in the north.

          This is in reference to my travel from Kachiguda to Bangalore on 26th of June 2010 by Train No- 2785 in S-12. I came across the situation where the train was running with RAC and there were few empty seats where passengers did not board in S-12. Now, it was the first and foremost duty of the TT to clear the RACs. But, he preferred to take bribes and allot the empty seats to wait listed and general ticket holder candidates. He did even get pity on a family with a very old age couples who were holding RAC. The family members were M Balsubramanyam (63 RC), B Annapurni (63 RC), K Padmavati (71 RC) and B Krishna (71 RC). Their ticket number was 3054808 and PNR was[protected]. As I witnessed, the TT took the bribes ranging from Rs. 300 to Rs. 400 each from waitlisted and general ticket holders. In spite of taking this money from them, he did not even bother to issue the fee receipt for the difference of amount for those general ticket holders.

          I hope the readers in the Indian railways, possessing the power to take the action, must be honest enough to take some hard steps against these corrupt TTs in Indian railways.

          I have very bad expereince of Indian railway iwas travelling from Basti to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus in Kushinagar Express Train no 11016. I was in S9 coach I was wondering that i was in sleeper coach or unreserved coach there were passenger in train but more than that there was a lot of local vendor in train they really harrass But train pantry vendor also harass very much but more than that there was no water in toilet in S8 S9 S10...more coaches i tried a lot to get complaint book but every one sent me on other department but on itarsi station i talked to Station Supritendent but he also fooled me i was in hurry train left station but what about passenger for what reason railway i s charging us to get harrased in long journey after all eunch also take money forcibily from passenger and if you dont pay they do vulgur acts in front of your family are we developing nation please try Explain me Railway Authority and Railway Minister this not new thing this regular activity daily ther food offered by pantry service is filty they are health hazardous they charge Rs 15 for mineral water, Rs 5 for tea which cant be drink, Rs 15 for mango sip why we should pay more have passengers had done crime by travelling in Indian Railway .please please do some thing.Cant railway Be Facelifted

          Of Rs 500/-, Simentenouly i am ready to pay, But after sometime, He told me pls pay 200 rupess so i can leave you.

          He wait me for more than 1 hour for giving the Original receipt, Meanwhile he collect the money from other people, after 1 hour he giving me original receipt & he just told me sign here after that he mention 300 rupess on receipt

          Hi team,

          I am Vishal Kumar travelling in 15231 from BJU to USL at B1-39. My seat is at RAC and i was accepting that TT in the coach will provide me a proper birth if available.

          I found a birth (B1-38) vacant in front of my seat and the travelling person also confirmed me the same, he told me that he is travelling with railway free pass and because of sudden change in his plan his wife was not travelling and the seat on her name was vacant.

          I asked this to the TT number of times but he said that seat is not for you and he cant provide that seat to me.

          All because this reason, after paying full amount of ticket " I am travelling on half seat "

          This is the service provided by INDIAN RAILWAY.
          The tt guy gave a seat to a man who had rsc of 31. The real ownear of that seat didnt come but his mother was the attende . U shuld take a decision . My train is moving from sealdah (bengal)to jayanagar (bihar) my seat no 64 ...

            Since both the tickets remained unconfirmed I went to the Habibganj Railway Station on the day of journey after preparation of the Chart at 14.30 hrs to return the Tickets, but the Ticket windows were closed (being Sunday) and ticket could not be returned.
            Reaching Mumbai was essential and with no other alternative left, journey to Mumbai was conducted by Air on 7th April 2008 from Indore.
            Under the circumstances both the tickets were submitted to the Railways official after my return from Mumbai on 9th April 2008 and TDR obtained.
            It is regretted that even after a lapse of Eight Months neither refunds have been made nor any information regarding refund status has been provided.
            I want to know the status and further time required to resolve the issue along with line of action railways expect me to take for getting refund.

              Having a smart card with Rs55 as balance, but not getting detected on screen of machine.Went to belapur railway station but the person said we have given the outer machines on contract, its not related to us. This is not at all acceptable by me as i have paid money for everything, deposit, balance, etc but of no use. Then y to give this facility if not possible to handle.

              i am a passanger. there is a train named Marathwada Express coming at Mudkhed at 2am and it goes to dharmabad and come again at Mudkhed at 3am, and now there should be not to seat any person in that train, but i dont know this thing and station master does not announced that ! when i asked him about that he said i dont know anything ! its really very bad thing ! and His behaviour is not so good !
              i m a passenger in a local train ahmedabad to kalol went at platfrom no 12. In this Platform station Master Miss Nisha/Neha i dont Know exatly her name.. i m gonig to three times and said plz fan open in this paltfrom but her could not here, and any time said ok i will announced but she can't open fans int 12 no. platform than i talk to haed of station master and she run away and siad him i m wrong and she will right, , and Her behaviour is not so good !

                Dear Sir / Madam,

                I am 70 years old senior citizen of democratic India. I have worked hard and paid taxes regularly all my life to the Government of India. On 5th December, 2008, I boarded train no-2933, Karnavati Express from Mumbai Central (BCT) and the train departed at 13-40 hrs. I have traveled via ticket PNR No [protected] booked on 30th November, 2008 at 08:44:19 am. Total fare Rs 447, Class II, D1/103, 99, 100. I was traveling with my 68 years old wife and 36 years old daughter. I was returning from Banglore to Ahmedabad via Kolhapur & Mumbai. We had been traveling for more than 36 hours already and waiting patiently to reach home at last.
                From Borivali station onwards at every station, so many people kept boarding the coach and they were literally standing on our toes and leaning on our bodies. There was utter chaos in the train with small children crying and the vendors making their way through this terrible crowd by pushing and stepping on people's toes. All these people have no reservation but the T.C. said that they had a right to stand and travel in the reserved compartment. We had no place to keep our luggage or our legs. No air to breathe. This was worse than traveling in the general compartment. No chaiwala or milk or water vendor sold us anything because they said there is no place to stand how can we give you a bottle of milk and take money from you? My diabetic wife had to go without her chai. From Surat the situation became worse and then we could not bear it anymore & decided to get down at Baroda instead of Ahmedabad and go to Ahmedabad by bus.
                I feel this is very very very unfair. Indian Railway is looting the common man by providing a reservation at extra cost by tatkal, on top of it passengers who have a reserved ticket are forced to travel in inhuman conditions because the law allows anyone to board a reserve compartment, even if they don't have a reservation and those others force the people with reserved ticket to give up their place & leave the train without reaching the destination for which they paid in full.
                Where do I go for justice? Whom do I fight and how at the age of 70? How do I protect my wife and daughter? I had taken my daughter to Bangalore for treatment. She was not well. We were both exhausted. Did we not have the right to travel in peace on our own reserved seat in the reservation compartment? Why? What is Mr. Laloo Prasad Yadav doing? Only increasing railway profit at the cost of the common man? Should these be no limit as to how many people can board a train and how many maximum no. of tickets should be issued for a particular train? I would request the Judges of the Supreme Court and High Court of India to please look into this matter seriously and take very strict legal measures to make sure that number of tickets sold by the Railway authorities for any particular train, match with the carrying capacity or total no. of seats on the train and under no circumstances should passengers without reservation be allowed in the reserved coaches to ensure that long distance travelers can reach their destination in peace without being harassed.
                Railway can introduce a separate coach without seats, for people who are willing to stand and travel because they desperately need to reach a particular destination. But under no circumstances should general ticket holders or waiting list ticket holders be allowed in reserved compartments.
                Please allow us to travel in peace. After all we are paying for it.

                  Hi,

                  On 11-Dec-2008, I was travelling through Ahimsa Express from Baroda to Pune, between 3:30-3:45 am early morning, I found sister's bag lost from my compartment between Karjat and Lonavala. We searched through each and every sleeper coach, however could not find. I tried to check for TC as well as any RPF jawan, however could not locate any.

                  When I reached Pune railway stations, I can not locate any TC or RPF anywhere. Even, at customercare booth, none were preset as it was 4:30 am only :-(. When I visited the RPF police station, I found only one person luckily but sleeping. I made him awake, informed him, but instead of taking a complaint, he just had my name, address and contact number and even did not provide me any receipt. As I was travelling with my very small kid, I went home.

                  I was surprised to see not a single RPF man at Pune staion, now a days, due to risk of terriorist attacks, I expected some body. My sister had lost her valuables and expensive clothes.

                  I just wanted to hear from others and have very little hope about the receiving anything. Just want to put accross and let you guys to note about the way busy and crowded stations are managed.

                  Today on 6th Day of February 2010, I See a Bag Containing Some Clothes and Approx. 20, 000 Rs. and Some Gold Jewellery When I was Travelling in 4212 Intercity Express from Agra to New Delhi. When it was found the peoples think that it should be bomb. But after police checking it is declared that it contianes the above mentioned Items. Two Police members take that bag and leave the train on Palwal Railway station. I saw that all.

                  If some body lost it then please contact to palwal (Haryana) Railway station.
                  i booked my luggage from mysore to pune but noone was their in pune station to recieve it. It went to mumbai and then to chennai and from past 1 week there is no track of it. i am very much in trouble due to it.Day by day government is getting careless...
                  Noticed a Apple charger & wat bottle left behind on 29 th April Kochuveli express to Bangalore in AC coach B1, near seats 41 - 45 at Ernakulam station. We have the telephone number of the person who, took the charger. We have the water bottle with us.

                  From travelling from Mumbai to pune on 12 June 2023 at 2pm 11019 Konark express I lost Quechua military green men trekking shoes of size 41. Till Karjat the shoes were present and before Lonavala they were gone by 3.30pm.
                  Searched entire bogi lots of times like till 6pm till I reached pune.

But T T told that is not possible to cancelled from Rourkela, only possible from CKP.That is also surprising in the networking WORLD . So we return back to home & came on next day, T T told me make a TDR, that is best for you & got it within month by cheque . So i done the same as per T T . TILL date I am not getting this . Pl. arrange to send my cheque as early as possible.I hope you will do the same on my request.

                        This is for your kind information that, I missed the train no. 2445 (PNR NO: [protected]) Ex New Delhi to Jammu-Tawi on 16th Nov. 2008 because o[censored]nexpected FOUR HOUR delay of incoming train no. 2815 (PNR NO: [protected]) which was sheduled to arrive at 17:05 at New Delhi.
                        Consequently, I missed the train on that day. I requested New Delhi Rly. Stn Master to do the needful, but he refused as my ticket was E-ticket.
                        It is very clear that, firsty, there was no fault on my behalf so I must get full refund of onward ticket.
                        Secondly, let me know how long this trauma of delayed train will be rectified. Lastly, there must be some direct train from Puri to Jammu-Tawi at least biweekly. I already Registered online as refered above, unable to contact the person as refered.
                        Kindly let me know how I shall proceed further.

                          Hi,

                          I want to complaint about the food quaity in train no :- 2649(sampark kranti - Bangalore to delhi ) on 21/11/2008, it was so bad that even animal will not eat that food. I think Mr. lolu prashad yadav is not aware of this kind of corrouption going on in food bussiness. Dal was not having single grain of daal, potato were not cleaned. worm were running in food. Please someone bring this in attention of MR. laaloo prashad yadav ji, everyting will fall in line. I wanted to log comapint there in trin itself but pantry guys did not allowed me to do so.

                            Dear Sir,

                            My family wanted a vacation & hence we planned to visit northern India by train. Therefore, we booked 4 adult tickets on[protected] at Vashi Railway Station, Navi Mumbai, under the “Tatkal Scheme” to travel to Amritsar from Mumbai by ‘Amritsar Express’. This train was scheduled to depart on 27/11/2008 from Dadar (Mumbai) to Amritsar at 23.45 hrs. train no of which was 1057. The ticket was booked for 2 Tier A/C & the amount paid on 25/11/2008 was Rs.8880/-. The PNR no of the ticket issued to me is[protected]. Zerox copy of ticket attached for your ready reference.

                            However, due to various safety & security concerns inflicted in Mumbai on night of[protected] and continued through out on 27-11- 08 and thereafter, we were scared to travel and decided to cancel our ticket. Therefore, immediately on 27-11-08 morning, we rushed to the cancellation counter at Vashi Railway Station (New Mumbai) where I was advised that under the “Tatkal Scheme”, tickets cannot be cancelled and no refund of any sort is possible.

                            Sir, I sincerely request a refund the ticket amount of Rs. 8880/- as we have not cancelled this trip because of my personal reasons but due to the unfortunate and unforeseen circumstances/acts that shook Mumbai from[protected] evening.

                            Sir, I think it’s quite a reasonable and rational decision of me and my family to cancel our trip due to security concerns and natural fear in our minds about the happenings in Mumbai.

                            Considering above, it is sincere request to you to consider our claim of refund of Rs. 8880/-.

                              This is most useless decision from Indian railway just to create problem for commuters...Adding a new birth in side means all the three person cannot sit or sleep properly as it is suffocation, also there is problem for keeping bags as adding new seats there is no addition on baggage space and other facilities...I have almost stopeed travelling in train after this change

                              My last experiance with the extra birth at side middle was the worst experience of my life, Now onwards I m going to travel by trains.
                              Lot o[censored]ncomfirtness due to this extra birth, also lot o[censored]nreserved people are travelling & at night they are slipping on the floors & no any space for walk, it is horrible that the lidies & childerens can't go to the toilet in night.
                              Instead of causing inconviniance to the 72 passangers, railway can add one bogiee in each train, if railway didnt remove this extra birth, including me many people will stop travelling by train.
                              recently i had travelled from Lucknow to Mumbai & back by A.C III Tier, i feel it was the most horrofing experience of my life, the addition of the extra berth on the side, I wish the Hon.Minister to travel with his family with the allotoment of the side berths, no need to explain, i am sure the same day he will withdraw such coaches, Morover i have learnt that in the southern railways such additional berths in III A.c have not been implented due to the resistance given by the passangers then why in North, hope better sense prevails and the decission is immediately withdrawn
                              Traveling in train has now become pathetic. The extra SM birth has increased the discomfort. Please thing for ladies and childrens too. No extra space for baggage, bogie too much crowded, extra passengesr boarding the trains all the time whetrer day or noght. Please remove this SM birth, dont make the journey hell. Minister please listen

                                I was traveling from Byculla to CST and was asked for ticket from the TC. I showed the pass I had which was valid upto next three months. But still she argued on the matter of mismatch in ID Card number and the ticket number. On this basis she asked for a fine of Rs. 263/- from me. When I refused to pay, She took me to the CST main office, and there the gentleman sitting was very rude in his language. When I asked to show the rule book regarding penalty they answered in a very bad way and said that they will give the receipt for the same. The receipt which they gave me, was not against the penalty charges but for the excess luggage carrying charges(i can provide u with the receipt). When asked about it they told this was the proper receipt and I was not able to argue any further since I was inside their office and two of men were present who were speaking a very dirty language.

                                1. There is often a mismatch between the idcard number and the train pass number issued by the railway.

                                2. The person issuing id card hardly take any efforts to see that the photo is properly stamped.

                                3. Above all the language used by these people is very bad and they work as if they are not paid for their job. I have seen many commuters standing in queue for train pass abusing the window clerk ( window number 13 – kalian station) for not giving proper service.

                                ARE THE RAILWAY EMPLOYEES NOT PAID, THAT THEY BEHAVE IN SUCH MANNER??

                                Central Railway — poor employees

                                    Dear Sir,
                                    This is Shyam Kumar Varma, resident of Mumbai. I was returning from Basti station (U.P.) to Mumbai via Avadh Express(Train no: 9040) on 27 Nov 08 and had 3 tickets + 1 waiting list ticket with a luggage of 140 kgs approx. I have already weighed the same 2 times from my side also. But When the train entered to Madhya Pradesh on 28 Nov 08, 2 T.C.'s came with a faulty weighing instrument (The local bhangar wala carries the same type of weiging instrument). And they weighed my luggage & said my total luggage is 180 kgs and charged me 2720 Rs for excess fare. They did not even considered my 1 waiting list ticket for luggage purpose. He said only 3 person's ticket will be considered and luggage of 105 kg will be considered. I argued with them a lot that this is wrong but it was of no use. The T.C was also accomapanied by GRP police and T.C said that i have to get down at next station and they will handover me to GRP police station to face the consequences. Finally the matter was settled by 908 Rs and I was even given a receipt for the same. I don't if this receipt is original or not. But i knew what happenned was not correct, but was forced to pay since i was not alone but was travelling with my wife, old mother and brother and did not want them to suffer. 908 Rs is not a big deal for me, but Indian Railways need to take action against such T.C's.

                                    One most important thing, When the train enters Madhya Pradesh, many such instances occur. I repeat such things happens many times, as soon as the train enters M.P.

                                    Pls do the needful as others atleast should travel safely without any mental torture which i had gone through.

                                    Railway TC — unnecessary charged by TC

                                    Hi,
                                    Sir/Madam,

                                    My parents had traveled on 21 july 2010 from Ujjain to Ahmedabad .
                                    the problem started at the ujjain station, as per new time table (changed since 1 july 2010) train comes at Ujjain station at 00.10 A.M. so my parents reached at station on 20 July 2010 night because day and date changes after 12 in night , there they found somebody else already was there on there seat , actually they were also right on there place because they had also ticket for the same seat ,but they boarded at Indore station where train started before 12 A.M.
                                    at the Ujjain station T.C said to my parents that they can seat on there alloted seat as it is Railway system fault ,but as soon as train started and Nagda station arrived T.C started troubling my father and mother who are 71 and 62 years old respectively and my mother has cancer and suffering from arthritis problem. T.C was threatening to my parents that they should get down or he will make without ticket charge against them ,he was repeatedly asking Rs.900 from my parents,at Ratlam station T.C asked to buy new ticket or else give him 900 Rs.how can and why a old person get down at the station in the rainy night who is having right reservation ticket? finally negotiation started between my father and the T.C , T.C said okay give me 600 Rs ,& later on at 300 Rs. he allowed to sit till Baroda station ,at Baroda station my parents had to get down from the train & had to bought a new local ticket from Baroda to Ahmedabad .
                                    Actually T.C's intention was only to take money from my old father who was poor and helpless in running train .
                                    I appeal to consumer code pls take action against the TC who was on duty from Indore to Baroda on 20 July P.M.to 21 July 2010 P.M.in Indore-Gandhinagar exp (shanti exp).
                                    If there is still humanity exist in this world so you will definitely take action against the T.C so that next time onwards no one such a poor and old people like my parents will have to face such problem who were naive and innocent and right on there place.

                                      Dear Sir/Madam,

                                      I had a very bad experience on 21st November, 2008 in 1013 LTT-Coimbatore Express having PNR No.[protected] in Disabled Coach, marked as S-12 (SEAT/BERTH Nos.1, 2, 3, & 4 - allotted to me, husband and two children).

                                      We had a tension full atmosphere through out the journey. We could not get down and have water and food to our choice. We were forced to spend the entire night without proper sleep by the Disabled and General Public who were banging the door in each station. Further, all the tube lights were on and there were no provisions to switch off the lights.

                                      Even the Guard who was in the next coach was not aware of this arrangement of Railways and the Guard threatened us with penalty clause at Raichur Station. Initially the Guard was not prepared to listen to us and kept on insisting us to open the door. Only after our repeated explanations, he came down and instigated the public to go for a complaint with Railway Authorities.

                                      To avoid this confusion, the Railway Authorities should stop allotting the reservations in Disabled Coach and keep the entire coach meant for Disabled only.

                                      We felt extremely guilty to travel in the said coach. We could not open the door and share the accommodation with the Disabled due to safety.

                                      We request the Railway Authorities not to repeat this kind of hardship to the Passengers in general and Disabled in particular.

                                      Madam/Sir,

                                      I regret to quote that i feel ashame towards the bad service provided by railways esp. in disabled coach. My father is physically disabled person and we got berth in the disabled coach. But, we harldy had a sound sleep.

                                      We have travelled on 18th October 2009 in Amrita express (train no. 6343). We have boarded from Trivandrum. From the source station itself, five people entered into this coach and it should be noted that they were not disabled persons. After reaching at Kollam, a lot of people including Coolies(Hindiwalas without the tickets) has entered into this disabled coach like in a general compartment.

                                      The train time from Trivandrum is 11 PM. We entered the train at 10.40 PM. It is pathetic to note that no TT has came to check the ticket.

                                      Then for what purpose they have set a coach for disabled???? Its better to change the board as "General Compartment". Even the lights cannot be switched off in this coach!!! In my father's berth, many people have sitted around him without any consideration. They are telling its an usual thing in the disabled coach... so there is nothing to get wondered...

                                      Then Whats the meaning in reserving berth for disabled persons... Even if we have a complaint... to whom we have to quote it???? The guard, TT, Railway police... everyone are not giving any notice to the disabled coach... After reaching at Thrissur, we gave complaint to the Station Master in oral... He says our people are like this only!!!

                                      I feel ashame about our Indian Railways who are not taking the responsibility with regard to the convenience of the travellers...

                                      Its better to cut the coach for disabled rather than making them in troublesome situations.

                                      With lots n lots of regrets...

                                      i am very happy that i read these complaints . i was about to take my sister who is physically handicapped and lost her ablity express, to mumbai but now i will not do that mistake, i feel extemly bad about the sufferings the above had to under go, due to to the attitude of the railways . the said compartment marked for disabled should be exclusively for the said persons and proper care should be taken to keep it clean and the guard should be given the power to get rid persons other than diabled and their care taker. a permanent attender can be posted in the compartment.like the one they have in higher classes, to provide the facilities the railways can fore go the concessions given to to the disabled, or it can be made optional. people who are willing to pay extra to get better facility.
