Dear Sir,

I hv book one ticket on 27/3/2010 for journey of 31/3/2010. on 31/3/2010 status was showing w/l 27 & 28 .when my person go for journery .TT has said that these ticket has been cancelled ,and he has charges rs, 1300.00 extra for my journey chargs . But still i hv not received the Refund amount or any information regarding cancellation of ticket.

3. Your are requested to reimburse the charges for TRANSACTION ID:[protected] to my ICICIBANK ACCOUNT. The details of tickets are given below.

This is a copmplaint regarding an E Ticket that I booked in the month of September 2008.
I went to my hometown Thrissur, Kerala State as an emergency( a death happened in my family) and for returning, amidst all the shock and confusion at home, I took a family friend's help for booking an e-ticket from Thrissur to Bhopal by Kerala Express. this person asked me for the passport number and as I knew it by-heart, I told him. But I didn't know that I had to carry my passport as the Identification proof since he gave my Passport number at the time of the booking. when I received the e-ticket, I enquired about it to several people (as my passport was in Bhopal and I was in Kerala) and some people said that any proof is fine. Luckily, I had my election ID card with me which I rpoduced during the journey.
The ticket checker was very adament on me producing the passport itself and said that I had 2 options.
1.Buy another ticket
2.Get down the train.
I was travelling with my 3 year old son alone in 2nd AC and this fellow, regardless of my name matching with the name in the chart and also, my ID card was valid and the photo was also matching- he refused to give-in. I ahd to pay another 2000 Rs to take a new ticket at that time. Just because I didn't produce my passprt was the only reason why he got me into buying a new ticket. Isn't this appaulling? When Mr Lalloo YAdav is providing facilities for women travelling alone with children, his own employee is harassing for a silly reason like this. Now, I approached IRCTC complaints cell and they refused to give the money back saying that they followed rules -that I had to give my passport itself. Now, tell me one thing, if you buy a ticket from the counter, give it to somebody else and they travel as you, who checks it ? None. It is only because the ticket was issued from a counter! This is ridiculous. But I want to know whether I am eligible to get the refund or not.
I have the second ticket that was issued to me as well as the e-ticket and also the comments from the Ticket checker that "I failed to produce Passport as Identification proof -But shown Voter's ID card instead" written on the ticket.
What can be done for this case? I want my 2000Rs extra back-because I know that the rule has been changed now by the railways -that e-ticket holders can show any Photo ID card as proof.

while taking e ticket one has to produce / submit the number of mandatory documents showing the identity of the person, which must be carried alongwith himself and to be produced to the TC/ TTE on demand or at routine check.

Yes, you can produce ANY valid ID proof
a) Voter Identity Card.
b) Passport.
c) PAN Card.
d) Driving Licence; and
e) Photo identity cards issued by Central/State Government.

but it had to be same as one you produced at time of purchase of tickets, ( the provision is revised w.e.f.[protected] and allowed any id) but the time u mentioned, was prior to that, and the old rules were valid.

However as the TTE issued new ticket to your case with penalty, and written on your ticket the reason for making such is mere mismatch of id proof, its a good case to lodge complaint and fight for refund, please write to ...

We have already issued Reminder No. 1 dt.22.07.09 to concerned railway to chase up the case. But despite reminder refund yet not received from the concerned railway. Now we are sending a Reminder No. 2 dt. 12.09.09 with all the papers pertaining to your refund case to concerned railway to chase up the cases. As soon as refund, if any, received it will be credited to your card account.

I was trying to book 5 tickets online from Guwahati to Kolkata on 25th august for journey date 1sep on Garibrath. But after payiing the money through internet banking, irctc screen get refreshed automatically.But tickets are not confirmed. I called IRCTC they said transaction has been failed so money will be refunded with in 3 days, in the mean time i have to book again. But to my horror while i am trying to book 2nd time, after money has been transfered to IRCTC sesion login fails, again my tickets are not confirmed. Again i call them they can't say nothing. I afraid my money will not be refunded by IRCTC. What should i do to get back my money?

On the 24 december my wife and mother were coming into garib rath from Bapudham motihari to Anand vihar (new delhi). Unfortunately they forgot their original id card. but both carry Photostat of voter id card and educational certificate. but TTE not accepted and took 500 hundred rupees without any receipt.

IRCTC — Non refund of e TDR after almost 2 years

I booked a e-ticket from Patna to Mumbai on 11/4/2009 train no. 142P in IIIrd AC for Rs. 1253.00. The PNR no. was [protected]. On the date of journey the train was late by 20 hrs. I made my travel to Mumbai by flight. I filed TDR on 18/5/2009. Even after no. of reminders and talking on phone the refund has not been made so far. Non refund after almost 2 years is pretty long time.
Can anyone suggest what to do?

IRCTC — Blocked my used id without my fault

I booked a ticket (PNR [protected]) for my dad from Secundrabad to Repalle which costs Rs110. But my dad has not traveled on that day due to some personal reason and I didn't cancel the ticket. The next day I filed TDR for that ticket. After few days, I got a mail from irctc saying that passenger already traveled on that ticket and they block the user id because of false TDR filing. I am working in a MNC in software professional. How I can do that for just Rs 40 ( which I supposed to get after filing TDR ).Earlier also I faced same issue when I didnt travel by train when the train got delayed by more than 3 hours from Rajmundry. At that time also, I got same response that passenger has already traveled.
We know how people offer bribe to TTEs and travel. Without my fault they blocked my user account.

Now I am facing problem in taking print out of the future tickets those I booked long back. I don't have them in my mails also. I already sent mail to [protected]@irctc.co.in. If they don't activate my account, what I have to do ?
Dear Sir,

I am holding an IRCTC account under user name SHEELAT. I had bought a ticket pnr no [protected] date of journey 23rd march 2010 from Mumbai central to Bharuch by shatabdi express. As I wanted to cancel this ticket, i booked for a train later in the day and tried to cancel this. I could not cancel as i was getting connectivity problem message from irctc site and finally wrote to [protected]@irctc.co.in to cancel the ticket on 22nd march 2010 night which was prior to train departure. They asked me to write to them giving the details. i wrote to them again prior to train departure to cancel the ticket. they wrote to me back after train departed that I have to file tdr. i was upset but i filed the tdr. Later after few months, to my surprise, i got an email from irctc stating that my tdr was falsely claimed and they are rejecting it. i wrote to them back stating that i have travelled by booking another ticket how i could travel on both also i have written to you before train departure to cancel the ticket. there was no response.

Now on 19th april 2011, i have received an email from them stating that they have blocked my account as i have claimed falsely under the above pnr. I was shocked. while I was the aggrieved as they didnot cancel my ticket and asked me to file tdr, they act strangely causing further damage. I wrote to them thereafter several emails attaching all correspondence but there is no relief.

moreover, this account had more than 2300 Rs at the time of their blocking the account. i had two tickets which i had booked before that but i had to cancel that because I was at china and korea at that time.I had pnr no [protected] for travel on 2nd may from mumbai to bharuch which I could not use as i was at korea. also i had pnr no [protected] for travel on 25th april 2011 which i could not use as i was at china. I wrote to them to cancel both as I was blocked from usage of site.

They did nothing and finally after several correspondence they asked me to write to etickets and they filed tdr for pnr[protected] and paid the tdr money while i was eligible for cancellation money. There is no response from etickets for the other pnr [protected].

so they have blocked my id inconveniencing me and causing severe mental agony inspite of writing to them that I am holding a very senior position, they have not only failed to cancel pnr [protected] but have also falsely accused me and paid me nothing for the above untravelled ticket, they have falsely accused me of making false claims, they have withheld the balance available in my above blocked account, they didnot permit me to cancel the above tickets. Even though this amount is nothing of great importance to me, as a consumer they have caused great harm to me and the attitude of IRCTC officials is very poor and they should learn that they are getting their salaries from the consumers like us and they are there to serve us and not act like dictators. please help me out.

should I approach consumer court or is there any other option.

Central Bank Of India — railway ticket

i looged in the website and then when tried to book ticket then i dint found the central bank of india atm/debit card option in the list for transaction.

I have the honour to state that I had booked 02 E tickets on 14.6.11 at 06:24:08 PM vide PNR No. [protected] (GARIB RATH ) for journey to be performed on 04th July 2011 from Ambala Cant Jn to Kathgodam as per Transaction ID [protected] and paid Rs.702.00 through my SBI ATM, but the State Bank Of India, Ranikhet (Uttarakhand) where my account is maintaining, has shown 2 deductions i.e. Rs.702-00 respectively, hence a total amount of Rs. 1404-00 was retrenched from my account while showing no. POS[protected] IRC and no. POS[protected] dtd. 14.6.11. It is requested to kindly reimburse Rs.702/- which has got retrenched as excess amount.
