[Resolved] LG India — LG selling Compressor for nearly two times more than MRP
I have an LG refrigerator Model GR-482BEF. I registered a complaint with your company on 04/09/09, complaint number HZQ9C90400048. An executive from J. R. Enterprises Indore MP did not inspect the fridge properly and gave me an estimate of Rs 10,567 on 06/09/09 in which he has clearly mentioned the cost of the compressor Rs 9441. He also said that a senior executive would pay a visit the same day at around 5pm. The senior person Mr Rajesh Kothari never turned up. (His contact number is [protected]). Again I called them at around 5pm and they said that they would pay a visit the next day at around 12 in the afternoon. Till date no one turned up for a proper physical inspection of the refrigerator.
After a lot of argument & follow up with J.R. Enterprises & Lotus from where we had purchased the fridge they told us that I would have to sign the estimate in order to get the work done as J.R. Enterprises did not have the parts in stock as they said the model had been discontinued by the Co. and they would have to be purchased from outside Indore.
I told them I would think about it. Please also note that the warranty on the compressor which they have mentioned in the estimate is 1year.
It was very urgent to get the fridge repaired or replaced by a new one as it a basic necessity. We were forced to purchase a new one on 08/09/09 for Rs 11600.
On 15/10/09 we have got our LG refrigerator repaired for Rs 4300. I was shocked to see that the MRP mentioned on your LG compressor model MA72 LBJG was only Rs 3285 & not Rs 9441. This means LG was trying to charge me 3times more than MRP. Secondly the warranty I have received on the compressor is 16 months & not 1year.
I would also like to inform you that on 10/08/09 my fridge was repaired by J.R. Enterprises as there was a gas leakage. When the engineer from L.G. came for inspection he told me that the compressor had broken down & that time they also gave me an estimate of Rs 8000 approx. I had to take a second opinion & I called two other people they told me that the compressor was fine and there was some kind of gas leakage & the engineer had done wrong diagnoses and they all laughed at the estimate given. Then I spoke to the senior person Mr Rajesh Kothari and he paid a visit on 09/08/09 and he also agreed it was a leakage & the compressor was fine.
Now I would like you to take up this matter seriously & I expect hansom compensation from the company and a reply within the next 24 hours of receiving this email for cheating, fraud, mental harassment & the cost of purchasing a new fridge which was not required had J.R. Enterprises given me the correct cost of repairing the refrigerator in the 1st place.
If I do not get any response from your side you will receive a legal notice from the consumer court and this email along with all the attachments I am sending you will be sent to all your competitors so that everyone gets to know how big a fraud LG Company really is.
