Hi All,

Be careful while buying Samsung Galaxy s2. As the demand is more, Samsung has now started selling i9100G version in India, which has less U/D speeds when compared to i9100.

No where on the box, the model is written or by seeing, one cannot identify. Once you open the box and switch on, the version is displayed. The price of the phone also remains the same around Rs.30000/-

Be informed, Google and see the differences between Samsung Galaxy S2 i9100 and Samsung Galaxy S2 i9100G.

Do not know why samsung is doing this!!!!!!!

Samsung customer care and service centres are suggesting, not to update software using kies. If you do so, within a day or two of buying a new phone, you have to visit a service centre like me.

Yes I agree with Kumar! I had bought a samsung galaxy S2 on this new year. On my Box it was written as stating I9100 and I haven't realised until yesterday that actually my phone is I9100G model inside the box stating I9100. I felt really disappointed that samsung has duped me into buying a lower version of S2. The IMEI number same as written on Box except the model. I9100G is not mentioned anywhere on the Box until you have to open it and see it by switching on the phone itself.

Samsung Support team! Could you please explain me why is this happening? Whereas in other countries as Malaysia it is clearly mentioned I9100G on Box but nothing in India?

I really wanted I9100 not I9100G... Please advise!

Same thing happened to me. Samsung ruined all customers by replacing exynos to texas instruments. Samsung guys think we are dummies. Samsung do you have any explanation for this.
Yes, Samsung is cheating Indian customers by doing this real fraud.

Me too a victim of this cheating. I have ordered S2(I9100) by seeing all the good review comments and recived a samsung sealed box with clearly labelled 'I9100' But inside to my horror I found I9100G.
Samsung, is this how you treat Indian customers? I have lost my complete trust in You.

In Malaysia and some other Asian countries Samsung is selling the I9100G as a different model at a lower price !

Clearly there is a technical difference between two (refer samsung site itself) and I9100G is inferior to the non-G version.

1000s of people are falling prey for this fraud and they realise it very late. Most of the people are reluctant to come out and say that they got cheated.

Now I am planning to file formal legal complaint against Samsung India to get the phone that I have paid for or to get a refund.
I too faced the same problem. I bought the phone a week ago from Bangalore, India at the price of I9100, and until I switched on the device, there was no clear way to identify whether it was I9100 or I9100G. To my horror, it actually turned out to be I9100G, but by that time the damage was already done as I had paid the amount. Samsung hasn't even informed the stores of the actual change, and it's no wonder that no sales person has an idea of which model they are selling until the device is switched on.

Despite all the questions being raised in various forums around the country, Samsung is still tight-lipped about the matter and is not clarifying its position. They are taking away customer's hard earned money, and along with it, loosing their trust (not sure if they care about that!). This shortsightedness of Samsung will make them pay later, as I for one, will NOT trust any product or packaging from Samsung. And I am sure there will be many more like myself.

Furthermore, if you look at the device that Samsung is selling in the US as Galaxy S2, you'd find it to have a far better specification than the one being sold in India as S2. It really beats me how Samsung can be stupid enough to treat customers in India as a bunch of in this internet age. Did they really think that they would be able to sell any random device in India as S2 and no one would know about it?!

A word of advice to Samsung - if you really want to be somewhere close to where Apple is, my earnest suggestion to you is treat your customers with some respect and don't cheat them. Otherwise, you may have few glorious years of fame and money, but this attitude will not take you from good to great.

    samsung mobile handset — extremely poor after sales service in the warranty period

    Sir,

    This is to inform you that I Niru Tulsyan on behalf of Vision Ahead Services Pvt. Ltd., own a Samsung Mobile model no.SCH-F679, purchased on 15th August, 2008.
    We had given the phone for repairing in December 2008 (within the warranty period). which was kept for 4 days with you & was returned later on with problem rectified by your side but as of now the same problem has arisen as such & I had given it for repair in your service centre on 2nd January, 2009 (within the warranty period). It was informed to me that I would get my handset back after two days. I have been in contact with your service centre staff since then but till date I neither got my handset nor are they giving me any clear reply when asked. I have faced a lot of mental trauma and business loss due to this delay for which I can claim suitable compensation by the way of legal proceedings or through the Consumer Forum if early action is not taken. Also in future we shall not consider purchasing any Samsung Products if such poor standard of after-sales service is maintained.
    Your early reply in this matter will be highly appreciated

    We would like to tell you that, when talked with your representatives on the said matter, it was assured to us that we will be eligible for a new handset instead of old one because of delay in delivery & non-availability of some of its parts which were needed in repairing the same but beacuse of your terrible service i have recieved my repaired handset on 03/02/2009 instead of new one which was given to you for repair on 2nd Jan, 2009. You seem to be diverted from your own words said, & as a fact we came to know about your sluggish services.

    Moreover the handset recieved & viewed by me from last 2 days still is not fully error free & there lies some problems till date, like phone is restarted automatically, sometimes get bios error, call log gets empty automatically (checked settings also) etc. Out of 12 months warranty, 5 months warranty has already passed, with you repairing (twice) the same & holding it for 1-1/2 to 2 months period. As a matter we would like you exchange this handset for a new one as said.

    You will feel remorseful that neither in future we shall consider purchasing any Samsung Products beacuse of such poor standard of after-sales service is maintained nor we will recommend anyone to do so.

    Is anyone listening to a customer who is fed up of the poor response & after sales service from Samsung??
    I have recd the old handset, said to be repaired by yr executives . But still now it has the same problems . After keeping my handset for 1& 1/2 months they have returned it back to me without any repairing !! They had earlier told me that i would be getting a new handset as the problem in the old handset can not be solved . But at the end they handed me the same handset that too unrepaired. I think that the executives in yr service center have eaten up the new handset supplied to them for my purpose & in place handed me the same old handset . This is really tragic that A Brand like Samsung has employees of this category . I am forced to take up this matter with the consumer forum in case i am not handed over the new Handset which was due to me. This old set is surely beyond repairs.The warranty is also going to expire.But i shall not be responsible for this delay from yr side in case the warranty expires. The period for which ur executives had detained my handset, should be deducted from the total warranty period, to calculate the balance warranty period for my handset .

    samsung mobile handset — Not Replacing under Warranty Period

    Mobile hanged within 2 weeks of purchased, after complaining to the retailer, they suggeted to give the handset to service centre. Service centre took 11 days for repairing, they told that Handset's Circut Board is damanged..So I went back to the Retailer for Repalcing my handset..since its only 1 month back i byed the handset...

    So kindly help me.. n suggest me for the same

    samsung / mobile — Not repairing the handset in warranty period

    I purchased mobile phone of Samsung Model J210, serial no. [protected] on 26th june 2008 fromReliance digital limited, Shipra Mall, Indirapuram Ghaziabad 201012 (U.P.)
    On[protected], their joy stick is not working, so I had handover to service center of samsung at GNH Telecom Noida with their work order no. WA [protected] date[protected] and nature of complain: joy stick not working.
    On[protected] they give the estimate of Rs. 3530 to reapir the handset.
    My point of question is that the phone is in warranty fro the period of one year, then why they were asking for the repairing charges?
    Please advice what to do ??
    I bought Samsung Star on 16.08.09. I found that it gets switched off automatically and I regiestered the complaint on 3rd day of purchase with Samsung. I was advised to visit to service centre for correction/ issuance of DO letter. When I visited to service centre, they refused to issue the DO letter saying that had you come 2 days back, i.e. within 7 days of purchase it could have been issue. Now the entire set will be opened, mother board will be checked and the repaired set will be given after 4 days.

    When I have already registered my complaint on 3rd day, that should meet the requirement of 7 days. I want my handset replaced, I will not accept the repaired set. I am ready to go to the consumer court also.

    SAMSUNG Mobile Hand set/ — Not complying with warrenty

    I have purchased one Handset for my sister from guahati on 25.04.07 from Guahati ( Assam) with a warrenty of one year. Immediately after 3 (three) months the hand set went dead I do not know why?
    I approached sumsung service centre on 8/11/07 and submitted my complin to the cervice centre. They received the set vide challan no.CG/19388 Dt. 8/11/07 and asked me to visit after few days.

    And when after 15 days I went again to have the set repaired the authority asked me to pay an amount of Rs. 2500/ along with 12% VAT. which is more or less equals to the cost of the product.
    I requested many times to theauthority but never considered my request. I have tried even customer care centre of Sumsung Mobile till date no reply has been reached.

    Can I get justice or have the hand set back from them and How.

    Samsung Mobile Phone — Defect in handset in guarantee period

    I purchased a F309 Samsung mobile phone handset from Noida with a gurantee for 12 months. With in gurantee period it has a problem of not being charged. I gave it for repair to Samsung service centre at NOIDA for necessary repairs. More the 3 weeks have passed but the set has not been repaired nor any definite commitment is made to me from the service centre causing me great inconvienience. This type of aftersales service is not expected from a reputable company like Samsung.

    Samsung Mobile — not considering warranty

    I have purchased my samsung mobile before 3 months and its charging socket is not working and company is not considering warranty and they are asking for charges of rs. 2000 for repairing of mobile... so i want to do legal complain against samsung.... never buy samsung mobiles because it is very big cheater....

          I have bought a samsung GTS 3770k phone on 04/11/2011 at Poorvioca mobiles Dindigul Road Madurai Tamil Nadu.From the day one the receiver who is receving the calls from my phone is complaining that the voice is not clear and it is like the forced air noise.So it was given to the authorised Samasung servcie center and the mic replaced by them. Then checked and found there is no improvement in the voice level. Again it was confirmed by voice recording on the same phone and the voice is completely not having clarity. So the mobile was given to the servcie center and finally the circuit board was changed. But still the problem is continuing very badly. Also the servcie engineer told to give telephone to check again,
          But it is unbelievable that the product from samasung is having thisi kind of issue. . I have checked with some of my friends who are having the same model mobile and they are also facing the same complaints like me. Thisi is very disappointed to us as a customer who loves the SAMSUNG product well. . The samasung management has to take necessary action to solve the issue soon.

              I got one handset called Samsung H1( got it when I was in UK).

              I used that handset for very less time when i was in UK. Came back to india started using that handset for couple of months.After that Digitizer stopped working and when i been to Samsung service centre, they told me that since this handset is not from India, we can not accept it and I tried to talk to the manager but I was not allowed to talk to him.

              After that I wrote one complaints to email id which i got from customer care and I have been told that it the complaint has been forwarded to Kolkata and i will get call very sortly.

              Waited for 3 months and still no call.

              i been to service centre again and again I had been told the same story. When i asked them why should we buy international brand if they cant provide service in another country, they replied thats not their concern and its upto you to buy it or not but we cant accept this handset here.


              The funniest thing is that after almost 8 to 9 months later, i received a call from samsung and i had been asked whether that set is working properly or not.
              when i told them you guys dint provide me services then phone was disconnected without any reply.

              My question is
              why should we buy samsung brand mobile if they cant provide services in another country. finally i have given up with the true fact that Samsung dont deserve to be multinational brand and its better to buy local phone that samsung.
              I will never buy samsung phone in my whole life after this experience.

                I bought a samsung tv 4 years ago. Picture started acting up (first horizontal lines then vertical lines and clears up 80% after 15 minutes). I contacted consumer services to let me know whats wrong with it. They said they have to be paid just to come and inspect it. Additional payment is required to fix it. This product is barly 4 years old. it was suppoosed to last more than that. I do not mind paying to fix it but not for some one to look at it!!
                It just proves they do not stand behind their product. It is a loss for samsung and a gain to any other non-samsung manufacturers. My recommendation is DO NOT buy SAMSUNG TV!!!!!!!!!!

                  I bought a Samsung Galaxy I5503 worth 8500/- from the shop named "Samsung Mobile" in Benachity, Durgapur, West Bengal in the first week of November,2011.
                  Since I bought the mobile, there has been several problem like frequent hangs, huge battery drain, switching off suddenly, 3G not working properly and several others. I went to the shop but they were not ready to listen to my problem and told that I should go to the service center.
                  I went to the service center and they did some preliminary checks and told that the problem is solved. After that, again the same problems happened and I went to the service center again. They again did something and returned me the mobile. Till now, I have bought the mobile before two months, and in these two months, I have visited the service center for three times.
                  Why it should be like that? I am pretty sure that the mobile that was sold to me was a defective piece and I think it should be replaced with a new one. Going to the service center once in a while is ok but not three times in two months and not sure how many times in future I will need to go.
                  Sir, please let me know whom should I contact for this problem and how should I get my defective mobile phone replaced.

                      I purchased Samsung LA37A550 LCD TV on December 2008, it worked fine for 2 years and then in Jan 2011, it developed a problem of DARK images. I had to get the backlight to MAX and brightness to MAX to watch the images. I called Samsung service, they said panel has to be replaced. Cost = approx 20000 Rs.
                      After about 4 weeks i.e in Feb 2011, the problem rectified automatically. I switched back to my standard settings i.e backlight=2, brightness = 50
                      During the last one week (Jan 2012), the TV developed WHITE BRIGHT SCREEN with PHOTO NEGATIVE images. Called Samsung support and they again told me to change the panel. Cost = approx 20000 Rs.
                      I did some investigations on my side and figured out that the t-con board is the culprit and not the panel (I actually ripped off the complete TV up to the panel separating the t-con board from the top lcd boards which are tied by 2 ribbon cables and tried this: http://www.jkturner.net/samsung/index.html since the symptoms are similar ) and assembled it back!! . Since the procedure did not solve the issue, the t-con board should be the culprit and the service engineer agreed with my finding, but said t-con board is not sold separately, so I would have to change the panel!
                      This is not true, I could actually see the same t-con board part numbers in shopjimmy.com, ebay.com and hdtvpartstores.com from AUO for AUO panels (yes, my TV panel was made in Taiwan by AU Optronics)
                      "What warranty would you provide on the changed part?" was my next question.
                      "One month Sir" was the service technician's reply!

                      So if Samsung Customer care is listening, here is my request:
                      (1) Please get a tcon board and replace it, so that I save some money! Samsung will make more money since you will have a "delighted" customer who will spread the word about excellent Samsung service!
                      (2) If #1 is not possible, provide a ONE YEAR WARRANTY for the CHANGED PART only.

                      I am being reasonable here, I am not asking for one year warranty for the complete TV, but only for the changed part. DO realize that I cannot buy a new TV every two years and can neither change panels every one month!

                      I hope somebody from Samsung would contact me soon with a valid proposal.

                        I am facing repeated issues with my Galaxy S since the day I purchased it. I have even submitted it at the service center for repairs as a normal procedure. However, the issues could not be resolved.

                        Later I even submitted a complaint with Samsung for which I got no response from Samsung except for an automatic confirmation reply.

                        Below are the details of the complaint submitted with samsung:

                        Hi,

                        I bought a Samsung Galaxy S a couple of months back and am facing problems with the phone ever since. I even took the phone to the Samsung Service Center and the Service Center told me that thay would need to upgrade the firmware after which the issues will be resolved. However, even after getting the latest firmware (2.3.3), the issues still persist and I am extremely dissatisfied with the phone. I didn't expect the best selling Android phone to be this. Following are the issues I am still facing with the phone.

                        1.At times phone goes dead with a blank screen and the only way out is to remove the battery
                        2.The earphone stops working. After making a call, the caller can hear the phone ringing but the person with the phone cannot hear a thing. Switching it off and then on resolves the issue.
                        3.Frequent hanging problem
                        4.Frequest call drops
                        5.While viewing pictures in gallery, or when in an application, control automatically comes out on home screen
                        6.Very frequently the phone doesn't get connected to Wi-fi, though a person with same phone model is connected to the Wi-Fi
                        6.At times once the picture is clicked it does not get available in the gallery.
                        7.At times Phone keeps performing random actions.
                        8 Flickering of screen at times

                        The issue here is that you cannot expect me to go to the Samsung service center again and again and I need these issues resolved.
                        Last time I had given the phone to the service center, I had to visit the center 3 time before I got get the phone back.
                        I'm sure you'll be able to help me out and find a permanent resolution for the same.

                          Samsung Duel Sim Phone is not functioning. It frequently switched off and again on. The status of the Sim also changed from 1 to 2 or from 2 to 1 without any switch indication. Menu of the statues will always remain in the message menu.Sometimes the mobile will do not do any job, it will hang.

                              I bought a Samsung Galaxy R from Sulekha Deals (Invoice Number: C2I-20171-A) on 21st December 2011. The Handset was delivered to me on 24th December 2011. On 28th December, the handset suddenly went dead and was not booting up.

                              I lodged a complaint and finally went and deposited the phone to the Service Center (Mobizone E-34, Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi) on 30th January 2011.
                              They promised the handset would be delivered to me by the next day and they would keep me updated on the same.

                              However, there was no call from their side, and on 2nd January 2012, I called them and asked for an update. They said there was a problem with the board of the handset and they have received the same. However, since their net was not working, they could not register the IMEI and hence the handset was not for delivery. They said the same would be delivered latest by tuesday.

                              On Tuesday, the same story repeated. The service center said that their net was not working and hence the handset would be delivered latest by Wednesday.

                              On Wednesday, the same story repeated. The service center said that their net was not working and hence the handset would be delivered latest by Thursday.

                              Is this how samsung's service centre's work ?? Is the net connectivity of Samsung that bad ?

                                        I HAVE PURCHASED SAMSUNG MOBILE PHONE MODEL GT-S5233S AT CROMA, DELHI DOMESTIC AIRPORT vide receipt no.008580 on 23.04.2011 under guarantee for one year.

                                        The above phone was kept in charged in the night and in the morning, it was found that the mobile is not getting on.
                                        gave this mobile to samsung authorised service center name :Asian Telecom on 15.10.2011 and work order no.is 3098.
                                        The above said service center has communicated to me that the mobile is not under guarantee. the same was complained to samsung web site. but there is no reply from samsung. And i have been cheated by charging Rs.1706.17 vide receipt no.5382 dated 30.12.2011.

                                        i had this bitter experience with this reputed brand. public are cautioned to be more care full about this samsung branded mobile.

                                        where as my other mobile brand Nokia is given excellent service.
