I just love Sony Ericsson...tats y i thot of buying Sony ericsson w960i...bt it totally disappointed me as nw its touch screen s nt at al wrkng...i've tried many times by switchng it on and off, scratcng in its touch screen bt al in vain...nw d phone s a total useless...n as it was purchased frm UK, no warranty can be claimed frm india...cd smeone suggest me a solution...? :((

I had this same problem before and I managed to fix it with a little luck and persistence.
First restart your phone and just tap the screen with your finger or stylus continuously while it’s booting, when you hear a tapping sound it means it’s working. Hope this helps bye.
I too am having problem with my SE w960i. While receiving a call recently, suddenly the screen froze ! No amount of tapping the touch-screen or "backing" helped. After I switched off, it failed to re-boot. Where can I get it serviced in India? (it was bought in Norway)
the first comment about taqpping the screen while it reboots, works. it worked for me first time, im just hoping it does not hapen to me again. does anyone know of the cause of the touch screen not working?
yey!! you guys solved my problem! my husband kept on tapping the screen while waiting to reboot (and while im still looking for another fix) but it did work! keep on tapping!! =D
I too am facing the same problem...but sometime it works and sometime not...I bought the mobile in dubai with international warranty(Warranty card available) but when i sent mail to sony i was informed that I cant get warranty in india. will knocking the consumer court will help???

Sony — W960I

I HAD GIVEN MY MOBILE SONY W960I AT SERVICE STATION (SALORA INTERNATIONAL LIMITED-MUMBAI). THE HANDSET HAD A PROBLEM ON TOUCH SCREEN. NO SPARES AVAILABLE TO RECTIFY THE PROBLEM. ALMOST A MONTH HA PASSED BUT TILL DATE NO SPARE AVAIALBE AT SERVICE CENTRE TO RECTIFY THE PROBLEM. I DEMAND THE NEW HANDSET SHOULD BE GIVEN IF THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO PROVIDE SERVICE SUPPORT AFTER SALES.

i bought W960i just one month back its really nice mobile but suddenly after using it for 20 days one it fell down from a height of 3 feet
from then onwards its touch pad is not working ..so will this problem recover what i need to do...
A NEW HANDSET SHOULD BE PROVIDED IF BACK SUPPORT IS NOT PROVIDED BY THE MANUFACTURER.
Did your battery comletely run out before you recharged it?. I had the same problem. If tapping it continuously doesn't work. Drop it from about 10 cm height. For some reason, this fixed my problem. As with all electronic equipment, it is built to withstand drops as long as it is not too high.
If this helps you out, confirm on message board so others can sort out their problems using same method
Download the update service from the sony ericsson website and update your phone... it should help

Sony — screen not good

Sony screen is not good but Samsung screen is good
the touch screen on my w960 stopped working completely...i've tried rebooting n tapping as suggested n the problem hasn't been corrected. i even tried dropping it from about 10 cm...im very frustrated...im a proud sony ericsson user but im really disappointed...:(

I buy and fix used phones and i have the same problem too. So for all those who the tapping dont work buy a LCD screen and replace it ok, that should help. This is the same reason i am afraid of the Satino idio.
Hi with that method of tapping continuously on the screen while the phone is starting up, is there a trick to it? Cos I've tried it a few times and it's still not working. Do you have to tap in one spot? etc. Any feedback would be good thanks.
hey ...i m also havin same prblm..and i also tried this tapping techniqe bt it doesnt work for me .m facing this prblm frm long tym so wat i do i take a safty pin n put it in below the screen n pull it little bit n it wrk 4 me n i hav to repeat din process every 2-3 days coz its stop wrkin in every 2-3 days.bt yesterday i got frustrated by dis n i pull out the hole screen out of it...n cleaned it proprly fixed it again it wrked proprly for 2-3 min bt after that it totly stoped wrkin.it wrkin some tym bt only task mnger open...m first tym usingsony ericsson phn..n m very disoppinted.nokia is far better .when i gone to service centre to show dis prblm they said it will cost u around Rs2300 n after listin this i get faint...coz i cant afford dat much amnt..so plz tell if i go to market for changing the screen how much it will cost...plz help...

hi i have the problem with touch screen. when the complaint has started in first time i did nt used the mobile for 1week, then it automatically started working. now while touching on the screen only the task manager is opening. iam really worried, please help
HERE is the solution to W960 phones whose touch screen have stopped working! You can do it yourself. This is how I fixed mine! If you can't do it. Have anyone who has a little more experience do it.

the tapping didnt work for me so i called my phone from my house fone and while it was ringing i dropped it about 10 cm from the ground. it works. but im sure its gonna stop working again cuz this is like tha 10th time it has froze... good luck you guys

I tried all possible way said in this forum, but my touch screen still not working. Actually i dropped my phone almost 5 feet from the ground and from that point of time its not working, earlier it was working properly. most irritating is, i cant stop b'day alarm. phone is working with keypad and jog dialer. but some functions are on touch panel only. :(

I want to know if anyone knows good reliable and cheap service center in Mumbai? I dont want to give it sony service center as they take more than 7 days and dont service it properly, I'll prefer roadside but knowledgeable person to do so.

i have w960i battery door is breaked not have any sony centaer
i have bought sony ericsson w960i model. when i connect the battery the red indicator glow. while switch off the phone automatically restarted. in the standby mode the charge area is shown as charging display.
when you say reboot the phone do you mean using the sony ericsson update softwareor what?

I bought this model SATIO around 15 days back. and now i firmly believe that i have burnt my 31000 rs.Thanks to sony Ericsson. its a completely useless cellphone. Within two weeks its touch stopped working twice. I have used sony Ericsson before and was extremely satisfied. but this time you guys just duped me. i called service center and get to know that they can only reinstall the software nothing else. can u please give me back my money ?? or should i go to consumer court. ?? i really cannot stand with this phone now onwards. i have ample of free time i'll go and sit in front of your outlets and scream to everybody about my problem. i'm ready to pay 5000 as a punishment ( for buying a sony phone ) ..but please return my 26000...hoping to receive an affirmative answer.
sony has released phone w960i...its worth less ..my touch screen stopped working ...but as u guys told i tapped it... after tht it wrks ...but sony should take care of dis...becoz its so costly cell

Here’s my fix.

You’ll need 2 things:

1. Your hand
2. Your knee

Instructions:

1. Hold phone with hand. Screen facing up.
2. Repeatedly slam screen/phone to knee.
3. Test touchscreen
4. If it doesn’t work, repeat.
5. Thank me.

my sony ericson G900 touch screen is not working..actually its not the entire screen..its only the left button..which is the YES button..there is no alternative key to touch..need your help..i tried tapping it while booting and dropping it too..need yourl help guys..
Dear All, yes I had same experience, tapping the screen did't work, but after I dropped my W960 (switched off) on the carpet, more than 50 cm, and reboot with tapping / everything was fine. THANKS!

Sony Ericsson — Touch Screen Not working

I am using your Satio U1i mobile phone with IMEI [protected]
purchased from Mobile Zone (Ernakulam). Presently the touch screen is
not working. So 2 times I bring the set to your service centre at
ernakulam(KER). They have serviced the product and hand over to me.
But the problem still exist. I have contact the service centre to
solve the problem. They told me that they have no stock of touch
screen so come after some days. Nearest service centre is about 120
KM from here. Last workorder number is SE311TH111703. Please assist me
to solve the problem.

The specified set is under warranty and repeated complaint . So made arragement for replace a new one.
hi, the screen tapping did not work, so i drop it, this also not work, then i remove the touch screen gently with a metal blade and put it back after cleaning it with a soft cloth, it worked for me now, thanks to all the idea i got here i have been able to solve the problem.that's great !
just try to touch the screen with towel, it really work for me.. just try!

    I have purchased sony KV-HP213M93 on October 28, 2007. After instaling the TV, I noticed that the picture is shaking and I felt so upset. Immediately, I called Reliance Digital Store where I was purchased the TV. They replied me that they will come in 48 hours, but it has been 1 month no body looked into my problem.

      SONY ERCISSON SERVICE CENTRE MARATHAHALLI, BANGALORE:

      I have submitted my W850 4 months back and have not got it yet. They have been saying "waiting for display to come" from past 4 months. I really wonder why it takes 4 months to reach display in bangalore, a metro city.
      The service centre people are being very irresponsible & seem like there business is cheating & nothing else.
      The servicing is disgusting.

      Even I face the same issue with my SE Mobile (w580i), Mother Board fault within 3 mnths of purchase.

      When I surrended it in one of the SE service centre in HYDERABAD, they have replaced the motherboard by the same time they have changed the battery.

      They just removed my new battery & replaced it with some old one which went down in 1 yr. when I asked they for my battery back they just gave blame excuses saying that my old battry aslo had an problem hence they replaced it too. If that's the case why do they replace it with an old one, rather than an new one.

      CHEATING is not only in one of the SE service centre it happens all around

        Hi,
        I had given my sony ericson w580i for the service where i had a problem with sim holder.
        These service centre guys kept my mobile for more than 20 days and didnt even touched it, returned back without resolving and took Rs - 150 as handling chanrges. When i given to the local service it was a minor problem and can be solved in couple of hours.

        This kind of worst activities are carried out in Bangalore.

        Hope this complain will be considered and take a strong action agaist them.
        I will produce all my details if am assured to get justice on this.

        Sony Ericsson — can't connect charger

        Given on 24 july 2010 and received on 1 Oct 2010, the charging point is working whole screen is blank.
        after 2.5 months mobile is of no use.

          TO WHOMSOEVER IT MAY CONCERN:

          I have taken an LG air conditioner from Sony Mony Borivali East shop on 19-April-2008. As it was LG's 11th anniversary in India, they had a scheme of giving away free gifts with any LG product purchase. After scratching the scratch card, an LG DVD player (model no. DV257) was written on it. I showed it to the sales preson (Mr. Atul) there. He told me to hand over the scratch card to him and said that they are collecting all such free gift scratch cards and will handover to LG company. When the gift comes from LG company, they will call me up on the telephone no. written on my bill. But, unfortunately and very surprisingly, I have not received any call from Sony Mony Borivali - West Branch from last 6 months. So I started following up with them on phone about the status of my free gift thinking that i will get it one day or hte other and also seeing that Sony Mony being a big shop will not run away. I use to talk to Mr. Atul for 4-5 months and just to tick me away he use to tell me that all gifts are pending from LG side. Once they provide all the gifts to Sony Mony, it will be handed over to me. I spoke to him every 15 days for 4-5 months. Then after loosing my patience and shouting at him one day, he told me to come with the bill. I went to Sony Mony Borivali - West Branch on 18-Oct-2008 and showed my bill to Mr. Atul and also to the shop manager Mr Jagadish bhai. He also started behaving like a professional manager. He took a xerox of my bill and told me to contact after 3-4 days. When i did so after 4 days he told me that he is in contact with LG people and will get back to me in 1weeks time. After diwali, when i again followed up with Mr. Jagadish bhai on his cell no:- [protected], he behaved very rudely with me and told me that he will get back to me in 2-3 days which he never did. Then I again went to Sony Mony Borivali - West Branch for the 4th time on 15-Nov-2008. Again i found Mr. Jagadish behaviour very rude and his attitude towards his customer very arrogant and ignorant. He gave me one no. of Mr. Saibal (Area Sales Manager LG -- [protected]). He told that he will speak to him and that i can also follow up with him on monday evening i.e. on 17-Nov-2008. When I did speak to Mr. Saibal he told me that all the free gifts had been handed over to Sony Mony Borivali - West Branch and no gift has been pending with LG. He said that he also proof that the gifts are delivered to Sony Mony Borivali - West Branch. Then again when I called up Mr. Jagadish, he did not pick up the phone as he usually does. I wrote a SMS to him informing him what Mr. Saibal from LG informed me. Listening to this he became furious and told me that you can directly talk to LG going forward and Sony Mony will not come in picture going forward.

          I want to mention here that all of those reading this should not take any product from any branch of Sony Mony and also spread this news to the maximum extent. These guys should be taught a lesson.

          If somebody from the consumer forum is reading this then please take a note of this and punish them to the maximum extent.

          Problem: The problem started within a week after its purchasing. It started giving the problem of incoming- outgoing hearing problem by the people who calls me on my mobile. The problem is in set only not with sim card as its perfectly working on other mobiles.

          This has reference to the refrigerator purchased on 11th nov, 2013. The refrigerator was delivered on 12th nov, 2013. The delivery man was requested by my senior citizen father and mother to kindly put the machine on the refrigerator stand which was kept ready.

          However, the rude delivery person refused to keep the machine on the stand and kept it aside in one side of the hall and replied that " To put the machine on the refrigerator stand is not his job'

          Really shocked about such shameless people.
          However on contacting the borivali office, surprisingly the senior person Mr Dinesh also replied rudely that " to put the refrigerator on the stand is not their responsibility"

          Definatley, shocked and surprised by such staff of sony mony, will never enter their any showroom in life.

          If this is first day experience, what can the customer expect as after sales service from such a reputed brand " sony mony"

          Will surely try to educate more and more people about the service of sony mony and request them to be away from it.

          Insuch a world of huge competition, may God give some good senses to sony mony staff.

            i bought k530i sonyericsson phone just 6 months back...it gives somany problems...like
            1. some time it won't read the memory card
            2.USB is not working properly
            3. some times it says playback mode failed...
            if i ask customer care people they say that restart and it works fine...where we can go...if they won't support?

              I purchased a Sony Ericsson K530i handset on 19th Dec 2007 for Rs.9200/-.
              2. Within two months of purchase, i.e., in February/March itself the set started to give trouble. The main problem being that from time to time the handset would not get charged. Since I have owned two Sony handsets before buying this set, which had exactly the same problem which would usually get sorted out on its own, I put it down to some kind of temporary non-serious problem and did not report the issue to the service station. In April 2008, when the problem cropped up with alarming frequency, I sent one of my office staff to the … Sony service centre. The service centre informed that there was some problem in the micro chip which will take a couple of days to repair but as I was about to leave for an outstation tour and the problem was not very serious I did not send the set for repairs.
              3. However on 24th October 2008 the set again refused to take charging at all and therefore I sent the set to the same service centre on 25th October 2008 for repair. The Service Centre informed that the set has ‘liquid seepage’ and as such would not be repaired/replaced by the company.

              4. Now the Service Centre has conveyed that I would be required to pay 70% of the original cost viz Rs. 7000/- to repair my handset which is barely 11 months old purchased at a cost of Rs. 9200/-. Furthermore, I am certain that the price of this particular model would have come down further as on date.
              However, I am unable to understand why I should be held responsible for what is obviously a manufacturing defect in either this particular handsets or more seriously in all the products/mobile handsets manufactured/marketed by Sony Ericsson. As I have stated earlier, I have prior experience with Sony Ericsson mobile handsets and a similar problem had been experienced by me with Mobile Set model bearing Number T 230. Similarly, when I was posted as Deputy General Manager, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd., West Bengal Telecom Circle, Kolkata the Sony Ericsson handsets officially provided to me also had similar problems.

              4. Now the question that remains unanswered is ‘what is liquid damage and how it is detected?’ I have explained/clarified to all the concerned personnel at the Service Centre, namely, the in-charge of Service Centre, the Engineer, the manager – ‘Sony world show room’ and even the Receptionist of the Service Centre (who also chose to interrogate me over this issue), that I am an extremely careful user (having worked in the Telecom industry for more than 10 years) and that I have not exposed my handset to any kind of moisture (let alone liquid) of any sort and that this problem was pre-existing in the handset ab-initio. In fac, t I have two 7/8 year old cell phones still in usable condition with me, of which one happens to be Sony Ericsson and it has exactly the same problem of not taking charge from time to time! Therefore, if at all so called ‘liquid seepage’ exists it may be because your handsets are unable to function with even atmospheric moisture such as is available in the air of Pune! And why is a poor customer being made to suffer and pay for what is clearly a manufacturing defect is beyond my comprehension. Further from the above it can be safely concluded that there has been some kind of manufacturing problem in the Sony Ericsson handsets and especially in this handset. As if the handset gets damaged from moisture in a dry climate such as Pune’s then there must be a serious problem which definitely cant be attributed to a user/customer. However, one look at my handset which is in pristine condition, would reveal that there cannot be such liquid seepage to the extent as to render the handset un-repairable.

              5. Further, the Service Centre Receptionist and Engineers are showing me a small strip of red inside the hand set as the symbol of liquid damage, but when I was sold the hand set, the said strip was already red for all I know! How can it be a proof that I have exposed my set to liquid and have made this red is again not understood? It is evident that Sony Ericsson wants to lead on its customers with such frivolous excuses.

              6. Further, this kind of attitude is unheard of in any company except Sony Ericsson. All the other mobile handset manufacturers respect the right of the customer to the warranty period and repair/replace the handset within that time at least. Whereas Sony Ericsson on some pretext does not even want to honour that minimum warranty period of one year. It is to be noted here that I purchased this handset on 19th of December 2007 and the one year period is not over yet!

              7. Finally, I would like to add that it is extremely distressing for a genuine customer like me who has been using Sony Ericsson handsets for long time to be treated like this. In today’s competitive environment when customers are treated with care and dignity, it is expected that Sony Ericsson may show better appreciation of my problem and give me a positive response for which I shall be very grateful. I and my staff have been visiting the Salora Service Centre, Bibvewadi, Pune and the Sony World Show Room, Lulla Nagar Pune on past several occasions starting from Oct 25th 2008.

                I bought a sony ericsson handset (w850i), and within 6months itself its display is gone. Last time when i gave it to the service centre in HSR, they took 2 months to give it back to me. I was informed that the display has gone and its taking time for them to bring it from Chennai.Ater 2 months i am facing the same problem. very worse, the so called authorized service centre guys in HSR Layout Bangalore keep telling me that it would take another week for the handset to get repaired(repeating this many time)... they are getting the parts from Chennai. The most worse part is the way they respond no proper answer.

                The HSR Authorized Service center is very worst center i dont understand why Sony Erricson people does not take action inspite of many complaints at this center.

                Very worse people at HSR Layout center they answer and they dont pickup the phone, if at all they pickup they dont answer properly.

                W580i/Black(Sony Ericson Mobile) — Misbehavour of service center

                I Have purchased W580i sony ericson mobile phone from GARG ASSOCIATES, Model Town West, Ghaziabad for Rs. 12500= with proper bill. My IMEI no. is [protected] on 17.09.2007. After few months o[censored]se it gave me problems reagrding functioning. I went to the above dealter. He told me to contact your service center namely DEEP SERVICES, Nai Basti, Ghaziabad. I went to DEEP SERVICES for repairing of my mobile. He assured me to repair it in a weeks time. After a week I inquired about my mobile he dogged me for another weeek. As such he dogged me for few more weeks. Yesterday, it crossed the limits when DEEP SERVICES owner told me that we are not responsible for dealy and even repairing of the said phone. The height was he told me that why you purchased the sony ericson phone only. We people had not come to your residence to sell the mobile phone. These were the words of your service centre person representing sonly ericson. I got surprised and also he misbehaved with me in other sence also. I am a person of repute and am having hotel business in centre of Ghaziabad. How can he behave like this with me and even defame your brand sony ericson. How people will go to buy your product, if your service centre behaves like this. I have not got even my phone till now and I am not intersted in facing that person also. I am lodging this complait of firstly not getting my mobile repaired for a month and secondly against the behaviour of your DEEP SERVICES center. If some action against is not taken against this perticular service center and my mobile repaired or replaced as a new one, I am forced to go to Cosumer court for lodging complaint regarding both the above issues. My present mobile no. [protected] and my address is PANDIT HOTEL, 7- GT ROAD, Ghaziabad. If you people are interested in redressal of this complain, I am ready to wait for your reply for a week only. I am not going to collect my mobile from that person of rude behaviour. Let my phone remain with DEEP SERVICES if repaired also.

                I do support your comment 100%.Even I m from HSR layout.My 580i is also the worst set i have seen.Within 5months of purchase my phone used to hang and calls used to get disconnected.I gave it for service and they said its missing some software update.I donno why a new phone required s/wupdate.Even now i m facing the same problem and the phone has started melting.The speaker region heats up and some kind of a black ash has formed around the speaker region.
                I did not expect such a set from Sony.I think they are supplying China manufactured sets.I wud advise whoever reads this to stop going for Sony mobile sets.
                One of the worst experience with a phone after paying 14k.Cud have had a 500 bucks china handset.

                I would like to book a complaint against Sony Erricson company. My model K510i met with an accident & its screen & body got shattered. I went the only service center of this company in Ghaziabad. They denied to repair it saying that the company does not produces body of this mobile.

                  Within a month there was a problem in the speakers of the mobile

                      My sony ericsson mobile phone display has been broken. I gave it to the sony ericsson service center which is in Roop Nagar for repairing on 26 Oct 2008. On 13 Nov, I called them up asking if the phone has been repaired or not. They told me that it can't be repaired and there is some problem with the board.
                      My phone is in warranty and if there is a problem with the board, then it should be replaced. But I am highly dissatisfied with the service offered by the Sony Ericsson Service center. First of all, they call me up after more than a week I submitted the mobile and then they say that it can't be repaired. For the first time, I bought Sony Ericsson mobile and this is the kind of service I am getting. I never faced such issues with Nokia Mobile.
                      I will like some action to be taken immediately.

Next day i informed from service center and i got to know that motherboard of the handset is not working and they have to replace it as they dont have parts so they ordered from Chennai , when they received the motherboard of my handset and checked still the phone is dead , when i inquired why my phone is not working yet, they said they have to replace some other parts . Still the parts not get replaced and the response of service center peoples are that they are helpless they are not receiving the parts from Banglore. More then 15 days passed there is no process and there is no answer at service center . Total mental harassment by Sony Ericsson and pathetic level of servicing Even Sony Ericsson not able to manage the parts of the handset .

                        i purchased s mobile phone Sony Ericsson K530i on 29/02/2008.
                        On 3-11-08 the phone is not usable. it says insert sim card.
                        I took it to authorised serveice centre Accel Front line limited in chennai greams road and gave it for serveice. They said board has to be replaced and it is under warranty. they said in one weeks time it will get ready. till date it is not ready. bad serveice. it is difficult to be without a mobile communication

                          There is a problem with sony Ericsson P1i Phone Charging.

                          The Power cord is properly fitted and the phone starts charging. But after 1 mins or so, the phone starts blinking on its own, the Phone locking symbol starts blinking, the phone charging stops. Then when the socket is again touched, the phone again starts
                          charging. Then after 1 -2 mins, the phone stops charging.

                          I switch off the phone completely, then start again to get the charging done. This problem I am facing for 2 weeks

                          sometimes when the phone is charging the Charging led doesn't light. The Phone is just 1 year old, and handled with care.

                          Is this a standard problem in Sony Ericsson Phones? Is Battery a problem. The Quality of the phone today leaves lot's to be desired.

                          The Call centre for customer care is pathetic. The Customer care Associates - Amol, Rahul, etc and Team leader hARISH GARG are BAD. If you call on the Toll Free number[protected]

                          - I called 10 times, The standard response is " Sorry, your voice is not audible, I am disconnecting the call. ' Each and every time.

                          But if you call on their normal paid numbers, everything is audible. But for every simple thing they will make you wait for eternity. They promise to call back but never do.

                          PLEASE AVOID PURCHASING SONY ERICSSON PRODUCTS - INVITATION TO NIGHTMARES AND HARASSMENT

After this i had logged a complaint in sony errisson complaint centre in sunder vihar that the phone is not getting signals, after checking the phone they say that it is not repairable here, so please show this handset in our other service centre which is situated near Rohini. Now after showing the phone in the said service centre the service engineer said the handset is not repairable and we can't replace the same because it got hitted internaly. I am asking you only this that if the handset got internal damages then why not the external. Please describe in detail. Before this incident i used to bought sony erricsson only, but now i have to think twice because the after sales service is not good.
                          Its most propobally water damage... water damage wnt cover under warranty...
                          top part of batter a white portion is thr.if it has turned red then it has come in contact with water whihc resulted in external damage...

                          I would like to get in your notice that I purchased a Sony Ericsson P1i Smart Phone on 25/01/2008 (Scanned bill attached) but since I have purchased this phone I am facing major problems with this phone. The details of phone and complaints are as below:-

                          1. The first complaint was lodged on dt 2/07/2008, problem was TOUCH SCREEN NOT WORKING, SCROLL BUTTON JUMPS & BACK PANNEL LOOSE, (complaint id – SES08BR222124 dt 18/07/2008) regarding this they only changed the jog dial.

                          2. The Second complaint was lodged on dt 05/08/2008, problem was KEY PAD MALFUCTION, TOUCH SCREEN LOOSE, BACK PANNEL LOOSE, (complaint id – SES08BR223237 dt 05/08/2008) regarding this they changed the touch screen.

                          3. But now this time it has gone to extreme that on 30/03/2009, I was talking on phone and my handset at once got dead, I thought that it may be the problem of battery down, but after doing and checking all the things my phone did not got alive. On 2nd of April in evening I went to Salora International and they checked the phone and gave it back to me saying that may be they have to load the software again in that case I will loose all the phone numbers, rather I should connect the phone with the computer and try to store all the phone numbers in phone. But neither the phone got open nor the phone numbers can be stored at my residence after connecting the phone with computer. While checking the phone at service centre I saw the person was using some kind of bond to fix something on phone but I ignored, I later on saw that the front panel was broken and the bond was used to fix that. On 7th of April 2009 I took my handset to the same authorized service centre M/s Salora International at D-13/4, Okhla Industrial Area, Phase – II, they loaded the software in my phone and told me that there is some sort of hardware problem though I have to leave my phone as may be it will be send to the higher service centre to get checked & I left my phone on the said date (complaint id SES09BR212930 dt 07/04/2009) I have scanned & attached complaint service tag sheet given by Salora International, after 20 days I made a call myself to know about the handset and I came to know that my handset has been send to Chennai as reported by the staff at Salora International, after few days I received a call again and they told me that my phone is unrepairable and motherboard of my phone is dead, if I want it to be replaced or repaired I have to spend 70% cost of the phone.

                          4. Today on 08/05/2009 I went to one more authorized service centre at Guru Angad Nagar and they told me that first they will check the software cost of loading software is Rs. 350/- other wise they will check the hardware and if there is some problem in hardware they will tell me the estimate and if I refuse to get it repaired in that case I still have to pay Rs. 250/- as min charges. After that I straight away went to the consumer court to file a case against Sony but before entering the office I made a call to helpline of Sony at 3901111 from where I came to know about the email id i.e. question.[protected]@support.sonyericsson.com then I thought to get all the details in your notice before filling case in consumer court.

                          One thing more I want to get in your notice that many times my phone use to be hanged and after doing on and off it use to work, before also two times phone itself got off but after switching it on it got opened.

                          I want to know that after spending Rs. 19100/- If I have to face this type of problem with such a nice phone then what is the use to buy Sony Ericsson phone, where as in this cost but less than the cost many other phones are available. I think that I have taken the worse decision of my life to purchase a Sony Ericsson phone, in future I don’t think that I will be going to purchase the said company phone and I will also asked all my near and dears not to purchase the said company phones as they can also face such type of problems. I am also using NOKIA N-91 Phone since March 2007 but touchwood I don’t have a single complaint with the said phone.

                          I want the higher authorities of Sony Ericsson to keep themselves in my place and think that is it justified that after a year and two months the mother board of the said phone or any phone can be dead, it seems that there was a major problem from the starting which attacked the phone as depends on usage of phone.

                          I want the higher authorities to look into the matter personally and either give me a new handset as it was defective piece from the beginning or get my handset repaired under F.O.C. otherwise I am sorry to say that I have to go to the consumer court & news agencies to get the right justice.

                          i have also mailed the scanned complaint tag sheet to your department.

                          I am waiting for the reply of higher authorities of Sony Ericsson.

                          PLEASE AVOID PURCHASING SONY ERICSSON PRODUCTS - INVITATION TO NIGHTMARES AND HARASSMENT

                          I also purchased SONY ERICSSON P1i for 22, 500/- in Oct, 2008. and today it 's in my Junkyard.
                          Touch screen no more working. Booting itself takes 5 minutes, very pathetic product by Sony.

                          I purchased P1i for 18000, and as mentioned by Asesh, it takes a hell of time to reboot and also for changing the pannel i approached so many service center in both KERALA and KARNATAKA, all are telling they stoped this model and accessories are no more available. Where as the shop " SANGEETHA, In Kalidasa Road, Mysore " has promised me 1 year warrenty by Soney Ericsson and Entire life service by the dealer shop. Still am not getting whether the company considering the coustomers as fool??? 18000 is not a small amt for me..!!! Me to planning to go for consumer court as the company itself is playing with us
                          i also had a similar problem with my 2yr old p1i and to my utter shockservice center guys tell me that the mother board needs to be replaced at the cost of RS7000/- . AND THEY HAVE NO EXPLANATION AS TO WHY THE MOTHERBARD IS DAMAGED WITHIN 3 YRS

                            An Interesting marriage of Sony Ericsson amd Salora is good enough to ensure that its mobile phone cutomers in India go through the worst kind of customer support harassment.

                            I gave my phone(W910i) to Salora (complaint ID-SES08BR225810 dt 11/09), who keep it for a month and half and then return a DEAD PHONE to me (complaint ID SES08BR227858). The returned set then dies again with in 24 hours(however they are on long break for Diwali) and I need to give it back again (SES08BR228257), where they again keep it for a week before deciding that the mother board need to be replaced again.

                            The beauty is, I gave the phone to get the front cover changed and SALORA in its extreme wisdom changed the motherboard to return a dead phone which was heating as if it had to go to moon. I give it back only to get a phone which starts stutters and shuts- didn't know SONY employs DOCTORS for service centers who give gradual resuscitation. AND YES I HAVE ALSO SPENT 1800 Rs travelling to and fro from their esteemed service centers as their outposts plainly refuse to take sets which are beyond them.

                            I am resigned to the fact that they would again give me set which would just make sure that it keeps alive till the warranty date or worse die even before. But they would not admit that they have actally harassed me enough by keeping it for over two months now, with repaeated call backs which are virtually imposssible to get and visit to their center and wasting time. I want them to replace the set as i have NO confidence in them and their service.

                            Anyways, Three Cheers to a Pathetic company.

                            Sony Ericsson — Pathetic Customer Service

                            About 20 days back I started facing problems with my sony erricson xperia x10i. The phone refused to read the sim card.

                            So on 14 may, 2011, I took the phone to their service center in dadar, mumbai to show my phone. I was met by a person called anand who informed me that they will have to check the phone before they can take it in for repairs and I was asked to return in an hour. After a hour I was told that the phones motherboard has crashed and has to be sent to chennai for 15 days. I was also informed that they had deleted all my phones data without informing me or creating a back up for it.

                            I call them after 18 days to know when I can come and collect the phone and I am told that it will take another 7 days at least and that too they not sure about it and the reason for delay is that the phone has gone to chennai.

                            My question now is how long does a phone take to go and come from chennai and how long does it take SONY ERRICSON to replace the motherboard. FYI samsung replaced the motherboard for my other phone in 2 DAYS. I also have the required documentation for that to show how efficient Samsung if required.

                            I have repeteadly called their helpline, service center and also have written emails to them but apparantly they have no time to respond to emails or check on the delays.

                                I have purchase one Mini Hi Fi component system ( MHC-GZR5D ) of Sony on 3rd October 2008 from the Sony dealer ( Popular Radio & T.V. centre, 10 Sai Kunj, Sai Park, Opp.Gurudev Hotel, Kalyan ( W ). That time there was offer of Lucky draw coupon . Which should activated through SMS within the specified period upto 2nd November2008. The dealer did not given me the Lucky draw coupon as It was not available . He assure me that he will give to me within few days. After several followup, He did not given within specified period. At last he offer the Lucky draw coupon on 6th Novemebr 2008. That time the scheme was closed & I was not aware that the scheme will be upto 2nd November 2008. Now the dealer is blaming on Sony for non receipt of Lucky draw coupons within specified time. As per me the dealer was promised me for the offer & he was not given so he is Cheatted me.What should we do further.

                                I have SONY audio system MHC - G50 ; serial no. 0509088 date of purchase =[protected].I am emotionally attached very-much with the instrument. My problem is that when I play a CD on the system it automatically jumps from one place to another. I live in SAGAR (MP) which is a relatively small city where I don`t find any authorized service engineer ( though SONY showroom has started last year ). Your visiting (so-called) engineer has recommended to change the LENS, when it did, problem is same. When I visited to open market, I came to know that CD LENS is just costing app. Rs. 80/- and he fellow charged Rs 1400/-. Is it a fair job? Now would you please to explain me the exact nature of the problem with instrument.

                                    Hi,

                                    We have applied for a Laptop Loan against Loan Account no 198376, which has been cleared and when contacted the local branch office at Hyderabad for loan closure letter, they have replied that Rs 100 has been outstanding for non payment of May 2008 installment on time. I have been advised by the doctors not to travel for 3-4 months and hence cannot undertake travel from Kukatpally (present area of residence) to Bajaj Office in Hyderabd. Inspite of several requests to send either an executive or waiver of charges or any other alternative solution the Branch Officials seems to have responded with out most carelessness and irresponsibility.

                                    I have already declared my interest to pay the amount either online or if the executive is send. Kindly provide me with a resolution.

                                      Hi,
                                      I do not know if any one ever read this complaints or comment inspite of writing twice regarding problem with my home theatre and your engineers no one had ever followed up. I have home theatre DAV120K intially i got error pushpower protector and i call your customer service engineer came and he said problem with the IC or AC cheap and they have to replace and charged me good RS. 3500. When they delivered it after a repair still i was having a problem my speakers were going out rather front speaker and center speaker were not working. So i called your engineer who came and said there is problme with my wiring which i got it checked with 2 separate electrician who said no problem with the wiring so i called your engineer again who than said it is problem with the system IC OR AC cheap again he took the system. After he delivered the system we got it checked in front of your engineer and just because your engineer didn't repair the IC or AC problem my woofer got affected and now ur engineer is telling me to replace the woofer cost me RS. 5000/-. Your engineers are solely responsible for the this as they did not repair the system properly my woofer and center speaker got affected and are not working properly now. And mind you that my system is just 1 year old. Intially i use to promote sony to all my family and friends now I DON'T THINK SO WOULD EVER DO THAT MISTAKE. And when ever call your customer service your engineers or managers are list bother. And i want a replacement of the woofer and center speaker without any extra cost. It is just because you did not hired a good enginner to take care of the product why should i pay for there mistake. Sony being such a big brand and this product and service don't seems to be a good picture

                                        I agree with all. Sony has a pathetic customer service. I doubt they have any. I registered a complaint 10 days back with the Ghaziabad service center. The Engineer came and checked the set and told that it needs to be taken to the service center. I have made dozens of calls to the service center to come and pick up the set but they don't seem to have enough time. At times, their delivery van has gone for servicing, at times the staff is on leave...some days they do not have enough time. It is really RIDICULOUS. We buy Sony products at a high price because we ASSUME that it is a big name. But this has really come as a shock. Why do we buy sony products when they can't provide good service? SHAME ON SONY...CHI CHI
