[Resolved]  Tata Sky — Mental harrassment

I have never been a tata-sky customer. I have never subscribed to their services. Still i keep on receiving messages from the company (Ta-tatasky or tm-tatasky) about pending payment dues, recharging remenders, etc. On my personal mobile number. I hope this is total violation of one's privacy and results to mental harrassment.

1. I am really frustated and disturbed by the attitude tatasky service has shown to me.

2. I am in defence and posted in vizag (dolphin hills) rt now. I had installed the connection on 07 Oct 14 but due to the cyclone the dish got damaged and after that i have tried contacting the customer care and got the WO no.s FDVXBZW AND FFDTZD8..but no one turne up for rectification and gave a call to the helpdesk...i cm to know that the WOs have been cancelled without even the rectification and intimation..even you people are not bothered to inform the customer abt the cancellation of WO.

3.Moreover the person who is doing the installation service doesnt even know how to speak to the customers and is fully corrupt..he is doing the rectification of customers who are paying him extra cash and he is even installing new connection ...when i ask him abt the rectification...(without paying him extra)..he says come thru customer care ...which itself is an extremely inefficient organisation of tatasky.

4. The person details are Kiran ( mob no.:[protected])..It is requested that his mail can be taken as a complaint abt this person and a atern action to be taken at ur end.

5. I know that since i am trapped with tatasky and thr is no refund of the amt..i have to bear with the worst customer service i have seen so far.

6. Definately i will never suggest my peers and friends to go for tatasky ever...and make sure that i spread this word wherever possible.

7. If my issues are not adressed ...i will be lodging a complaint with consumer court for the mental agony and distress caused by you people.

8. I will be forwarding this mail to all the top executives of tatasky..so as to make sure that they know what kind of management is running down below.

I recharged Tata sky account [protected] for Rs.1000 on 11th JAN at 9:27PM and your website gave me option of vouchers for apparels on amazon.in for which I was happy. I tried to use it after an hour but I got an error "The promotional code you entered has expired". So called up Amazon and they told me to call Tata sky so when I called up Tata sky they told me it will take 24 hours for voucher activation So I disconnected the call and waited for 24 hours more and tried using the voucher again same error "The promotional code you entered has expired" called back Tata sky they told me it will take 48 hours for the code activation talked to manager called Pallavi and she disconnected the call as I was asking for employee ID. I was astonished that why I was not told it initially that it would take 48 hours for activation. So tried using the code after 60 hours that is yesterday again got the same message when I tried to use it so called up twice and they disconnected twice while transferring it to senior agent now I talked to some one called Ranjith who told me I need to send email to this address "[protected]@tatasky.com". I was again astonished that why was I not told it initially itself and they made me call 6 times to Tata sky. Now I demand a refund of Rs.95 or recharge my Tata sky account as I called up 6 times and it was Tata sky’s mistake giving me wrong information to wait and they did not tell me initially itself to send the error message to [protected]@tatasky.com Now today again I get a call from someone called Swarna “Escalation agent” in day end asking me for snapshot which they could have told initially itself, so why are people wasting my time. For your kind information I am trying to purchase a lady's dress material which comes under apparel category so I am trying to use it correctly so don't give ma nayother reasons..

I think this is Tata sky’s mistake for making me call so many times so I demand Rs.95 recharge on my Tata sky account [protected].

1. I am forced to approach inform you all due to continuous harassment by Tata Sky which is on increase since last 2-3 years.

2. Recent issue is of ID No [protected] which was recharged for one year for Supreme Sport Pack but since we were not able to see many channel, I requested to TataSky many time to change to South Special pack suitable to me but they have not and said it will be done after expiry of the present annual subscription which expired on 19 Feb 15.

3. When I had requested on 20 Feb 15 many time, than call centre told me to first recharge than it will be done. There new IVR system has become time waster of customers and it take 8-10 minutes to be able to speak to any executive of call centre, which can not be justified.

4. When I recharged with Rs 1991/- for annual subscription of South Special pack, my TV screen was blank and when I called up to call center, again they wasted my 20 minutes and said that request will be taken for technician to check the set top box. About changing of base pack, once again they had refused & hang up the phone.

5. Such harassment of Tata Sky is on increase like for my another ID [protected], after confirming the call centre, I recharged for one year South Special Pack in Aug 2014, I was told that it is for less than six months.

6. Even whenever we forget the password to change the base pack on net, Tata Sky require about two hours to send new password. Which can not be justified in today's world of IT. This is another example of harassment beside wasting our money on unnecessary long calls.

7. May I request you all to approach Govt to take action against such unfair practice and necessary action will be taken to save millions of Indian from unfair Practices of Tatas (Although I used to praise Tata for their fair business practices but now it is in competition with Ambanies o[censored]nfair practices).
TataSky service is of average rating. TataSky should not increase channels prices on their own. TataSky is appx 7 minutes behind the actual broadcasting time. TataSky has a security number flashing on the screens always, which totally disables the remote control. The remote resumes its control only when that number has disappeared. I have spoken to TataSky customer care, but they are least bothered about it. TataSky should provide services according to the states of India. I am living in Maharashtra and 70% of my channels belong to different states, and languages, which is a total fraud and I am wasting unnecessary on those channel, which I do not use or see at all. If I ever get a chance to speak with the IBM, I will really scrutinize TataSky even if my voice stands one against thousands.

This is to bring to your attention that your team added "Active vedic Maths" without my consent to my ALC pack.
When i realised the increase of rs.183 in my bill, i called your call center to request them to discontinue... instead your sales person started insisting i continue it till some offer period till may. I kept telling him that i don't want it as do not have kids at home nor do i need it. He wasn't ready to understand my point and kept blabbering.

I have recorded the whole conversation with him (some Kuldeep from Pune). Kindly take action on the following:
1. Why the pack was added when i didn't consent to it. I can get my phone records to prove my point.
2. why do i get my call transferred no. of time and often dropped out of system when i call on your toll number. it is very harassing.
3. why was the salesman insisting i continue with a pack i never need.


I am your very old customer (since 2009) and have never faulted. Your team is very inefficient and rude.
Please tell me how should I get justice? will you hear me out?

TataSky is good so long as there is no need for you to get their help in any way. If you have to call their help desk to get anything done, then you can start praying to God which I think gives you a higher probability of it getting done. Let me narrate one of the bad experience I had with tataSky. I shifted my house where I had a tatasky connection to a new house and since my in laws were staying in my old house, I took a new TataSky connection. After 2 months, I cancelled the old connection I had and put in a request to shift one of the set top box to the new connection. There started my problems. One technician came after some 5 calls and then said there is an issue with the receiver and then I never heard from him. I then got an SMS and the Work Order was closed. Over the next 5 days, everyday I tried contacting Tatasky and every time I spent an agonising 15 minutes at least explaining the situation to them. Every day, I will then get another call from the local tatasky folks asking if the issue is resolved - and I again have to spent another 15 minutes with them. Then nothing happens . This has continued for the last 5-6 days and I have given up and now want to cancel the third set top box. Unfortunately I paid for an year and so have to wait for that time. I have decide to switch over to Airtel as their service is far better is what I hear.

So long as you do not have to call them, everything is fine, else their help desk and support really is bad, so bad. And never ever attempt to shift a set top box from an earlier connection OR try and shift the connection to a new address - you will tear your hair in frustration.

Till today ( 07/04/02015 ) I haven't received you services for 7th day continuously . Last most it was two days and totally it was 9 days of service that I had lost which has to be compensated. Tata sky has become one of the filthy third rate company. I am not able to reach any of your call center or no one cares to give me a call back even after sending hundreds of mail for past 7 days . I am ashamed to claim that I have Tata sky as my DTH and will never buy any of Tata's products in future. You are totally irrelevant to customer service .

I'm getting irritated by your call centers response. They are treating like a fool. No of your service agent even called me in this 7 days. Even if you have a justification o[censored]p-gradation but how can you upgrade at my cost . Moreover you make the customers frustrated over this issue. I am frustrated over your add saying that it is a know problem and give a missed call so that we will call you shortly. What do you mean by shortly? 7 days? .

On 6/3/2015 I called TATA SKY Customer care on [protected] and requested for a new connection. The very next morning someone came and installed it. It worked well for 24 days on the 24th day, that is 30/3/2015 The service got deactivated. I could no longer watch the channels. I tried calling the customer care on 30/3/2015, same number as above mentioned. One machine answered my call and said "This is not a valid number". I checked the Internet the number shown in the TATA SKY website was same as the one I dialed. I kept trying repeatedly one after the other 18 times, 18th time I got a pre-recorded message saying SMS NS to 56633 to rectify the complaint, I sent an SMS NS to 56633, did almost 20 times, in the 5 days. No response at all. I tried calling the customer care again, this time, the same as pre0recorded message says send NS 56633. I did many times, No use at all. On 5/4/2015 I got a message that the technician will soon call me to fix the problem. I have had no calls yet its been three days since the time I got a message. The damage I had was enormous. Being a strong Christian believer I was eagerly waiting since months to watch the documentary on NATIONAL GEOGRAPHY "killing Jesus". I missed that being an auspicious Easter Day. I paid Rs.3000/- and got the new connection, not even a month's service. In simple terms I am thoroughly cheated, ZERO COMPLAINT REDRESSAL POLICY, ZERO AFTER SALE SERVICE. No numbers to call, no emails they respond. Its been seven days I am missing out on my Daily news, political debates and other documentaries. I am also raising a complaint to the TATA SKY CEOs Office, since I am cornered and have no other go. I have been Cheated by TATA SKY.
My subscriber ID Number is [protected] and for the last 10 days I am not getting Tata Sky Channels even though I paid the subscription punctually. The worst thing is that I could not contact TataSky at any cost. When I ring to their number, I am getting the answer that "This number is not valid". I tried nearly 100 times to their both Helpline numbers. There is no any other number to use instaed. In a nut shell Tata Sky service is "Just Pay and help Tata bygiving money." I am not even ready to give a single star to Tata Sky and I really repent with their worst service.

Tata Sky has turned into a bogus entity. Consumers are suffering like anything. No way to know what actually contributes to the problem, and how long it would take for resolution. Every option like customer care number, on-line chatting etc, have been turned into a frustrating and wastage of time activity only. In twenty first century when customer care and grievance redressal have been the buzz word for service sectors, this tata sky customer service is running in reverse direction. They don't even think of intimating customers about how long it would take. This is high time to switch into other service providers, despite of a monetary loss. Thank's to TATA PHILOSOPHY of customer grievance redressal... The CEO is to be honoured this time for GREAT ORGANISATION for highest customer satisfaction.

I have buy Tata sky online from Tata sky portal on 01/04/2015
Subscriber Id.No.[protected] & work order No.HF7KYHT. But till date installation was not done I had call customer-care several time (Daily) they told there was problem of local cable operator hence your account cancelled . I told them there is no problem for installation as in our building already two tata-sky connection. But my problem still remain so on dated 9/04/2015 I request customer-care if you think there is problem pls refund the amount.

FIRST COMPLAINT FILED ON 3 RD APRIL.TILL DATE NO RESPONSE.

This is really frustrating and Tata Sky should be sued for playing with the emotions of the customers. No kind of apology would be acceptable hereafter. I am going to change Tata Sky to better vendor as soon as I am done with my subscription.

Sir, You may please go through the detailed mail I had sent to your Nodal Officer which has not yet been responded. Further to it I had 2 online chat session today as mentioned below :
1) with Jayanth Nagaram Chat Ref ID 2263531 who informed that he had checked with the concern desk and they would call shortly. 2) lastly with RMohan Singh Chat Ref ID 2266386 who hearing my concern that why my account still not DEACTIVATED and a daily subscription still being deducted .He came with BEST reply being in service sector " THERE IS NO USE OF RAISING THE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS WITH THE SAME ISSUE".

You being the CEO of a service sector just explain how TATA SKY can accuse its customer (of last 8 years) for even raising complaints ?? As a customer until the issue resolved of course I would complain. RMohan Singh even DENIED to register any further complaint, hOW IS THIS ??? If the Chat had gone on record you can observe that he was not bothered at all with customer's concern and just giving patented answer "it will be resolved shortly" and on my query suggested to write to [protected]@tatasky.com.

In my mail to your Nodal Officer I have details of all my online requests started from 12/4/14 regarding de-installation, re-installation and lastly de-activation and the various chats I had with chat ref. ID and the name of person.From the last chat its clear all the chats/complaints gone ON RECORD but for some unknown reason you have decided to IGNORE all these. I DO NOT SEE ANY REDRESSAL/RESOLUTION coming from TATA SKY but you are very prompt in deducting the daily subscription when its on record that TATA SKY never responded to my re-installation request so I have decided to DEACTIVATE that is to close my account and was assured by Alok Kumar, Chat Ref Id 2248485 dated 30/4/15 that " I WOULD LIKE TO INFORM YOUR ACCOUNT IS TO BE CANCELLED BEFORE 1/5/15" . Looks like until the balance amount exhaust there is no other way to cancel my subscription.

YOU MAY MAKE A NOTE THAT I AM STILL PAYING DAILY SUBSCRIPTION TO TATA SKY FOR NON SERVICE AND ONCE MY ACCOUNT BALANCE COMES TO ZERO HOPEFULLY MY SUBSCRIPTION STANDS CANCELS . I DO NOT OWE ANYTHING TO TATA SKY AFTER MY BALANCE AMOUNT EXPIRES.

Dear Sir, I would like to bring to your notice the pathetic services from TATA SKY as per details given below:

1) Through SR[protected] on 12/4/2015 requested for de-installation since we were relocating on 15/4/2015 from Navi Mumbai to Hyderabad. Instead of requesting your customer cares it was not taken place and we had to do it personally. YOUR TECHNICIAN AND CUSTOMER CARE STARTED CALLING AFTER WE REACHED AND SETTLED HYDERABAD.
2) We had requested for 15 days Subscription holidays w.e.f 14/4/2015. Also had online chat with VasudevaReddy Reddy with Chat ref Id. 2192341 for cancelling your service thats closure of account and given request ref no.1-[protected] and till date do not know what happened to that.
3) On 29/4/2015 through SR[protected] we have requested for re-installation SO FAR NO RESPONSE FROM TATA SKY
4) Since we already had doubt about your re-installation service we also put a request for DEACTIVATE ACCOUNT through SR[protected] SO FAR NO RESPONSE.

Other than that I had online chat with Shilpa Kulkarni on 29/4/2015 with Chat Ref. ID 2243341 who had taken my request for Deactivation of account with immediate effect and given request ref no. 1- [protected]. When as per her assurance no one contacted by 30/4/2015 and rather found you deducting daily subscription from the account, again had online chat with Alok Kumar on 30/4/15 with Chat Ref Id 2248485 and he had taken complaint no.1-[protected] and mentioned " I would like to inform your account is to be cancelled before 1/5/2015"

But as on date still there is no response from Tata Sky and my account still ACTIVE and you ARE STILL DEDUCTING DAILY SUBSCRIPTION SHAMELESLLY WHEN ITS ON RECORD THAT SINCE YOU DID NOT RE-INSTALL WE ARE NOT AVAILING ANY SERVICE OF TATA SKY and as per Alok Kumar the account has to be closed before 1/5/2015. As per record I had requested THRICE to deactivate my account. First on 14/4/2015 during online chat with vasudevareddy reddy, Sceond on 29/4/2015 through online chat with shilpa Kulkarni and Thirdly on 30/4/2015 through online chat with Alok Kumar. But still so far no action from Tata Sky. So you may explain for what you are charging and when you are supposed to get back to your customer with confirmation of the deactivation and refunding the balance amount in account.

I had file a complain WO HZ7L8LT. DTD 06.05.2015. Which has been attended on 8.05.2015. & That is also not completed properly. Whereas whatever channels were visible i.e. also not visible now.

Your technicians are coming without tools & tackles. & they requested that they will come again on Monday . after continuous follow up also they are not responding & after attending call they are using bad language stating we can’t do you can do whatever you want.

IS THIS THE WAY OF RESPONSE?

There is no single person responsible . Every time customer care will take min 30 min To reach Executive.

after that telephone lines are not working properly & unable to here . s the call will drop. i had tried 2 days for 1.5 Hrs. daily .
