On my mother's icici sb account, since april 2019 till june 2019, there have been multiple online transactions from google, and amounts debited, without any authorization. There have been a series of online transactions of mostly rs.420/-, rs.799/-, sometimes more than 5 transactions per day. This seems a serious security breach. How can the money be debited from the bank without any confirmation from the customer?
She has lost over rs. 33, 000/-. My parents visited the bank, but there was no help given to find out how the transactions happened without customer approval. The bank (Icici vignanagar, bangalore) only suggested we block the account and debit card. My parents withdrew the remaining amount from bank with about 1000/- left out in the account, but to their shock, there was another debit after that as well.
We have reported the issue to google help site as well, no response so far.
Please help, we are clueless how the money has gone and why there has been so much indifferent attitude from the bank to help us.
