Huge rant incoming, but i'm losing my mind and have absolutely no idea how to get icici bank to tell me anything more than 'under process'

I have been an icici bank account holder for as long as i can remember but events of the past week have made me doubt the banks in india and if they care about the consumer at all.

On 6th october, some guy in a location abroad goes to withdraw over 1.6 lacs from my account in 5 mins, while i am able to just block the card. Obviously, my atm card got skimmed and someone made these fraudulent transactions. I report it to the customer care at icici bank immediately and they ask me to submit a bunch of documents, which i send over email the next day and also submit personally at a bank.

Apart from the average wait time of 30 minutes to speak to an 'executive' who will have the standard answer of my request being under process, i received no communication from them regarding my request. Today, on a bank holiday, i get an email from them saying my documents were never submitted when i have confirmation from the branch and email address i sent it to. They ask me to speak to customer care executive, who i can't speak to because i don't have my card which is obviously blocked.

I kept tweeting to their @icicibank_cares address until they responded when i asked them how to get a credit card and not when i was asking them about my case

My case is still pending and i have been robbed of my money due to the lax security practices at icici bank on top of which they don't provide any sort of resolution to their customer. It's really frustrating as a consumer who 'believed' banks will always have your money, it's not true. These banks don't have their security in place

For customer experience, i give this bank a 0. There's nothing good about being an icici bank customer. You are better off being an hdfc, axis or any other bank's customer. I have no idea if the bank will refund this money but such experiences just shake your faith in the whole 'system'. There's no point of keeping money in banks when its so easy for anybody to just hack you and withdraw it. After paying 200 rupees fees for cards, insurances etc, it's just disappointing.

Limited liability of a customer (A) zero liability of a customer 6. A customer’s entitlement to zero liability shall arise where the unauthorised transaction occurs in the following events: contributory fraud/ negligence/ deficiency on the part of the bank (Irrespective of whether or not the transaction is reported by the customer). Third party breach where the deficiency lies neither with the bank nor with the customer but lies elsewhere in the system, and the customer notifies the bank within three working days of receiving the communication from the bank regarding the unauthorised transaction.

If you are in this scenario, you are entitled to a full refund. It's where my request lies to but the bank won't respect it

Edit: burden of proof 12. The burden of proving customer liability in case o[censored]nauthorised electronic banking transactions shall lie on the bank.

    2 weeks before my user id is disabled, i'm already called TO customercare and try through internet many times and also i will meet your peelamedu branch/coimbatore also.there is no response from your side.
    please activate my user id as soon as possible.please send proper cutomercare Number for coimbatore city, Tamilnadu also.if you did't solve this problem, cancelle my net banking, i will use another bank account.

    My mastercard secure code has been blocked due to repeated entry of invalid data. Even on calling the icici customer care it was only a prerecorded transaction. I am not able to do any online transaction. So, kindly resolve this issue asap.

      Sir, i make a payment to nios through icici payment gateway rs. 4500 on 25.09.2017 and again rs 4500 on 26.09.2017. But the transaction was failed due to network error. Both of times amount deducted from my account but the the amount was not credited on nios.

      On last date i successfully make this payments again to confirm admission. Till bow i did not get the refund of my previous transactions (2 times).

      I made this payments through sbi internet banking and i contact to sbi for this issue and they says "as confirmed with merchant, transaction igacbxdfu4 has been successful and settled. For more details kindly contact your merchant."

      My two failed transaction id are:

      Both are failed please look into this matter and give reply as soon as possible.

        Till now i haven't used my card on a single day and still i am getting bills. I have called customer care service so many times to cancel my card but nobody responds or either call is disconnected in between. Nobody responds regarding this in branches also. Highly condemned behaviour.
        I immediately want my credit card to be closed and no charges should be imposed on me.

          On[protected] at 4.36 am i got 2 messages stating that my credit card was used for two transactions each of cny 600.00 at www.steampowere. but i didnt use my card at all and debits were done without my consent. I didnt receive any otp alert. Witout any authorization the trasactions took place and my account was debited. The transactions were done in foreign currency and i'm in india.

          Kindly arrange for reversal of the trasanctions and block my card immediately.

            Sir/madam,

            I tried to recharge my jio phone number via the bhim app ([protected]@upi) through [protected]@icici upi on 13th october 2017, 1:19 am.

            The money was deducted from my bank account, however, it hasn't reached jio. I contacted the jio customer care and they confirmed that they haven't received the money.

            Please refund the money back to my account. Else, i'll have to lodge a formal complaint to the consumer court.

                My name is mahendra singh dhami, i had a saving account in icici bank, account no.[protected] khatima branch, udham singh nagar, uttrakhand. I joined a company in noida and provided all the required documents to icici bank agent in company to get converted my saving account in salary account.

                But even after 6 months they did' t converted my account and keep deduct mab charges regularly+ gst.

                I am not expected this kind of service from icici bank and regret to have account with icici bank.

                    I would like to bring to your notice that, mr. Suryavanshi who is stating that he is an employee in your re-known icici bank has been harassing me, my family members (As well as to the people who are not related to matter) to recover a loan which was taken by my father mr. Ashok thakkar 12 years back.
                    Following points are parts of my concerned :

                    1:- it is a barred loan, then too your employee have harassed by calling several people continuously.
                    2:- legally you can always reach out to the guarantor or witness but they don't have rights to contact people who are not even aware about the matter.
                    3:- i fail to understand that how did they managed to find contact details and address of the people without their consent.

                    I have also filed an nc against the recovery guys named, have attached the same as well:

                    Following are the people who are not at all related to the transaction & still got abusive calls :

                    1. My wife ms. Kinjal thakkar
                    2. My inlaws
                    3. My society neighbours
                    4. My sister's family
                    5. They acted as courier guy and called 2 of my cousin's office

                        I made an imps funds transfer from my icici bank account to sbi loan account.
                        The money was immediately deducted from my icici bank account but i received the message that transaction failed due to time out at sbi's end.
                        And i am asked to wait for t + 2 days to get the transaction issue resolved.
                        I tried calling icici bank customer care but they were not helpful and asked me to wait for t+2 days.
                        This is really pathetic. I have a commitment to make the funds transfer today itself. If a imps transaction is not successful for whatsoever reason the money should be credited back to my icici account immediately.
                        Why is icici bank causing inconvenience to customers like me by asking to wait for t+2 days.. Rbi should seriously look into such matters and fine such arrogant banks heavily.
                        This is causing lot of stress to me and i m sure there would be thousands of customers like me who are feeling the same.

                          My name is rajiv mehrotra from hazaribag, jharkhand and have a savings a/c no.[protected] with linked credit card.
                          On 11th of october i booked a ticket from bangalore to ranchi in go air flight no g8-272 and pnr no. E995mq fromyatra.com with my credit card for rs 4647/-. But for the same ticket deduction has been made twice. My credit card statement shows the same.
                          I contacted yatra.com on this issue but they have checked repeatedly and said that they have received payment only once against which the ticket was issued. They said the payment may be in gateway and would be reverted to you shortly.
                          I request you to kindly check and revert the excess of rs 4647/- at the earliest.
                          I even called your customer care but did not get satisfactory answer.

                            Reason : When I go through the 2 step verification, I receive the activation key but I cannot use it as the application shows some other account number details.

                            I contacted bank and got to know that the same mobile number [protected] which is my number is registered with the account number[protected].

                            I request you to please do the needful and get back to me ASAP.

                            Request you to please remove my number from that bank account which doesn't belong to me.

                                Banking with icici bank has really become a pain for me these days.
                                One: un-informed one assist plan activation
                                I have received sms from icici bank that rs-1899/- deducted from account to one assist plan without my permission for second time.. I have raised a complaint through the icici bank customer number on two occasions (Which are again a rip-off as it makes you phone bill minimum of rs 50/- because of their really long queues) and told them that we are not at all interested in this services and this kind of charging to account without any consent/agreement. I really demanded refund of money for phone calls i made to them.
                                Two: linking up your adhaar card a pain
                                I am not able to link my adhaar card to my account. Whenever i try to do it i get a message saying name/date of birth mismatched. So visited icici madanapalle branch (Home branch) with an inquiry regarding what to do about it. Was told that my surname was not return in full and was only one letter "s" (The bank person who created my account didn't even have some common sense to write my full name as in the application/passport proof provided) and got a dissatisfying reply, that it is not possible to correct an account holder name and options only being;
                                1. That needs to bring name change affidavit/copies of newspaper publications/pan card/voter id and aadhaar card. (With new name on it)/change of name change gazette notification
                                2. I need to close down my account and start a new one with correct name.
                                3. Get name changed on adhaar card (Suggested by local bank staff)
                                For option 1: it’s really a hectic process because we all know how much time and money would be wasted in government approvals and
                                For option 2: i would not like to close this down as its associated with my 10 years of banking history.
                                For option 3: really a bad suggestion as my full name is same in all the documents and how will i make it just one letter and i have to sort this out asap before the deadline of jan 1, 2018.
                                I understand if it was a name change. But it’s just a small correction and there should be some procedure to sort these things out.

                                  I just recently attached my debit card to paypal and after few hours of attaching it there was a transaction made first of 1 dollar usd and another 55 usd. I didn't authorized these transaction. Paypal doesn't seem to be helping out or return my money so i need you to either contact them or give me my money back.

                                  Before the paypal transaction there were several other unauthorized transactions as well of amount :-

                                  Inr 50
                                  Inr 190
                                  Inr 320

                                  These were all done on the same day before that 1usd transaction from paypal. I do not know who did this but i want my money back and i need that back fast. This is a very humble request. Please check the attached images, i have requested paypal to refund but they are not responding and i don't even know if they will return they are not an indian company and i am an indian i don't have trust on paypal but icici bank is an indian company and i trust you people that you will be able to get my money back to me.

                                    I had opened sb a/c with erstwhile bor, nehru road, sikar on 05.01.2006 where i was doing satisfactory transactions. Thereafter, the bank was merged with your bank but there was no communication from regarding increase of minimum a/c balance from rs.1000/- to rs.10000/-. On completion of pass book, i observed that total amount of rs.3374.48 is debited in my sb a/c on 10 different dates during 09.03.2016 to 15.11.2016 being minimum balance charges, however nothing was communicated to me regarding keeping minimum balance of rs.10000/-. As soon as i came to know, i had deposited rs.150000/- on 13.11.2016 & now credit balance in a/c is more than rs.2/- lacs.

                                    On noticing the debit of charges, i contacted branch manager of your nehru road branch, sikar & requested him for the reversal of entries but he refused & advised to contact customer care.in turn, i contacted customer care & requested for reversal amount of rs.3374.48. They accepted my request & reversed rs.1603/- only (Rs.400.75 each on 4 occassions during 20.05.17 to 20.06.17). Now i request you to kindly arrange to reverse remaining amount of rs.1771.48 (3374.48-1603) in my sb a/c no.[protected]Customer id hn0349553) immediately & oblige.

                                    In case you are helpless in this regard, pl inform me accordingly so that i may shift my sb a/c to some other govt bank. I have also closed my demat a/c. Thanks & regards. Neeraj mehta

                                      Mode of payment – auto debit on or about at 22 of every month from saving account stated above.
                                      Issue

                                      1. 14 auto debits were successfully done every month from 06-2016 till 07-2017. But the last auto debit of august i. E. 08-2017 was not done from the banks side. (Saving account was having sufficient balance)

                                      2. I came to know about this in september through the e statement that the last payment of rd is not been debited yet. So i called customer care to conform this, there i got the reply that sir u contact your nearest branch, i visited my nearest branch that is gnps branch, udaipur on 12/09/2017 were the employee of the bank told me to deposit the cash rs. 2000 in the rd account. And i did the same.

                                      3. On 22/09/2017 my rd’s maturity date when the maturity amount was not credited to my saving account, again i called customer care where she told me that my maturity date is 12/10/2017and she don’t know the reason for the shift in the maturity date and told contact your nearest branch, i visited my nearest branch that is gnps branch, udaipur on 25/09/2017 were i had discussion with the bank employee and they admitted that it was an technical error due to which auto debit was not made in august, and cash was deposited on 12/09/2017 due to which maturity date sifted to 12/10/2017.

                                      4. They realized there mistake and told that they can compensate me to loss of interest by reverting the charges of debit card which are being deducted from my account. And they made the reversal of amount being charged 172.50+171.75 = 344.25/- total on[protected] for letting me wait till maturity on 12/10/2017 with the maturity amount of rs. 31535/-

                                      5. Now on[protected] my saving account was credited with rs. 31511/- instead of rs. 31535/-. A deduction of rs. 24 was made without any clarification. The bank employees also don’t know the reason for this deduction nor does my statement have any entry for this deduction.

                                      Points to be noted:-
                                      1. To compensate their mistake they have reverted me my 2 years debit card charges, is it legal to revert these charges. As they are correctly debited as per the rules.

                                      2. No information regarding the deduction of rs. 24/-.
