I was trying to book a ticket on the dli-dbrg suvidha special. I gave my seat preference as sl i.E. Side lower.
The system asked me to enter my payment details which i did, after which the message was displayed that my seat preference could not be fulfilled. At the same time, the ticket money had already been deducted from my account.
This, when i had specified in my choices that i only wanted the ticket to be booked if my preferred seat was allotted.

If irctc cannot fulfill my seat choice preference, why is it deducting money from my account beforehand? If i am short of money in my account, i cant even avail the option of booking a ticket in some other train.

Why offer this facility only if the idea is to grab the money from the consumer first and then pretending to provide the service promised?

This process can cause trouble to consumer if the consumer isn't aware of it beforehand, and doesn't have large account balance at hand.

    Respected sir,

    I tried to book the ticket in irctc website on 24/02/2016, but unfortunately it failed. The amount i.E., rs.507.90 got debited from my account with transaction reference[protected]Through indian bank net banking) dt.24/02/2016 at 18.34pm. I waited for many days but still not got refund from the bank.

    Kindly resolve this issue and help me out.

      I am travelling from manmad to nizamudin on 29.3.2016. My train no. Is 12617 and pnr no. is [protected]. I have my tickets confirm of three passengers. Some people from railway court has come in between of gwalior and muranna station and asked me for ticket I have shown them my tickets then he ask me for id proof but I show him my RC of bike but he refused that it will not be valid. So he took 3330 rupees from me. I have slip of that challan

        Sir,
        I tried to booked a ticket on 22/03/2016 at 23:45 hrs. From irctc website.
        But they taken my money but no ticket issued for that money.
        I have logged complain through mail to [protected]@irctc.Co.In.(My ticket id-#3118151 on 23/3/26,
        #3126174 on 25/3/16,
        #3144765 on 28/3/16)
        But only autogenerated mail received.
        I'm requesting to please do something so that i get my money back.

          We 2 persons travelled on 13 mar 2016 by train no 12277(puri shatbdi) frm hwh to jjkr.aftr balasore stn they provided soup.wen i asked fr soup, they denied. The catering boy told dat soup is nt fr the tickets upto jjkr... i felt ashamed.. from bls stn to jjkr stn distance is of time 1 hr 45 min(approx).if soup is nt for tickets upto jjkr den y u ppl provide it at bls stn.it sud be provided aftr jjkr only...

            The train ticket was charged 3times the actual price it's ok. the amount of service we get after payuing 4000 for the ticket of just 1100 is not worth.
            The catering service provder do not provide the proper meal also i asked for the meal he said we will adjust in morning also he do not provide the complain no. in morining also he do not provide the proper meal as per the breakfast.
            i think there is big scam is going in catering service as well as in ticket price.
            the goverment should check.?

                Hi team,

                I had done transaction on 23rd dec 2015 for reservation on 21 feb 2016 but came to know from internet and dial no. 139 that train is cancelled on 21 feb 2016.

                Amount of rs . 1380 was not refunded. Irctc is not taking this issue on priority even after my multiple mails.

                I am also facing the same issue. Looks like IRCTC is interested in robbing our money. Lets take action against IRCTC
                We are awaiting for your positive resolution... It has been too long. No one from ITCTC is taking it seriously but straight away refraining themselves, stating that money can't be refunded as you are late whereas customer care guys from ITCTC told that it takes one week time. Money will be refunded.

                Please help.

                  We, a party of six, were travelling in B5 and B1 coaches of 22811 Rajdhani Express from Bhuvaneswar (BBS) to Bankura Jn (BQA). Our berth nos, were B5-21, 22, 23, 24 and B1-22, 32. Our complaints are as follows:

                  1. We learnt from the Meals on Wheels menu that a welcome drink would be served as soon as the train leaves the originating station. That was not served in B5 coach.

                  2. We learnt from the Meals on Wheels menu that a cup of curd would be served with every meal to the passengers. That was not served with the non-veg meals in B5 coach. In B1 coach we had to ask for it. The passengers, who were shy of asking, were not served the item.

                  3. We learnt from the Meals on Wheels menu that a cup of ice-cream would be served with every meal to the passengers. That was served too late. Because of which most passengers were unable to enjoy the item since they were taking an afternoon nap. The catering staff were casual in their approach to serve the item. Is this the way the Railways want to make profit?

                  4. We complained through SMS to G.M. Quality Control No. +91 [protected] from train on 27.03.2016. No redress. Although the train was running one hour behind schedule.

                  5. We learnt from the Meals on Wheels menu that it was against the rules to tip the catering staff. We declined giving tips to a catering staff of B5 coach, because of which he mocked at us.

                  6. We request the authority to take necessary action.

                    Hi support team,
                    I have booked a tatkal ticket from cstm
                    To bpl for punjab express on 9th jan,
                    2016 and date of journey was 10th jan, 2016.
                    For reason train delayed more than 3 hours and
                    The passenger has not traveled, i filled the tdr
                    For the same in irctc against my ticket and the
                    Status was turned to cr registered, but the
                    Amount was not refunded yet.
                    I am not sure what else i might be missing to
                    Get amount refunded. Please let me know what i

                      My name is Aswani, my brother reserved tathkal ticket and we have xerox copies for that ticket, but i forgot original ticket at home in a hurry to go as my mother's condition is not good. But i am having xerox copy and Valid ID proofs with me, but TC charged 1400/-. As per the rule if we are not having original copy, but having PNR, we need to pay 50/- as fine amount. Here i have my xerox copy of ticket and i'm ready to 50/-. But instead of that amount he demanded pay 1400/- otherwise asking me to get down from train. Just imagine i am girl and time is 10pm and i don't know any places near by current station. I tried to request him, he is very rude and arrogant. First let me know why should i pay 1400/- when i am having xerox copy of ticket and valid ID proof with me?

                        My user ID 'asminox' was disabled for the reasons best know to IRCTC.
                        I rmailed to IRCTC customer care on 18th March and there is no response from them.
                        The web site IRCTC has stopped new registrations due to railway budget. Doo they expect every thing has to come to standstill till the railway budget is clear and they are at leisure?
                        Every time I lodge a complaint to [protected]@irctc.co.in, i get a ticket number and thats all. No further progress.
                        I request you to restore the user id at the earliest.

                          When i submit all the process of the money payment from my debit card
                          they cut the money from my account but they did not confirm my tickets
                          The amount is 3214.00 rupees only that they cut from my account
                          So please sir its my request to you please look after it and refund my payment as soon as possible
                          One think i also want to tell u that customer care service of your website irctc is very bad I call to the customer care but the lady did not give me a good solution and she shout to me in phone and i don't thing this is a way to treat the consumer

                            I have registered on irctc. Whenever I go to hame page and give my credentials. I go to mobile verification and email verification page. My mobile is verified. When I ask OTP for email verification I am getting the email otp very late and by the time I provide the OTP the session gets expired and I get back to Home page automatically. What shall I do????

                              Dear Sir,
                              I had booked a ticket from yelhanka jn to Adoni, journey dated on 3/4/2016, Train SBC Nanded & No.16594. The fare for the journey is 220 + 22.9 (service charge). Due to some reason I had to postpone the journey and I had cancelled the ticket .Thereafter I received a message saying a sum of Rs 100 will be refunded to my account, which I haven't received yet. So, why is the refund amount less than half of the amount I had paid earlier for the ticket? Why do you deduct so much?

                                The train no. 22694 (On trsin: 22694, 21-feb-2016, 3a, nzm - sc) had been cancelled on 21st feb for jat
                                Reservation agitation at haryana. I had received an sms from the railway authorities 4 hours before the
                                Train was scheduled to depart, saying that the train has been cancelled. I even have a screenshot of
                                The same and now you people are saying that train was restored and running, it is impossible as there
                                Were no information regarding the restoration of train. Ok suppose, if train was restored then your
                                Authority should have sent the sms or any information which was not available anywhere.

                                I have repeatedly contacted the concerned authorities at irctc at the email id [protected]@irctc.Co.In and
                                [protected]@irctc.Co.In. They are saying that there is no record which shows this train has been
                                Cancelled. This is impossible as i have proof which shows the railways has cancelled this train. I have
                                Sent the screenshot of this message more than once to the above email ids. However there is no response
                                Whatsoever.

                                This entire matter reflects really bad on the competency of the ministry of railways and the government
                                Of india. I have raised the same on social media platforms.

                                I request you to please look into this matter and see that i receive the refund of my ticket for pnr

                                  When Iam trying to open a new User Id Iam getting a message that my Mobile No has already been linked previously. As such Iam unable to open a new User Id.                                       We would like to bring to your notice about mass cheating of selling tea for rs 10/- in the morning on 15th march by stall contractor karan chouhan trolly no 8 at nizamudin station. Display of prices on board indicates price of 1 cup of tea is rs. 7/- photo attached for your record.
                                      Due to morning hrs and short stay at station, rep at karan chouhan were selling tea for rs 10/-
                                      When complaint about same and display board, their excused by themselves that no change is available for every customer.
                                      How much money they must be making with or without contractors knowledge and mass cheating to passengers of every train arriving on platform.

                                      I was travelling by ltt haridwar a c express in coach a2 seat 1 & 3. On 14th march 2016 from 0755 hrs onwords
                                      Cleaning gang posted in train came by 0200 pm and cleaned up and requested me to fill up feedback form. I gave good report and asked whether they will visit some more times as we were travelling for more than 24 hrs, they assured me. After our dinner by 0900 pm, i expected them to come & clean the area. Nobody came and i wanted the garbage to be disposed, i took the same and i found garbage bin overflowing and some of the garbage was thrown in between coach joint. Whole area was filthy and even could not go toilet. It was sad state of affairs and the feedback form has included that these areas are kept clean. Although i signed the feedback in advance& i felt re grated. Next day on 15th march during stop over, i went around nizammuddin delhi station to find out about cleaning gang, i found them with a sound sleep in coach b 8. I had to remind them about the promised mad about cleaning. All the filth was removed after 30 minutes.
                                      My suggestion that feed back form should be presented at the end of journey so that correct facts could be noted in feedback form.
                                      I hope necessary action will be taken to prevent such instances

                                        PNR No. [protected] traveling from bhuj to Jaipur in 14322 Bareilly Express in S10 coach. In this caoch, there are no proper seats which have a comfort coushionable seating. They are so hard and not able to seat or sleep properly. So please do some needful action for passenger satisfaction and healthy interaction with Indian railway.
