Sir,
Lots of people faced similar kind of problem that I have faced during Tatkal Ticket reservation. As you know there are lots of traffic during tatkal ticket booking time. I want to tell you current scenario for booking tatkal ticket:
1. The time of booking, Irctc will show no. of available seats.
2. After pressing the ticket for book, Irctc will never tell you the status of ticket i.e whether status has changed to waiting or still available.
3. After payment it will show you got a wait listed ticket or confirmed.
4. Now I have option to cancel this ticket or wait for chart preparation and wait for automatic cancellation.
But now if i have to cancel this ticket they will charge the cancellation fee. As you remember I have booked the ticket when it was showing available. But because Irctc will never tell you final seat status before payment, I can get waitlisted ticket also. After that I have to cancel this ticket and loose my cancellation amount. (Point to remember I have booked because irctc showing seat was available but still in the end I loose my money... interesting )
This is the situation not with me only, but maximum people getting similar scenario.
Now how much money railway run by doing this:
For example in one day you take 100 trains with 100 wating list. people will loose 60*100*100 = rs 600000 per day. That means 180 lakhs per month. That means around 24 crores each year.
This is fully cheating by railways. If I have booked when ticket was available and in this situation I will get waiting list Tatkal ticket, they should return all the booking amount without cutting the cancellation price. I know the situation of railways during Tatkal reservation, they can not hold the ticket for long time like redbus or bookmyshow doing. So I want to give one suggestion that just you remove cancellation fee for tatkal ticket for atleast 1 hour of time. SO that people should not feel cheated.

Dear Sir / Madam, I cancelled my PNR:[protected] Order no. [protected], Booking reference no. : [protected] Refund Date :30-Oct-2015 Refund Amount Rs. 680/- Done many email conversations and gave them new account number with cancelled cheque of the ICICI same Bank and same Vasant Garden ICICI same Branch since Oct-2015 but not received any revert from IRCTC. Its 2 Months over and the railway is not refunding cancelled amount either by cheque or by transfer to ICICI bank with same names mentioned in account. I want to make a complaint against IRCTC and want you to resolve my this complain. ENCLOSED the email conversation held with IRCTC PERSONS MENTIONED- Krishna Das / Reena Badoni / Puneeth uras
