Sir,
I happened to travel in Venad Express from Aluva to Thiruvananthapuram central on[protected]. I reserved six tickets for my family. I got six seat numbers also. But, when the train reached Aluva, I was surprised to see that I could not even enter into the reservation compartment. That much heavy rush was there inside the compartment. Somehow, I managed to get inside the compartment. Even then I was able to get only 4 seats for me . There was heavy rush and people were not ready to give the six reserved seats for me. A TTE came and examined the tickets of only reserved passengers. He just told commonly that those who have not reservation tickets should go to the other compartment. It was really discouraging that most of the passengers inside that compartment were not having reservation tickets. So, what I am requesting is that, either you should take immediate action to prevent this type of inconveniences for the reserved passengers in future, or you please stop reservations in such trains.

Dear sir
I am in Jhelam Express 11077 now and people with unreserved tickets rushed into my compartment S10 I requested them to leave but they are showing arrogance and bad attitude. TTE haven't shown his face yet . Please help

    I was travelling from Raichur to Pune on 18/05/08 by Train No:1042(Chennai Mumabi Express).My tkt (no:[protected]) was in waiting list.After approaching the TTE(who was on duty from Guntkal Junction to WADI junction), he demanded 150 Rs for getting me a confirmed seat, which I paid to him without making any hesitation.But later when one more TTE from WADI junction woke me up and said that the seat deos not belong to me and the other TTE has not made any entries in the chart and he has misguided and cheated me by taking money..Later that seat was assigned to some one else who was in RAC.
    Can some one look into this and take relevant action on the TTE who was on duty from Guntkal Junction to WADI junction.
    I dont know his name otherwise I would have mentioned it and If I get him again anywhere I just dont know what I will do with him.

    Dear sir, Please arrange one parking lange for two wheeler vehicle in Hassan railway station immideatly, becouse lot of vehivles are standing with out any security.Railway dept is one of the big asset to the nation. In this big association lot of peaple travelling by train through out day & night.Mr.Lalu prasad yadav you please give permission to open a new vehicle parking fecility in hassan Junction as soon as posible.

    i am one of the thousands who travel by the chennai beach chinglepet suburban trains.

    day in and day out people including ladies with bag, baggage and infants sit at the entrance to the coach.
    this hinders the movement ot the passengers alighting and disembarking.
    RPF personnel used to come only betwen beach and tambaram. from the pre election time this has become very rare.beyond tambaram upto chinglepet it is a case of might is right.
    the driver/guard turn a deaf ear to the problem.
    there are no personnel to turn to when the train is at the platform because the train will leave in no time.
    my humble request to the honourable Mamataji to look into the matter.
    it is better the authorities are awake and aware of the dangers of the problem than to be alarmed by consequences.
    thanks in anticipation of some corrective action.

    i came from haridwar to jaipur on by 9266 on 26.07.2009 about 7.45 pm. at the exit gate the t c misbehave with me and my wife. in the namne of asking i d proof for e ticket. they started checking my luggage. on asking he told me his name as pokhar mal saini. he was not having his i d card not he was havinf any name plat at his coat. i shouted, then he run in tyo the railstation and forgat to take any ticket etc. pl see.

      I was travelling with confirmed tickets with names on the chart, by Mumbai Express on 18th May 2008 in 2nd class compartment.Though I had a confirmed ticket TC harrassed me and my family in every 1 hour and asked to take two births and pay for the third.!!!Can anyone imagine this, you have to pay again for a confirmed birth. TCs name is S. Venkateshwaru.When we refuse to pay he called Police . Railway police officer understood the case and helped us. But the stress and harassment was too much specially when kids got panicked seeing the whole thing.
      This is hipe of corruption I had ever seen in India.
      There is tremendous rush during travelling from virar to mumbai city also in first class, we public pay first class fair but there is no any convinent facility to first class always travelling by standing & in rush condition. Why Western railway not done then more trains for public as per annousment by Railway Board.
      And day by day tremedous public rush increased in railway local in virar local for that reason accidents are more & more during traveling in virar local. and for that Western railway is reponsible. Therefore i complaint & objection againts wertern railway to in covenient travely in Virar Local
      i m daily travel in train for amritsar to patti.mostly public is doing work in amritsar but train is daily late. this reason public is move in travel to bus because train daily late mininmum 5hours. public phasing very problems. pls do for need full.
      Sir, I was travling on 23 Oct 2009 with my two nephews and my elder brothers wife to Nasik in local compartment by Guahati Express starting from Lokmanya Tilak at 0745Hrs. at around 0748Hrs soon after train started from LTT few HIZDAS came in the local compartment and starting collecting money from pessangers by force. when they HIZDA) ask money from my family members we did not respond, on that one tall and black cloured, wearing red salwar suit, HIZDA gave a slap to my nephew, on this when i reacted that HIZDA started abusing very badly and gave threat to kill me, and also that HIZDA was trying to remove his/her clothes in front o[censored]s. I contacted emergency 100 at 0755Hrs. and ask for help, i got reply only OK and no police came, after few minutes those HIZDAS got down from train. I beleave those HIZDAS are from LTT areas and must be doing this crime almost in all train.
      I am looking for some leagal action from Mumbai Railway Police angainst .
      I want a fare list according to kilometers of first class in indian railway.
      Please help me if possible.

        On 05/05/2008, when traveling from kakinada to Secunderabad by Gautami Express (T.No. 2737) B-2/ 17 ( PNR[protected], noticed that bed rolls issued by IRCTC Contractor were un washed and kept in re used covers with out seal. The matter was complained to TTE and he verified that all the bed rolls are in the same condition, no rectification done by the duty Manager of the Contractor. Hence lodged a complaint vide Sr No. 146601 in the complaint book available with the TTE.
        Again while traveling from Visakhapatman to Secunderabad on 14/05/2008 by Godavary Express (T.No, 2727) B-3/ 44/ PNR[protected], noticed similar problem and on insisting also, the Manager on duty of Contractor of IRCTC in charge for bed rolls, for lodging a complaint to him in the Complaint Book provided by IRCTC, he just vanished with out reply. Then lodged a complaint in the book available with TTE, against Sr No. 080659. The TTE informed that there are regular complaints on this issue and he can do nothing in the matter, since the bed roll fellows are in in there control.
        This shows that the railway authorities are not caring for the said irregularity, hence bring to the form for suitable action in the matter.
        You are aware, sleeping with out a bed roll in the Air Conditioned compartment is difficult, at the same time, is very un safe to use un washed bed rolls. Kindly look in to the matter and see suitable action in the matter, else, keep it as optional to ask for bed rolls, passengers shall have there own.

          On 10.04.2008 at arround 09:15 am at Sealdah Railway Station counter no. 20 I went to puchase a return tickit fron Sealdah to Kankinara ( Ticket No. D[protected] in the long line, when I came in front of the counter along with a Rs. 100/- note because I haven't any coins thereby. Then railway employe in counter no. 20 thrown my Rs. 100/- note and said give small coins then I purchased a biscuit packet from railway hoker a return back to the said counter but said employe refused to give me ticket and when I along with other people in line asked for ticket and asked the reason why you will not issue me ticket then said 20 no. counter employe used very very slang languages me and also threatened me to kill. my written complaned no. GC13/203935. at last I went to Sealdah Court and hired 2 no of Lawyers and lodge the said written complaned because enquiry counter and PA to DRM refused to give me complaned book. I pray for justice.

          Dear Sir/Madam,
          I Would like to give attention through this mail that i have reservation from Gaya Junction to Howrah on 25th of Jan. in DOON EXPRESS and the ticket no is 17329195. Sir/Madam, actually i have to go Bally Station and Doon Express does not have stoppage there. so i put down myself on srirampore and took local train and reached to Bally station.And the ticket collector who are available said me that i am coming from HOWRAH and that is the reason why the are asking for Rs. 254. I requested him and said the actually things but they thread me that today is 26th january and they will make a special case against me and took Rs. 254. could you tell me please is it justified or is it a way to make paseenger harsh. plz do some action and if any thing required you are free to contact me.
          Hoping to have a prompt action from your End.

          Sir,
          I would like to give you attention through this mail to your local train services to main line section of Sealdah. On 8th May 2009 at 03:20 am at morning I was going to my home Naihati from sealdah through UP Krishna Nagar local ( Dept time from Sealdah : 03:20 am ). At 03:00 am when I have reached station I got the car was standing on platfrom number 1, normally I took a seat beside window at compartment number 3. At 03:13 am some people came to that compartment and telling us, we will have to leave that compartment because, that compartment is alloted for newspaper carring.But no where in your train writen " Reserved for News Paper" like ( RMS ). After few minutes they were started using slangs when we refuges to relise the seats, not only that they started pushing pessenger from that compartment by hampering through News paper roll. They are telling loudly "we are paing to all big shots of Sealdah Station for that, no one can't stop them.

          If it is going...now a days will come normal pessenger will leave their temperment and will started ...anything and you can't stop that.

          So, my suggestion is please take care of this matter seriously, they can't take ride of our National Property. And will not to make us furious to resolve that matter in other way...by fighting.If we want we can do wht ever we feel to do with them but we don't to take any ilegal steps for that matter, otherwise that will became a bis issue.

          Eastern Railway — NON FUNCTIONING OF A.C MACHINE IN A.C COACH, TRAIN NO. 2340 FROM DHANBAD TO HOWRAH

          ON 04/06/09 I WAS TRAVELING FROM ASANSOL TO HOWRAH BY TRAIN NO. 2340 ( DHANBAD - HOWRAH, COAL FIELD EXPRESS). MY TICKET PNR NO. [protected], A.C CHAIR COACH NO. C1 AND SEAT NO. 20. THE FUNCTIONING OF A.C MACHINE IN COACH NO; 1 WAS VERY POOR DUE TO MAL FUNCTIONING OF THE MACHINES. I AM A SENIOR CITIZEN AND FIND VERY DIFFICULT IN A SUFFOCATING ENVIRONMENT INSIDE THE COACH. I MADE COMPLAIN TO THE TICKET COLLECTOR AND MY COMPLAIN SERIAL NO.585760. SINCE A.C WAS NOT FUNCTIONING IN A.C COACH. THE CHARGES FOR A.C CHAIR TICKET i.e Rs.213/= SHOULD BE REFUNDED TO ME AFTER NECESSARY DEDUCTION FOR NON A.C COACH.

          Sub: Name of three trains in the same rack --- justification

          Please note that while travelling from Asansol to Dhanbad by Coalfield express on 20th June, 2009 I observed that on the name plate three train's name are written. Those are Santiniketan Express, Agnibina Express and Coalfield Express.
          At the first instance it was very confusing and it made me hesitate to get into the train though after asking other passengers I got into the train.
          The reason behind this new step is not clear because all the three trains are not superfast express, so they don't fall under same category and moreover the route and destination of all these trains are also not same.
          My suggestion will be to revert back to the old sysytem "one train, one name" and if not then please give it wide publicity with justification.

          Eastern Railway — delay in joining process

          Sir, i hve completed a course of act apprentice 4rm jamalpur workshop, but railway is giving our posting in liluah c&w workshop, all my batchmates have joined since 5 months but till now i have not got the job.so kindly take some action against it.my mob.           Eastern Railway — No water in Godavari Express 2727

          I traveled on 18th August by Godavari Express from Vishakapatnam to Hyderabad in B1 Coach berths 19 and 20 vide PNR [protected]. I am a senior citizen and there was no water in any of the W/Cs of the coach. This caused lot of inconvenience not only to me but to several passengers.
          The spelling of Visakhapatnam is different on the ticket with that of the boards displayed on the station.
          Can you investigate the reasons for not providing the comforts for which the charges are made.

But sorry to say that in 116 Bandel Howrah Local which reached Bandel Station at 7:14 am, there are some daily passengers are regularly booked the seats with news papers, bags, umbrellas etc. in that time others passenger if they are want to seat there, they are using rough language also hittin to others and rough attitude is creating others passengers problem day to day .
          So I request you to take all the necessary steps about this matter, Please Sir do needfull.

          Hi This is ridiculous as the most profitable Govt. Organization doesn't have enough Local Train Time Table books for its commuters.Personally i demand immediate supply of time-tables @ Sheoraphuly Station (a Junction in HOWRAH-BURDWAN mainline local route)

          Eastern Railway — delay running of train no.3024dn.

          Train no. 3024DN is daily running abnormal late , due to unautherised chain pulling and step-motherly treatment by KIUL jn.stationmaster.pl. arrange a special task force in the train and also instruct to the ASM, KIUL jn.that do'nt stop the train for a long time on the outer singnal.

          I, Mr. A MUKHERJEE RESIDING AT BANSBERIA, I AM A DAILY PASSENGER FROM BANSBERIA TO HOWRAH AND I USUALLY TRAVEL BY "K4 DOWN KATWA LOCAL" WHICH IS AT 7:30 AM (BANSBERIA). ON 14TH AUGUST 2010, FROM CHANDANNAGORE SOME SO CALLED DAILY PASSENGERS" (RATHER GOONDAS) BOARDED THE OVERCROWDED TRAIN AND STARTED SMOKING, IT WAS REALLY SUFFOCATING. SO WHEN I RESISTED THEM THEY WERE BOTHERLESS AND STARTED ABSUING ME . WHEN THE TRAIN REACHED HOWRAH I REPORTED THIS ORALLY TO THE CONCERNED AUTHORITY, BUT THEY DIDN'T REACTED AT ALL. EVERY DAY THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM IS FACED BY SOME OF THE PEOPLE. BUT IS THERE ANYBODY TO LISTEN THE VOICE OF "AAM ADMI" AND REACT EVENTUALLY. SOMEHOW I MANAGED TO TAKE A PHOTO AS A PROOF OF THIS SITUATION AND IF POSSIBLE I CAN SUBMIT THAT TO THE CONCERNED AUTHORITY.

          Eastern Railway — Not clearing the post box regularly

          Few station of eastern railway especially in Hooghly district of West Bengal not clearing the post box, present in their station regularly. For that reason peoples are facing lots of problem. In case urgency peoples fail to sent the letter in time. Some of the stations are Chinsurah, Hindmotor, Baidabati and many more are doing so. Please look into the matter.

          Subway Gate No.10 at Howrah Station, there are many hawkers installing there business near this gate. Many hawkers have food stall with Stove and another fire system. It is very near to Howrah Station Building. For this stall we are harrassment to entry & exit daily from & to the Station.Please Solve the matter immediately.

          Another Complaints about Pundooah Station. There have not Available Water afternoon, Because there are many huts near Platform no.1. They used this Railway Water daily. And 4 No Plat Form there are many unticketing man available on the evening, who are quarrel on the station everyday. There are a GRP Posting, but we passengers didn't know what do he do !. Please See the matter.

          I AM A DAILY PASSENGER OF 9:36 A.M. B.B.D BAG BARRACKPORE LOCAL FROM TITAGARH STATION AND GET DOWN ON DUM DUM WITHIN 10:01 TO 10:07 AM. THE TRAIN GENERALLY PASS BY THE LINE NO. 4. UPTO DUM DUM DANKUNI CROSSING POSITION THEN IT HAS TO CHANGE THE LINE TO 5. FOR REACHIN THE PLATFORM 5 AT DUM DUM. NOW DAYS WE ARE FACING A BURNING PROBLEM, THAT IS DOWN SEALDAH RAJDHANI REACH THROUGH THE DANKUNI LINE AT DUM DUM ON SAME TIME. BOTH OF OUR TRAIN HAS TO PASS SIDE BY SIDE SOME DAYS. IF IT PASS FIRST THEN NO PROBLEM OCCURS. BUT BY OUR BADLUCK IF WE HAVE TO WAIT TO GET OUR SIGNAL FOR FEW MIN. IT IS CREATING A TERRIFIC EXPERIENCE FOR US IF WE HAVE TO WAIT BESIDE THE GENERATOR BOGIE OF THE RAJDHANI. IT EXHAUST A HUGE HEAT. AND THE EXHUST MACHINE PUMP A HUGE AMOUNT OF BLACK CLOUDY SMOKE WHICH CAN ALMOST COVER A COMPARTMENT WITHING FEW SECONDS. AND WE HAVE TO DIGEST THAT MUCH AMOUNT OF SMOKE EVERY DAY PRIOR TO REACH THE DUM DUM STATION.

          WE TRAVEL WITH EVERY KIND OF PASSENGER, WHO ARE ALSO WITH ASTHMA, SOME TIME THEY FEEL THEY WILL HAVE A HEART BLOCK IN SUCH SMOKY AIR EXHUSTED BY THAT GENERATOR VAN OF BESIDE TRAIN(RAJDHANI)

          PLEASE TAKE AN IMMEDIATE ACTION. OTHER WISE PEOPLE OF BBD BAG PASSENGER ARE GETTING AGGRESIVE DAY BY DAY. THE CAN CREAT A MUCH HAZARD AT ANY DAY DUE TO INTOLLARNCE AFTER A LONG PERIOD OF TOLLARATING SUCH SMOKE.

          i am a passenger of azimganj katwa local.i travel frequently in ladies compartments.in that route people are completely unaware about ladies compartment.male passengers occupy ladies compartments and behave roughly with ladies.i have never found any GRP officials in those compartments.hence a necessary action should be taken immediately.

          SAME PROBLEM ARISING AGAIN, SEALDAH RAJDHANI (WHICH HAS TO PASS THROUGH THE MIDDLE LINE) ALWAYS GET A WAITING SIGNAL UNTIL AND UNLESS THE BBD BAG COMES TO THE NEXT LINE ON ITS LEFT AND BBD BAG ALSO GET WAITING SIGNAL FOR 5 - TO 10 MINUTES BESIDE THAT SCORCHING HEAT OF GENERATOR VAN OF THAT RAJDHANI EXPRESS.

          The schedule time of said local at DUM DUM Station is 08.06 A.M. Like other commuters I used to travel regularly from DumDum to Ballyhalt to avail connecting main line train such as HWH-Sheoraphully at Bally station at 8.26 a.m or HWH - Bandel local at 8.33 A.M. to attend my office at Rishra within 9A.M. Due to regular late running of said Sealdah-Dankuni local I have to suffer difficulties to attend my office daily. Even today the said local reached DumDum Station at about 8.30 A.M.resulting late attendance in my office.


          Therefore, I request your goodself to ensure the running of said local train in punctuality so that no harassment will be suffered by the commuters regularly.

          It is my experience that some of the passengers are travelling with huge luggage's, and making disturbances to the other passengers - railway authority should take a special care in the matter.
          Those, Who have carrying luggage's beyond permissible limit should have charged extra... and also need to kept luggage's separately ... without disturbing others.

              Dear Sir,
              I used to travel by important intercity trains like shatabdi express, coalfield superfast express, black diamond express & jan shatabdi express of eastern railway division. Myself an upper class passenger and after a hectic business schedule, i always prefer to travel comfortably & hassle free.
              As Im a regular traveller by the trains as above mentioned, i like to bring attention of senior railway officers to inspect & change the coaches of Shatabdi Express & Coalfield Express. The coaches of these two trains became too old and have defective chairs in AC Chair Car coaches. ER should introduce new LHB coaches for Shatabdi Express as i have found new LHB coaches have been introduced in Delhi - Amritsar Shatabdi. Im surprised to see that pantry car services withdrawn from two important intercity trains like, Coalfield Express & Black Diamond Express. There is a huge demand for fast food or snacks in these trains. At least a Fast Food Counter in AC Coaches should be introduced if not a pantry car. We have no objection, if we have to pay the charges of the food alongwith the ticket fare. Obiously this system can be introduced for the AC Class passengers travelling by Coalfield & Black Diamond. I also request to extend the route of Coalfield & Black Diamond to Bokaro or Gomoh and it is very much required for us. For Black Diamond, i think there are some unnecessary stoppages which have to be withdrawn...like Seoraphuli, Mankar etc. For Coalfield, the first stoppage should be Durgapur and then andal and so on. If I'm into the railway board then i could make this happen with these two trains extending up to gomoh or bokaro as well as i could increase more reservation quota & from 21 coaches to 25 coaches. Even 25 coaches for Coalfield & blackdiamond will not enough to the rush which i find in the weekends & beginning of the week. If speedy intercity trains like coalfield & black diamond can't cover up maximum distances then there is no need of running intercity express trains...you could easily introduce two MEMU trains who can easily cover up distances between howrah & dhanbad.
              Think judiciously & do some proper marketing of intercity trains so that you can attract potential passengers for these two trains. I also railway authorities to deploy AC Coach attendent & RPF in these two trains to stop hawkers & vendors to hawk inside the AC Coaches of Black Diamond & CoalField Express. We feel insecured as well as get very much disturbed for only those hawkers...i dont understand, how a hawker or a beggar can get inside the AC Coaches and they don't care or bother the Conductor or passengers. This is not only ridiculous but it shows how inefficient the railway administrators are!!!

If I am residing in Europe or America or even in other parts of Asia, I used to get positive reply against public grievances but in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan where there are no system to recognise common peoples difficulties by the Govt. The same thing, I will send to Media for record. We will cast vote for but you will not do anything for us or can't assure minimum comfortable & safe train journey ...those days are gone.

              To ALL MINISTERS & MPs...Develop India Properly otherwise we will throw you out of Indian Masnad.

              I have made a complaints againts one booking clerk and Dy.S.M Howrah on 22/09/2009 being Reg.no[protected]. Till date no action has been taken by the authority and no information given by them in the regard.
              This is to inform you that myself Mr. R. Majumdar was traveling from Patna Station By Danapur Howrah Exp. (T.No.12352) dated on 9.7.2011 vide PNR. no.[protected] AC - II, Coach No. A-I. From Patna station we observed that AC is not working we complained train TTE & AC fitter Mr. T.B. Tiwary who did not responded at all & finally we alongwith co-passenger lodged complained in register in details. Finally Train ticket examiner agreed on our problem & accepted the problem & narrated AC problems on individual ticket (TTE Name is Sanjay Kumar Singh & his batch no. is 2740).

              I hope railway authority will arrange to refund the diff. amt. of AC-II & Sleeper Class fare, as TTE mentioned on my ticket that "AC IS NOT WORKING, HENCE, THIS TICKET SHOULD BE TREATED AS NORMAL SLEEPER CLASS TICKET ONLY".

              Eastern Railway — Uncomfortable journey & route extension

              STILL NO ACTION HAS BEEN TAKEN. NO PLANS ARE THERE . BOTH ECR & ER DUMBO OFFICIALS ARE DOING SECURED GOVT. JOBS, SO NO HEADACHE FOR PASSENGERS TO THEM.. LET THE PASSENGERS GO TO HELL BUT THEY GET THEIR SALARIES AND INCENTIVES. THIS IS THE PICTURE...absolutely worthless working culture with lack of innovative ideas. Better pull out those trains from the route. BLOODY SHAME ! In this 21st Century, two superfast intercity trains are going up to dhanbad only, i.e. less than 270 km, which can be A MARATHON WALK COMPETITION. Black Diamond Express waste more than 4 hours, stranded at Dhanbad Shed. More than 4 hrs?????? But these officials failed to extend it's route up to Bokaro. Coalfield can easily extended up to Gomoh. Railway officials must see that within 10pm - 10.30 pm ...how stretch it can pull at a speed of 110 - 115 kmph, which generally Coalfield Express used to run ! Secondly, when it's too old ICF coaches will be shifted to LHB coaches !!!

              What assets you have, utilize it properly, otherwise Humsafar Tumsafar & Tejas will become in future same ! It's India, where quality maintenance is one of the poorest in the world with civic sense of the people is very low. I personally seen, the way toilets are been used in Shatabdis & Rajdhanis. I raised voice against those users. So, understand, what happens in these trains.

                I had booked the follwing tickets for Ahmedabad to Banglore on 13th Feb. The train no is 6501 for the travel commecing in 13th May.

                While booking for the tickets I had requested for physical tickets. Subsequently I lost the tickets and requested for the Duplicate tickets also. However, unfortunately due to an accident in the faily I am unable to undertake the journey. I approached the Western Railway authorities at Ahmedabad junction for the cancellation.

                I was however told that the duplicate tickets cannot be cancelled and hence no refund is possible.

                Could you please advice me as to what is the best conurse of action is the above circumstances.

                  Indian Railways issue tatkal reservation tickets in five days in advance and normal reservation (Now in holiday) 90 days in advance.

                  While confirmation of waiting list ticket, tatkal tickets are give higher priority than normal (RAC & waiting) tickets. That means if a person takes normal waiting / RAC ticket before 90 days, his ticket will not get confirm if any waiting list tatkal ticket which is purchase just 1 to 5 day before the journing is pending for confirmation.

                  Why tickets issue before 90 days of journey are give priority over tickets issued just 1 day before of journey? Why railways authorities are mixing the quota?

                  I request, please confirm the general tickets from general quota and Tatkal tickets from tatkal quota while confirmation of waiting / RAC tickets against the cancelation.

                  Indian Railways. — Regarding advance ticket reseravations and confirmations.

                  Respected Editor, This is regarding a grievance with the Railways. I had booked for tickets for my wife and son from Kurnool Town to Madurai for 27th of April on the 10th of March 2008. The Train No. is 6734 Manmad to Madurai Express which runs only on Thursdays that is a weekly train. At that time it was listed for WL as 5 and 6. I was in the hope that the tickets would get confirmed. Till yesterday the chart was not prepared. The wait list was the same. Yesterday I found that the wait list has increased to 127 for general sleeper class and for 3rd Ac it was 27 for traveling between Kurnool and Madurai.. And yesterday night it was told that the chart is prepared. But the wait list is the same. And if the passenger cancels at the last moment the Railways would charge 40% of the ticket fair against cancellation. Let us take for instance that atleast 50 passengers out of 127 passengers from Kurnool to Madurai would cancel their waitlsted tickets. LIkewise the train is from Manmad, whereas so many cancellations would fetch a lot of money for the railways. I wonder why the Railways would not add one more coach for the waitlisted passengers, that too for a weekly train. What would be wrong in it. Or is it a shortcut method which the Railways follows to loot the public in the name of reservation. With lots of grievances and curses on the Railways. R. Srinivas.
                  The so called railways in profit is a big farce because before the present top most Railways administration the public was not put to harrasment becuse the the person would get the ticket on booking of ticket at least 60 days in advance and even the waiting list person will get his chance to get the berth there was no question of RAC not getting the berth .Now with the introduction of Tatkal and ISSUE O[censored]NLIMITED WAITING LIST TICKET for any of the train the same quota of public in same train has quietly been curtailed and the praises are all over that railway is in profit IF GOVT COULD SEE THE PLIGHT OF THE PESENGER IN ANY OF THE CLASS OF THE TRAINS.I suggest if the Railways has to make money they better add extra Trains, Extra Coaches .Then improve the quality of acommodation provide better services people may not mind shelling out xtra Rupee.May good sense prevail and public be heard and given the minimum required services like reservation RAC and Waiting list be given priority as per their Wiating list number

                    Indian Railways — Wrong ticketing

                    I had booked train tickets urgently for journey on 30 Sep 2008 from Firozpur, Punjab to Jabalpur, MP as my mother in law had passed away on 30 Sep at 1230 hours at Jabalpur. I was to commence the journey on 30 Sep at 2145 hrs by Punjab Mail and was to reach Bina junction on 01 Oct 2008 at 1450 hrs and was given a linked ticket for onward journey from Bina junction to Jabalpur where it was mentioned that invalid without original ticket but the system faltered and I was given a ticket where the journey from Bina should have commenced on 01 Oct at 0020 hours and for obvious reasons I had to face a terrible scene as railway authorities refused to permit me on the train leaving on 02 Oct 2008 at 0020 hours as I was not holding a valid ticket though they admitted to system being at fault but were again not in a position to grant me refund.

                      Sub: Complaint against TTE

                      On 13.01. 2008 (today) my daughter SREECHITRA forced to travel without reservation although she was holding a confirmed reservation ticket. She booked her ticket (PNR No:[protected] from Ramgundam to Bangalore by train number: 2591) on ladies quota. But when entered in the train the berth/seat (S5 coach, berth: 5) allotted to her found occupied by some male passenger. He told the berth is his and it was allotted to him by TTE. He refused to show his ticket as I thought I can have more evidence to the complaint. We thought problem will be solved when TTE comes. But to our bad luck TTE didn’t come to check her ticket and she traveled up to Secunderabd without berth/seat. Later we came to know that his ticket was from Bhopal to Hyderabad.

                      This was a very terrific situation my daughter faced and I want to share to all to know whether railway is taking any interest to solve these types of problems. Whatever problem my daughter faced may happen to others. I request at least ladies quota ticket should be given preference so that nobody else should face such problems. So I am requesting the railway authority to take necessary action.

                      We don’t know whether the male passenger who occupied my daughter’s seat is holding a valuable ticket. But why the TTE didn’t come to check the ticket as he knew one lady passenger will get into the train from Ramgundam station?
                      How a male passenger can occupy a seat booked on ladies quota?
                      Is there any rule is in railway to protect ladies traveling alone by taking ticket on ladies quota?
                      In what condition a TTE can offer unallotted ladies quota ticket to a male passenger?

                      Later my complaint got accepted and I got a reply from railway saying that TTE was not able to check the ticket due to heavy rush and hence the case is closed.

                      Now what is the guarantee that a passenger who is having confirmed reservation can get his berth? Every time railway can give many explanation or reasons.

                      Indian Railways — Reg the delay in Ticket checking by TTE in the trains

                      Sir/Madam,
                      I travelled from Ernakulam To Trichy by Trichy Exp(Train no.6866, Coach No.S4, ladies quota) on Mar 21'2008.. The TTE who is incharge of checking the train ticket came to our compartment and checked the ticket at night 12.40AM. But, my time of boarding is 10.20PM. And he said to us that, we hav to wait till he comes and then only we should sleep. How much time should we wait for him? Kindly, do some steps to avoid this kind of situations..

                      My family travel from Lucknow to Jabalpur on 04.06.09 with confirmed ticket PNR No.[protected] but there were no berth no. 65 and 67 in the coach B1. And TTE who attended coach from Kanpur given only one berth and refused to give seconed berth by saying I will not give berth for your child and misbehave with my family members. Same time he allotted berth to other passanger. I request you to kindly take action against TTE and give the companssion to us for not getting berth after giveng full payment to railway and for inconvinance.

                      I have travelled in Train No.2676, Kovai Express with my family on 9.7.2009 from Salem to Chennai..in Coach No.D/9, seat no.49, 54 and 55 were allotted to me (Ticket PNR No. [protected]). While I entered in the train I found someone was occupying this seat. I have to explain them in detail and made them to vacate the seat and I have to then occupy it. Besides this, there was more passengers standing in the carriage with out proper reservation. To my surprise, I found no TTE has came for the ticket checking upto Chennai. Our ticket is kept without verification by TTE. This is very state of affairs to witness such happening in the Railway Department. It needs to be investigated and action taken for those who failed in this aspect.
                      May I request you to kindly communicate the steps taken in this regard. A line in reply to me would be welcomed.

                      Sir, while you travel from Nagpur To Raipur in Shivnath Express, all the time you find the TTE'S, TC'S Indulging in corruption .They take money from passengers who has general ticket and allott them the unfilled births in Sleeper class.They dont make receipt, this way making loss to railways and doing corruption.Also, the route between Durg to Raipur to Bilaspur is the worst affected by corruption by these TC'S.Passengers buy general tickets and pay money to TTE'S, TC'S And travel in Sleeper Class and also 3 Tier AC.Pls see that these corruption is stopped in trains and save Railways From losses.

After kota jn tte came into my coach at near about 12.00 am mid night. He was drunken and smell coming out from his mouth start to misbehaving with lady passenger due to some spelling mistake in her ticket .                         I was travelling along with my Brother and his family, had booked tickets form Allahabad to Kanpur in ALD NDLS SPL trian no.0259 in 3AC DATED 3-5-2008.PNR No. [protected].The Departure time of the trian was 11:45, but the train came at 12:20 and there was no 3AC Coach there in the train.Instead, there was only one 2AC Coach.The ticket checker asked all the passengers of 3AC to board in 2AC.But the coach was insufficient to accomodate all the passengers so he asked the remaining to accomodate in Sleeper class.Firstly, we were given 2 Births in 2AC were asked to adjust against our 3 Reservations birth.Then early morning the Ticket checker came and gave us the 3 Birth.All the Paseengers including us, who were travelling were asked to pay the difference of fare against 2AC.This is unfare as we had booked out tickects in 3AC, not 2AC.This was not our fault there was no 3 AC Bogey in the train that day.We were charged Rs .783 Extra against the receipt no.274626 by the Ticket Checker.We had already paid Rs.2205 for 3AC Booking.Why should we pay the extra money for the fault of railway .The conditon of 2AC Coach was Bad.There were Cockroaches all over.The Quilt and bedsheet was dirty.This was Physical & Mental harrasment.Something needs to be dont on this.We want compensation.

                          I had started from jodhpur to delhi on 04/05/2008 in train number 2462.Train arrival time to delhi was 06:20 AM, while the same reached delhi at around 10:45 am on 05/05/2008.PNR No.[protected].Ticket no.34469220.



                          Now i had another ticket of train no.2011 for the date 05/05/2008.whose depature time from new delhi was at 07:40AM.PNR No.[protected] Ticket no.36079330.The same was missed by me due to late arrival of train no.2462.



                          The problem is that when i went for cancellation, 555/- were deducted out of 1100/-.and 545/- was refunded.Cancel ticket no.is 36053315.



                          My question is why i was not refunded fully according to the rule of REFUND DUE TO LATE RUNNING OF TRAINs?



                          Please guide and provide instructions for the same.

                          Due to late running of chandigarh new delhi train, i & my famiky missed pune bound goa express.

                          I depoisted the orignal tickets as sugessted by station master new delhi, and got the TDR ( ticket deposit receipt ) no. 871998 dt 26/11/08

                          I am wasting my time and peace of mind for the last more than a year in corresponding first with chief commercial manager ( refund ) mumbai and yhan with new delhi, but after every ,few months i am told to surrender the orignal tickets, without refering to my regd. post, ack due coressespondence.

                          In each of my regd. letter i have been pleading that i have no tickets with me to send you as the same have already surrendered at new delhi railway station, and i have been given TDR , whose copy has been sent.

                          But stereo type letters are sent which not only waste my time but take away my peace of mind.These letters neither give any tel./fax. no. nor any email address to remove any doubt or answser any querry.

                            Dear Sir,

                            I booked two tickets for my wife and my daughter under Tatkal scheme for 2 AC sleeper from Ahmedabad to Howrah for April 25, 2008. I paid roughly a sum of Rs. 4550/- for two tickets in anticipation of a comfortable journey.

                            To my dismayy, I found that more than 75% of the 40 hours of journey the AC did not work due to technical reasons and the situation was immensely worse that there are no words to describe with AC not working, glass covered bogies, suffocation, and so on.

                            My wife and daughter had to pass a very horrible time during the journey.

                            Please note that I have spent very hard earned money for this tickets.

                            I claim the refund of the amount charged for 2 AC. Railway cannot charge for something which they have not provided and they are entitled to refund the charges realized under the pretext of AC coach in turn rewarding with immense hardles.

                              My Self Shrinivas Mahendrakar.i want to inform about one problem, while my jounery from Gulbarga to Solapur with Train Hussan Sagar Exp

                              On Gulbarga Station for getting a normal 3 class ticket for Hussan Sager Exp(Train no 2702) on 03/05/2008 I had Straggled for 45 Min at station ticket counter, with more 50 people five ticket giving counter, ( ladies, Man & senior citizen all in the all 5 Q)

                              For this I want for asking complement book at your Dy.Station Manager, after 30 min getting every officer I the got that Book. and written it, I have copy of it (.it seems getting you suggestion /Complaint book also we need your Station Master permission)

                              This not stopped here it self.. One person who say him “Special Scrod ( I am sure about he not TT, )” he was watching this thing, And while my Journey he came to me( Fully Drunken with alcohol) at 3 Class abused me and fined me for Rs 325, , I don’t know why he done so (he was Drunken fully that time I have not arrgived with him more) the Receipt No:J406431And my TICKET number is 55332433

                              Did this Drunken Special Scrod belong to India Railway?

                              Can please some one Clarify this why he as taken this money?

                                I was forced to alight the train along with my co passenger in Arsikere junc which is half way from Davanagere and half way to Bangalore, and this was the last train towards Bangalore on that particular day, since i had not carried my original Driving License but instead carried my Duplicate DL which is widely accepted in Bangalore and RTO is only approved the use of Duplicate DL(color scanned laminated copy of Original DL), and i have travelled before also using the same Duplicate DL to various places like Kerala, Hyderabad, Tamilnadu, But this is the first time TTE asked me to get off the train in half way, with the above details provided clearly since I don’t remember the name of the TTE of that particular train on that particular day, i request you to investigate the same and take suitable action against that TTE.

                                I Prasant Tripathi is working as Under Secretary in the cabinet secretariate, GoI. I had booked a ticket for my Parents for the date of 03.06.08 in Farakka Exp from Varanasi to Firozabad. PNR No. is [protected]. AC III, coach B! 19, 20.

                                However there was a mismatch between the id number but the name and the photograpgs of the passengers. Further the accompnyng passanger too has her I card in case required.

                                However the TT ( mR. BB Singh) running in the train refused to allow them to journey on the ticket. Not only this he also misbehaved with the passemgers. When he was asked to mention on the ticket that he can not allow the journey on the same ticket he even refused to do that.

                                if the ticket was not valid, he should have mentioned it. Moreover, sir, these procedures are made to ensure that no wrong person can travel on others ticket, but knowing fully well the genuineness of passengers, such behavour not only agonizes us, it also gives bad repute to the organization.

                                I had lost my laptop, credit card, chequebooks, several other documents, Passport & Driving License while traveling in morning near by 4.00A.M. on 09.06.08.(case of Theft)
                                I had requested to make a complain to train RPF & Rajpura GRP Police station, but nobody heard me & was suggesting me to go here & there.

                                Indian Railway — forced to alight from the train by TTE

                                my father had boarded train at mansi jn (mne) to go delhi(dli) on 25.07.08 by train no.5707 katihar amritsar express . his ticket PNR NO. is [protected]. type of ticket was electronic reservation slip type which he was not carrying with him, but as per railway rules 50rupees fine should be levied if he is not carrying the electronic reservation slip and he can travel if he is having the required ID PROOF which was with him even, though after that TTE forced him to alight the train at chapra and was demanding for extra charge of rupees 921. so please look into the matter seriously since i cant remember the name of TTE
                                I am Daily passenger in Saharanpur, on dt 02/01/09 when i have reached at station by Sadbhawna Exp from Yamunanagar, a TTE has come surname is Mr. Tyagi TTE No. is 314 Saharanpur told me to show my ticket, i have saw him my MST & Super fast charges Ticker amounting 8.00 rs.

                                He was not agree & doing misbehavior with me, he showing that he is goverment don, he can do everything in Saharanpur, he has catch me from my shirt & came in GRP Thana & heating me, no one was ask to him why are you doing misbehavior in GRP custody, everyone was saying me that he is much poerful TTE at saharanpur station, I have paid rs.270.00 to him, as he was saying me that I have broken rule of ticket.( MST & Ticket )

                                Matter is not for money, matter is that a goverment employee was doing misbehavior on duty time & was threating that, GRP persons are his.

                                Kndly do some about it so that every passenger can releaf from him.
                                I have faced this problem on 6/5/2009 on chennai/tvm mail. My e-ticket which was wait listed was cancelled on chart preparatio. I then procured a general ticket and approached the TTE who abused me for boarding the AC 2 tier compartment and asked railway police to charge me.

                                  I happened to travel from Madgaon to Thrissur by 6335 nagarcoil express, on 26/4/2008 which took about 14 hours. No TTE visited our coach S3 till I reached Thrissur to chck tickets or allot seats.

                                  At Mangalore, some Trivnadrum bound gang of bachelors entered the mostly family occupied compartment and occupied the seats and birth reserved for us. One can imagine, the way these people agonise the family men by speaking with doublemeaning words and staring at the ladies. It was really a horrific situation. Nobody dared to encounter them becasuse they were about 12 in numbers.

                                  Had i have to travel one more night in that train, like my co passenger, who was terrified because he has to travel upto Nagarcoil, I would have got down at the next station.Railway is charging for sleeper at day time. The autorities have the responsibility to see that the family is protected in all ways, throughout the journey. Strict action should be taken for neglect of duty of the concerned, and the rogues.

                                    We travelled on first Ac on the Tamil Nadu Express on the 30th of March 2008, from Chennai to Delhi. We thought we were safe on the first Ac, when we locked the door from the inside. My family had the coupe to ourselves; my husband, myself & our 3 year old son. Between 2 am and 6 am someone came into our coupe and took all our money. I was horrified to find that it was so easy to open the door from the outside. And our complaints were taken so lightly by all - the TT, the steward in the boogie, and the Police Constable.

                                    What sort of safety measure is that... to provide a door lock which can be opened from the outside with such ease?

                                      I was to travel onboard to Hubli by the Chennai-Hubli Express from Krishnarajapuram Railway Station at 7.20pm on 6/4/2008. I was accompanied by my spouse and my 6months old kid. By my watch, as the scheduled time of arrival of the train approached near, there was a sudden blackout at the platform and everything came to a standstill. Then one train arrived on the platform and there was total chaos on the platform. So trying to get in whereas others trying to identify the train. It was a total stampede situation. The stoppage of the train at this station was just 2 mins. I was unable to read the train details, finally with the assistance of the mobile torch I came to know that it was the same train, i was supposed to travel. In the whole episode, I misplaced one of my baggage.
                                      On lodging a complaint with the TC and subsequently with the station master (on a later date), i was surprised to know that it was a regular phenomen. They have no generators nor any other backup facilities available at the staion. They just mentioned this and kept mum.
                                      I wish that the railways understood this basic essential of a railway station and provide this basic facility to its passengers.

                                      Indian Railways — No Basic facility on platforms

                                      Hello Sir,
                                      I had travelled to Pune from Ahmedabad on 10th of March through Ahinsa Expess. During the journey the train stopped at some station. Some of the stations did not have the basic facility like dustbin and Clean toilets. To name the particular station it was Vasai Road station where there was not a single dustbin on the station and the toilets were not clean.

                                      I returned from pune to ahmedabad on 12-13 th of March. On 13th of March we were on mumbai Central station. Where on platform no 3 again there was not a single dustbin. I am not satisfied with the facility and services provided by Indian Railways.

                                      I request you to take the note of this problem of basic facilities and improve it.

                                        Hi,
                                        I am a regular traveler in railways. I commute from Bangalore city Junction to Krishnarajpuram daily. The train always takes minimum of 20-30 minutes more than expected arrival at Bangalore city junction. I feel the Railway officials have been inefficient and incompetent in handling the railways. Even if there is no crossing the trains stop for more time on platforms. The guard does not wave his green flag. All in all over 2000 commuters lose 20-30 minutes. I have even reached destination 45 minutes late than expected arrival. I dont see any improvement happening. If train always takes so much time then kindly change the time table.

                                        Train — Indian Railway

                                        Dear Sir,

                                        Last week in the month of April I boarded the train Janeshwari(2101) from Kalyan(Munbai) for Howrah at 9:20pm in ordinary 3 tier sleeper. After an hour passed I got shocked when I saw the travellers were eating their dinner and some were sleeping with troublesome and uneasyness in side-upper-berths, because the railway authority has added middle berth for the travellers to reduce the rush. I want to know whether senior railway executives and officers have travelled with their family members in such coaches.
                                        One side railway provides concession to the Senior Citizens and handicaps and fare free for blind persons. And another way, it ignores the comfortness of these travelers.
                                        How they can travel in these uncomfortable and unbearable triple berths.
                                        I request solitudely to the railway authority to replace this middle berth and provide another facility for the travelers.

                                        IT IS ALSO SHOWING THAT TRAIN IS DELAYED BY 04 HOURS & WILL REACH KOTA WITH SUCH DELAY.( AS PER UPDATE AT 20:10 ON[protected]

                                        THE TIME TAKEN BETWEEN SAWAI MADHOPUR & KOTA BY A TRAIN IS ABOUT 1 HOUR.

                                        NOW SHOULD WE RELY ON THE INFORMATION PROVIDED ON COMPUTER ? WHICH INFORMATION IS CORRECT ?

                                        Railways — railways train

                                        BEST has started new AC buses for their passengers. It is very good soluation for traffic control of Mumbai traffic.However Railway also can take futher steps to solve Mumbai traffic problems by introducing New trains like AC TRAINs, more Ladies Special trains.
                                        Rich people who take their car for offices they can travel by this Buses and Trains and we can avoid trafiic jam problem of Mumbai at least some extent. There should be 2/3 AC Trains at the time office hours to avoid traffic jam.

                                        In Agartala - Dharmanagar local and Silchar - Agartala Passenger SMOKING & CONSUMPTION OF ALCHOHOL are beecame a frequent incident. We the emploee everyday avail these trains for our convinent. Please give a strong instruction to RPF to cheek the all coaches and if they do it sinccrely all these unsocial activities very easily.

                                        Dear sir/madam,

                                        I am Sunil Kumar(SRS Software Systems). I am Software professional. While travelling for one meeting from Pune to Darbhanga, the train was too late that i missed my business.

                                        This time again i am traveling from Pune to Patna due to my grand father is serious and the train has started showing late timings from no onwards. It is very essential for me to reach to Patna on time otherwise i will miss my train from Patna to Darbhanga, which is at 7:15AM.

                                        Thia is a kind request that please follow the timings, because there are so many loss that people face and in turn the Country face.
                                        I too faced the same problem. Yesterday I travelled from salem to bangalore thru Kongu Express. it was right time till byappanahalli rly station. It reached at 9.55pm but it was not taken till 10.20 pm from there. After that it was stopped near east station 10 minutes and at cantonment stn 15 min. finally it reached ciy at 11.20pm on 4th platform . In the mean time three trains gone by crossing us ( Kurla, Satapthi and one more train). The beauty is 4th platform was empty since 9pm there was no train stopped in that platform.
                                        When I asked the TTE, he replied that the arrival time 11.10 pm then I asked why you have come early . And also either reschedule the depart time at source station ie at Coimbatore so that passenger will get benefit or get in to that instead of wasting our time on train at no fault on passenger but no response from him. When I approached guard for complaint book but he was not having the same. and replied to me to approach Station Master. How much time we wasted and it was inconvenient to the passenger those who are travelling further and in the city, as they do not get either bus or auto after 11pm. Will the authorities look into it.???
