Kotak is the worst bank in the world. Their customer service, managers and everyone has no clue what is going on. They put charges of Rs 21, 609 in my bank account.
I still have money in my account and I cannot transfer it because they have frozen my account. Neither did they inform or mention they are freezing the account.
They have also added a charge of Rs 5479 saying Kotak credit card recovery, and I do not own a kotak credit card. When I called the bank, they said Rs 21, 609 is non-maintenance of balance. According to RBI, when an account goes to ZERO, they are not allowed to charge accounts.
They charged all this when my account was ZERO. Then a fixed deposit of Rs 46, 000 got credited into my account. And within 6 months, they screwed me over by debiting Rs 21, 609 from my savings account.
Even after emailing the bank, speaking with the bank manager, calling customer care, nobody seems to know what is happening.
Even worse, they had the indecency to freeze my account and not inform me. I've been running in circles, one department to another and each department tells me some story that doesn't make sense. I am not sure how to deal with such an unorganized bank that doesn't care about its customers, or have the necessary processes to figure out and fix things.
I will NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN.
Worst still, I need to get my money back from them. I can't think of any bank that will screw its customers with a non-maintenance charge of Rs 21, 609. I have to get my money back.
Kotak Mahindra Bank customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
