This is my story. Makemytrip completely ruined my well planned trip to Goa on last long weekend. Makemytrip should change the tag line to Memories Unlimited to Pathetic Trip.
I had booked 5 tickets from Pune to Goa, dated 28-Sep-2012, with Ticket number[protected] on Makemytrip’s bus booking portal. The travel operator was Rainbow travels, swargate, Pune.
On the date on travel(i.e 28-Sep-2012), I got a call from makemytrip customer care that my bus has been cancelled, and they are processing my refund(below mail trail with refund mail detail).
The reason given to me was “the bus has been cancelled with mechanical / technical failure†and i was asked to make my own arrangement. It was really pathetic when makemytrip didn't take the responsibility and asked me to make the arrangement on the long weekend when not a single ticket was available in any travel.
I told them, that how can they cancel the ticket on the travel date, and also, I requested for the alternate arrangement, but the customer care executive of makemytrip simply denied any service, and dropped my call.
Later I called to the Bus Operator to find out the bus status, and visited his office also, he told me clearly that “the bus is scheduled on time, and my tickets are shown as confirmedâ€. I tried to clear them the makemytrip’s version of the cancellation, but they specifically told that bus is on time, and they cannot book my ticket again, as my ticket are showing “Confirmed†due to makemytrip’s booking.
I reached the travel operators office to board my bus before reporting time, and got to know that makemytrip has cancelled my tickets, and booked 3 tickets out of my 5 tickets to another person.
This is the worst service customer can expect.
How can makemytrip cancel my ticket, without concrete reason?
Why the alternate travel arrangement was not made?
Why my ticket’s get cancelled, and booked by makemytrip only to another person?
Why the wrong reason of cancellation given?
Because of this pathetic service, I had to travel to Goa in a non-AC sitting bus, in worst travel scenario possible, as I had made the advance hotel, and return bookings.

I did a hotel booking (MakeMyTrip Booking ID: NH[protected]. I was eligible for a deal which entitles a cashback for a subsequent booking. I made a rail booking (MakeMyTrip Booking ID: NR[protected] and provided my hotel booking ID as a deal code in my rail booking.
Till date I have not received any cashback. I have emailed the customer care (Reference :[protected] and thought the auto response indicated that I would get a response in 3 working days, I have not heard from MMT so far.
I called the customer care and they told me that it is not valid for a Rail booking. But the website says that the cashback can be availed even while a rail booking is made
From the website( http://www.makemytrip.com/promotion/includes/Hotelstay-T&Cs_04042012.html ) ":-
"What is the offer?
Book any hotel in India with MakeMyTrip and get cash back on your subsequent booking within three months of this (hotel) booking as per the chart given below. The cash back is valid on booking any of the following: domestic flights, international flights, bus, domestic holidays, international holidays, hotels and rail."
I expect someone from MMT to clarify
1) Am I not eligible for cashback that you promised as per your website ? If so why?
2) why does your customer care say that it is not valid on a rail booking, when your website says so?
Please clarify.
