EMAIL TO CEO (DEEP KALRA) , This is to bring to your notice the kind of service your bus operators providing to passnegers who are booking tickets through your site. Below are 2 reservations I made last week and challenges faced.
1. Delhi - Katra ( ID - NU[protected], 4 seats) on 8th June
- on 8th June i got a call from operator at around 4pm that Volvo is faulty today and will not go so I need to downgrade booking and take seats in place of Sleepers.
- some how i got cofnirmation that I can get seats in normal A/C sleeper bus with some refund. your people told me to either accept it or get the full refund. Since I was not having much time with me, i decided to compromise.
- at pickup point, i noticed that Volvo is ready to go but I was told that that one is for some other people and people who have booked through internet will go in different bus (ordinalry). Travel people told me that they have to take care of current booking and hence people have to understand it.
- departure time was 7pm and we were asked to wait endlessly till about 9pm (on Road with no intimation at all about bus and departure time) when one bus from some other operator arrived and we were allocated back seats in that bus and not as per Seats booked through site.
- Finally bus left Delhi and reached Katra at around 12:30pm against arrival time of 9:00am (my entire program got impacted due to arrival time!)
2. Katra - Delhi ( ID - NU[protected], 4 seats) on 10th June
- on 10th June, we reported on time and were asked to take bus in parking lot.
- bus conductor asked about type of booking and forced us to take 4 seats in the last (i was not allocated the seats as per online booking)
- Seats were in pathetic condition with no curtains!!!
- I checked with bus people and they said that internet booking are done from Delhi and we can't do any thing at all.
- I called your people and was told that nothing can happen and i need to travel only in this bus and same seats. Though MakeMytrip people told me to get back but never heard from them!!!
- entire night my family and I was not able to sleep at all!!!!
Mr Deep,
- if you really want to succeed in online business (that too buses) , either run your own buses or get out of this business (otherwise with the time, you will be!!)
- I had horrible time (on top of body condition which one gets into after Mata Darshan!!), and thought to write my experience to you.
Not sure, how can you compensate for it but most importantly think about it and put yourself in my shoes. This will help you to think about business model you are into (Bus booking).
One feedback aobut your site while booking, if total mount is elligible for Cashback, system should automatically provide the benefit to passengers rather that one has to opt for Deal type. Anyway, system will not provide caskback till the time, your booking amount crosses certain limit.
If your are sensitive about your business, I am sure you will definitely consider to compensate me accordingly.

I was approached my ShiftThoughts to buy a package which would give me following benefits.
a) Vouchers that would give me Rs.500 discount per domestic ticket as long as I was part of the travel itinerary.
b) Voucher that would give me.Rs.1000 discount per international ticket. These said vouchers were non-transferable.
c) Discount card which would fetch me discount at various domestic and international hotels.
d) One free Reebok watch
First Complaint : My first complaint is that Shifthoughts took longer time to send the package. After sending threatening emails to lodge a police complaint makemytrip sent me the package, but the watch was local make by Optima(I am sure it was cheaper version).
please note this offer was published on makemytrip website in the following link: http://www.makemytrip.com/promotion/great-indian-festive-offer.php under the title "The Great Indian Festival offer".
So I trusted this was a genuine offer by Makemytrip and I paid for it vide my credit card.
Second complaint:I want to redeem the voucher for my family travelling to Goa along with me. As stated on the voucher I cannot book the ticket onlineand use the voucher to get the discount. It was clearly stated to call up a telephone number[protected] and avail the benefits of the voucher.
Now to my surprise-No one on the number specified including the call centre of Make my trip knew anything about the voucher.
I got on a call with Jasminder Singh and Pratik Chaudhary. Who foolishly asked me to call the person who sold the vouchers to me. One of the girls at the call centre was very clear she is into sales and not handle client complaints. So I asked her to transfer the line to grievances unit, she said she did not know if such kind o[censored]nit existed.
Now I have a set of vouchers which I want to use for my Family's trip to Goa and I cannot use because there is no means to use the voucher.
I am hopping to get some one from Make my trip understand the operational issues and address my requirement at the earliest, Before i lodge a complaint in consumer court and pull them for various Mis presentation that are being dolled out by Makemytrip.com
While logging this complaint on the website here, i see other people have also been cheated by makemytrip.
Third complaint: This is not a complaint but just to highlight the misrepresentation that Makemytrip does and takes people for a ride.
I see an advertisement on thier site which states "Buy one Get One Free". In reality Make my trip only provides Rs.1000/- off on the second ticket. Is someone looking into such false promises on the advertisement because this is a clear case of misrepresentation by a company registered in India.
