[Resolved] MakeMyTrip.com — Makemytrip took money but didn't book the flight | |||
Made my booking this morning to go home for Holi where my wife and kids are waiting for me to come. Booking ID N[censored]9902. The booking was taken, Rs. 13948/-money deducted from my account. Immediately, I get a response that the booking has failed. How can Makemytrip do the booking without locking it for the few seconds it takes to process the payment ? A manager was supposed to call within 1 hour as assured by CSR. It has been mire than 6 hrs and i am spendibg holi alone in a city where i know no one because makemytrip ruined my holi booking.

We are sorry to read about the issue. Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused.
As per your discussion with our call center on 16-Mar-14, full refund on your booking has been initiated on 17-Mar-14 and same should be credited to your account as per your bank processing cycle. Your refund reference number for the transaction is[protected].
Please note that reservations are confirmed on real time basis and meanwhile you made the payment, seats got sold out. Please note that these fares and flights are published on every travel portal including Airlines and offline agents. If there is only 1 seat left in a particular class of service and multiple users are trying to book that same flight, in that case the person whose payment gets through first gets the confirmed ticket. Our systems are linked to Airline systems directly, so we cannot make any exceptions from our end. We understand your concern and we know how important it is for a person to be with his/her family on an occasion like Holi, but you will have to understand that this was a last minute booking and moreover fares are not guaranteed until tickets are issued. In these cases we offer full refund to our esteemed customers and we as a brand initiate that refund within 24-48 hrs but then it gets credited to passengers account as per his bank processing cycle. We do not have any control on the bank procedures but what we make sure is that we initiate refunds in time from our end.
