I am venkatesh varadhan, residing in chennai, india. On 30th oct, at 7.46pm myself and my colleague had booked two separate share ride using ola application to travel from adyar (Our office) to guindy (Railway station). We both were assigned same cab, but the driver asked us to pay rs. 300/- per person (Total 600rs) as against the originally quoted price in ola app. I do not remember the exact quoted price, it was approximately one third (About 100rs). Since we did not accept to pay 2x premium per person, the driver denied to board us. However, ola has charged us the cancellation fee, despite raising complaint with ola, through their customer support option in their application. I have attached the screenshots of the booking and the cancellation fee levied.
It is not about the one time payment of rs.25/-, i have been wrongly charged for the cancellation, several times in the past, even though i have not attempted to cancel a trip.
Actually, ola does not have a a process to validate whether driver cancels / passenger cancels. We find it as a risk to book a next cab just because we wonder if we will be charged cancellation fee multiple times. As an example, i have also attached a screenshot of an auto booking made on sep 18, 2017, and it is yet to arrive for pickup :). Neither ola driver or ola or myself has cancelled it, and i am still waiting for the auto to pick me up :) haha.
