I have had 2 back to back incidents ion the same day. I would like to start off with-
1. I had booked a taxi this morning[protected] for pick up at Chennai Airport at 1:46 pm. I received a confirmation message from Ola at 10:54 am with the booking number "CRN66541185" for the same (confirming pick up at 1:46pm).
[I still have the message in my phone and submit as proof if required.] Later i received a message with the drivers details.
My flight landed at 1:00 pm and i made my way outside the airport and was waiting before the scheduled time of pickup - 1:46pm. I was waiting patiently and called the driver, he said he is stuck in traffic and will reach soon. I receive a message from Ola at 2:01 pm- "your cab has arrived. While we regret the delay, lets make up by giving you an awesome ride." Doesn't this message clearly mean that the Ola cab is late? Nevertheless the taxi arrived at 2:05 pm and i got on to it. I had called the customer care meanwhile and spoke to Ms. Jennifer regarding the delay and she apologized for the same. So i chose to forget it. But on arriving my destination the driver hands out the bill (for CRN[protected] Rs. 290) including Rs. 19.433 WAITING CHARGES FOR 9.716 MINS. This was ridiculous, i had to pay waiting charges for the taxi being late???
On asking the driver, he doesn't reply properly and i could not waste my time arguing with him for 20 minutes and face such humiliation in front of my neighbours and surrounding locality. Later i called the customer care again, and spoke to Mr. Saleem wherein he claims that the taxi was booked at 2:05 pm. I told him i have the message with the booking details for 1:46 pm. Later after nonstop talking to him, i asked him to transfer the line to a senior executive, and spoke to Mr. Srinivasa, who also claimed that the taxi was booked for 2:05 pm. I told him i have the confirmation message as well as the message i got from ola regretting the delay of the taxi. Still he stuck to his ground and finally told me to complain online and said he would refund my waiting charges of Rs. 19.433.
Who expects this kind of service from such a reputed taxi company. A refund of Rs. 20 after so much of argument.
2. Secondly, I had booked a taxi earlier this morning at Ahemdabad for pick up at 8:31 am (i had clearly mentioned the pickup address) and received a confirmation message for the same with booking number- CRN 66506260. Again, i was waiting for the taxi to come, and called the driver at 8:45 am to check his whereabouts. He said he had reached the destination, but actually he had reached around 150-200 m away from the actual destination. However, after coordination he reached the actual destination, upon reaching he said the address he received from the company was 150-200 m away and thats why he was waiting there. I thought may be some issue and i got on to the taxi. On arriving the airport, the driver hands out the bill for CRN[protected] Rs. 223 with waiting charges of Rs. 10.966. On asking him about the waiting charges, he says i had reached the destination (address given to him by the company) and was waiting there, so what if the actual destination was a little away, so thats why the waiting charges. He said we receieve message from the company server in bombay, so you cn go ahead and complain.
My point was it is not about the extra 10rs, but the kind of service we get from such a reputed company. They charge us for their mistake and dont even apologize for the same.
I will wait to see what reply do i get for this and what does the company have to say for this.
